Tesarik One: Wonderful. Now then, in order to save time I am going to do a

little storytelling as to what happened to the group to get them to where

they will be when we begin the roleplay. Thank you to all who did the

research to figure out my

Tesarik One: two clues, well done. The first clue came in the form of a

delivered parchment tied with a bit of cord, while everyone was having a fine

time in the inne doing whatever it is they do in the inne at that moment.

Maria opened the

Tesarik One: parchment only to find written in blood (feykin blood if anyone

could tell by scent/taste/etc) the letters "WW". After some thought, several

decided that a visit to Kord Wendhammer of Wendhammer Weapons was the next

course of action

Tesarik One: and so they visited Kord, and he ..oddly enough...said he had a

special order waiting for Maria, and gave them a knife with an extremely

sharp edge to it. Having gotten the idea this seemed to be some sort of clue

"game", and

Tesarik One: wondering just who the person was whose blood the first note

was written with, a couple figured out that perhaps they needed to make their

way to the arena in Knifedge. Which brings us to our group tonight. Knifedge

wasn't that far

Tesarik One: away, and so they traveled there and upon arrival at the town,

they realize that all the businesses are shut up, and the streets are empty -

everyone was at the arena! they could hear the roar of the crowd as they

walked the street

Tesarik One: towards the famous arena......BEGIN RP!!

DaemianBerazalle: ::He moved along at an easy pace, no visible weapons

present with him this eve. Just his normal attire, differring shades of

greys and blues with his armor and locket adorned. Every now and then, as if

in unconscious habit, he'd

a vision bereft: An arena was not this ghost elf's idea of fun, but she'd

been there at the inne when the note had arrived and decided she'd see this

to the end if it were possible. She got all her adventuring gear together,

along with her furry familiar, the sainthound (who looked like a sheepdog) at

her side, she made her way to Knifedge in complete silence with the group.

DaemianBerazalle: adjust the wide-brimmed hat which rested upon his head,

keeping most of his face consumed by shadow. They were nearing the arena,

and he would find his steps hesitating as they drew ever closer. The last

time he'd been inside an

Roguish Luck: Seeing as the lot of them probably hadn't purchased a horse

yet, Logen left Mik back at the Obsidian Heart this time around and set to

his boots to carry him along with the group. More so, closer to Daemian. He

was familiar, and so

Tesarik Five: Sadlin had almost given up on getting back in the water, back

to the ship where his feet could meet with unsteady ground once again. So why

not make the best of his time on dry land and earn some loot for himself?

Dressed today in

Adal Ag Hamid: Hmm. Everything empty, and an arena? On top of all that,

travelling around in the cold, splendid. The desert dweller had all his

robped tightly around him to stay as warm as possible, veil in place, though

the robes were white today

Adal Ag Hamid: as he had a different set he wore for jobs where violence

might be involved, than his day to day life. All these new people of course

meant nobody'd heard so much as a breath from him since he'd joined up with

the group,

DaemianBerazalle: arena with the group from Obsidian Hart, things turned

south. He gave a slight nod to Logen as he came out of his thoughts,

speaking low so the newcomers wouldn't be put off:: Remember the last arena

we were in? Keep your eyes

Roguish Luck: was Indrila, but she didn't seem the type to carry on a

conversation while in the midst of traveling. Logen had glanced about towards

the others with a raised brow before looking back to Daemian. "What do you

think we're gonna be

Adal Ag Hamid: communicating exclusively through sign language. If nobody

could understand it, well...oh well.

Adal Ag Hamid: robes*

DaemianBerazalle: peeled. Dream or not, I don't want to take any chances.

Faithful Hammer: ::He trudged along with the group in a stoic silence,

having gotten together what he figured he would need. That being the armor he

wore and the hammer slung over his back in the sling, the head bearing the

Hammer and Anvil symbol

Roguish Luck: doing here..? Fighting each other or what? The Hell are we

supposed to be looking for anyways?"[d]

Faithful Hammer: of the Soul-Forger was always kept nearby. Hand raised to

stroke along the short reddish beard that held the small twin warhammer

adornements at the end of two braids on either side of said beard. A glance

around, eyebrow arched as

Tesarik Five: something simple, a light green and soft blue silk shirt with

matching silk pants he made his way with the others. Gazing about here and

there to take in the sights before he shook his head slowly. "We wont have to

find anything, if

Tesarik Five: things keep like they had....Instead, it'll find us." Well

both clues were given to them thus far. So no need in thinking otherwise just

yet.

Faithful Hammer: he took in the surroundings before looking back towards the

head of the group.:: (D)

a vision bereft: She glanced over towards the silent desert man, lifting a

brow for a moment. As close as she had been to Thanes, it was not a place

she'd ever visited, honestly she'd never visited anywhere until she'd been

asked to come here by Maria. She didn't know what he was saying but she was

intelligent enough to figure out he was doing sign language. She reached down

and pat the head of her big dog, and walked along.

DaemianBerazalle: ::He turned and took stock of the group as he heard

Logen's question, walking backwards and still keeping that same easy stride.

After a moment he turned around and simply shrugged as he heard Sadlin's

answer:: I imagine he has

Tesarik One: As they approached the arena, two huge gates opened and a group

of city guards poured out, lining the lane on either side and lifted their

swords as they cheered. A voice was heard over the din of the crowd, "Our

heroes have

Roguish Luck: Logen's shoulders fell with a sigh. "Damn it.."

Tesarik One: arrived, as promised!" As they walked along the various guards

gave slaps on the shoulder and nods, and fist pumps to them as they went by,

grinning big. As they made it to the gate, one of the guards with a box in

his hand leaned

Tesarik One: over, "Go in through, all your fees were paid this morning!"

Through the gates into the arena floor...they'd see something that resembled

a massive chess board.

a vision bereft: She did not want to be touched, or slapped, or fist pumped

or any of that nonsense, and so she crept to the middle of the group. She was

a frail little thing, and she was not at all trusting as to what was going to

occur. A few curses dropped in ghost elven from her lips as she spied the

arena floor.

Adal Ag Hamid: Oh goodness, were they playing chess? Dark eyes, being the

only part of him exposed, eyed the guards when they showed up, and he was of

a mind with the ghost elf, sliding closer to her to try and avoid as much of

that nonsense as

DaemianBerazalle: ::That statement put him on guard. Supposing this was all

just a game, a series of challenges, it would make sense that someone would

count on them reaching here. He took a moment as they continued on, opening

up his senses a bit

Tesarik Five: Hearing that heroes were there he turned to look around,

trying to see who these heroes were. He wasn't one to fawn over such things,

but that didn't mean he didn't enjoy looking at them from time to time.

Though when he realized

Adal Ag Hamid: possible. And then he spotted the arena floor and tilted his

head a bit. Hm. Well all he got out of this was that apparently they were

heroes and their fees were paid. At least there was that last bit. He didn't

feel particularly

Roguish Luck: "When we get back... remind me to cold-cock Maria.." Words

spoken to the side towards Daemian. Gloved hands rose to set against each

other's palm, one after the other to pop the digits and loosen the hands to

wield the Bastard. "I

Adal Ag Hamid: heroic at the moment, however.

Roguish Luck: ain't gonna play some damn silly table top game... That's for

night owls and weird folk."[d]

DaemianBerazalle: more, allowing more of everything to be taken in through

his sight, hearing and smell. He pulled the edges of his cloak a bit closer

to himself, chuckling as he heard Logen:: Should I also remind you to duck?

::A grin spread

DaemianBerazalle: slowly across his lips:: Knowledge is power, my friend.

Chess is a good test of that statement.

Tesarik Five: that the gaurds were talking about them he sighed. "Hells with

no water....Heroes? Really?" Shaking his head to that he then saw the floor

and gave a tilting of his head. Ah, well at least it was a game he knew. Even

if he was a

Faithful Hammer: ::The exuberant greetings just had him tilting his head but

he woudl give a nod to some as he continued forward before tilting his head

some looking around some of the taller folk to the game board. A frown formed

slightly, another

Tesarik Five: pirate, he was a learned and sophisticated man at one point in

his life, before he went all scallywag and what have you.

Faithful Hammer: stroke of his fingers along the beard giving a quiet grunt

to himself.:: Wonderful,::the only thing he uttered in the grunt before his

Tesarik One: As they entered, the crowd erupted in cheers and pennants were

flying all about. Across the far end of the arena were the creatures they

were going to face. No, they would not be playing chess persay, but they

would be fighting

Tesarik One: chess monster constructs! There were two pawns, a knight, a

bishop, a rook, a king and a queen waiting for them, standing very still on

that far side. The gates closed behind them.

Adal Ag Hamid: Well that wasn't much of a chess board setup, but he wasn't

going to complain that they didn't have to fight the entire set. That would

probably be overwhelming, to say the least. As soon as the gate closed, he

set his pack down out

Adal Ag Hamid: of the way, then produced a blindfold from inside his robes

somewhere and started securing it around his eyes, making..not a bit of flesh

visible on him, in fact.

a vision bereft: Indrila rubbed at the side of her face, but then her hand

went to the hilt of her elven blade and withdrew it from the sheath, as she

looked across at what surely had to be the creatures they were going to be

fighting.

Faithful Hammer: ::He just slowly blinked seeing the chess peices, a hand

slid back over his shoulder and slid his fingers through the leather thong

attatched to the haft of the warhammer. Fingers curled to the haft and he

gave a tug removing the

Roguish Luck: With a breath drawn in, Logen assessed the situation before

him. He'd never played the game before and therefor, really couldn't pick out

the threat. If he went with the more immaculuate the design, the more deadly,

then sure. He

Faithful Hammer: hammer from the harness. The head was smacked into the left

palm while he narrowed his eyes staring at the peices.:: (D)

Roguish Luck: might put something together. But for the most part. They were

beings without true faces and that just meant they were soon to be trash.

"What's the plan, Dae?"[d]

Tesarik One: "May the heroes triumph!" Came the shout, and then the chess

creatures began to move. The pawns moved first, two humanoid wearing suits of

shining armor and carrying a longsword and a shield. They move with an almost

clockwork

Tesarik One: awkwardness, yet fearless determination. They move forward

towards the group, the first one bringing his sword forward to take a strike

at Logen, then with a quick movement, also slashed at Dae. (En Passant -

First attack allows two

DaemianBerazalle: ::He shifted backwards slightly, making no move to defend

against the attack otherwise as it came at him, motioning Logen to attack the

incoming pawns:: One threat at a time. Focus attacks and strike them down!



Tesarik One: Logen-

Adal Ag Hamid: He might now be blind, but of course that didn't make him

defenseless. He still got hit, sure, but he got out of the way of the

majority of that damage at least.

Roguish Luck: Logen had an easy enough time to control the distance between

himself and the Pawn(1) that came after both Dae and himself. One hand

retrieved the Bastard, the other made it a threat. With a twist of hips,

surge of shoulders and a

Roguish Luck: rotation of wrists, that Bastard found it's mark in cleaving

across the Pawn's torso.[d]

Tesarik One: This mounted humanoid figure is covered from head to toe in

plate mail and carries a heavy lance of exquisite design. It rears up on it's

horrific mount and looks ready to charge. It points it's lance

Tesarik One: forward, heading for Sadlin, and attempts to skewer him in the

shoulder.

Roguish Luck: With the pawn stunned from a strike of the Bastard, Logen

noted the Knight giving it's charge. With a few steps and lunge, Logen placed

himself between Sadlin and the Knight only to bring the Bastard up, catching

the haft of the

Roguish Luck: Lance and knocking it up and out Sadlin's way.[d]

Tesarik One: Indrila-

a vision bereft: This... well this wasn't looking good. Constructs were

always nasty to begin with. She stood where she'd reappeared, glancing for a

moment around for Melethril then she focused her attention upon the Knight,

that lance looked dangerous. She began to cast a spell that would cause the

Knight to be caught in the Ethereal Plane, unable to do anything in the

material plane. (Ethereal Prison - Hold Spell 2 rounds - DC16)

Tesarik One: The Bishop is wearing priestly robes and bears a magnificent

polearm in both hands. He wears a pontiff's hat and his stately face is

partially obscured by a large beard. He points his halberd from where he

stands towards Logen,

Tesarik One: casting a spell that causes terrible pain to wrack throughout

Logen's body.

Roguish Luck: That threw him for a loop. Just as the Knight had passed by,

so did it pass out of sight. Eyes set to Sadlin for a moment to make sure the

man was alright before turning to find another to engage. Once a blade was

Roguish Luck: direction, Logen had his next target taking it as a

DaemianBerazalle: ::He motioned to Sadlin and Torrin to close ranks on the

pawn that Logen had damaged, and called out to Logen:: I'm going to occupy

the attention of the others! ::He moved forward then, charging a line

straight at the Queen but

DaemianBerazalle: changing direction at the last second and producing a

sword from seemingly nowhere as he moved in to lunge at the King, slashing

the blade in a swift motion, testing the King's defenses(Sword of the Others,

d6 with frost enchant and

Tesarik One: This construct resembles a miniature tower, slightly taller

than the tallest of humans. From the side of the battlement's base jut three

humanoid arms bearing swords. It moves with speed and grace that belies it's

appearance. It

scimitars - slashing and stabbing with each one - Dae, Torrin, Logen.

a vision bereft: Indrila let out a soft gasp and cry as she felt her skin

rip open from the inflict wound spell, her spidersilk could do nothing

against that and now it was being stained dark with the blood as it seeped

outwards.

DaemianBerazalle: ::He let out a beastial roar which definitely could not be

produced by normal sounds, calling to Logen:: Finish the King!

Roguish Luck: Eyes set on the Queen with a smirk. He was done playing.

Daemian probably wouldn't last much longer if he did continue. The Bastard

was pulled free and Logen made his approach towards the King with Bastard in

hands. Quickly placed

Tesarik Five: Even after he spent all that effort to heal everyone,

well....Almost everyone, they were then ripped apart! How rude! He groaned

and grunted as he dropped to one knee, blood ruining those fancy silk clothes

of his, until Adal had

Tesarik Five: healed him that is.

Roguish Luck: feet covered the distance, his own thick hide ignoring the

aethers the construct was summoning. Through air and then material the

Bastard traveled, hopefully severing the King's head

crowd jumped up in a roaring cheer, waving the pennants. As the King was

destroyed, the other pieces - the Rook, the Queen, stopped moving entirely

for a moment, then

been when they first entered. They were victorious!

Roguish Luck: Logen glanced over his shouder towards Daemian and raised a

brow. He looked worse for wear. The Bastard found it's home again in the

scabbard upon his back and slowly he stalked over towards him. "Will you knit

Tesarik Five: With a huff he looked around, seeing Adal still hurt pretty

badly he placed a hand to his side, healing him up and nodding to him. Then

moving to Indrila he gave her a wide smile. "Well hello there. Aren't you

almost as pretty as me

a vision bereft: She stumbled a bit, her dog rushed up beside her and she

gave a lean upon the very large sainthound with a hand on his head. "I'm

fine," she whispered in ghost elven to the dog.

DaemianBerazalle: ::He took a moment and just shifted to a cross-legged

seating position, fishing around and coming up with a full-heal, drinking it

down and just catching his breath as he looked around to try and find out

what the next clue would

Tesarik Five: " With a wink given to her he then placed a hand to her

shoulder as well, healing some of her wounds as well (10 HP to each.)

DaemianBerazalle: be:: Nae, I am fine, though I thank you. You saved my

a vision bereft: She narrowed her eyes as the pretty dancing man approached,

untrusting of just about everyone. She gripped her sword, then sheathed it

and looked up at him more fully, even as he healed her. Her voice was soft,

heavily accented, as she spoke common, "Thank you."

Faithful Hammer: ::THe hammer was drawn back when everything started to calm

down he lowered it and would look around frowning some. Head tilted before

reaching back and slid the hammer into the harness before rubbing over his

Faithful Hammer: deepened a little looking around towards the cheering crowd

Tesarik One: A tall man came out to the field, holding a basket of pouches

of gold, and another bag. Each person was allowed to put his hand in the one

bag and pull out an item (a small chess piece), and they were all given

pouches of gold. The

Adal Ag Hamid: He signed thank you to Sadlin, and removed his blindfold

since it seemed that there wasn't any more fighting going on. Well his

clothes were a mess, more red than white now. Oh well.

Roguish Luck: The Northman gave a shrug towards Daemian, "You all did just

fine." Logen offered a hand down to Daemian to help him up to his feet.[d]

Tesarik One: gold... well, they'd be able to tell at once the coins were a

bit heavier than normal gold coins for they were exceptionally pure gold. On

the front was a cracked shield with a bird symbol on the shield, on the back

were words

next after hooking the gold to his belt. Looking towards the tall man as well

arching an eyebrow waiting to hear the explination.::

Tesarik One: The townspeople were so happy to have the champions in town,

that they offered them free room and board for the night if any wished to

stay at the Knifedge Inne. Otherwise, they could return back to Navahla with

their winnings.

Tesarik One: Their winnings..... held the clue to the next place they needed

to go in the Hunt!

DaemianBerazalle: ::He held the little piece up to his left eye,

scrutinizing it carefully, shaking off the effects of the battle:: I guess

DaemianBerazalle: who had come along for this portion of their current

Roguish Luck: "I'll be staying." Logen set the Rook in to one of the pockets

of his long coat, the same went for the pouch of gold he had gained. "If

they're buying, I'm drinking my dinner.."[d]

Tesarik Five: "I'm spent.......I'll be staying." He sighed to that as he

looked down tot he queen in his hand. Up and down, trying to see just what it

was, or was used for. Though after a bit he tucked it away into the pouch he

was given before

Adal Ag Hamid: Well, he was going home. He'd sign as such to Daemian, but

him wandering off should also make that pretty obvious. He wouldn't have

trouble making it back on his own, that's how he generally travelled anyway.

Tesarik Five: looking to the gold and grinning. Oh, he did like gold.

a vision bereft: She was going back as well. It was hard enough in Maria's

inne, she certainly was uncomfortable with everything going on here. She

followed the monk with her dog quietly. Looking over a coin, reading the

elvish with a tilt of her head.

Adal Ag Hamid: They could have a nice fun walk back devoid of conversation!
