Tesarik One: Today was different. Maria wanted something, and she came into
the knowledge that this item could very possibly be in the swamps of Madder.
Tomb raiders were called to the Port Union! This was a treasure hunt. Maria
stood waiting
Tesarik One: for brave souls to arrive, though she wondered just who might
come to venture into the deepest areas of the Madder swamps. Westlea Marsh,
to be exact.
Lord Kissekatt: He was certainly all for raiding tombs to get more wealth.
Wars didn't come cheap, after all, and what would the people entombed care?
They were dead, they had no reason to care. Sure, there were curses and
whatnot, but that's what
Lord Kissekatt: those horrid priests were for. Anyhow, he made his say to
the Port Union, dressed in impeccable fashion as always (though the longcoat
with his big ol' family crest on the back tended to hide it while outdoors,
even if it was itself
Lord Kissekatt: fashionable), and wearing his bow and quiver of arrows on
his back, along with his satchel of supplies.
DaemianBerazalle: ::Swamps, Marshes, he was no stranger to traversing them.
He'd seen the notice posted and gathered up his gear, checking his potion
supply, donning his armor. Ancient tombs, treasure hunting . . . not so much
his forte', but still
Falqun Briathos: The aasimar healer wasn't too keen on tomb raiding, truly,
as that usually meant evil things were going to be afoot. She had quite the
intolerance for certain evil creatures. But, she was called and she came, to
act as healer. She approached, having donned pants and knee high boots
instead of a dress, and a tight fitting long sleeved shirt, with a high
collar, and gloves. Icky bugs in swamps.
DaemianBerazalle: . . . if it was something Maria wanted, there'd be a
chance that others might want it as well. He'd be there to do what he could
to ensure the prize came home, where it belonged. He wore his usual garb, a
tip of his hat given to
DaemianBerazalle: Falqun as he came to rest, leaning against a pillar at the
Port while he waited for the rest to arrive:: <d
Lord Kissekatt: His impeccable fashion was, of course, as bug-proof as it
was cold-proof, which was to say considerably. And yes, he had worn different
boots to avoid getting muck all on his feet. He was dressed nicely, not
stupidly! Fashion and
Lord Kissekatt: function, of course.
scales change: Maybe Kythin did not consider himself a Tomb Raider, neither
did he possess the scruples required to feel guilt over breaking into the
resting places of the dead. Though he was less than thrilled to be on an
excursion into the croc
scales change: (and were-croc) infested little pieces of hell on Arith that
Madder's geography sported in unpleasant ways. The Dragonkin came to Port
Union.. at least trying to play up the use of a slight disguise to mask the
burn-made addition to
scales change: his appearance, the armor made from the skin of his draconic
ancestor's own kind would suffice to cover up much of it at least. Well

Tesarik One: Maria held a small, metal box in her hand as she stood there
waiting. As folks approached, she nodded, giving an appreciative smile to
Falqun. "As some of you may or may not know, the necronian civilization has
spanned many worlds,
scales change: [lets not give that another notice. ha. moving on! ]
OnlineHost: Lord Kissekatt rolled 1 20-sided die: 15
Lord Kissekatt: Sees right through that silly attempt at disguise, but
doesn't at all care. Currently Maria was speaking, after all.
Tesarik One: including our own. They are an ancient civilization that
conquered existing kingdoms, and spread into an empire. Ekkad is their
capital city, and a pyramid, well ziggurat I should say to be proper, has
been found deep in the marsh
Tesarik One: of Westlea. My sources claim that there is a book in this
pyramid, of ancient spells and secret information never before uncovered....
and I want it. I have, through great expense I might add, secured something
that I am told will
Tesarik One: come in handy." She held the flat beaten metal box out, then
flipped it open. An amulet, of an odd shape and seemingly made of darkened
stone, sat in the box. She flipped it shut and held it out. "Who wants it?"
Lord Kissekatt: He really didn't want that trinket that she'd spent so much
money on, but he held out his hand anyway. If it was important, he should be
the one to hold onto it, naturally. If it ended up being unimportant, maybe
he'd forget to give
Lord Kissekatt: it back to her. "I'll take it."
DaemianBerazalle: ::He listened quietly as Maria spoke, looking around at
those present who had come as well as himself. He recognized Falqun and
Kythin, by scent if not by sight, though he was unfamiliar with the other. A
slight nod given as he
DaemianBerazalle: said he'd hold onto it. One less thing for him to worry
over, at least for the time being::
Falqun Briathos: Falqun smiled and nodded politely to Daemian, then already
started up her bit of magic to know the status and whereabouts of everyone.
It just helped her keep up. She listened to Maria, though she did not reach
for the amulet, her job was to keep them alive after all, not treasure hunt!
Tesarik One: "If we are lucky, this pyramid will truly be undiscovered and
still full of it's necronian treasures. You know what that means." She
winked, then nodded to the portal mage after handing the precious box off to
Lord Kissekatt. A
Tesarik One: portal sparked open, the sound of crickets and croaking heard,
it was shadowy, though daytime, due to the massive overhang of moss and tree
canopy. "Please, don't come back with some disgusting swamp rot disease."
Lord Kissekatt: He took the box from her and eyed the amulet again briefly,
noting the details for further reference, it's shape and everything, then
tucked the box into his satchel. And then there was the portal! Naturally,
he'd allow anyone else
Lord Kissekatt: to go through first, he preferred to stick towards the
middle or the rear of a group.
scales change: Kythin didn't bother giving voice to his opinions on who
should hold the potentially useful trinket. Odds were fairly ood that the one
holding it would just wind up being the target of some horrible, ancient trap
in the ziggurat.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He laughed softly as he heard Maria, taking up point
with his newly acquired spear in hand and at the ready. Rangers lead the way
. . . and he fit that bill::
scales change: Kythin snorted at Maria's 'warning'. " More likely we'll come
back dragging the kamians on our shins. " Gauntleted hands went for his axe
and shortsword before going for the portal.. oh wonderful.. crickets. -d
Tesarik One: A ziggurat, of course, was a pyramid built with terraced steps
instead of the flat sides. And just for a bit of ooc info, I'm basing some of
this on my own real life adventure into the Pyramid of Khafre in Giza in
1994!
Lord Kissekatt: Hopefully there'd be no hostile mummies then.
scales change: Hopefully they'd not been wishing they'd dragged that damn
bard with them. -d
Lord Kissekatt: Baldur will never, ever in his life wish that.
Tesarik One: Maria smirked, but nodded as they went through. They'd step
through the portal, and sink immediately to their thighs in gooey mud. Maria
made a face seeing that, then folded her arms. "Good luck." She called out
after them.
Tesarik One: Once they could turn around in the swampy land, they'd see the
ziggurat about 20 feet away, they'd have to slosh on over to the massive
thing.
Tesarik One: Unfortunately, this thing has not aged well. The bottom level
has sunk beneath the swamp, and the only entrance is two levels upwards. Any
steps have long since crumbled away.
Lord Kissekatt: Oh well that wasn't too far! He watched the others sink that
high up into the slop and took his bow off of his back to hold it in a hand
above the level of the muck, to avoid damaging it. The arrows ought to be
fine. Into the muck
Lord Kissekatt: he went, and started trudging over towards the ziggurat.
scales change: [ brb. aol issues. ]
OnlineHost: scales change has left the room.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He didn't let a bit of muck and mire slow him down.
He'd spent a good portion of his time wandering through worse with threats
all around. He kept his attention divided equally on the path they took and
on the group he was with.
DaemianBerazalle: He expected each was capable of making their way, but he'd
be ready to assist any that needed it:: <d>
Tesarik One: The ziggurat towered a bit over the trees, the treeline hit the
second level. They needed to be on the third (the first level is sunken). You
will have to climb your way up the rubble. Unless you have another way of
doing things,
Tesarik One: you will need to make two Athletics checks of DC15.
Falqun Briathos: She knew it. Even the knee high boots she wore didn't
protect her from the goo. "Sweet gods..." she murmured, as she sunk up to her
thighs, at least she wasn't too short, 5'10". She sloshed her way towards the
pyramid as well with the others, and tilted her head as she looked up the
edge.
Lord Kissekatt: He looked up at the ziggurat and then offered his bow to the
collective group, as well as his quiver of arrows. "Someone hold these for
me." Not a question.
Tesarik One: [ Let's hold a moment and see if Tim's coming back soon. ]
Tesarik One: brb
Lord Kissekatt: (brb as well)
DaemianBerazalle: <<Coffee break it is!
OnlineHost: scales change has entered the room.
Tesarik One: [ Proceed ]
Falqun Briathos: Falqun had her own longbow unstrung and in her quiver, she
moved over and took Dae's bow as she attempted to keep as much of herself out
of the muck and mire as possible. Being all muddy was going to make climbing
this that much harder.
DaemianBerazalle: ::Climbing . . . his nemesis. He didn't look forward to
the prospect, but he'd give it his best shot. Of all the times when rope
would be handy . . . something he'd need to have prepared for the next
time::
Falqun Briathos: Oh rope. She had 50 feet of silk rope in her pack. "Do we
need rope?" But what would they hook it to?
scales change: A fitting test grounds for his newest toy earned in his fiery
trials on the Islands.. Kythin put away his weaponry for the time being and
extracted the rolled up 'vine' from his pack and began putting it to use

Falqun Briathos: It was a shame that the feathers in her lashes and hair
were only from her angelic side, and not actually from her namesake, or she'd
just fly on up! She shifted her supplies a bit on her back, waiting.
scales change: necessary.. " Wouldn't get them the whole way.. but it'd get
them least to that first visible level unless they.. let go or fell..
whichever really. Wasting no further time he put the vine of brachiation to
use and would soon be try

Lord Kissekatt: Well assuming Falqun's post meant she took his bow and not
Dae's, it was time to climb. He opted to use his claws instead, since he
hadn't climbed anything in a while and it was fun! He moved up to the wall
and grabbed on as well as

Lord Kissekatt: he could, then shifted, dug his claws in, and started
attempting to scrabble on up that wall in kitty form.

Falqun Briathos: Oh yes, yes. Kissekatt's bow.
Tesarik One: Kythin, and Baldur are on the second level. You have one more
level. It must be climbed, DC15.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He motioned Falqun to climb up next, keeping his eyes
open for anything that might be thinking to sneak upon them::
Tesarik One: Kitty form, DC12.
Lord Kissekatt: Climb climb climb.
OnlineHost: Lord Kissekatt rolled 1 20-sided die: 1
Lord Kissekatt: Fall fall fall. Hopefully just down to the first level.

next level.

Lord Kissekatt: And if the door was just an entrance and was open, instead
of just a door, he'd peek in through it before looking to see if the rest of
them were making it.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He looked to Falqun with a wink then, grinning to her::
Race you? ::He chuckled softly, motioning her up, waiting to make sure she
got up safely::
Falqun Briathos: She began climbing up to the next level, trying to find
footholds in the rubble of the old pyramid.
OnlineHost: Falqun Briathos rolled 1 20-sided die: 19
Tesarik One: Falqun's up!
DaemianBerazalle: ::A slight nod to himself, and now he only needed to get
on up there with the rest. He took his time, looking for good handholds, as
good as could be found anyway::
OnlineHost: DaemianBerazalle rolled 1 20-sided die: 12
Falqun Briathos: She grinned over to him, and raced upwards fast as she
could!
Tesarik One: Not quite, try again Dae!
Tesarik One: Unless you got strength to add!
Lord Kissekatt: Oh the urge to do horrible cat things. As he watched the
rest of them climbing up, he really just wanted to charge and butt them right
off again. Instead he stretched out with a yawn and kneaded his claws into
the floor instead.
DaemianBerazalle: ::Mutterings of no coherent order could be heard as the
Ranger of the group seems to be having a struggle:: (No str bonus)
Lord Kissekatt: Minus that last instead.
DaemianBerazalle: ::Again he'd try, stubborn as an ox or worse, to make his
way up that crumbling structure::
OnlineHost: Mighty Gar thog has entered the room.
OnlineHost: DaemianBerazalle rolled 1 20-sided die: 16
Tesarik One: State to be added, since we haven't entered the pyramid yet!
scales change: The noble likely would not want to try butting the
Half-Dragon off of anything if he valued not being eaten! -d
Tesarik One: Up Dae went, all four are now on the level where the entrance
is located.
Tesarik One: Hold, for me to get Gar added.
Falqun Briathos: Falqun brushed the mud off her hands as much as she could,
then handed the noble's bow back to him with a slight frown. She'd hauled up
his stuff and hers!
DaemianBerazalle: ::He seemed none the worse for the climb, anyone paying
enough attention would note he was breathing normally despite the struggle it
was to make the climb. Using the butt of his spear, he'd knock off as much
of the muck and grime
DaemianBerazalle: from his own boots as was possible, not wanting to leave
any trail to be followed once they were inside::
Tesarik One: For Gar-Thog - you step out of the portal and sink to your
thighs in the swamp. The ziggurat style pyramid is sunk partially in the
swamp, you still need to get up two levels. The four in the group stand on
the level with the
Tesarik One: entrance.
Tesarik One: The steps, what once were steps, are just rubble. You are
slippery and the pyramid is difficult to climb. Soon as you state, go ahead
and make your entrance and then he'll have to climb up. Two athletics (add
strength) DC15.

Lord Kissekatt: Oh he'd want to try it if it worked, since it'd be amusing.
He wasn't done in his kitty form yet though. He batted at the bow when it was
handed back, then rolled onto his back and chewed on the captured weapon a
little. Not enough
Lord Kissekatt: to damage it or anything. Lucky she didn't try to pet him,
he would've chomped on her finger. Anyway, after another stretch, he snap
crackled and popped back to his human form, then put the bow and quiver on
his back once again with
Lord Kissekatt: a nod to Falqun. "Thank you."
Falqun Briathos: Kitty form. Right. Batting a thousand tonight. She put it
back on and just smirked to the kitty, she would have tried to pet him but
she was too icky. When he was all back in his normal form, she handed his
things over. "Quite welcome....what was your name? I'm Falqun. A White
Raven."

others of the group. Quietly, carefully. A shapechanger . . . handy to

keeping an eye for any
DaemianBerazalle: loose footing or noticeable traps to watch out for::
Tesarik One: Gar's up one level, go one more!
Lord Kissekatt: He cringed when the word 'raven' left her mouth and he took
an involuntary step back from her, luckily it was towards the wall rather
than the edge. He eyed her warily then. "As if one in my life was not plenty.
The gods must
Lord Kissekatt: dislike me. My name is Baldur Kissekatt, First Baron
Kissekatt, of Doxenia."
Mighty Gar thog: ~he walked along the edge, looking for the strongest spot,
then again reached as far as he could, away from the more crumbly edge and
tried to simply power upwards~
Falqun Briathos: "I am not a raven. It is an organization of healers." She
heard Baron, and gave a little respectful bow of her head. "Nice to meet you,
Baron Kissekatt." She turned and looked at the one climbing after them, and
would even reach down to help him if needed. "We've one more coming along."

Lord Kissekatt: "I am aware of that. My wife is quite literally a white

come across someone with some manners, however." He looked back to Kythin
then and lifted a brow. "I
Tesarik One: He's up!
Mighty Gar thog: (+3 too)
Lord Kissekatt: don't personally care if we abandon our late companion, but
that would be rather rude."
Tesarik One: You all have reached the entrance, the darkness is thick just
past the walls. There is no door it seems, but as you gather around the
entrance, two glowing red eyes shine forth to challenge the group
Tesarik One: before they are allowed to enter. If any tries to step into the
opening, they hit what seems like a brick wall even though it appears as only
darkness.
Falqun Briathos: "Oh, how very rare." White ravens were rare, and special,
that's why the group was named after them! She stood aside as the man joined
them, giving him a slight nod, then turned to stare into the opening as the
eyes appeared. That took her by surprise and she gasped.
DaemianBerazalle: ::Red eyes . . . he liked that trick. He activated his
dark sight, his own eyes flashing red for a brief moment as the spectrum of
vision shifted::
Tesarik One: A voice began, though at first it would be spoken in the
ancient necronian tongue, but oddly enough, after a moment or two though he
continues to speak necronian, it is translated in each of your minds to your
base language.
Lord Kissekatt: Hmm, just an opening with red eyes glowing? He tilted his
head and looked at those eyes for a moment. Perhaps the pendant could be
useful? Well before he went for it it started speaking anyhow, so he'd keep
it in the satchel for
Lord Kissekatt: now.
Tesarik One: "To enter, you must first prove you are worthy. You must answer
my question correctly within three tries. You may discuss, before giving an
answer. Will you be tested?"
scales change: Kythin thought better of arguing with Kissekatt, hardly worth
the time.. especially not when they had red eyes staring at them. How nice..
something that could no doubt see in the dark. Something he stopped
considering when the
DaemianBerazalle: ::He looked quietly at each member of the group, speaking
softly as he conferred:: I say we give it a go.
Lord Kissekatt: He wrinkled his nose at the voice's question, and replied to
it. "If we must. Get on with it." He didn't have all night! Deep down, he did
like riddles however, he hoped it was a good one.
Falqun Briathos: She nodded, Maria would not be happy if they didn't at
least try to get into this place.
scales change: voice came and even shifted to a dialect of draconic he
understood. How nice of whatever it was.. " Give your tests. " He answered,
in draconic.. then common.. when he considered the voice likely to be using a
spell. -d
Mighty Gar thog: ~he simply awaited, noticing they always had one who was in
a rush~
Tesarik One: [Don't cheat, try to solve before looking it up!]
Tesarik One: "If you throw me from the window,
Tesarik One: I will leave a grieving wife.
Tesarik One: Bring me back, but in the door, and
Tesarik One: You'll see someone giving life!"
Lord Kissekatt: Well his first thought was of throwing a child from the
window, which was a thought that made him smile, however briefly, since it
wasn't his child.
Falqun Briathos: Falqun lifted a dirty gloved hand to her chin and gave a
few taps, she'd never been too good at riddles, but she was giving it a go.
She moved towards the others, it had said they could discuss after all.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He took a moment and studied the clues contained in the
riddle, trying not to get too complex with it::
Mighty Gar thog: ~he mumbled to the group~ wording... but in the door...
Tesarik One: ^v^ 2/10/2013 12:22:56 AM ^v^
scales change: Not quite sharing his draconic ancestor's inherent
intelligence, Kythin did not find the riddle an easy one to wrap his mind
around. He hated wordplay though it didn't stop him from trying to solve it
as a secret code of sorts
Lord Kissekatt: "What's that?" Said at Gar thog's mumbling. "Speak up if
you've got something to share with the rest of us, or hold your tongue."
scales change: , which in some ways it could be. [ well I'm going with a

DaemianBerazalle: So . . . what would leave a wife grieving if thrown from
the window? ::He was stumped for the time being, but talking it out always
helped:: What would bring life from being "but in the door?"
scales change: [19* -+5 via secret scripts/codes knowledge skill]
Mighty Gar thog: A man. ~he grinned~
Lord Kissekatt: "N." Said directly to the eyes.
Lord Kissekatt: "As in the letter N."
Mighty Gar thog: Ah, widow, donor.
DaemianBerazalle: ::And that seemed to make sense to him, and he grinned as
it was indeed a simple thing::
Tesarik One: "You are correct. If N is thrown from window, you have widow.
If you put N back in the door, you have a donor." The red eyes faded, and
into each hand they'd feel something cold, and hard. A square piece of gold.
The voice echoed,
Lord Kissekatt: He didn't have most of his points in intelligence for
nothing.
Tesarik One: "Your passage into the afterlife."
scales change: Kythin had a tendacy to think in complex terms, a
short-sighted view of things to be certain. Kissekatts answer was the
opposite of that thought process. Still he remained silent as he mulled over
it, considering the voice's reply
Lord Kissekatt: "Oh splendid, I always wanted passage to the afterlife at my
age." He scowled, and eyed the square piece of gold, then pushed a hand
towards the entrance to see if the empty space was less brick wall-ish now.
scales change: positive.. he gave the feline shapeshifter a somewhat
respectful nod. -d
Tesarik One: Very softly, they'd then hear, as the first one stepped into
the passage.... "Your answer will assist you later."
DaemianBerazalle: ::And therein lies the second riddle they'd face. He
examined the square piece of gold he'd received, looking to see if there were
any designs or markings on it::
Tesarik One: Yes, they could enter.
Tesarik One: Ancient markings of the Ekkad civilization, and the face of a
man.
Lord Kissekatt: Well that settled, he'd again let someone else go in first.
He did examine the piece of gold more closely as well, while waiting someone
to lead on. Hm.
Falqun Briathos: She clasped the gold that appeared in her hand, then tucked
it into a pocket for safe keeping. She did not wish to go first, nor last, so
she waited until there was a middle spot to proceed within the entrance.
Tesarik One: The passage takes you about 10 feet into the darkness. What
will you do about the darkness, before we proceed?
scales change: Considering the sorts that were involved in this little
treasure hunt, Kythin took point more out of the obvious than truly caring to
be the first one inside the ziggurat. The current half-dragon went on
inside.. and encountered the
Lord Kissekatt: Use his lycanthrope-granted dark vision!
DaemianBerazalle: ::He tucked the coin away into a safe enough spot for the
time being, taking note of the markings and the face. He'd keep his dark
sight active as he began moving down the passage, ensuring he didn't move too
far from the group::
scales change: issue of darkness.. wonderful. Why couldn't his wyrm-tooth
ring provide darkvision? -
scales change: d
Falqun Briathos: A soft halo of light appeared 'round her head, not light
enough for everyone but it would assist her with seeing her way. (Halo of
Light)
Mighty Gar thog: ~was standing close to Falqun, trying to be more
gentlemanly and not rush in first~
Mighty Gar thog: Who shall go first? ~he reached into a pouch for his object
that would help~
Falqun Briathos: She smiled towards the unknown man, and leaned over,
whispering, "I'm Falqun, the healer. Do you wish to share my light?" She
could make it brighter.
scales change: " Hmmph. " Murmured Kythin before opening the red bag at his
side and shoving a hand in to grasp one of those elemental flames inside in
order to wrap his fist in flame.. and provide himself a light source (and
become an obvious
Mighty Gar thog: Yes, tanks. GarThog, da healer. ~he smiled, awaiting an
answer on the order first~
Lord Kissekatt: Well he certainly didn't want to go last either, if they got
attacked from behind that would be disastrous. He'd try and situate himself
towards the middle of their small group, and let the more hardy types take
the lead. And if the
Tesarik One: A bit of light, darkvision, that helped. The tunnel inclines,
but, you notice it is only 4 feet high, and 3 feet wide.

Lord Kissekatt: glowing ones wanted to stick out like a pair of sore thumbs,
that was fine with him as well.
scales change: [ bag of flame, 1 charge spent. ]
Tesarik One: Noted.
Falqun Briathos: "Greetings GarThog." She followed along, then noted the
tunnel got smaller. Hmm. She would have to bend over quite a bit.
Mighty Gar thog: ~he sighed, placing his long lasting light sorce back in
the pouch, thinking lack of communication cost that guy a charge of his
magical object~
DaemianBerazalle: ::He made some quick estimations of where the path might
lead, gauging its current height and width, looking to Kythin then:: Makes
no difference to me which of us goes first.
Tesarik One: Go scoreboard order if you wish.
Tesarik One: Kythin 0/34 [18] || Daemian 0/32 [19] || Falqun 0/39 [18]
(0/44) || Baldur 0/23 [13] || GarThog 0/26 [12] (0/12)
Lord Kissekatt: He was rather tall as well, this wasn't going to be
pleasant. He looked back to Falqun. "Falqun, could I trouble you to carry my
weaponry again?"
DaemianBerazalle: ::He took a moment, inhaling the scent of those with him.
He'd be able to recognize each one individually now should anything happen
that could possibly obscure his sight of them::
Mighty Gar thog: Okay, lets set up an order den... ~he moved in front of
Baldur, behind the woman~
Lord Kissekatt: Of course he could, they all smelled like swamp muck.
Falqun Briathos: She nodded that she would, and reached over, adding his
quiver and bow to her back with her own weapons, and pack, and waited for her
turn to nearabouts begin her crawl up.
Lord Kissekatt: Er, no, he wasn't going last. Gar thog would be lucky if he
didn't get a chunk torn out of him. Into his cat form he went once again, so
he wouldn't even be cramped. Suckers! He gave a rub up against one of
Falqun's legs as he
Lord Kissekatt: made his way a bit more to the front. He actually wouldn't
mind scouting ahead a bit with it so cramped, he was more mobile. It made
logical sense.
scales change: Kythin selected .. not speaking a bloody word to the lot of
them, especially the one he recognized the name of just enough to be aware he
was the fool that had all too visibly sided himself with Runik. Hadn't they
been ordered to
Tesarik One: Baldur first then, Kythin, Daemian, Falqun, GarThog. That's the
order, now move!
scales change: kill him on sight? Well no reason to bother with them. For
now.. he chose just to move on .. and consquentally play the meat shield. -d
Lord Kissekatt: Sneak sneak sneak. He wouldn't get too far ahead of Kythin,
so he could dart back past him if something hostile showed up, but he'd try
and stay enough ahead that he wasn't illuminated much by that fire either.
Mighty Gar thog: ~standing a mere five three, it was not hard to go for him.
He slipped the gold piece into the pouch, keeping his hand on the wand, the
other in the pouch with his moonglobe flashlight, not removing it as yet~
Falqun Briathos: Yep, in her spot she went, bending down to her knees she'd
begin to move along the short passage, trying to make herself as small as
possible. At least it wasn't a terrible incline.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He moved with ease despite the cramped spaces, his spear
held easily along his side. He kept his attention on the group from his
position in their travelling order, splitting half to those in front, the
remainder to those behind.
Tesarik One: Not terrible indeed, but the stone was a bit moist and swampy,
the swamp was seeping in. Along they went for a while, then they got to a
small section of 7 foot high, 3 feet wide - still in order - but then they
faced a decline,
Tesarik One: much sharper than the incline.
DaemianBerazalle: Falqun he'd keep his eyes on, she was their life-line,
quite literally. There was a bit of unease about him, more for the lack of
knowing in regards to the shapechanger and the other newcomer::
Tesarik One: There was no hiding the fact that the slick stone was going to
prove difficult moving downwards. It was slimy, to put it bluntly, and as
soon as Baldur stepped into it, he'd begin to slip and slide, despite those
cat claws. Too much
Tesarik One: slime! Everyone, you must make another roll... Acrobatics
Check, to keep yourself from going willy nilly down the "slide". DC15. I'll
call the order.
Tesarik One: Baldur-
Lord Kissekatt: Of course. Those claws were just never going to come in
handy. He should just stay in Doxenia where things were climbable. He made no
noise other than scrabbling of claws as he started sliding.
OnlineHost: Lord Kissekatt rolled 1 20-sided die: 10
Mighty Gar thog: Second, grab hold of him... pull him back!
Lord Kissekatt: (+5 acrobatic, +3 quickness if that helps)
Lord Kissekatt: (Either way it's at least 15)
OnlineHost: scales change rolled 1 20-sided die: 7
Tesarik One: You are able to use your claws to keep from sliding down crazy
like. We are still in the same order.
Lord Kissekatt: Now he was just surfing down it, cool! (brb)
Tesarik One: Baldur, you find yourself at a stone wall at the bottom.
scales change: (20)
Tesarik One: Dae-
DaemianBerazalle: ::He took note of the drop-off as Baldur and Kythin went.
He warned Falqun and Thog of the upcoming incline and leaned into it, sliding
down as if he was walking::
OnlineHost: DaemianBerazalle rolled 1 20-sided die: 18
Tesarik One: You got it!
DaemianBerazalle: <32(+9 quickness, +5 Acrobatics)>
Tesarik One: Falq-
scales change: [ +5 acrobatics, +8 quickness* just so its stated..]
Falqun Briathos: Oh dear gods, more slippery. She moved into the passage,
and began to slip and slide, using her gloved hands to try and catch the wall
so she wouldn't go sliding down....and crash into everyone else. Oh no!
OnlineHost: Falqun Briathos rolled 1 20-sided die: 9
Falqun Briathos: (17)
Tesarik One: Falqun, you are able to keep yourself from sliding like a crazy
woman down the passage.
Tesarik One: GarThog-
Mighty Gar thog: ~he stopped, looking at the incline~ Anyone have a hammer
and spikes? Or something large? if we need to rush back, having a way out
would be good.
Tesarik One: Everyone was down at the bottom of the incline, they could
barely hear poor GarThog, he was left alone at the top!
Lord Kissekatt: His ears perked up at Gar thog's talking, since he had good
ears on him in his cat form, and then his nose twitched and he pawed at the
wall he wound up at.
Tesarik One: The wall looks solid, except there is an odd depression in the
middle of it. (Baldur, roll an Insight)
Lord Kissekatt: He would've responded vocally but it would've just been a
meow, and he didn't' carry around spikes anyway.
scales change: Kythin wasn't worried about ways out anyway.. that's what
Maria's gift of the Heart of Obsidian Rings were for now weren't they!?
Instead the dragonkin put his attention towards examination of where they had
landed -d
Mighty Gar thog: ~he rubbed the incline, noting that the slippery surface
would even impede the cat-man if they had to run out~
Tesarik One: Anyone studying the depression can make an Insight check.
OnlineHost: scales change rolled 1 20-sided die: 16
scales change: [ no bonus. ]
Lord Kissekatt: He shifted back into his human form and looked back to the
group to see if everybody was around, then looked back to the indent. (Keen
Memory should allow him to see the significance in it without a roll needed,
I'd think)
Tesarik One: (Indeed)
DaemianBerazalle: ::His eyes were turned outwards, down the path they had
yet to move along. His Dark Sight would give them some warning, and his
skills were better used for that purpose::
Lord Kissekatt: "Hm." To his satchel went a hand, and he pulled out that
box, opened it up, then produced the amulet and pressed it into the
depression. "Is the one that stayed up there coming or not?"
Falqun Briathos: She tried not to slip around, they were still standing on
an incline after all. Caught up against a wall, that she couldn't see well
enough to figure anything out. She held herself by two hands against the
walls, and called up to GarThog, "You joining us, GarThog?"
scales change: Noting the depression came up with only one legitmate use for
it involving the amulet the feline shifter had in his possession. " Leave the
fool, if he can not keep up he is not worth the trouble. " -d
Mighty Gar thog: ~he reached into the pouch and communicated (Amethyst of
awareness)~ Shall we go on down, or is it too dangerous?
Tesarik One: The amulet fit in perfectly, and the door swung open.
Falqun Briathos: "We cannot stop now." Even the healer knew that. "We have
an opening." She spoke again, unsure of whether GarThog could even hear her.
Lord Kissekatt: "We're not all in the midst of dying, if that's what you
mean." He agreed with Kythin, and it was rare enough he agreed with anyone.
He gestured to the now open door. "After you." He'd done enough leading from
the front for now.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He gave a slight growl at the pace they were setting,
speaking aloud, one of the few times he'd done so:: If we question every
turn, we will be better off going home empty handed and learning how to knit.
Mighty Gar thog: ~he looked down the incline, awaiting the Amethyst to
answer him~
scales change: Baldur got a nod out of the dragonkin choosing to progress on
rather than remain behind waiting on a coward. His movement would be cautious
however.. one hand going to release his steel shield from its place on his
back and activate
scales change: its animation enchantment in order to get it doing something
useful. -d
Mighty Gar thog: ~of course, to most, he would just seem insane, talking to
himself, but he knew better~
Lord Kissekatt: He needed one of those. Ooooo. A shield he wouldn't have to
lug around? That could be useful. Anyway, his 'not in the midst of dying'
comment was said in Gar thog's general direction. And that was all he had, he
wasn't going to
Lord Kissekatt: shout! Might cave the place in.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He moved into the room directly behind Kythin, checking
over his shoulder to make sure Falqun and Baldur followed without much
trouble as well. His senses open, he kept watch of the new room they were
in, ever aware that there
DaemianBerazalle: second riddle could very well be here, or further in::
Lord Kissekatt: And he'd follow after the two more fighterly looking types,
after taking his bow back from Falqun!
DaemianBerazalle: their*
Tesarik One: The group well..most of the group have entered a large room
carved of stone blocks, there is a short drop (a foot or two) into a
depression where a large stone sarcophagus sits. But that is not all, there
are skeletons scattered all
Tesarik One: around, thieves and adventurers by the look of them, but
treasure? Nothing can be seen by the dead skellies, and the sarcophagus.

Tesarik One: Info given in IM if you passed.
Lord Kissekatt: He squinted into the room for a moment, then started cursing
under his breath in Doxenian. Something about trudging through all that muck
and not even getting here first. A bit more colorful though.
scales change: Looking about with his flame-sheathed hand lifted above his
vision to provide suitable illumination the the dragonblooded fellow turned
to looking about all over the skeleton littered room until his steel-hued
eyes
Tesarik One: Unfortunately, that tunnel that only Baldur spotted also
allowed swamp gas to seep in. As Kythin walked in with the flame....BOOM!
OnlineHost: Tesarik One rolled 2 5-sided dice: 4 1

Mighty Gar thog: ~since all others went on ahead, not even the cat would
hear the conversation. But the explosion he heard from up top~
Lord Kissekatt: Apparently his eyes worked so good his nose failed him. Or
else he would've warned the man. (+5 amulet of armor)
Tesarik One: Kythin 0/34 [18] || Daemian 0/32 [19] || Falqun 3/39 [18]

Mighty Gar thog: ~well, he expected a trap. No one ever listened to him. He
simply sat down then slid down the incline~
DaemianBerazalle: ::He moved close enough to get a better view of the
sarcophagus, trying to keep from triggering anything nasty while moving to
inspect it::
Tesarik One: No need to roll Gar Thog, as the door is open, you'll simply
slide right into the room.
scales change: A series of curses draconic and another darker language came
from Kythin as he took yet another example of fire to his person. This truly
was getting ridiculous. Clearly some fiery deity had taken exception to his
existence
Tesarik One: It did not look like the thieves had touched the sarcophagus,
no signs of scratching from the lid being moved or anything.
Lord Kissekatt: That was not even a trap. Not in the traditional sense. He
brushed his clothes off and made sure he wasn't on fire, then gave Kythin a
scowl. But then he stepped into the room further to examine the tunnel, and
the skeletons. He'd
Lord Kissekatt: leave someone else to check out the undoubtedly cursed
sarcophagus.
Falqun Briathos: She crept along the walls, sliding her hands along the
stone surface, just seeing if there was anything else letting that halo of
light light her way.

Tesarik One: The skeletons had been there so long that the only thing worth
salvaging was the silver in their pockets. All in all.... about 10 old silver
coins.
Mighty Gar thog: ~reaching the bottom, he looked about, wand still in hand.
seeing no one down, he just rose to his feet and searched the nearest
skeleton~
Lord Kissekatt: Well hey, those were old silver coins. He'd pocket them.
MIght be of value to a collector.

Mighty Gar thog: ~if any were on the one he searched, he'd pocket the coins~
DaemianBerazalle: ::He studied the sarcophagus a bit closer now, sure it
hadn't been tampered with, looking to see if there were any inclinations it
might tie in with the coin they'd been given::
Lord Kissekatt: Thankfully he had gloves on, or else he wouldn't even touch
the damn things. He did make sure to put them deep into the satchel so he
didn't grab one bare handed by accident.
Falqun Briathos: "Friends. I have found something." She turned her head
upwards, at the wall behind the sarcophagus. There was something etched
there.....
Mighty Gar thog: ~tried not to chuckle, thinking they could be cursed, but
it was doubtful. Time would tell of their true value~
DaemianBerazalle: ::Hearing Falqun, he took a moment from his musings,
looking to where she pointed to see if he could make out what was etched in
the wall::
Tesarik One: Indeed, etchings in the necronian had been found about 7 feet
up on the wall.
Lord Kissekatt: Yep, he'd head on over as well after carefully pocketing
some silver.
Tesarik One: NEKKANDRNETHENL
scales change: After his healthy exercise of half the draconic vocabulary of
swears and a fair deal of black tongue, Kythin paid more attention to his
surrondings. And.. wound up nearer to Falqun and came up with much the same
analyst as her no
Tesarik One: As far as Dae and the sarcophagus, the lid could be slid open
with a Strength check but that's all he'd notice, that the lid COULD be
opened.
DaemianBerazalle: Hmm . . . the lid seems like it could be opened, though I
don't know if that's the wisest course of action. ::He said, gesturing to
the sarcophagus. He was more focused on the word that was etched out,
removing all the N's from it
Falqun Briathos: "Nekkandrnethenl? Is that the man's name?" She furrowed her
brow.
scales change: doubt. As for the words he'd no to figure them out by way of
his knowledge of secret scripts.. or comparing them to his known languages..
odds were he'd not figure it out.. who could say. -d
DaemianBerazalle: and looking over to Falqun:: Or our first riddle is a
clue here.
Falqun Briathos: "Ah, yes." She quieted, and let the smart ones do the work.
Lord Kissekatt: "Ekkadrethel? Sounds like rubbish to me."
scales change: [ assuming its not just necronian.. knowledge check? ]
Tesarik One: Ok.
DaemianBerazalle: ::Of course, he was guessing at that last part he added, a
slight shrug of his shoulders given:: With or without the n's, it's all
rubbish to me.
Mighty Gar thog: ~he decided to search the rest of the skeletons, never know
what one might find~

and rusted and crap.
Tesarik One: It kinda looks like a necronian word....
scales change: A pity Morgan had disappeared on him.. he knew the arcanist
was capable of this necronian tongue. Something he'd of course not bothered
to learn.. how unforunate. Since the others did not appear to know of it
either, Kythin took to
scales change: looking more at the wall.. considering the evidence tht it
could be moved somehow..(spot/search check)
scales change: that*
DaemianBerazalle: ::He looked over the word, and now the fun began, tying it
into the rest of the riddle:: So . . . what does Ekkadrethel mean? A name,
or a clue?
Mighty Gar thog: ek kadrethel ~he said as he searched skeletons and bones,
even taking one as a club, in the hand with the wand~
OnlineHost: scales change rolled 1 20-sided die: 11
Tesarik One: Click. The outline of a door appeared, pushed forward a bit.
Mighty Gar thog: ... anyone know da language? Tink it means portal.
Lord Kissekatt: Wait, what? Did he just not say it right? He scowled in the
direction of that click.
Tesarik One: Yes, Baldur said it right! DM was just slow on the draw.
Mighty Gar thog: ~he shrugged as he collected silver coins, liking the old
things.~
Lord Kissekatt: Nooooo.
Lord Kissekatt: The mechanism was old and rusty. It took a second to open.
scales change: Kythin did not much care who had managed saying the word
right.. he cared only about progressing, and remaining alive.. too many
deaths on his record as it was! -d
Lord Kissekatt: The DM is flawless! Anyway. There was that door. "Oh good.
More mystery."
Tesarik One: And open it did though, into a square room with a statue of a
man standing within a gilded ancient boat, with his hand held out.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He hated when things worked when he opened his mouth.
It's why he didn't speak much. While Ky was checking the sarcophagus and the
wall, he moved to take a look through the opening in the door, staying in the
room with the

corpse, or a moving angry dessicated corpse."
Tesarik One: anyone have a knowledge (mythology)?
Tesarik One: Roll for Detect Traps unless you have a skill.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He was at the door, looking into the room which their
secret fun word had opened. He knew better than to fight mummies if it could
be avoided::
Lord Kissekatt: Just nobility/loyalty and geography.

must pay the boatman to take them." She pulled out that square gold coin.
Falqun Briathos: "Did not the red eyes tell us this was our passage to the
afterlife?"
Mighty Gar thog: (Anthropoly archealogy, monster lore)
Tesarik One: Ok folks....we got Falqun standing in the square room with the
boatman statue holding his hand out. We've got Kythin checking for traps, did
that get rolled?
scales change: " ... Ferryman? " Made sense.. and left the dragonkin to
leave Falqun to her new profession of scholar. -d
scales change: [ since he doesn't have the skill.. nope lol ]
Lord Kissekatt: "True." Said in response to Falqun. He hadn't heard that
myth, but now it all came together. He produced his own square gold coin,
then frowned. "I'm in no rush to see the afterlife, perhaps you should try
first." He had gone into
Mighty Gar thog: Yes... ya put da coin in da open hand. Sarcophagus first...
Lord Kissekatt: the doorway of the square room at least!
Lord Kissekatt: He was waiting to see what everyone else was doing with that
sarcophagus before committing to the next room, however.
Tesarik One: Does anyone wish to roll for detect traps on the sarcophagus,
or roll the strength to open it?
Falqun Briathos: She paused at the door, turning around with that gold coin
in hand, to see what they were doing with the sarcophagus. She wasn't putting
the coin in first, what if she was poofed to the heavens, and no healer was
left? Well, in a manner of speaking, GarThog was a healer.
DaemianBerazalle: ::Well . . . he'd already seen the afterlife. Been to the
edge of death and life, and ahead just was more life to be found. He was
leaving the sarcophagus alone, moving into the room where Falqun and Baldur
had already gone::

mummy, I'd rather you not be poofed into the afterlife while we're dealing
with it."
Tesarik One: DC13 Strength!
Mighty Gar thog: ~he walked over to the sarcophagus, looking at the eyeslots

Lord Kissekatt: "Well thank the gods we wasted all that time staring at it,
then. You couldn't have mentioned that a bit sooner?" Back to the ferryman
room his attention went.
Tesarik One: GarThog, do you wish to open the sarcophagus?
DaemianBerazalle: ::He had no interest in disturbing one's resting spot,
fishing out the coin he'd been given and preparing to place it in the
ferryman's grasp once all were ready to progress::
scales change: " You'd rather risk stepping on a pressure plate connected to
the bloody thing? " He certainly didn't.. last few times wound up causing
painful things to happen to him. B ut moving on..-d
Mighty Gar thog: (No)
Tesarik One: Ferryman room it is. As said before, the ferryman statue is
holding his hand out, standing upon a small gilded boat.
scales change: Clearly Falqun should pay the ferryman. -d
Falqun Briathos: When the others decided against opening the sarcophagus,
she turned and stepped back into the ferryman's room, holding that gold
ancient coin in her hand, ready to drop it in the man's hand.
Lord Kissekatt: Clearly someone more expendable should.
Falqun Briathos: Dae was gonna! She'd drop hers at the same time as Dae's!
Falqun Briathos: As she did, her eyes widened. "Oh!"
DaemianBerazalle: ::What did one of his kind have to fear from such a
venture? His coin was placed into the ferryman's hand, watching for any sign
of movement from the statue. It was an ancient crypt, after all::
scales change: Baldur obviously should have been doing the coin business
then!
scales change: Useless robber-barons. -d
Falqun Briathos: She stepped forward, to the others, she disappeared through
the wall behind the statue.
Lord Kissekatt: Will remember this narrative conversation when he's ruling
all of Doxenia.
Mighty Gar thog: ~he decided to go first. he stepped right up and placed the
coin in the ferrymans hand, the wand and bone in his other hand~,
DaemianBerazalle: ::His gaze went from the ferryman to the wall behind, and
only then did he start looking for a path that could take him to that
revealed wall::
Lord Kissekatt: Hm. Well now she'd gone and disappeared. He frowned at that,
then weighed which group he'd rather be with. Yep, the one with the healer.
Into the hand his coin went.
Mighty Gar thog: ~first of those remaining, that is~
Tesarik One: When each place the coin into the ferryman's hand, the wall
behind him disappears and a room of treasure is seen. This is the most ornate
room they've seen yet. The walls are brightly painted showing the funeral
procession of the

crows, soldiers, and a long string of barely clad slave girls are all painted
heading into the pyramid. A group of scholars holding scrolls is pictured....
that same

noted as being urns of square gold and silver pieces, piles of gemstones,
clay jars of scrolls (though many have turned to dust), and in another jar
Tesarik One: are six rods, each a different color with an animal carved into
it. There is also a chest, that looks to be made of glass enclosing green
slime. But, there is little time to notice treasure, as the guardian of this
room pulls from
Tesarik One: the wall, a flat creature of stone and paint, carrying a heavy
stone scroll with the weight of a sledgehammer. A look of menace is eternally
painted on it's crocodilian face.
Lord Kissekatt: Well now, this was more like it. Although with the fact that
the wall in was clearly magic, and all this treasure was stiill here, he had
a feeling the treasure wasn't leaving. Which just made him scowl some more.
That scowl would
Lord Kissekatt: probably become permanent when the guardian made its
appearance known, and he started the process of stringing his bow.
"Naturally."
Mighty Gar thog: ~oh no! His mental trap detector was ringing. He stepped
where the wall had been, but did not enter fully~
Tesarik One: The relief golem moved fairly quickly for what it was, a
construct. Dae was targetted by the creature, it stepped forward and slammed
that scroll down against one shoulder.

Lord Kissekatt: That got him scowling even still, because he just got his

unstrung it again, muttering.
scales change: Now that seemed incredibly unlikely as a guardian.. Kythin
wasn't quite ready to be letting his guard down about the place. Not that he
wasn't going to raid everything he could possibly carry from it. -d
DaemianBerazalle: ::He held onto that combat edge for a moment or two,
keeping his guard up while the dust settled::
Tesarik One: There they were, that could not possibly be the ONLY guardian
could it? They were in the treasure room. Four heavy stone urns filled with
square gold pieces and old silver. Gems scattered of all types. Clay jars of
old scrolls. An
Tesarik One: urn with six rods - frog, python, lizard, fish, spider,
bird..... and a green slime chest.
Mighty Gar thog: Okay, startying loading up da gemstones... Da scrolls are
harder to handle, need to be gentle. ~he walked over and tried to lift the
urn with the rods in~
Lord Kissekatt: Of course it could be. He didn't necessarily think it was,
but it sure could be. Either way, if the rest of them were made of stone his
bow wouldn't be any good anyway. He cringed away from the rods when he saw
one of them had a

that one so I can take it home to my wife, I'd be much obliged." He was going
to try and get some gems. Anything he could turn into gold would be nice.
Green slime chest? No.
Tesarik One: Well the chest looked to be made of thin glass, with slime
between the glass.
Mighty Gar thog: ~he opened the urn, taking out the rods, all six at once~
scales change: Learning his lesson in prior missions.. he let one of the
others pick at one of the urns before he'd go for raiding one. That being
said.. he'd probably examine the chest a little later.-d
Falqun Briathos: "I do not see the tome that Maria wanted." She did not
touch anything, not even one piece of gold or a pretty sapphire she saw.
Well, it was tempting. She tapped her fingers against her side.
Mighty Gar thog: By da way... da book is likely in da chest... breal da
inner glasds, it gets destroyed. need to crack da outer glass and burn da
slime.
Mighty Gar thog: *break
Lord Kissekatt: Oh, right. They came here for a book. He remembered that
now. He stared at Gar thog for a moment, then looked to ...literally anyone
else. "Can someone who does not speak like a child translate that drivel for
me?"
DaemianBerazalle: ::He watched Thog, who spoke of gathering gems while not
following his own advice. He crossed his arms over his chest as he tried
getting someone else to do what he suggested, then motioned to the chest::
By all means, see to it
DaemianBerazalle: yourself.
scales change: " Crack the exterior glass, burn away the slime and retrieve
the likely tome from within. " -d
Lord Kissekatt: "Why not simply open it carefully and not break any of the
glass?"
scales change: " You asked for a translation, not a suggestion. "
Mighty Gar thog: Cause da slime will ooze over da edges and destroy da
contents inside.
Tesarik One: There was a small keyhole in the front.
Mighty Gar thog: ~he knew how to set traps. Obviously, they did not~
Lord Kissekatt: "Fair." He crouched down to examine the chest more
carefully. "Rare though it is that it'd be useful to have some thieving gypsy
gutter trash present, this might be one of them."
Tesarik One: If you wish to break into the chest, it has 7 hit points. If
you hit over 7, you will break the inner glass.
Lord Kissekatt: "Anybody see a key anywhere in here?" Or had he? He thought
back.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He began studying the contents of the shattered
golem/guardian critter, seeing if any of its broken pieces could be used as
the key Baldur was asking about::
scales change: Weren't there rods to something they could be using to unlike
where a key was? Who could say really! " .. Might see if those " Motioning to
said items " can be used in finding the missing key.. " Were there openings
someplace? Keys
scales change: for a key, ha! -d
Tesarik One: No, the key was nowhere in THIS room.
Tesarik One: The rods were each made of gemstone, carved with the critters.
They had no key.
Mighty Gar thog: Da key, silly lads, is back in da sarcophagus...
Lord Kissekatt: "Perhaps in that damned sarcophagus."
Tesarik One: Mwahaha...cough...cough.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He looked to Thog then as he addressed them as "silly"::
When you've done something more than show up late, and snatch up all the
things that look interesting, you may address me as anything you wish.
Tesarik One: (It has been about 3 hours, if anyone needs to leave, then you
are free to leave and still receipt xp/gp/loot)
Lord Kissekatt: That manner of speaking was rising his ire, but he managed
to not put an arrow through the man's throat. For now. He did close his eyes
and pinch the bridge of his nose to compose himself, however.
Mighty Gar thog: Care for advice, or ya wish to be pigheaded more?
scales change: " ...Gar Thog, shut you thrice-damned Tenebrous forsaken maul
before I cave it in with my axe. Aren't we suppose to be killing you for
publicly siding with Runik? " -d
DaemianBerazalle: Until then, I'd save the insults for those deserving of
them.
Lord Kissekatt: "Wait, we're supposed to be killing him?"
Falqun Briathos: "Runik?" She frowned, looking between them all. "Let us put
personal issues behind us, until we get out of here alive. Please." She said
gently.
Mighty Gar thog: Who joined Runik? Garthog has yet to meet dem?
Lord Kissekatt: "This is a waste of time. Somebody go open that damned
sarcophagus and see if the key is in it. Now."
Mighty Gar thog: ~he placed the rods into his backpack, then moved to the
pile of gems, placing a few into the pack next~
Falqun Briathos: "The matter at hand.... threefold. Maria's book. The key.
Getting out of here."

Tesarik One: stairs, going down.
scales change: " Well fuck. "
Lord Kissekatt: Snicker. He was about to go try and disrupt the guy anyway.
Well, first he was going to ask for the bird capped rod, he really did want a

sarcophagus. Looking to each of them, she then frowned. "I will go down and
see what is there. You all stay here.... and do not kill each other yet." She
could protect herself, she really could, she just got very exhausted
fighting. She was probably stronger than them all. She slid into the
sarcophagus and started down the stairs, her little halo of light moving down
with her till she disappeared.
Lord Kissekatt: "Or to not move the chest at all, to avoid breaking it, you
dolt." He stood up then and stretched out a bit, to go see what was going on
with the sarcophagus. "Damnit." Shame Erhine didn't pick NOW to check in on
him.
Tesarik One: The rods are loot, you can let me know in IM which animal you
want at the end.
Tesarik One: No worries.
DaemianBerazalle: Might be safer for you to keep your tongue silent. ::He
spoke softly, intending to do nothing to help this person. He moved over to
keep an eye out for Falqun's return::
Falqun Briathos: Down she went, into the....room.
scales change: Well not to disregard the healer's words.. but Daemian had
summed it up well once.. protect the healer. " Afraid not Falqun.. " Besides
he owed her for healing him when he'd 'betrayed' the Obsidian Heart. -d
scales change: Yep, he followed the healer.. -d
Tesarik One: It is a large room, full of dead bodies, all dressed in their
finest (yet rotting) clothing, and many covered in jewelry. The real
sarcophagus is down there, as well as the body of his Queen, his slave girls,
his servants, his pets
Tesarik One: and a retinue of his soldiers who all had to go into the
pyramid with his body, that was the burial rites after all. There are jars
and jars of wine, but if anyone happens to check, all soured.
Falqun Briathos: She did not mind one bit if Kythin came to protect her. She
still went though. And when she looked around, she gazed towards Kythin,
frowning. "These people were put in here alive."
Mighty Gar thog: ~he then pushed his wand into his backpack, handle bit
poking out. He held the bone as a weapon now and simply removed his moonglobe
flashlight now~
Tesarik One: The body of the king is embalmed. The others.... mummified for
the most part due to the swamp not seeping in, just dusty. Lots and lots of
flesh dust.
scales change: The fact that the people had been put in the crypt alive..
did not really surprise him, knowing the religious practices as he did. " ..
It was part of their religious practices. Incredibly wasteful.. the arrogant

Lord Kissekatt: Being in a surly mood, he went all cat-like again and
debating marking his territory all around the treasure room.
Lord Kissekatt: began debating*
scales change: If the cat did.. Kythin was having Baldur steak for dinner.

Tesarik One: It was a delicate golden key, on a chain around her neck.
Lord Kissekatt: He hissed right at Gar thog after that speech, ears
flattened against his head, fangs bared.
scales change: While Falqun went looking for the key, Kythin grasped his
axe.. just in case. Considering what the Necronians tended to be. -d
Falqun Briathos: "Ah." She gently, respectfully even, took the key off the
body and handed it to Kythin. "I do not think we should allow the others to
loot the bodies here. It is enough they are taking the treasure."
DaemianBerazalle: ::He kept quiet as he waited at the top of the stairs for
Falqun and Kythin to return. He kept some of his attention on Gar Thog.
Quite frankly, he just didn't trust him. He kept himself in check, for the
time being::
Lord Kissekatt: Oh oh oh, so thaaaaaaaat's why she didn't want anyone
following her.
Falqun Briathos: She bowed her head, said a soft prayer for those buried
alive, and headed back up the stairs. "We found a key. I do not know if it is
THE key. The sarcophagus is down there, we did not open it. And, a very large
amount of people who were buried alive with him." Up she went, climbed out,
then went to peer up that hole in the ceiling.
Mighty Gar thog: ~he then laughed~ Dat is true... but, no dis time...

Falqun Briathos: She was glad to see they had not killed each other, but the
tension was thick in the air. She knew she could not hold it off forever.
Lord Kissekatt: He bounded away from the chest when the key bearer moved to
open it, since he didn't want to be in the way if it broke and acidic goo
went everywhere.
Tesarik One: The chest opened, without exploding and sending green slime on
them, and without ruining the contained item completely. Good for them. It
was a thick, hand written book in necronian.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He stayed close by Kythin as he opened the chest,
prepared to intercept Thog if he thought to try and just snatch up the book::
Falqun Briathos: "Maria's book, I would assume, but I do not read that
language." She ticked off two of her fingers, they'd done two of the three
things she deemed necessary.
Falqun Briathos: She reached down and gingerly picked the book up. They all
had loots and shit, she'd care for the precious tome.
Lord Kissekatt: Well then. He shifted back into his human form, and moved
over to pick up his bow and quiver once again, slipping them back on.
"Splendid. Shall we get out of here now? Clearly someone at some point got
out through that hole in the
Lord Kissekatt: other room."
Mighty Gar thog: ~he went from the stairway back to the sloped walkway and,
using that bone, started rubbing slime off the floor, tossing and rubbing it
on the wall~
scales change: Considering the protections he doubted it'd be easily
damaged, he'd leave Falqun to dealing with the tome. Considering the rest of
them including himself, were likely to damage it by assualting each other.
Kythin would make a once
Falqun Briathos: It was slid into her backpack, and then she dusted her
hands off and looked around, then to the others. It was a real shame that no
one could do teleport home spells. "Now to leave this place before those
stone paintings come back for us."

And since she'd been polite to him, he'd rather not do that.
DaemianBerazalle: Well . . . I should be able to lead us out of here if the
hole you speak of truly is a way out. ::He grinned at that, he just never

up on the tall section of the room. remember they'd stepped down to the
sarcophagus.
Tesarik One: The tunnel itself? 40 feet until you hit a false room, another
30 feet out the hole there.
Lord Kissekatt: "I could always turn into a cat and spring up there, if
someone gives me a boost. If there's something to tie the rope off with up
there, I can do it and lower the rope to the rest of you. Or just help you
out by hand."
Falqun Briathos: She thinks she needs to stuff a few pitons in her pack next
time. And maybe a magic rope.
Tesarik One: Falqun, and Gar Thog need to roll once more for me. A 1d6.
scales change: " .. Well if you'd like to be throw at the hole by all means
I'll give you a toss.. " Otherwise Kythin was just going to pull out his
crossbow, attach the rope to a phantom bolt and hope things worked out. -d
DaemianBerazalle: Seems the best use if you do that. ::He nodded to Baldur
at his suggestion, looking to the group to see which of them would be best
suited for giving him said boost::

Lord Kissekatt: "I didn't say thrown. I just need someone to stand still so
I can jump off their shoulders." Seven feet was hardly anything for a cat
standing on someone, and he was a rather big cat.
Mighty Gar thog: Spear man? tie rope to spear, toss it up and in, pull so it
lodges in da hole. Dat would work, as well.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He shifted in his stance, positioning himself so that
he'd accent enough of a ramp for Baldur to run and jump to the perch, setting
his spear point-down so the butt could be used as a standing point as well::
Falqun Briathos: "Gods damnit all, just do it." She would give the cat a
lift if needed, she was 5'10" as stated before, surely tall enough to give
him a boost. Or the spear thing.
scales change: He sighed, really they didn't have a creative bone in their
bodies. " Just tie the rope to a bolt.. fire it off. " Speaking of which he'd
reach for the rope after getting out his nicely enchanted crossbow. -d
Lord Kissekatt: Good. Cat form it was again. And he ran right up Dae, trying
to watch the claws (but not trying TOO hard), and then he jumped off of him,
reaching for the edge of that hole to climb on into it.
Tesarik One: Good thing the tunnel was not straight up. She gave the rope to
the cat, so he could pull it up to the false room (false meaning made to fool
thieves).
Lord Kissekatt: Rope was caught in his mouth or something so he could pull
it up, then he shifted to look for somewhere to tie it off. Unless she waited
until he shifted and then threw it up the hole. Either way, was there
anything?
Tesarik One: Ok folks! Everyone gets out, and around the front of the
pyramid to the portal down in the mud. Time is getting onwards so I need to
handle something, and then you all can rp as much as you like to your heart's

Tesarik One: There was an old piton secured into the stone that the old rope

Tesarik One: As well as through the other hole.
Lord Kissekatt: He'd tie it off, drop it down the hole, and then off he
went! If they couldn't get out after all that, they didn't deserve to get
out.
Tesarik One: Now, every last one of you, including Falqun, has taken
something from this pyramid tomb. You are all cursed, but you do NOT know it
yet. As soon as you step out of this pyramid, it starts. For 7 days, this
curse will be in effect.
Tesarik One: It cannot be removed, or staunched or stopped. You do not know
you were cursed until it is over. Here are your curses.

Of all the times when rope
would be handy . . . something he'd need to have prepared for the next
time::
Falqun Briathos: Oh rope. She had 50 feet of silk rope in her pack. "Do we
need rope?" But what would they hook it to?

Tesarik One: For Gar-Thog - you step out of the portal and sink to your

swamp, you still need to get up two levels. The four in the group stand on
the level with the
Tesarik One: entrance.

He wasn't done in his kitty form yet though. He batted at the bow when it was

little. Not enough
Lord Kissekatt: to damage it or anything. Lucky she didn't try to pet him,
he would've chomped on her finger. Anyway, after another stretch, he snap

He activated his
dark sight, his own eyes flashing red for a brief moment as the spectrum of
vision shifted::
[ well I'm going with a
knowledge: secret codes/script check cause its about my level. ha. ]
Tesarik One: Go for it.
Mighty Gar thog: But in the door... strange choice of wording, no?
OnlineHost: scales change rolled 1 20-sided die: 14
scales change: [15]
He'd keep his dark
sight active as he began moving down the passage, ensuring he didn't move too
far from the group::
scales change: issue of darkness..

Tesarik One: Kythin 0/34 [18] || Daemian 0/32 [19] || Falqun 0/39 [18]
(0/44) || Baldur 0/23 [13] || GarThog 0/26 [12] (0/12)
Tesarik One: (Spot)

OnlineHost: Tesarik One rolled 2 5-sided dice: 4 1
scales change: [ wonderful. ]
Tesarik One: 5dmg - Armor is fine. GarThog is exempt.

DaemianBerazalle: <Chain Shirt +4, Amulet +2 = 6>
Falqun Briathos: (Amulet of Armor +2)
Mighty Gar thog: ~since all others went on ahead, not even the cat would
hear the conversation. But the explosion he heard from up top~
Lord Kissekatt: Apparently his eyes worked so good his nose failed him. Or
else he would've warned the man. (+5 amulet of armor)
Tesarik One: Kythin 0/34 [18] || Daemian 0/32 [19] || Falqun 3/39 [18]
(0/44) || Baldur 0/23 [13] || GarThog 0/26 [12] (0/12)
scales change: [ fire would be dbl damage for Ky in the half-dragon form

skeletons, check out the sarcophagus, or check out the walls.
Tesarik One: (ok)

(0/44) || Baldur 0/23 [13] || GarThog 0/26 [12] (0/12)
Mighty Gar thog: ~well, he expected a trap. No one ever listened to him. He
simply sat down then slid down the incline~
DaemianBerazalle: ::He moved close enough to get a better view of the
sarcophagus, trying to keep from triggering anything nasty while moving to
inspect it::
Falqun Briathos: She crept along the walls, sliding her hands along the
stone surface, just seeing if there was anything else letting that halo of
light light her way.

scales change: of late. Forunately the animated shield had protected his
face this time.. shaking the agitation.. somewhat off admist the bite given
to the empty air. And then.. on to letting others to do all the work. -d
Tesarik One: Gar Thog found 4 silver coins.

DaemianBerazalle: ::Hearing Falqun, he took a moment from his musings,
looking to where she pointed to see if he could make out what was etched in
the wall::
OnlineHost: scales change rolled 1 20-sided die: 5
Lord Kissekatt: He already picked through most of the skeletons!
scales change: (+5 if secret scripts apply +1 int = 6 or 11 ]
Tesarik One: Gar would find 5 more silver coins! Everything else was rotted
and rusted and crap.
While Ky was checking the sarcophagus and the
wall, he moved to take a look through the opening in the door, staying in the
room with the
DaemianBerazalle: sarcophagus in it still::
Tesarik One: If you wish to try and open the sarcophagus...Strength Check
DC13
scales change: [ open sarcophagus? Yes please.. after checking for ya know..

Lord Kissekatt: He looked over to Dae then and frowned. "Do you truly wish
to open that? It's either going to be filled with a stationary dessicated
corpse, or a moving angry dessicated corpse."
Tesarik One: anyone have a knowledge (mythology)?
Tesarik One: Roll for Detect Traps unless you have a skill.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He was at the door, looking into the room which their
secret fun word had opened. He knew better than to fight mummies if it could
be avoided::

Lord Kissekatt: Well then Dae probably already knew who Baldur was, his

Falqun Briathos: "There is a myth that when one enters the next life, they
must pay the boatman to take them." She pulled out that square gold coin.
Falqun Briathos: "Did not the red eyes tell us this was our passage to the
afterlife?"
Mighty Gar thog: (Anthropoly archealogy, monster lore)
Tesarik One: Ok folks....we got Falqun standing in the square room with the
boatman statue holding his hand out. We've got Kythin checking for traps, did
that get rolled?

Lord Kissekatt: "True." Said in response to Falqun. He hadn't heard that

first." He had gone into
Mighty Gar thog: Yes... ya put da coin in da open hand.

Lord Kissekatt: "Well thank the gods we wasted all that time staring at it,
then. You couldn't have mentioned that a bit sooner?" Back to the ferryman
room his attention went.
Tesarik One: GarThog, do you wish to open the sarcophagus?
DaemianBerazalle: ::He had no interest in disturbing one's resting spot,

holding his hand out, standing upon a small gilded boat.

Mighty Gar thog: ~he decided to go first. he stepped right up and placed the
coin in the ferrymans hand, the wand and bone in his other hand~,
DaemianBerazalle: ::His gaze went from the ferryman to the wall behind, and
only then did he start looking for a path that could take him to that
revealed wall::
The walls are brightly painted showing the funeral

crows, soldiers, and a long string of barely clad slave girls are all painted
heading into the pyramid.

Lord Kissekatt: Of course it could be. He didn't necessarily think it was,

between the glass.
Mighty Gar thog: ~he opened the urn, taking out the rods, all six at once~

others pick at one of the urns before he'd go for raiding one. That being

Falqun Briathos: "I do not see the tome that Maria wanted." She did not
touch anything, not even one piece of gold or a pretty sapphire she saw.
Well, it was tempting. She tapped her fingers against her side.
Mighty Gar thog: By da way... da book is likely in da chest... breal da

Mighty Gar thog: *break
Lord Kissekatt: Oh, right. They came here for a book. He remembered that
now. He stared at Gar thog for a moment, then looked to ...literally anyone

Lord Kissekatt: "Why not simply open it carefully and not break any of the

scales change: " You asked for a translation, not a suggestion.

They had no key.

Lord Kissekatt: "Perhaps in that damned sarcophagus."
Tesarik One: Mwahaha...cough...cough.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He looked to Thog then as he addressed them as "silly"::

Tesarik One: (It has been about 3 hours, if anyone needs to leave, then you

Lord Kissekatt: That manner of speaking was rising his ire, but he managed
to not put an arrow through the man's throat. For now. He did close his eyes
and pinch the bridge of his nose to compose himself, however.
Mighty Gar thog: Care for advice, or ya wish to be pigheaded more?
scales change: " ...Gar Thog, shut you thrice-damned Tenebrous forsaken maul

Lord Kissekatt: "Wait, we're supposed to be killing him?"
Falqun Briathos: "Runik?" She frowned, looking between them all. "Let us put

gently.
Mighty Gar thog: Who joined Runik? Garthog has yet to meet dem?
Lord Kissekatt: "This is a waste of time. Somebody go open that damned

with her till she disappeared.
Lord Kissekatt: "Or to not move the chest at all, to avoid breaking it, you
dolt." He stood up then and stretched out a bit, to go see what was going on
with the sarcophagus. "Damnit." Shame Erhine didn't pick NOW to check in on

summed it up well once.. protect the healer.
Mighty Gar thog: ~he then pushed his wand into his backpack, handle bit
poking out. He held the bone as a weapon now and simply removed his moonglobe

was a thick, hand written book in necronian.
DaemianBerazalle: ::He stayed close by Kythin as he opened the chest,
prepared to intercept Thog if he thought to try and just snatch up the book::

things she deemed necessary.
Falqun Briathos: She reached down and gingerly picked the book up. They all

Lord Kissekatt: Well then. He shifted back into his human form, and moved
over to pick up his bow and quiver once again, slipping them back on.
"Splendid. Shall we get out of here now? Clearly someone at some point got

DaemianBerazalle: Well . . . I should be able to lead us out of here if the
hole you speak of truly is a way out. ::He grinned at that, he just never
really could get lost::
Tesarik One: Those rings could be used to teleport another person if
touched, actually, it's been done before. Or they could climb out of the hole
in the ceiling.
scales change: Well good thing the feline had the same thought process as
he.. " If he means the one with the brittle looking rope hanging out of it..
I suspect we'll be needing Falqun's rope. " His vine wasn't useful without
vegitation to grab on
scales change: to.. or Kythin could just reach over to Falqun and activate
his ring - which.. yeah he'd be doing that. -d
scales change: [cue suspicious action music. ]
Falqun Briathos: She pulled the rope out of her pack before sliding the tome
back in.
Lord Kissekatt: Well he had no idea that'd even work or he would've
teleported out as soon as he got his goodies.
scales change: [ and all miss Ky grabbing the healer and hitting the ring
ha. ]
Tesarik One: (Sorry sorry, I am tired and wrong. The ring teleports just the
person.)
scales change: [ nice. ha. ]
scales change: Rope it was then.. -d
scales change: [ this is where Girard would be useful.. why are none of
those present magic users? ]
Mighty Gar thog: ~he went over, looked up at the hole, figuring out the
distance~
Tesarik One: The hole was cut with a slight angle, the hole was about 7 feet
up on the tall section of the room. remember they'd stepped down to the
sarcophagus.
OnlineHost: Falqun Briathos rolled 1 6-sided die: 3
scales change: thrown*
Time is getting onwards so I need to
handle something, and then you all can rp as much as you like to your heart's
content.
scales change: Least the cat was still preferable to the dragon with a
speech-impediment they had along. In Ky's mind anyway. -d
Tesarik One: There was an old piton secured into the stone that the old rope
was tied too.
Mighty Gar thog: (Yay! lol)
Tesarik One: Baldur - you are thoroughly convinced you are an amazing
fighter, and will attempt to show off to anyone your battle prowess.
Tesarik One: Kythin - You say everything twice. You say everything twice.
scales change: [ Baldur is now Violeta. ha. ]
Lord Kissekatt: (Baldur will never be filthy gutter trash.)
Tesarik One: Dae - You now have a terrible stutter.
Tesarik One: Falqun - You have taken a beastfolk trait. Your tongue is
forked like a snake.
DaemianBerazalle: <<W . . . w. . . w . . . what do you mean!?
scales change: [ Who knows. Who Knows. ]
Tesarik One: GarThog did you ever roll 1d6?
Mighty Gar thog: (I don't think so)
Tesarik One: Go ahead.
OnlineHost: Mighty Gar thog rolled 1 6-sided die: 3
Tesarik One: GarThog, your tongue is also now forked like a snake.
Tesarik One: ^v^ 2/10/2013 3:00:29 AM ^v^
scales change: [ Dragon with a forked tongue. genius. ]
Mighty Gar thog: (no one'll notice when in dragon form. lol)
Tesarik One: 3am next Saturday the curse ends.
DaemianBerazalle: <<I'll do my best to remember. Will try to keep it fun
and unique . . . rp-ing a stutter in text form is gonna be challenging.
Mighty Gar thog: w-w..why?
Tesarik One: Now then, the rods are the main loot. I've got that Baldur
wants the bird. IM me with your choice. There is spider, fish, frog, python,
lizard.
scales change: [ LIZARD! [
Mighty Gar thog: (Awww! Gar took em all!)
Lord Kissekatt: (He's completely bugfuckingly insane if he thinks everyone
else is letting him keep them all)
Tesarik One: (Haha yeah)
DaemianBerazalle: <<Real simple for his life to be taken if he tries keeping
them all. That's the fun thing about neutrality.
scales change: [ Kythin will murder him anyway..
Lord Kissekatt: (Baldur's evil and wants a gift for his wife. Nuff said.)
Mighty Gar thog: (It was worth a try. could teleport away, or go dragon and
fly off)
DaemianBerazalle: <<No Way Out
Tesarik One: Spider, Lizard, Bird are taken.
scales change: [ the dragonkin would climb on and take his bloody head.
Mighty Gar thog: (If you caught up to him)
scales change: [ Runik. har. ]
Mighty Gar thog: (Nasty rumour)
Tesarik One: (He said he was joining Runik right in public!)
Mighty Gar thog: (Gar has yet to meet a Runik member)
Tesarik One: (lol. which one does GarThog want by chance?)
Lord Kissekatt: (Truth, I have the log in my email)
scales change: [ not that he knows of. har har. ]
Mighty Gar thog: (lol true. everyone else chose?)
Tesarik One: (falqun isn't getting one. spider, lizard, bird are taken.
there's fish, frog, python)
Mighty Gar thog: (hmm...Gar always had trouble with water, even have an old
gift of self rowing rowboat. so, Fish)
Tesarik One: (If everyone is in agreement, and you all wish to rp out Gar
Thog trying to take them all, and you all handling that, by all means go for
it. Otherwise, since those are the loot items, they will simply disappear
from his pack, each
Tesarik One: person finding one in their own pack (that you've chosen) )
