Tesarik One: Background: The Heart members have been chasing clues for a few
weeks now. The clues have taken them to Wendhammer Weapons, the Knifedge
Arena, Raven Tree, and even a fight against a chain devil LazMorta. After
killing and bringing
Tesarik One: the head of LazMorta to the dwarf in the village green, a
highly illegal map was given to the group, a map that shows them where Maze
House is located. Adal has scouted ahead for us, locating the house, and
since we'd probably all
Tesarik One: be arrested at Port Union if we gave them the location of Maze
House to port us to, Adal has found a nearby village for us to teleport to,
and he will lead us to the Maze House himself by memory. Soooo.... like good
old times, every
Tesarik One: one has met at Port Union, and through the teleport you all go
to a small farming village. Everyone knows that this place is dangerous,
there is no secret about that. (Begin RP)
Adal Ag Hamid: Well...the farming village wasn't that dangerous. They were
rather nice to Adal when he stopped by a night or two ago, anyway! He stepped
through the portal and took a look around to get his bearings, then stepped
away to give room
Adal Ag Hamid: for the others to come through as well, all clad in white as
was his tradition when on a mission. And well..he just waited! No sense in
leading the way all by himself, after all.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Ah well it would be good to get out and put his talents
to the test so that's where he would be and link up with the group. Dark red
hair pulled back into a braid that swept at waist length, over his clothing
the black leather
Nobilis Arcanus: warmage overcoat, a glance around given before looking to
the robed one and gave a single nod.:: (D)
Mighty Gar thog: ~He was in the usual clothing, black robe and a black
hooded cloak this day. He stepped through, moved to the left and waited~
scaleschange: Already all too likely to be arrested if he set foot in Kullyr
and not caring to extend that to Sarkotos.. Kythin was quite happy that
someone had taken the initiative to set about this more elaborate prep
methods. The Dragonkin himself.. he was there, armed and armored and .. why
was he here again? Tired of missing out on all this rumor-causing the Heart
had been up to with these series of linked matters. -d
DaemianBerazalle: ::He was loaded for bear going into this mission. With
the way the Maze House was described, he made sure to have all of his
weaponry, including the blessed stakes he had. He was not quite his usual
self either, definitely seeming
DaemianBerazalle: more approachable at least. He checked the cranking
mechanism of his crossbow, making sure it wouldn't give him any mishaps as he
stepped through the portal. He spent a moment taking a look around, eyeing
their surroundings:: -d-
a vision bereft: Indrila and her sainthound met everyone at the Union, and
quietly stepped through the portal with her shaggy familiar. She wasn't at
all sure she was going to allow Melethril into the Maze House, but he'd come
along for a little while at least. The spidersilk armor of hers was tied
tightly around her waifish body, and as she stepped out into the sunshine she
quickly shielded her eyes with her hand and squinted.
Adal Ag Hamid: As usual, only Adal's eyes showed his smile that he gave to
the red haired man, and he offered a nod in return, then let those dark eyes
shift over towards the others. Once everyone was assembled, he pointed in the
general direction
Adal Ag Hamid: they'd be heading, and after giving the big ol' doggie a few
scratches behind the ears, he headed off to start leading the way.
Mighty Gar thog: ~Knowing where trhey were going, he made no comment. he
pulled out a length of chain from then hanging veils the demoness had, and
was thinking that should work versus a minotaur. ~
a vision bereft: The sainthound yapped a little and licked Adal, he
considered him his friend cause he always got nice scritches from him!
Melethril was far more outgoing than his mistress, she remained silent and
when Adal began to head out of the village she began to follow.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He moved to follow after the two as well, hand raised to
scratch at his jawline before adjustng the collar of the leather overcoat.::
Tesarik One: Adal had memorized the path, and it was quite winding. This
place was very difficult to find, but after a little while... it was seen
ahead. On the flat summit of a short hill stands the remains of the once
amazing manor of the
Tesarik One: Archmage Pendar, hidden in Scourcone Forest. The statues and
carvings of ruins around the base of the hill show that there was once a
small village there, but no more. A set of stairs lead up to the house on the
hill, made of carved
Tesarik One: stone right into the hill. The outside is overgrown with
foliage.
Tesarik One: (I'm going to mail you all a map I drew of this place. Your
characters do NOT have this map but it will be used so I know where you all
are heading.)
Adal Ag Hamid: He had, of course, memorized the path because this way they
didn't have to even carry around the illegal map and risk getting caught with
it! If anyone had questions along the way he'd do his level best to answer
them, which would
Adal Ag Hamid: mostly consist of trying to get Dae to translate for him as
well as he could manage, but otherwise it should be a pretty even journey.
Once they had arrived at the mansion, he gestured towards it, then stepped to
the side. This was
Nobilis Arcanus: (Aight)
Adal Ag Hamid: as close as he'd come last night, and he had no desire to
head in first, one of the more armored folks would be much better suited to
the task, probably.
Adal Ag Hamid: The other night!*
Tesarik One: (Sent. It should be big enough to read. Any of the doors that
I've highlighted in pink marker are SECRET. You will have to pass a search to
find them.)
Tesarik One: The Maze of Pendar, or Maze House as it is called is a marvel
of engineering and strong magic. It's made of great stoneworks, and many of
the ceilings inside are arched and as high as 20 feet in the larger rooms. It
is dark unless
Tesarik One: noted to be lit by magic. The only way of entrance is straight
up the carved stairs to the front doors.
Tesarik One: (Everyone get the map?)
Nobilis Arcanus: (got it)
Mighty Gar thog: (yes)
Tesarik One: (So, when the group moves into another room always tell me the
letter or number of the room so I can keep up.)
DaemianBerazalle: ::He did what he could to express to the group whenever
Adal had something to translate. He was learning things here and there from
the man just by spending time with him and making horrible guesses to get to
the point of
DaemianBerazalle: understanding he was at. Plenty of learning to be done
though, should he choose to continue with it. As they neared the entrance,
he looked among those who had gathered, and not knowing the answer posed the
question to them:: Are
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He halted where the robed one did and looked up towards
the building, his head tilted some before giving a hint of a small grin.
Looking to each person then the speaker.::
DaemianBerazalle: any of you skilled in dealing with traps?
scaleschange: Kythin would await the day when Dae mistranslated 'gather the
captives' as 'murder the captives'. Unlikely those that would be to ever come
up. FOr now.. Ky was just awaiting the lot of them to get moving .. or die.
-d
Adal Ag Hamid: Adal shook his head at that. Were they in the desert he could
tell them how to avoid certain types of traps nature might set out for them,
but regular traps, not so much!
a vision bereft: She shook her head lightly, she was good with ghosts and
spirits but the priest was no rogue by any means. It seemed that a rogue was
often missing from their group, perhaps they needed to recruit one! She pet
the head of her huge dog, and waited.
Nobilis Arcanus: Not particularly, I am afraid to say dealing with traps is
not in my repertoire of skills or spells,::that was to say not till his ass
got caught in a trap and he devised a spell for it sometime later on.::
DaemianBerazalle: We'll just deal with any we come upon, then. ::He decided
to take the lead, checking the front door to see if it would open and moving
inside once he was sure the rest were following::
scaleschange: The parties balance was always off.. never a rogue nor healer
in sight! -d
Tesarik One: They had two healers this time, Adal and Gar!
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He followed along and glanced around tilting his head
some.::
scaleschange: Kythin only saw a deaf man and a dragon.
Mighty Gar thog: ~coild not read minds to say he was the healer~
Tesarik One: But would it be enough, mwahaha. Anyway, the doors opened
freely! Right into (A), a vast hall filled with the statues of Pendar and his
ancestors. This is easily deduced by the inscriptions on the base of each of
the large, well
Tesarik One: carved statues written in common and Sark. There was a door
almost right across from the main door, to the left was Pendar and his wife's
statue, to the right various other statues.
Tesarik One: (SPOT)
Adal Ag Hamid: Oh he was a backup healer at best! Not that he was
particularly good at fighting things either. But hey, he'd led them here!
That was his good deed. And if he was deaf, he wouldn't be responding to
spoken words.Anywho! He stepped in

Tesarik One: GarThog has to run afk for a little while, so he will be
assumed to be following everyone closely.
Tesarik One: 13+ notice that there are TWO identical statues, two statues of
Pendar.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Didn't notice a damn thing!::
Adal Ag Hamid: He just noticed that there were quite a few statues.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He began inspecting the statues, noticing the writing
and through his examination he found two statues were identical, the ones
belonging to Pendar. He went back and forth between those two statues a
couple times, verifying his
Tesarik One: Dae, Kythin will both find in different statues a rotted
leather coffer of 200gp each.

to remember it:: Guess they really esteemed this Pendar . . . two statues in

Tesarik One: Dae has info via IM. Continue. As you can see by the map, there
are three doors. One into (B), one into (R) and one into (D).
DaemianBerazalle: ::As he was making his rounds of the two statues he saw
something, leaning carefully around the statue to retrieve what had caught
his eyes. He examined it quietly, not keeping it secret. It was a key and
he was taking a moment to
DaemianBerazalle: inspect it. After not seeing anything too noticeable, he
moved to check each door, seeing if any of them had a keyhole before doing
anything more::
Tesarik One: The door to (B) was not locked, nor was the door to (D) but (R)
was locked.
scaleschange: Seeing as the one with the key was not he.. Kythin selected
following the one currently most likely to get them killed. At the moment at
least. -d
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He tilted his head glancing around then turned and well
was goina follow the fellow with the key damnit!::
DaemianBerazalle: ::He motioned to the locked door(R):: This is the only
locked one. No telling what could be behind it. My vote is to go through
this one(R), but if you have any reason why you don't think we should, speak
up. ::He turned his
DaemianBerazalle: gaze to each. It made sense to him to go through, but he
wanted to be sure they were all in agreement::
Adal Ag Hamid: Oh that tricky fellow. Telling him to speak up. He was
perfectly fine with heading through the locked door first, since they got the
key! Assuming the key went to it. He shrugged and gestured towards it as if
to say 'go right ahead,
Adal Ag Hamid: see if the key works."
a vision bereft: She glanced along the statues, but apparently she did not
notice anything. She did use her (Darkvision) to see in the darkness of the
house though, and followed over to Dae to look at the door. Her voice was
soft, accented, "It is as good a choice as any."
Tesarik One: Remember, unless I say there is magical light there is no light
in this house.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He was removing from one of the overcoats pockets a pinch
of dried carrot. Grinding it between his fingers focusing on the weave of
magic.::
Nobilis Arcanus: [Spell: Darkvision - Target: Self - Spell Type: Effect -

Adal Ag Hamid: Well no wonder he couldn't see anything. Turning on his
moonglobe flashlight would likely help a bundle.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::The dried carrot would vanish in a small flash as he
slowly blinked things became black and white for him allowing the darkvision
spell to take effect.::
DaemianBerazalle: ::Was he being overly-cautious? He'd rather take no
chances with the lives of others. He could see well enough, his Darksight
having kicked in by instinct and try that key to the lock he did:: -d-
Tesarik One: (R) The key clicked and the door opened into another dark area.
The West Tower. This appears to be a living area, with couches, tables, and
other ornamentation in the round room. Thick draps hang covering the one
window in the room,
Tesarik One: the ceiling is at least 20 feet high above them.
Tesarik One: There is one door in this tower, on the western wall.
scaleschange: Seeing as well.. he couldn't see beyond the light provided by
those with mundane means of seeing in the dark.. Kythin just kept following.
Not much choice otherwise not was there? -d
a vision bereft: When the door clicked and unlocked, she approached behind
Dae and the others, sticking around at the end of the company no doubt with
GarThog.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He moved to glance towards the door looking it over, head
tilted some as he inspected the doorframe slowly. Hey, sometimes things were
carved into the doorframes that could give a hell of a shock.::
DaemianBerazalle: ::He pocketed the key after opening the door, stepping
through and scanning the room:: One door, west side . . . ::He took a
careful note of the layout of the room as he crossed through, moving towards
the door he'd just mentioned
DaemianBerazalle: :: -d-
a vision bereft: She would have given Kythin a candle or something but she
had nothing of the sort. She did move closer to him seeing as how he was
probably acting like he was in the dark, and reached out to press her hand to
his wrist, to assist in leading him along, while whispering, "You cannot see
in the dark, and have nothing to assist?"
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He looked around the living quarters then moved along
after Dae. Keeping alert though he gave a slight frown.::
a vision bereft: "Perhaps if we open the draperies?" She moved over to the
window with Kythin if he stayed with her, and pulled the curtains aside and
peered out of the window.
Tesarik One: When the curtains were pulled aside, anyone that looked out of
the window would see the view from their own window, whichever window they
looked out the most.
Tesarik One: When they were all inside (R) the door shut behind them with a
click.
Tesarik One: The door was locked as well, with the same kind of keyhole as
the first one.
Adal Ag Hamid: He was moving about, checking out the goodies in the room,
and then bam. It went and clicked, and the window was just showing..odd
things. He didn't much care for that. He also noted the conversation between
Kythin and Indrila, then
scaleschange: Stepping into any room and hearing a resounding click did not
tend to be a good sign. Kythin might well have started paying real attention
just then. -d
Adal Ag Hamid: tilted his head and unhooked the moonglobe flashlight from
his pack strap, offering it over to him.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::As the door shut he spun looking towards it and then
frowned more whispering softly,::evnek suiaerl. ::The words distinctly had a
draconic sound to them, as he tapped into the weave again.::
scaleschange: " That would be the case.. " He replies to the elf.
-d
Nobilis Arcanus: [Spell: Arcane Sight - Target: Self - Spell Type: Effect -

a vision bereft: As Adal handed the moonglobe flashlight to him, she moved
away, and dropped the curtains. That was just oddly arcane there, it gave no
help at all except that she could see out into the courtyard at the OH Inne.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::The bronze eyes and sclera took on a distinct blue glow
as he searched the room now. A frown forming a little bit.::
DaemianBerazalle: ::He'd caught sight of the window opening, and had to
blink a few times. That was just unnatural and he looked away, frowning a
bit as he made ready to check the door that would take them to the next
room(S)
DaemianBerazalle: ::
Nobilis Arcanus: ::The faint glow of well everything had him frowning,
walking over to the windowpane had the strongest aura. He looked back around
to see if there by chance mght be any magical traps waiting to be sprung,..or
any magic items.::
Tesarik One: the door into (S) was a lock much like the one into (R).
Adal Ag Hamid: Well assuming Kythin actually took the offered flashlight, he
moved over to stick with Indrila, figuring she'd be willing to lead him about
if she was leading Kythin about! If not, then he'd just have to stick with
being in the
Tesarik One: Do you all need more information to keep moving? You can go
back out the door to R, or you can try the key in the door to S.
Adal Ag Hamid: darkness. Either way, staying in this room was certainly not
helping anyone with anything.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He was debating on just keeping that key handy and
produced it, checking to see if it worked in this one. He looked over his
shoulder to the group, shrugging to himself:: Well, here goes nothing . . .
or everything. ::And turn
DaemianBerazalle: the key he did::
a vision bereft: She'd lead him about. She put her hand on his wrist, and
glanced around before moving to the next door. Dae seemed to be in charge, so
she came up behind and looked over the door. She had heard this place had
traps of some sort or another, but they had no one to check for them so they
were on their own.
scaleschange: Grateful but hardly all that likely to be thanking beyond a
nod to the man responsible for handing off the moonglobe light. This was
going to be a terrible evening if they found themselves among hostiles
though. " ... "
Tesarik One: Click. The door unlocked, and could be opened. Upon being
opened, a staircase ascending would be seen.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Hearing the click his head tilted some as he glanced over
the door. Seeing well now flare to bright he stroked the braided length of
slender beard.::
Adal Ag Hamid: So yes, let's go up the stairs. They were going to drive Adal
into speaking at this pace.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Maybe that was the point!::
Tesarik One: Up the stairs they went, a spiralling staircase!
DaemianBerazalle: ::He turned the latch to the door and moved on up the
stairs. Leading the way and making sure all were following::
Tesarik One: There is a spiralling staircase that takes you to Pendar's
Chamber (S). This ornate and well furnished room was the sleeping quarters of
the mage and his family. The cold stone walls are draped with
Tesarik One: long tapestries which depict the life and career of Pendar.
Looking at the depictions one will gather that Pendar was a vain and
conceited fellow who saw his manor as the culmination of his life's
Tesarik One: work. There is also a depiction of Erkalla and an image of a
garden and fountain with a little girl and a beautiful woman seated on it.
There is a canopied bed, many couches, a vanity with a mirror, and
Tesarik One: many finely detailed toys. There is also a toy box, hand
carved, 5 feet long 2 feet wide, 2 feet deep.
Tesarik One: There is one door within this chamber which leads to (S1).
scaleschange: It was all an elaborate way of getting the monk to talk?
Clearly he hadn't got the memo.... Kythin would get moving either way.. more
than a little ready to bash someone in the noggin' with his axe. And then
there were toys.. what in the hells was this place again.. -d
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He arched a brow as he came into the room with the
furniture and the toys his ehad tilted a little bit as he looked around the
room slowly.::
Adal Ag Hamid: Hmm. Bed stuff and toys, nothing that particularly interested
him. He had a look around...as well a look as he could have, that is. He
didn't see any reason to dig through any of these things, though some of the
toys did seem to be
Adal Ag Hamid: well-made, at least.
Tesarik One: On the bed, there is the skeleton of a small girl and a woman,
the two skeletons are dressed in fine but rotting garments and covered with
dust.

Tesarik One: Adal, you find a magical silver puppet toy on the bed near the
girl's skeleton.
Nobilis Arcanus: :::Sure steal the dead girls toy! Heartless!::
Tesarik One: Dae, you find a silver bracelet around the girl's wrist with
something written upon it.
Adal Ag Hamid: Oh well that's just.....creepy. He picked it up and eyed it a
bit, just since it seemed silvery and magic and all that, then placed it
gently back by the girl's skeleton and offered up a silent prayer.
Tesarik One: Within the toybox.... there is a toy pony, a crystal pyramid, a
fairy mask, a clockwork cat, and a doll that is dressed like an armored
prince-knight. All of them including the toybox show as magic to anyone that
can tell that.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He took note of a bracelet as he started searching near
the bed. A bit unsettling to most, but what would bones bother a Vampire?
He was careful as he examined the bracelet:: Elsabeth, hmm? I'm sorry
you've encountered the
DaemianBerazalle: fate that you have.
Tesarik One: When Adal placed the silver puppet back down, it began to dance
and spin on the bed.
Nobilis Arcanus: :::He movd over and was inspecting the crystal pyramid,
head tipped this way and that way.::
Tesarik One: The crystal pyramid produced colorful light when it was
examined.
Adal Ag Hamid: Oh goodness. He blinked when the thing started dancing and
spinning, then snatched it up again to try and figure out how to get it to
stop.
a vision bereft: She moved around the area, and then over to the bed with
the skeletons and frowned. A finger touched the dark dyed bit of her bottom
lip and then she spoke a soft prayer in ghost elven for the spirits of the
two of them.
Tesarik One: It stopped when it was taken up again.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Placing the pyramid back down,..yeah he wasn't about to
lift the fairy mask. That was allhe needed,..to be turned into a damn pixie
or something.::
a vision bereft: Once she'd done that, she moved towards the toybox and
knelt down, looking at the various toys that were obviously magical. She
picked up the fairy mask and examined it. Then brought it to her face to peer
through.
DaemianBerazalle: ::Robbing the dead? He unclasped the bracelet and stored
it in his travel pack. If they didn't need it, he'd return it, he looked
around then to see if there were any doors needing inspecting::
Adal Ag Hamid: He frowned behind his veil and then set the toy down
carefully. Surely it hadn't been dancing when they'd come in, or else
everybody would've noticed it. Maybe it wouldn't do it again.
Tesarik One: The fairy mask looks like butterfly wings, she will find
herself able to speak sylvan with it upon her face.
Nobilis Arcanus: Might wanna be careful on the mask,:;was all he said before
looking over the clockwork cat and lifted it up.::
Tesarik One: One door.
Tesarik One: When the clockwork cat was lifted out, it began to move
...slowly... it hadn't moved in some time.
scaleschange: Kythin stood back watching the others.. play with toys. "
... This hardly seems the time to be playing.. " -d
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He gave a slow blink as it began to move and turned it
this way and that way before placing it back down. Sometimes a kids toy held
keys or other items.::
a vision bereft: "Interesting." She pulled the fairy mask off, and tucked it
into her bag. She wasn't sure if it would be of use further in the maze, she
wasn't going to chance needing it.
Tesarik One: Indrila has taken the Fairy Mask.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Best way to stash something is stash it where no one will
look.::

at the others, a slight grin on his lips as they all seemed to find some
amusement in this room, though Kythin hit it on the nose:: Aye, let's set
about moving on. ::He
Adal Ag Hamid: As Kythin was being such a font of better ideas, he gave him
a little look at that, then gestured to the other door in a very 'after you'
fashion.
Tesarik One: Is anyone else taking any of the toys?
DaemianBerazalle: stood near the door they had to go through, waiting for
everyone to show they were ready and then he would progress through, using
the key if needed::
scaleschange: Never look to the faithful for enlightement...wait. -d
Nobilis Arcanus: ::But well the bracelet was taken, the mask so he pocketed
the cat in his own bag as well as the prymid.::
Adal Ag Hamid: Only if the puppet doesn't stop dancing. It wouldn't seem
right to leave it dancing around the girl's skeleton!
Tesarik One: It would not stop dancing, well it would run out eventually,
but every time he put it down it started dancing all over.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Adal is goina have to carry a dancing puppet around
forevah!::
Tesarik One: When Dae approaches the door, a magical face appears. "You may
not pass, without the password."
Adal Ag Hamid: Well he'd carry it around just to make it stop dancing,
tucking it into a pocket. Unless it started dancing in there.
Tesarik One: No it would only dance when put down.
DaemianBerazalle: ::Well . . . there wer a few choices and he looked back to
the group. He then looked back to the face which had appeared:: How many
guesses do we get to determine the password?
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Brow arched at the password then would inspect the vanity
for anyplace that a password could be writen on or any sort of books or
such.::
scaleschange: " Nif. " Open in draconic... seemed fitting.. once
he came to where Dae was standing anyway. -d
Nobilis Arcanus: Might ask what the punishment for an incorrect guess is.
scaleschange: Death. It was always death. -d
Tesarik One: "Did Pendar send you? I will tell him you tried to enter here.
What is the password?"
Adal Ag Hamid: This was, of course, one of those things that Adal would be
no help with at all. Unless the password was to stare at the face in stone
cold silence.
Tesarik One: The face stares at them unblinking, waiting.
DaemianBerazalle: Elsabeth . . . ::He took a shot. It was the name on the
bracelet, perhaps not the younger skeleton's name alone::
Tesarik One: "You may pass." The face disappeared, and the door opens and
swings inward.
Nobilis Arcanus: Clever,::he gave a nod to the man then would walk forward
towards the door.::
a vision bereft: "Elsabeth? what is that?" She wasn't sure what that was,
but hey it got the door open. She moved up with them after tucking the mask
away, and waited for the others to head into the mage-locked room.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He just gave a slight shrug and moved on through into
the room, not wanting to be cut off from the group. He looked to Indrila,
grinning as he did so:: Name on a bracelet I saw.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He glanced around the new room taking in the sights
there.::
Tesarik One: Once inside the Magical Study of Pendar, the party will see a
wondrous assortment of tables, book cases, contraptions, maps, globes, jars
of small preserved creatures and appendages, bottles, lab
Tesarik One: equipment, astrological charts, bones, feathers and so on. The
library is full of historical, alchemical, and scientific tomes. Spiders and
cobwebs are everywhere. On a table lies a Halfling skeleton,
Tesarik One: it's bones bear marks of incision and cutting--an unfortunate
experiment victim of Pendar. The contraptions are quite worthless as they are
incomprehensible.
Tesarik One: There is one door in this room, besides the one they came in!
Adal Ag Hamid: Oh oh oh, now this was more like it. Maps, books, all manner
of stuff. He didn't even notice the skeleton or spiders or anything, he went
right over to the books to give them a good once-over, the maps could come
next! All this
Adal Ag Hamid: stuff sitting around here not being used was just criminal!
He might have to borrow a few things.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He blinked, another blink before he began moving slowly
through the room being careful but looking through the book cases and the
tomes. Hmm it was a mages home, arcane tomes and alchemy tomes was always a
perk nifty thing!::
Tesarik One: On one of the tables is an open book covered with dust. The
book is a text written in Runin
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Moving over to the table he would lift the open books and
began to study the text.::
Tesarik One: All of the books on the shelves are magical in nature and
cannot be comprehended by anyone that doesn't have Magical or Psionic
Affinity.
DaemianBerazalle: ::Picking up on the spiders, he drew out a rod from his
pack as he took note of them, keeping an eye on how many there were, and if
any were something to worry over::
scaleschange: Well he for one was already looking over things in order to
find what was worth making up for the petty annoyances of this little maze.
People like Pendar kept valuables lying around more often then they did
corpses.. pity he couldn't read anything from the place.-d
Tesarik One: Kythin, roll Spot.
Nobilis Arcanus: ;::A few of the books had already found their way into his
pack from the shelves. The book with Runin as well.::
Adal Ag Hamid: Well then shit, none of this was even worth anything to him
if he couldn't read it. Damnit. He gave the books a scowl and went to check
out the maps instead.
Mighty Gar thog: ~and there he was, staring at the aged materials. He opened
up his back pack and pulled out 8 sacks~
Tesarik One: The maps were of all various towns, countries, dungeons and the
like. You may use your imagination.
scaleschange: Time to steal maps, clearly this was the honorable action of a
Knight of Dunsany.. -d
Tesarik One: The book of Runin words had an instruction on the open page to
mix the blue elixir with the green in order to transmute stone to gold.
Several golden stones lie beside the book, and there is in fact a beaker in a
stand filled with
Adal Ag Hamid: He'd just have to satisfy him with borrowing some maps, then,
if any of them were in good enough condition to take.
Tesarik One: murky green liquid and beside it a glass cup filled with blue
liquid that is still bubbling.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::The arcane tomes was not being used and someone else with
lesser noble intentions might come across them! Looking from the page to the
items he would tilt his head some, a tap to his chin before looking to the
stones and slid them
DaemianBerazalle: ::While the rest were gazing about, he took a moment to
rely on his other senses, taking in a deep breath as he moved around the
room, trying to see if he could determine any familiar scents if any were
lingering other than those
DaemianBerazalle: here with him::
Tesarik One: The maps could be taken. I
Mighty Gar thog: ~He was filling the bags with first books. If all books
were gone, he would continue, leaving filled bags. He even grabbed the book
that was open near the end of his book taking. Placing sacks, the bags in the
center of
Mighty Gar thog: the room~
Nobilis Arcanus: into the pack then puling out some crystal vials he would
pour the green into a few then the blue into a few more. The vials were
capped and tucked into his pack now safely. The Runin book was slid into his
pack as well before movin
Mighty Gar thog: (Activate True seeing)
Nobilis Arcanus: over to the others after getting whatever Arcane and
alchemy tomes that he had found that was worthwhile.::
Tesarik One: Kythin did you ever roll spot for me?
Mighty Gar thog: ~he let Nobilis have that book. Long as it would be saved~

halfling, a letter identifies him as Berberry Quickfoot and tells of him
being from outside Feld.
Tesarik One: 16+ notice two metal keys hanging behind some things on a wall.
One key is a strange reddish metal, and the other door in the room is of the
same metal. The other key is very small of a purplish black metal.
scaleschange: Rummaging through the belongings of the dead? Well standard
adventurer's fare that. Leaving the others to deal with that.. the Dragonkin
went on over to examine and or take the keys.. mostly examine.. wary of
things in this place. There was magic afoot after all. -d
DaemianBerazalle: ::He gave a cursory glance of the backpack, seeing if any
of the contents caught his eye. As he spotted the keys, he noticed that
Kythin did as well, making his way to stand beside him::
Tesarik One: Gar Thog has found a secret door to a small area with Loots for
you all, good job! It will be distributed in the Loot Receipt. These will be
things from your wish list.
Mighty Gar thog: ~Oh, he hated to do it, but... all these books and scrolls.
He have a laugh. From his robe, he pulled forth a patch (Robe of useful
items, mule with saddle bags) and petted his new friend~
scaleschange: " Why don't you take the red one Daemian. " And
slapped the fellow on the back all friendly like. -d
Tesarik One: If you didn't give me a wish list, you'll each just get one
thing of my choice.
scaleschange: [ wish list? ]
Tesarik One: (I've put it in the Update for two weeks now -.-)
Tesarik One: (send me a list of 5 things you want, slot items, something
special, etc)
Nobilis Arcanus: ::While they were still discusing the keys he was looking
over more of the books, having a few spread out on the table examining them.
His head tilted some searching through the contents.::
DaemianBerazalle: ::He arched a brow as he heard Kythin and chuckled as he
felt the slap on his back:: Vampire . . . not Guinea Pig. ::He just grinned
though and after making the point he lifted the key from the wall, that which
resembled the door:
Adal Ag Hamid: He'd just kinda hang about in the non-enjoyable library and
wait for them to finish whatever they were doing so he could resume following
along! Well at least he got some new maps to look at. (brb)
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Sureeee send a mage into a room with fricking books!::
a vision bereft: She moved away as a mule was called upon in the middle of
the mage's study. She wasn't sure what in the world he was going to do with a
mule indoors, but she blinked a little and moved over towards the door they
had not entered.
Tesarik One: They could head back out into (S) or try to get into the room
into (S2).
Mighty Gar thog: ~He was happily fixing putting more scrolls, and things in
this first room in the saddle bags, and attaching his eight once spare, now
full, sacks to the mule He was overjoyed with his personal treasure~
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Good luck leading a mule down stairs.::
Tesarik One: Not sure if that mule with eight full sacks is going to get
through doors ....hmm.
Tesarik One: Anyway, let's keep moving if possible! You can head back out
into (S) or try to get into the room (S2). One of the keys found, the larger
one, matches the metal of the doorlock.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He gave the reddish door a once-over, approaching it
with the key and crossing his fingers as he checked the lock. A look given
to Kythin as if to say "I ain't afraid of no ghosts . . . err, doors."::
scaleschange: " Undead are to be experimented on.. is that not what
necromancers do? " Either way he'd take up the purplish one and be on
his way if nothing suddenly occurred.. -d
Mighty Gar thog: (It should. Just takes time to put the bags on ciorrectly)
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Still getting it back down the stairs,...goina be a bitch
of a time!::
Tesarik One: (By the way, everything in this last room except the "main
loot" is up to you what you find. If you wish to find spellbooks of a certain
sort, maps of certain places, and all that...go for it. None of it is magical
stuff so it's
Tesarik One: just mundane alchemy equipment, books, scrolls, beakers, etc
etc..... up to you what you get.)
Tesarik One: Did Dae use the key or just examine the lock?
Mighty Gar thog: ~yup. Good thing ar has animal skills. He was ready to
follow the lead, oh so happy with his books~
Mighty Gar thog: *Gar
DaemianBerazalle: ::And after teasing Kythin a bit, he turned the key and
set about heading on in to the next room(S2)::
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He followed as well tucking a few more books away, head
tilted some as he checked the next room out.::
Tesarik One: This small room has a table and a chair, and on the table rest
several magical artifacts. There are four spell scrolls: Dispel Magic, Secret
Door Detection, Charm Animal, Monk Technique. There is also
Tesarik One: a potion of Darksight, and 2 Potions of Healing (10hp). These
are all labeled. Also lying on the table is a grimoire called the Book of
Grim Power. It is clasped with a purplish black metal lock.
Mighty Gar thog: ~He was thinking of making a library now. He'd be happy to
share books with anyone, if they donated to the main body.~
Tesarik One: State quickly what ONE thing you want in the room.
Mighty Gar thog: (book)
Nobilis Arcanus: (Secret door detection)
a vision bereft: (Healing)
scaleschange: [ potion of dark sight.. ]
DaemianBerazalle: -- healing --
Adal Ag Hamid: (Monk technique, of course)
Tesarik One: The Book of Grim Power cannot be opened unless you have the
key. It is highly magical, and if you do have the key and open it, it can
ONLY be read by someone with Magical Affinity.
scaleschange: Kythin pocketed that key he'd picked up earlier.. seeing as
how it matched the the color of the grimoire.. well what did he care if
someone else could not open it? -d
Mighty Gar thog: ~Gar will take the rest just to carry for the group to use
later, unless someone else does~
Mighty Gar thog: ~has magical affinity~
Tesarik One: Haha. Yes, Kythin has the key to the book.
Adal Ag Hamid: Ha. Anyway, a scroll! He immediately started looking it over
to see if it'd be something useful to him, naturally.
Tesarik One: That's all there is to see in this room and there are no more
doors, secret or seen, you have come to a dead end.
DaemianBerazalle: Well . . . so much for hunches. ::He chuckled softly and
started making his way back towards the door they had come into the room from
and back out again, backtracking to the door that would get them back to (R),
having the key for
Tesarik One: You may go back through to (S1), and then into (S) and down the
stairs again.
DaemianBerazalle: it and waiting to progress through each door until
everyone was making ready to do so::
Nobilis Arcanus: (Sorry back)
Adal Ag Hamid: Hopefully they'd be able to backtrack successfully. With what
he'd heard about this place he didn't think it highly likely.
Mighty Gar thog: ~he was last, leading his new mule, poor overworked
creature~
Mighty Gar thog: (wb)
Adal Ag Hamid: Gar thog was a monster for making the thing go through that,
not to mention heading down a spiral staircase. The thing would probably
break its neck.
scaleschange: It'd be a long night before they got out no doubt.. -d
Tesarik One: No, not likely. Because as they got back into R and attempted
to go into A......the door would open into an entirely different room! You
are now in
Tesarik One: Section (I)
Mighty Gar thog: ~lowly~ Come along. c'mon... good boy... careful...
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He blinked and looked around;:Well this is a little
strange,:;he raised a hand to stroke his chin.::
DaemianBerazalle: ::Well now, that was just odd. He didn't like it one bit,
though he gave nothing more than a "tsk" of annoyance. Still, having no
other course available he stepped on through::
Tesarik One: You step out as if you are coming into I from (F). There are
several long dining tables in this room with benches upon which skeletons
dressed in rotted food crawling with bugs and maggots in an assortment of
gold and silver
Tesarik One: serving vessels, chalices, and plates. There is a good bottle
of dwarven spirits on the table (worth 4gp). There is a grate in the middle
of the room which can easily be opened, it leads into the wine cellar (K).
There is a horrific
Tesarik One: foul stench in this room, seemingly coming from the learge
hearth on the left hand side.
Adal Ag Hamid: Hm, yep. This room did not look at all familiar. He noted that
it was a good bit different from where they'd come from, but soon went back
to eyeballing that scroll. More skeletons were of little concern to him,
although that smell
scaleschange: " ... This reminds greatly of Dunsany castle.. " Not
that everyone there would realize the meaning of that little statement. Ky
would .. possibly wind up checking into that horrible stench.. from a great
distance. -d
a vision bereft: She followed along, feeling a little tingle from all the
magic especially when they walked into what they thought would be the room of
statues and instead found a disgusting dining hall of some sort. She wrinkled
her nose at all the rotted food, and walked over towards the hearth and
tilted down a little, to peek into it.
Adal Ag Hamid: was pretty damned terrible. He wrinkled his nose and glanced
over towards the hearth, tucking his new scroll into his pack. Would be nice
if they went somewhere that smelled pretty for once.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He moved along looking over the skeletons that was on the
benches, head tilted a little more while arching an eyebrow.::
Tesarik One: There was a copper pot hanging over the cold ashes, but besides
that the old hearth is full of excrement.
Adal Ag Hamid: (fuck's sake, brb again)
Tesarik One: As Indrila peeks into the hearth, there is a screeching sound
and claws appear from within the fireplace, and grab Indrila, tugging her
closer to the fireplace and ripping into her flesh.

Adal Ag Hamid: He'd follow along wherever they happened to go. He was really
getting the urge to talk to somebody now, but alas! He didn't figure he could
sign to any of them in a way that'd make sense. Oh well! Time to follow the
others' lead for
Mighty Gar thog: (yes, but combat takes far longer irl, than adventure time
lol)
Adal Ag Hamid: the time being.
a vision bereft: "Do we go back the way we came.... or do we go here." She
said softly as she pointed to the door to the left near the hearth.
Mighty Gar thog: ]May as well proceed onwardfs...
DaemianBerazalle: ::He waited for everyone to gather, making sure none were
left in the cellar before opening the door and pressing on into room L::
Nobilis Arcanus: ::And into Room L they went.::
Adal Ag Hamid: Oh well. He'd just sign anyway to get the words out, whether
anyone understood as not. And then more following towards the front!
Tesarik One: As he pushed the door open.... it opened not into a room, but
outdoors..as if stepping out of a mountain. If they went through, they'd find
themselves in an odd place, having moved out between two pillars carved in
stone.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He looked over towards the Signing one, a blink was given
before chuckling.:: That is telling them,:;a nod given to the monk.:::
Nobilis Arcanus: And his hand raised and his slender fingers began to move
in an intricate dance of his own sign,::
Tesarik One: (If anyone has a Knowledge such as Geography, Lore, or
something similar you can use it.)
Adal Ag Hamid: Snort, and then he signed right back. "Agreed." Before he had
to start thinking, once they got into this new room. (Geography!)
OnlineHost: Adal Ag Hamid rolled 1 20-sided die: 11
Tesarik One: ~*~ Adal Ag Hamid scored 0 poynts damage ~*~
Nobilis Arcanus: (Nope but if its got writing on it or encrpyted code!)
Adal Ag Hamid: (+3 int, +5 from the skill, 19)
scaleschange: Back to following those who were much more interested.. well..
he was interested after practically stealing the means to open the grimoire
from Gar Thog! Ha! And then.. they were outside? Well this made no sense!
Tesarik One: (Also, everyone needs to roll a spot once they step out)
OnlineHost: Nobilis Arcanus rolled 1 20-sided die: 4

Tesarik One: ~*~ Adal Ag Hamid scored 1 poynts damage ~*~
Nobilis Arcanus: (Whoooo he is perceptive)
DaemianBerazalle: ::Well, outside they were. He took time to move away from
the group, looking around to see if there were any noticeable tracks, if
indeed they were actually outside::
Adal Ag Hamid: (Alert 23)
OnlineHost: DaemianBerazalle rolled 1 20-sided die: 8

DaemianBerazalle: -- 16 --
Mighty Gar thog: (divine delving before going out~
Mighty Gar thog: )
Tesarik One: 15+ notice blood upon the stone between the pillars.
Adal Ag Hamid: He blinked upon his look around, thought for a moment, then
grabbed Rhyss by the arm and signed to him. He'd noticed the blood, but it
was secondary to what he'd noticed first.
OnlineHost: scaleschange rolled 1 2-sided die: 2
Tesarik One: ~*~ scaleschange scored 0 poynts damage ~*~
Nobilis Arcanus: ::If its a big splatter,...Rhyss still wont see it! To busy
with a silent snicker before looking over as his arm was grabbed and then the
signing.::
OnlineHost: scaleschange rolled 1 20-sided die: 13
Tesarik One: ~*~ scaleschange scored 0 poynts damage ~*~
DaemianBerazalle: ::Well, as odd as it might seem to those around him, he
leaned close and sniffed at the blood which had been marked upon the
pillars(Scent)::
Tesarik One: It was the same blood as on the first parchment they'd gotten
with the WW on it. Feykin blood.
Mighty Gar thog: oooo All...
Nobilis Arcanus: Our silent traveling companion here has said we appear to
be in Kyngfeld, a place called Mountain Gate.
Tesarik One: Mountain Gate
Tesarik One: In a small valley on the mountain’s side, that can be found by
chance or purpose is an old track of little use leading to two large stones
that resemble pillars (that’s what most people think is the
Tesarik One: reason for the name).
Tesarik One: Like the pillars, there are more stones crudely shaped to
resemble something - mostly animals, or humanoid shapes. There are several
old fireplaces, strange wooden constructions, even a small hut or
Tesarik One: two, but no permanent structures for no one stayed here to
live. The more sensitive people can feel a small draft sometimes, as if there
was a window open in your house. Animals will be unquiet at
Tesarik One: times, and sleeping here tends to produce strange dreams.
Tesarik One: GarThog's mule will do everything possible to try and run away
and get away from this place.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::A nod was given to the man,:;thank you for the
information to relay. ::He then looked over to the mule and moved over to it
patting the poor, over burdened creature near the saddlebags.::
Mighty Gar thog: dis ius a spirit contact point for priestsm shasmans and da
like. ~points~ see dat crack up da entire mountain range?
Mighty Gar thog: ~he moves back, not going outside into that area~
Tesarik One: ----This is where we end tonight. Your characters are near the
town of Woodwynne in Kyngfeld. There is a Port Union there, so if they wish
to go home, they may, or they can stay in Woodwynne. The Mountain Gate is the
next clue.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He growled softly and spent a moment sniffing around the
air, keeping his eyes and nose open for more traces of blood. If a trail
existed, he could find it(Ranger bonus:Silent Tracker - when outdoors, able
to track just about
DaemianBerazalle: anything that leaves a trail, scent etc.)::
Tesarik One: No they can't see the crack, it's so very tiny. GarThog only
noticed it cause of divine delving. The crack is hair-thin.
Adal Ag Hamid: He nodded back, then moved about and examined the place more
thoroughly. He'd either seen it in his travel through Kyngfeld to Sarkotos,
or had at least read a bout it, but either way he hadn't given it a very
close examination!
Tesarik One: The trail would lead to this crack that GarThog spoke about,
barely perceptible.
Tesarik One: Y'all are welcome to keep rping, checking out the Gate, or
heading into town for the inne or port union (maria will pay for you to get
home). I hope you all enjoyed, we barely scratched the surface of Maze House.
Tesarik One: Dae 0/40 [22] || Kythin 0/36 [18] || Indrila 5/30 [18] ||
GarThog 0/35 [14] (0/14) || Rhyss 0/20 [18] || Adal 0/21 [16] (12/12)

Tesarik One: End Log
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Ohh he couldn't wait to get back into that Maze house and
see if there was anything else there!:::
DaemianBerazalle: ::Well, leave it up to the super sniffer! He tapped his
nose, for the nose knew::
Mighty Gar thog: (lol It was fun. Gar loves the books!)
Nobilis Arcanus: (LOL Its all just arcane porn,...the first version of
internet porn! Illusion magic at its finest)
scaleschange: [ a library has been provided for you, if you do not take it..
you wil be hit with a bag of books. ]
Nobilis Arcanus: (And he had a thing for Orc chicks)
Tesarik One: (There is more info on the Kyngfeld page that you'd find out by
either lore, library, or asking the people in Woodwynne.)
Mighty Gar thog: (ok)
DaemianBerazalle: -- You can also seek out one of the newer members, Georg
Pryme. Rumor is he hails originally from Kyngfeld --
scaleschange: [ and Kythin still has the only key to the grimoire ;) ]
Adal Ag Hamid: (You could ask Adal too, since he passed through there and
all. He's a chatterbox)
Nobilis Arcanus: (Yes Adal just wont shut up)
DaemianBerazalle: -- Seriously, you should spend time at the inne with him.
Talks a mile a minute --
Nobilis Arcanus: (And that key is probably goina cost close to twenty K lol)
Tesarik One: (I'm not going to tell anyone what the grimoire does till it's
able to be opened!)
scaleschange: [ probably won't be lol ]
scaleschange: [ given the name htough I presume it'd be bad for a non-evil
to open.
Mighty Gar thog: (Give Gar the key. he'll be foolish enough/curious enough
to open it)
scaleschange: [ Kythin is greedy. ]
Nobilis Arcanus: (LOL Gar got enough things this trip!)
Mighty Gar thog: (Make a deeal lol. So is Gar though, at times. Dragon,
after all)
Adal Ag Hamid: (That)
Adal Ag Hamid: (Is racist)
scaleschange: [ Both Dragonblooded will clearly want to stab the dragon over
this. ]
Nobilis Arcanus: (Oh yes)
DaemianBerazalle: ::He looked to Gar then, his eyes shifting from gray to
that wonderful deep crimson, speaking softly:: There is a price on your
head, Gar Thog. I think it is past time it is claimed.
Tesarik One: Uh oh.
Mighty Gar thog: (lol Give the dragon the key!)
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Dun dun dunnnnnn!::
