Tesarik One: Corrections? IM me.
Tesarik One: Background - Last week, a group was sent by Maria to do a task
in order to gain some important information. The group found and removed (or
so they assume) a group of bandits plaguing a town ,and in exchange were
given a map and
Tesarik One: command word to get into what is known as the Wizard's Retreat,
an extradimensional space kept by an long-ago wizard that is rumored to
contain wealth and knowledge. The alchemist told them where the old mage's
house was located,
Tesarik One: that no doubt it was occupied by a family, and that they were
to go to the hearth in the great room and speak the command word which was
written down. Jabretholkanonsveter. The group reports back to Maria, and now
she is gathering
Tesarik One: a group again, to actually head to the house and find the
space. Meet at the Port Union as usual, for a portal to the outskirts of that
same village. (Begin RP)
a merciful edge: Kyle did not at all assume they'd removed the bandits,
since they just let them go with what? Not even a pinky swear that they
wouldn't cause trouble. Although he didn't really like those anyway. Being
left handed, he tended to
a merciful edge: instinctively offer up less than half a pinky, and that
didn't do anybody any good. Well! He heard a group was heading out again, and
since he'd participated in part one, he wouldn't want to miss the sequel, so
he got himself all
a merciful edge: geared up in his minimal amount of anything as always, then
headed down to the Port Union to await the others.
Tesarik Five: Unlike Kyle, Rohdle felt good about removing the bandits. As
there was a promise for them to leave...On risk of their own lives. They
would leave, or they would die. It really was that simple. Those of the group
didn't want to kill
Tesarik Five: the group of bandits in the first place, so they had only two
choices. Let them go or go through all the trouble of binding them, putting
them on their mounts, carrying them with them to the contact, then back to
the city to be put
Tesarik Five: in jail and wait for a trial that may or may not go their way.
It was all just to much trouble. At least, that's how the elf saw it. Never
the less he was fully dressed in his combat gear as he stepped up to the
meeting area, looking
Tesarik Five: to Maria as he gave her a small nod of his head. The normally
somewhat friendly Elf was cold and stern when it came to taking on a mission,
so for now he simply waiting for the rest to arrive.
questing requiem: Port Union again. Girard was becoming awfully use to
visiting the place by now.. Maria sent them there to portal-hop often enough!
Half-expecting something akin to the tower in Rumeria's Barrens though the
minstrel planned care-
Tesarik One: Standing next to Maria was a woman with chestnut brown curls,
dressed in a dove grey dress with white leather bracers laced to her elbows
engraved with a white raven. Her long hair was pulled back in a braid, bits
of feathers poked
Tesarik One: out here and there, and if they got a good look there were even
feathers in her eyelashes. She had a longsword at her hip, and a longbow and
quiver on her back with her pack. She said nothing, merely nodded as people
approached.
questing requiem: fully for the return to that village to deal with the
Wizard's Reach. Smart enough to pack away some potions, considering how well
his body reacted to most sorts of healing magic, and whatever else he could
reasonably carry along
Tesarik One: "I'm sending a healer along with you. A good healer." She
patted Falqun's shoulder, then nodded as the portal opened. "Find the
retreat, see what's in there if anything, and if you do find interesting
items bring it back with you.
Tesarik One: and try not to die. Off you go."
A Cairn of Rage: The Northman sat on the edge of a crate, bent over slightly
as rough hands adjusted the fit and feel of those thick and oerly traveled
boots. Occasioanlly he would cast those cold beryl eyes upwards as another
came to gather, only
questing requiem: with the bladed whip and the daggers hidden away. In
regards to the bandits of last time, he didn't care.. if they hounded them
again.. they forfieted mercy he tried to give. So the minstrel occupied his
time now.. with humming,
questing requiem: waiting, and hopping through that portal when the time
came. -d
A Cairn of Rage: to in turn narrow at the sight of the portal. Rig alone
knew how much he distrusted magic, but he had told Maria he would fight as
she asked of him. As this was likely to be his fnal delay before moving back
north, and perhaps if he
A Cairn of Rage: were lucky, back to the mud, he was counted amongst them.
With a low exhale of breath, something caught between a sigh and a growl he
moved with the masses.
a merciful edge: "Don't everybody say hello at once. Starting to feel lik
eyou all lost your tongues last time." All this silence was going to make for
a very dull adventure, and it was already making him debate heading back
home. At least there'd
a merciful edge: be conversation there. He listened to Maria's statement on
the healer, sent that healer a smile and a polite bow of his head. "Splendid,
we may very well need a good healer, though I do hope we don't. But better to
have one and not
a merciful edge: need one, hm?" And then it was off through the portal with
him!
Tesarik One: Talk? She didn't know anyone. Feathery lashes lowered over grey
eyes that matched her robe, then lifted to peer around again, in time to
catch the smile and bow of Kyle's head. She gave a half-bow back to him.
"This is Falqun, don't
Tesarik One: lose her." And yep, off they needed to go! Maria waved with a
big grin.
a merciful edge: Of course she didn't know anyone, she wasn't talking. How
else was she supposed to get to know them?? (brb)
Tesarik Five: Rohdle waited just a moment, looking around at the others,
then to the healer that was introduced to the group
Tesarik Five: (Eh, sorry. Hit enter early.)
questing requiem: " Hello to you to Kyle. Pleasant weather isn't it? " Well
Girard found it amusing, this was why he kept to singing or talking bandits
into dropping their weapons and leaving peacefully. Portal-ward ho! " I can't
promise I won't lose
questing requiem: track of myself.. this could be tricky. " -d
Tesarik One: The portal showed a fine home outside town, marked on the map
that Girard (?) had. It looked well tended, it wasn't a mansion by any means
but it was a nice, large farmhouse with rocking chairs on the big front
porch. If anyone was
Tesarik Five: "You can let that one die if you want. It may bring peace to
the land." He gave a tilt of his head toward Kyle, only to offer up a wide
smirk, toying with the man as it were. Despite the bits, he didn't have any
problems with the
questing requiem: Yep. He had the map and the magic word.
Tesarik One: at home, they wouldn't be able to tell at first because no
lights shone at the windows and the curtains were all pulled closed. The
stables looked rather empty of horses, the stablehands nowhere to be seen.
Tesarik Five: guy. And that was his way of making talk, as he had just
requested happen. Once the healer made her way into the portal he went along
with them to follow.
Tesarik One: She stepped through the portal as it was opened and the others
made their way in, and brushed her hands down along her dress as she peered
at the house. She was sent along to heal, so she was going to do just that if
needed.
Tesarik One: "Hello, as Maria said, I'm Falqun." Her voice soft, she'd
finally speak, then wait for whoever was going to lead them.
Tesarik One: (Y'all still there?)
questing requiem: ][ I hope so. ][
Tesarik Five: (Was waiting for someone else to post. Lol. But, I can post
again. ;p)
Tesarik One: The house is there before them, they need to find their way to
the great room.
A Cairn of Rage: There was a slight shake that ran it's way down his body
from stepping out on the other side of the portal. Turning his head back
around and curling his upper lip in disgust before spitting to the ground.
Turning his rough
A Cairn of Rage: countenance back upon the others, hands opening and closing
slightly as they hung near his waist. Looking from one to the next and down
the line, he stood motionless, waiting for whoever it was that had what they
needed to guide
A Cairn of Rage: them to either take point, or give some vague gesture as to
where they were supposed to head.
a merciful edge: "'tis always pleasant weather if one knows how to look at
it properly." Said a bit belatedly to Girard. He sent a scowl to Rohdle at
his little snipe though. "I am an agent of peace, you silly man. I daresay
that might have quite
questing requiem: " Names Girard.. or Requiem. " Well the minstrel could
also be the social one. As for the house, well didn't the alchemist say the
house was occupied? This couldn't be legal. " The old man did say this house
was occupied.. " Well
questing requiem: reminding them never hurt. -d
a merciful edge: the opposite effect." And then to Falqun. "Pleasure to meet
you, Falqun, my name is Kyle." And then yep, the house! Hm. They needed that
silly word, did they not? Or was that just once they got inside. He wasn't
good with magic
a merciful edge: words.
Tesarik Five: A look around was given, the others seeming to be lost in a
trance he shrugged. Though when the giant of a man was in sight he looked him
up and down. That brute, a worthy....Well ally or foe really. Though ally it
seemed he was
Tesarik One: It was to open the portal in front of the hearth in the great
room.
Tesarik Five: today, and that was good enough for him. Though when Kyle
spoke to him he lifted a brow slightly. Silly man? How.....Strange. Was that
supposed to be an insult or playfullness in regards to his words? Shrugging
it off he then
Tesarik Five: started forward, seeing the others not in any hurry to get to
the house he took the lead, eyes cast around to see if there was any evidence
of life....Though none was found. "Did he say if the occupants were humaiod?"
Valid question
Tesarik Five: ...Knowing the trickyness of magic users.
A Cairn of Rage: Reaching down to his hip, fingers pulling up a small
metallic flask and drawing the stopper out and clear. A quick tip given as
the top touched upon his lips. Swirling the contents around in his mouth as
he closed the flask and let
Tesarik One: Whoever lived there, it didn't seem like anyone was home
but..... they could go knock on the door? Or bust it down? Or pick the lock?
A Cairn of Rage: it set down upon his hip once again. This was why no Svek
would ever claim the north. There was too much of nothing, and too little of
something. In the north you just acted. The time you spent thinking was the
time you spent dying.
A Cairn of Rage: It was simply better to do something than live with the
fear of doing it. Walking past them, uncaring if his size caused an arm or a
shoulder to brush into them as he passed. Coming to the front of the door he
balled a hand and let
A Cairn of Rage: it crack against the wood in a manner that was all but
friendly. Waiting the customary few moments, if nothing was heard, he tried
to just open them so they could at least begin with the task at hand.
questing requiem: " For all I know the occupant could be an orcish bard. "
Never mind the improbability of that combination. Really he didn't recall if
the oldman had even bothered to specify. Girard didn't really bother to
consider the possibilities
questing requiem: considering the occupants were probably not going to be
pleased with unknown guests after having bandits around the village for who
knew how long. Course with Fenris playing the one to introduce them.. well if
they were hostile it'd
questing requiem: not last too long now would it? But just in case.. Girard
moved to the side of the door rather than anywhere behind the Northman.. he
didn't care to be crushed if the man was flung back by magic. -d
Tesarik One: The family was human, a farming family. The mage long gone. At
the harsh knock, there'd be the sound of someone calling out, "Just a sec!"
And then an elderly woman opened the door. "Hello, how can I help you?"
A Cairn of Rage: Kyle. The one who had opened his mouth first, had one meaty
thumb jerked in his direction as Fenris stepped away and down from the door.
Moving to the side so that his size did not have the opposite effect Kyle's
free moving tongue
A Cairn of Rage: may have.
Tesarik One: She tucked her hands into her apron and stared at the odd group
on the porch of her employer's home, lifting a grey brow. "Yes?"
a merciful edge: He lifted a brow as the overly large man pounded on the
door like he was half trying to break it, and then pointed at him, before his
eyes shifted to the old woman. "Hello there! We were passing by and noticed
what a lovely house
a merciful edge: you have here, and as it turns out, it seems appropriate,
with such a lovely young woman residing in it." He flashed his best charming
grin, hopefully not too marred by the scars on his everywhere. Least most of
them weren't
a merciful edge: visible. "I know it may be an odd request, but would you
mind terribly if we had a look inside? I promise we will intrude as little as
possible, and be gone before you know it."
Tesarik One: She stared at them, pursing her lips a moment, then smiled at
Kyle. "It's quite cold out there, why don't you kids...er..." She looked at
the big man a moment, then back to Kyle, "...folks come in for a mug of hot
cider." She
Tesarik One: stepped aside. "Well....I suppose you can, the Dunsany's aren't
home though and if you stay here on the first floor." She motioned towards a
set of double doors off to the side, then opened them. It was definitely the
great room,
Tesarik One: and there was a massive, and hand carved hearth with a
crackling fire. "You all have a seat, warm up, I'll get some drinks and
teacakes."
a merciful edge: "Oh I wouldn't say the correction is needed, he's a child
at heart." Said as he gave a clap to Fenris's shoulder...well, upper arm more
likely, and then he stepped in after the lady, having a brief look around
once they were led
a merciful edge: into the great room. "Splendid, drinks and teacakes would
be lovely. Thank you so much." Well there, he did his job and got 'em into
the room!
questing requiem: Kids? He was in his early thirties.. couldn't be looking
that young! Well no matter, thought the minstrel. Kyle got the lot of them
permitted inside and he didn't have to waggle that silver tongue of his at
all! Girard gave a murmur
Tesarik One: Falqun stood at the back of the group, watching them as they
talked to the elderly woman. Her hands were clasped before her, she was
concentrating quite hard for a moment as she used one of her trained skills.
(Diagnose - she will
Tesarik One: know everyone's status as far as sick, wounded, poisoned,
nearness to death, etc.)
questing requiem: of " Not bad. " Kyle's way before they'd head in..
eventually. -d
Tesarik Five: He looked to Kyle, hearing the lies come from his mouth had
him lifting a brow. Though it seemed to work, it wouldn't of been his way of
doing it. Shrugging it off though he kept himself silent for the moment,
giving a nod to the
Tesarik One: "Very good then!" She clapped her hands together, then shuffled
off towards the kitchen once they were in the great room. It'd take her a few
moments at the very least before she joined them again!
Tesarik Five: old woman as he stepped by, going tot he room she had motioned
to, and stepping into the great room. He didn't really know what they were
looking for here, but he had a feeling Girard did, thus he looked to the man
and waited for
Tesarik Five: his instructions.
a merciful edge: "Why thank you. I am a bit rusty though, and that's not
particularly my strong suit anyway. Generally I antagonize people." Said
after the lady left the room. He shrugged. And lies? What lies?
A Cairn of Rage: He waited until all the others had stepped before he moved
to join them, casting one last and lingering gaze out behind and around the
home. Orbs seeking out any sign that things were not quite what they
appeared. As he closed the
Tesarik One: She moved into the great room, smiling kindly to the woman,
then she stood near the window and opened the curtains a little to peer out.
She wasn't sure what they needed to do here.
questing requiem: " Well our goal is the hearth.. the word's s'pose to open
the way. Odds are we'll be scaring our host if we open it up in front of her
though. " All this he tried to murmur low enough to keep among his companions
rather than shared
A Cairn of Rage: doors behind him, he would throw whatever bolt or chain or
lock the door had. Moving back into the room he watched as the crone waddled
off to the other room and moved to lean against the wall nearest the door.
Placing himself so
questing requiem: too loudly, pausing at any point the kind old woman was
within hearing range. -d
A Cairn of Rage: that when she or anyone else in the home returned he would
be at their back.
a merciful edge: "Only if she notices. Which, if we hurry, she won't. If one
of us has to stay behind as a distraction, then we'll be one short going in.
I think haste may be the better option this time."
Tesarik One: The woman was in the kitchen, they were in the great room, the
hearth was before them. What were they waiting on??
questing requiem: Well no point in waiting then! Girard headed on to the
hearth, taking a quick glance over the written word and once he thought he
had it memorized he passed it on to Kyle, just in kind they needed it to get
out to.. and really there
A Cairn of Rage: Fenris heard them talking over what may be the best course
of action, to move with haste and distract the elderly woman. Keep her free
from harm so that they could do what they needed. Stepping over to one side
and placing his hands
questing requiem: was just no assurance he'd make it out, why not be
cautious? " Jabretholkanonsveter. " Girard at least was wary enough to do
this to the side of where he thought the portal or whatever would open open -
didn't want to be rushed by
questing requiem: some arcane abomination! -d
A Cairn of Rage: upon the arm of a very large couch, he simply pushed it in
front of the door. Thus locking the elderly woman in the kitchen, where she
would have food and drink until they returned and let her out.
a merciful edge: He took the written word, folded it up and tucked it into
his cloak. He glanced over to Fenris, in his check to make sure everybody was
ready and furrowed his brow a bit. "Should probably move that back out of the
way if we can get
Tesarik One: As the final syllable of the command word was spoken, the fire
in the hearth leapt upwards, then a swirling portal began to open before the
hearth, like the eye of a camera opening up until darkness was seen on the
other side.
a merciful edge: through before she returns. Not very good guest manners to
trap the hostess." Oh hey! Portal opened up. And nothing jumped out to kill
them, right?
Tesarik Five: When that portal opened up Rohdle didn't bother to wait. As
the portal finished forming he moved forward, pushing through to stand on the
other side as eyes moved, searching the area to try and see all that he could
on the other side
Tesarik Five: while waiting on the others to join him. He didn't much care
for all the waiting when on a mission when it wasn't warented....But it was
sometimes hard to pin point when that Elf thought it was warented. (Spot)
OnlineHost: Tesarik Five rolled 1 20-sided die: 4
Tesarik Five: (9)
A Cairn of Rage: Fenris gave a dismissive shrug and moved after the Elf
through yet another portal. Better trapped for now-that was if the place
didn't have another way into the kitchen-than dead or calling some guard for
a portal in the house
Tesarik One: No need for a spot, because when they entered the portal they'd
see this: An anteroom with the walls, floor, ceiling made from some slightly
spongy black material similar to ...tire rubber. There was a plaque on the
far wall that
Tesarik One: read "Enter as ye were born."
Tesarik One: Once people started moving through the portal, she did as well,
a brow lifting as she read the plaque inside. There were several ways that
could be taken.
A Cairn of Rage: suddenly. If they wanted the couch moved before they were
done, they could move it. Coming to stand beside Rohdle, brows drawn down as
he frowned over the newest room and read the sign. A slight rumbling sound in
the back of his
questing requiem: Once the considerably more wall-like and agile of them had
stepped through the minstrel went through as well.. no doubt followed soon
after by the other.. two? He'd already forgetten.. a bad thing, being
distracted in a place like
A Cairn of Rage: throat slipping free. Magic. Riddles. the day was just
getting better by the moment.
a merciful edge: He wouldn't at all mind her calling some guard, because he
hadn't done anything worth arresting. He waited to go through 'til last, so
he could move that couch out of the way, then through the portal it was! And
he read that plaque
a merciful edge: and thought for a moment, then grunted. "Well. Best we all
get naked, covered in blood, and scream a lot, no?"
Tesarik One: Once they were all through, the portal stayed open for a moment
more then closed leaving them in the black room, without a bit of light now!
Tesarik Five: When the light went out he let himself sigh. While he could
see in low light.....Darkness he could not. Reaching into his bag now he
pulled one of his sunrods out, giving it a crack and shake so that it would
light up the room, or
Tesarik One: She could not see in the dark, but it seemed to be safe enough
to use her magical light. (Halo of Light) A soft glow appeared above her
head, lighting up quite a bit around her.
questing requiem: this! Blinking at Kyle after he read that plaque Girard
just shrugged ..and blinked again when the lights went out. Gods..thank
goodness for the Nightsinger's Blessings. (darksight). " Guess that'd be the
case.. " And then there was
Tesarik One: Well, since Kyle moved the couch, soon enough she'd open the
door and walk in with a tray of goodies for them! A teapot full of hot cider,
teacakes, and cups piled up. But, no one was there! "Well... I never.... how
rude!" She
Tesarik Five: at least some of it. That sign however had him taking a moment
to lift a brow. "You can get naked if you wish. I will keep my clothes on."
Why? Because he didn't think someone would want a bunch of men walking into
their tower naked
Tesarik Five: .
Tesarik One: frowned and sat the things down on a table, just in case they'd
gone exploring. Then she left to see if they were somewhere else!
a merciful edge: Oh good, other people had sunrods. He thought he remembered
getting one before, but he had neglected to bring it, he was used to the
others having such things! He did make note to bring them next time, however.
He should've brought
Tesarik One: The mage may have enjoyed naked men in his day, you never know.
Tesarik One: Maybe the mage was a woman! Dun dun dun.
a merciful edge: his kitten to entertain the old lady, as well. Or left a
note. "Gone into your hearth, be back soon." Anyway, at least there was light
now. "Were you born with clothes on?" Said to the elf, of course.
questing requiem: light again.. and Girard suddenly felt something of a
migraine like sensation in his skull alongside the song of loss. " That was
unpleasant. " Said the blinking minstrel. " Well no point wasting time.. "
Well someone was going to
Tesarik One: Get naked? and bloody? Heavens no, this was not her idea of fun
and she was already thinking through what she was going to tell Maria when
she found her.
Tesarik One: Though as she was the healer, she had birthed many babies, so
she had a few ideas. "Someone should get naked and see if it allows them to
pass, then if needed we all can undress."
questing requiem: test it right? If no one else was going to then the
minstrel, pretty-boy that he was, would.. unhappy with leaving his weaponry
behind as he could be. So Girard was trying it. -d
Tesarik Five: "I was born without weapons." Though he'd not leave those
behind either. "Born without hair." Fat chance at cutting that. "Without
fear." Well that at least was good.
A Cairn of Rage: "Just go one at a time, and cover the light. You were born
alone and in the dark."
questing requiem: Someone should also obviously try coming through while
carrying their clothes and what not.. -d
Tesarik One: She heard the big man and so the glow above her faded out.
a merciful edge: "Splendid. I nominate whoever has all their parts, get
naked and try it." Which naturally disqualified himself. He lifted his brow
at the large man finally speaking, then tilted his head a bit. "That's rather
bleak. What if one of
a merciful edge: us is a twin?"
questing requiem: Girard just did.. really blind folks. -d
Tesarik One: Girard just hit spongy black material. Getting naked was not
the answer.
Tesarik Five: "I was born neither alone, nor in the dark.....Though that is
still a valid option." Seeing Girard hit the wall he shook his head slowly.
That man.....Never the less he went off the brutes words and covered the
sunrods light, by
Tesarik One: "Shall we try the idea about alone and in the dark?" She
offered softly.
A Cairn of Rage: Seeing that none were to eager to take the front, Fenris
nodded towards the sunrod the Elf weas holding and moved over to where they
would have to enter. "If he shares your luck, he's likely dead."
Tesarik Five: placing it back in his bag and sealing it up. Once all the
light was taken out he then moved to try and walk through.
A Cairn of Rage: When it was dark he tried to pass through.
questing requiem: " This seems awfully familiar.. I think I was trapped in a
pudding like this once. " He tapped the material before rolling his shoulders
and going back to redress. " Why not.. Nightsinger knows I prefer the dark. "
-d
Tesarik One: Rohdle would hit the black material as well as Fenris. That was
not the answer.
Tesarik Five: "......Head first?"
Tesarik One: She frowned, and then got down on her hands and knees and
peered up at them. "Perhaps... head first? That is how the majority of babies
are born."
a merciful edge: "Could always try going through head-..." Yep1
a merciful edge: Yep!*
Tesarik One: Ha!
questing requiem: " Everybody but me is a genius. " Snickering minstrel
cued. -d
Tesarik One: She turned her head and bowed it a little and began to crawl
forward.
Tesarik One: And Falqun began to move with ease through the wall! That was
the answer!
Tesarik Five: Seems a few of them had the same idea. Geeting his sunrod back
out he blinked as he saw the healer crawling forward like that. Well, he
couldn't let her go first like that. She was supposed to keep them alive, and
if she died, that
Tesarik One: Well they all got the treat of seeing the minstrel naked, at
least!
a merciful edge: Splendid! No need to cover one's self in blood and mucus.
That was greatly reassuring, and he was happy to follow along now that it
seemed that's what the answer was.
Tesarik Five: would be bad. But with her alreadyy going through he ducked
his head down, pressing it against he wall as he tried going through again,

all save the elf. Reaching out with a hand and coiling it about the various

A Cairn of Rage: "I'll carry them through here, and any of the others needed

Tesarik Five: Seeing those big hands of Fenris grasping the hilts of his
swords he growled at the man, though seeing there really being no choice in
the matter he simply nodded and reached back to flip the leather holding the
swords to his back
A Cairn of Rage: Fenris opened his hands for the weapons and objects of the
others, if they were to give them up.
a merciful edge: That was a pleasant through from the large man, and a nice
thing to do, but if he hadn't been able to get his sword through here, he

A Cairn of Rage: to in turn narrow at the sight of the portal. Rig alone

a very dull adventure, and it was already making him debate heading back
home. At least there'd

the healer, sent that healer a smile and a polite bow of his head. "Splendid,
we may very well need a good healer, though I do hope we don't.
" Well
Girard found it amusing, this was why he kept to singing or talking bandits

questing requiem: track of myself.. this could be tricky.

A Cairn of Rage: There was a slight shake that ran it's way down his body
from stepping out on the other side of the portal. Turning his head back
around and curling his upper lip in disgust before spitting to the ground.
Turning his rough

the line, he stood motionless, waiting for whoever it was that had what they
needed to guide
But with her alreadyy going through he ducked
his head down, pressing it against he wall as he tried going through again,
head first.
questing requiem: That was obviously more of a treat for Falqun than the
rest of the lot. Didn't stop the newly redressed minstrel from whistling
while he following the healer's example. -d
A Cairn of Rage: Follows suit.
Tesarik One: And through the wall they all went! As they pushed through the
wall, they came into another small room, but this room held a light magnetic
field in it. There was an archway at the far side.

Tesarik One: 11 and under... the magnetism is too much for you to move into
the second room. You will need to rid yourself of metal to move forward.
A Cairn of Rage: (Question)
Tesarik One: (Yep, go for it)
a merciful edge: He felt a good tug against his back and frowned. If this
had been a few weeks ago he'd be on the ground in a heartbeat, but as it was,
he'd gained a good bit of strength back, apparently.
Tesarik One: She felt a tug at her longsword, it really was the only metal
she had on, but she tugged against it and kept on walking. At least for now,
able to keep her weapon.
questing requiem: A pity even though the minstrel was hardly reliant on his
weaponry, but for now he was forced to rid himself of the bladed whip and the
twin jeweled daggers, and those rings of his if either of them were metal.
Magic would have to
A Cairn of Rage: Fenris carried no weapons and wore no armor. It was simply
something he had dropped long ago and found no need to ever pick up again. He
watched as those people before him jerked and pulled against the weight
suddenly in their
Tesarik Five: Rohdle was an agile fighter. A man who prided himself on his
ability to dodge a blow and strike with perfect aim, not overpower his
targets. Thus, that tug drew him back and forcing him to groan just a bit as
he stuck to the wall
questing requiem: suffice.. by the Nightsinger he hoped there wasn't an
anti-magic zone ahead. -d
Tesarik Five: now. He pulled again, trying to tug himself from the wall,
only to feel the swords sticking to it. Oh, there was no way those swords
were going anywhere.
Tesarik One: It wasn't a horribly powerful magnetism, it would not make them
take off earrings and rings - yet. Just big items. Weapons, armor.
A Cairn of Rage: weapons. Most seemed to shoulder through it well enough,
all save the elf. Reaching out with a hand and coiling it about the various
hilts and handles of Rohdle's weapons, Fenris spoke in a voice low and harsh.
"
A Cairn of Rage: "I'll carry them through here, and any of the others needed
until the end."
Tesarik Five: Seeing those big hands of Fenris grasping the hilts of his
swords he growled at the man, though seeing there really being no choice in
the matter he simply nodded and reached back to flip the leather holding the
swords to his back
A Cairn of Rage: Fenris opened his hands for the weapons and objects of the
others, if they were to give them up.
a merciful edge: That was a pleasant through from the large man, and a nice
thing to do, but if he hadn't been able to get his sword through here, he
wouldn't be going. Nor would he be letting anyone else take it. Thankfully,
that hadn't been an
Tesarik One: Well, they were lucky ducks cause Fenris was a powerful sort
and could carry those weapons on through the arch to the next room. Alas, the
next room was exactly like the last one....except the magnetic field
Tesarik One: was even STRONGER! (Another Strength check if you have
weapons/armor of metal. DC15)
Tesarik Five: aside, letting him pull them free to take, as well as the
dagger on his hip before he started to walk right next to him, not letting
his swords get out of his sight.
questing requiem: " That'll be appreciated Fenris.. " Well he'd get his
things carried at least.. not like the whip was too heavy right? And then..
of course.. the mage would do that. If he found that mage alive inside, he
was going to kill the spell
questing requiem: slinger! -d
a merciful edge: issue. He shifted his baldric to take more support against
his hand and his shoulder, instead of just the shoulder. "Thank you for the
thought, but I'll be alright." Or maybe he wouldn't be, bleh.

Falqun and Kyle were stuck. Fenris made it through with ease.

thick muscle beginning to coil as veins pressed out against taunt and scarred
flesh. Stopping by each person he bent down to grab hold of their weapon and
heft it into his

they got him onto his feet, and he managed to get on over, yes? Because with
all that added together it was well over 15! Hopefully.
Tesarik One: Well, Girard helped Kyle get on past, but guess what...this
mage was crazy and as they passed through another archway, they'd come to
another magnetic fielded room, even stronger than the last one! Ha!
Tesarik One: Final magnetic room - DC18
Tesarik One: I think that just leaves Kyle, and Fenris to roll.

something.. I'm taking the pieces of his soul gem with me.. "

teacakes and drinks."
A Cairn of Rage: (22)
OnlineHost: a merciful edge rolled 1 20-sided die: 1
a merciful edge: Down.
Tesarik One: Kyle was not going anywhere with his metal. And it was strong
enough by now that even smaller bits of metal would be pulled. But, there
were no more archways, there was a door. Fenris, was breezing through with
the weapons he'd
Tesarik One: picked up, y'all were luuuuuuucky ducks.
A Cairn of Rage: Fenris just grabbed Kyle by the ankle and dragged him since
the man would not give the sword over despite the efforts made to help.
Grumbling and cursing under his breath in that harsh zorcan tongue.
a merciful edge: He unfastened the baldric from his chest and wrapped it
around his hand, then started dragging it along. He would not be dragged by
his ankle, either.
A Cairn of Rage: Ankle. Baldric, belt, whatever got him through.
Tesarik One: Kyle would not be able to drag his weapon out of this room, it
was stuck.
Tesarik One: But, Fenris could pull him through.
Tesarik One: Anyway...... door!
Tesarik One: Door, door, door. With a wooden handle.
a merciful edge: (afk)
questing requiem: And if Girard's suspicions had merit there was either a
null magic field inside.. or a lich. Either way the minstrel would be notably
irate after he got through. speaking of which.. he stopped to examine that

to his weapons. "Are we clear of the.....Whatever it was?" Yes, he was eager
to have those swords back. Feeling naked for not having them on his person,
as well as uneasy
Tesarik One: Yeah it's a wooden handle on a door there Girard.
questing requiem: And the minstrel was distracted by Kyle's unheard whining
no doubt and forgot there was a door handle at all.-d
Tesarik Five: that his blades were not at the ready. The door, well he had
little care for it at the moment. Not unless the brute said they were not yet
clear of the problem.
Tesarik One: They had to get through that door before they were out of the
magnetic field. And everyone could see the wooden handle.
Tesarik Five: Well, in that case, he reached for the door to open it, ready
to get out of there so he could have his weapons back. To hell with searching
for traps, locks, or anything else. Turn, pull, push, tug, kick, or even
smash with head if
Tesarik Five: needed to open it up.
questing requiem: Blinking when he realized again that there was a door,
Girard decided to prepare for what could be inside and .. began to sing! Well
had to wake up his dark, unconscious mind somehow.. [ spellcasting state

Tesarik One: It opened quite easily and did not spring a trap!
A Cairn of Rage: The man was adamant about not taking help, so be it. Using

a merciful edge: Right to the hand, no less.
Tesarik One: Well, the old man lost a few fingers as his force shield
disappeared. This caught the man by surprise as blood spurted from the veins.
Tesarik One: Old Wizard-
Tesarik One: This... would not do at all! The old wizened wizard was left
without his defenses, save for his magic and he was a little rusty. He had
plenty of spells, but he was old and weak, and they looked like
Tesarik One: they could crush him with their pinky fingers. He rose suddenly
and grabbed his cane with his good hand and shuffled to the back bookcase,
speaking quietly, "Retevsnonaklohterbaj." A portal much like
Tesarik One: the one they'd used to enter opened up, and with a final look
over his shoulder, and a few spoken words, he stepped through and the portal
snapped closed! The final words was a spell cast on them all!
Tesarik One: The rocks broken from the golems flew up into the air, and then
split into five portions and each one was sent in a barrage of rocks against
them all. (DC15 agst spell)

rather surprised the guy just ran away after that though.

A Cairn of Rage: Fenris had wrapped his arms over his head and shouldered
the blows as best he could. Whe it all stopped pouring down, he moved to find

questing requiem: Girard was notably to busy cursing the portal-hopping
wizard to be much use at searching the place after crossing the black tiles
at some point. -d
Tesarik One: Kyle, Fenris and Falqun, during a search of the library, all
three find important items. In boxes, chests and sacks secreted around the
area in false books, behind books and in secret compartments.
Tesarik One: Various items were within the containers (will send email with
loot choices) as well as gold from various kingdoms. Now, the question
was..... were they going to head out the way they'd come, or did they catch
the command word the
Tesarik One: wizard had used to get out?
Tesarik One: She moved across the tiles towards the group, and would do a
search.... after she healed. She held her hands upwards and used her healing
energy to heal everyone up a bit (Healing Circle - 10hp to all).
a merciful edge: He hadn't, and it'd already scrolled away! He was too busy
grimacing at having sliced off so many fingers, and getting phantom itching
in his pinky. Still baffled him that the wizard had just run away like that.
The word might come

giving Rohdle a small nod, a measure of respect passing between the before he
turned his back to the crowd and walked back the way he had come. He could

him.. now. " -d
a merciful edge: "What? Why? He just lost..." He peered down at the ground.
"Three fingers, and ran away. I think he learned his lesson."
Tesarik One: Oh, wizard was goooooone. He'd be back though, when they least
expected it. And yes, the man's fingers were on the ground bloody, and they
knew how to get out this way with the
