Tesarik One: Intro: Tonight's mission was an important, and dangerous one.
One that could change the very landscape of the world they dwell upon. Maria
was somber when she called the Heart together at the Navahla Port Union. She
wasted no time
Tesarik One: in getting the info out to them to save as much time as
possible. In short, the Witchwood in Doxenia has had a bad reputation for
some time now. Especially when any of the three moons were full, or new moons
people were afraid to
Tesarik One: enter. Maria, with her influence and bevy of contacts in all
areas of the land....has found out something thought lost to history... in
the middle of the maze in the center of the Witchwood as the locals called
it, there is a demon
OnlineHost: alabamale58 has entered the room.
OnlineHost: alabamale58 has left the room.
Tesarik One: bound to the land, beneath an altar (sorry someone was at the
door). The demon was 'caged' first, then enterprising individuals decided to
build the altar in hopes of giving them the ability to harness some of the
demon's power for
Tesarik One: themselves through sacrifices. The dark magic seeped into the
surrounding woods, and the trees grew so tightly together in the center they
became the 'maze'. Maria has found a spell, that can be cast on the night of
a full moon (any
Tesarik One: of the three moons) or new moon, that opens a path through the
maze to the very center. Sometimes, the Heart was called upon to do things on
the fringe of good or evil, this could be one of those missions for their
task is to find
OnlineHost: Tesarik Five has left the room.
Tesarik One: the demon, and determine whether the demon should be let free
-- or killed on the spot. The portal opens into the darkened forest in
Doxenia's Witchwood. (Begin RP)
Fiendish Arcane: ::Hmm yes and sending the Daemon-fey was always the best
thing for determining if a demon should be released or killed,..his vote
already release it and let it have some fun. Moving to the portal he figured
this would be a good
scales change: Maria had disagreed with his consideration of freeing
Sulaman, as had many others of the Heart, yet leaving him free to place
himself among those sent on a task such as this? May well be it had been an
intelligent thing to do.. let
Tesarik One: Indrila was given the scroll with the spell, and then she
offered them all good luck, and stepped aside.
Lord Kissekatt: In a rather different twist on things, Baldur had found out
through his own network of contacts, and was instructed by those above him,
due to his reputation as an adventurer, to check it out and see what he could
find out. He'd
Fiendish Arcane: little outting, who knew what could be gained by speaking

into his own bloodline to harness the infernal ancestery to boost his own

Lord Kissekatt: planned on using a good bit of stealth to do just that,
though of course he didn't have a means of getting through the maze other
than outsmarting it. Thankfully they wouldn't find him lost in the woods. He
was actually near that
I Yield to None: -If minds could be read then this demon in question would

into the Witchwood. She had taken stock of who was coming with them, some
unknown... and for reasons all her own she had decided to remain quiet. When
she stepped

nose wrinkling a bit. Well, perhaps it wouldn't be all bad. Seemed he now had
a whole gathering of meat shields for his little quest. He'd stay quiet, just
observing them
Lord Kissekatt: as they popped out of the portal. Seemed to be a bit more
than usual.
Indrila: through she supressed her ghost elven ability to have a glow like
moonlight and instead chose to fade into the shadows as she waited for the
others.

this time, he also had a second dagger and a pair of deep crystal bracers.
Having listened to the instructions he made his way through the portal along
with the others.-
Fiendish Arcane: ::He glanced towards the woman who had been given the
scroll, a smile spread across his face.::I could hold onto that for you and
keep it safe.
Indrila: She narrowed her eyes at the one speaking to her, and stared with a
scowl. No answer made, but she tucked it into her cloak.
Tesarik One: Here is the info on Witchwood on our Gazetteer:
scales change: else threw their lot in on this.. through that portal. Kythin
set immediately to freeing his weaponry.. demons were unlikely to go unknown
and without influence even caged ..especially not with an altar nearby. " Let
us get this

Tesarik One: The Witchwood is a vast, sprawling forest. Nearby villagers
have many superstitions about it; one particularly strong one is that it is
very unlucky to enter the forest on the full or the new moon.
Tesarik One: Villagers lock their doors on such nights, rarely even
venturing from their homes. Odd creatures are often sighted on the fringes of
the forest; the deeper one ventures, the more powerful and more
Tesarik One: dangerous the inhabitants become. Some creatures within the
forest are friendly, but most are indifferent or hostile. Even to those
unafraid of a fight, the forest is a spooky place, glimmering with a
Tesarik One: perpetual twilight, and filled with the song of strange birds.
Even at midnight, the birdsong does not cease - however, no birds are visible
in the forest, nor are any other typical woodland creatures.
Tesarik One: Many stories abound about the source of the eerie songs - who
knows if any are true?
Fiendish Arcane: ::The scowl just had him grinning all the more before a
wink of a golden eye was given to the woman before turning and was looking
around the area.::
Indrila: She began to walk forward, as usually that was the case, making
sure to avoid getting near the drow in the party. Ghost elves as a whole
absolutely hated the drow, and it was all she could do to keep herself from
instantly attacking
Of Crimson Tides: ::Was oddly in good enough spirits, despite possibly going
off to die. Demons huh? Well it was the devil's luck that had led her to this
band of 'merry' adventurers to begin with. Her perception of the type meant
the evil being was
Indrila: him upon sight. She cleared her throat, tilted her head a little
higher, and remembered she was on a mission from Maria. She brushed her
silvery grey braid over a shoulder, and attempted to locate this "maze".
Tesarik One: Spell noted btw.
Of Crimson Tides: probably hoarding some riches....scuttle the damn thing!
Then again, selling her soul for food and drink and room and board and a
change of clothes in the first place? You betcha! The pirate lass merely took
in her
Of Crimson Tides: 'allies' at a glance, seeming to size them up more than
concerning herself with whatever dangers lay ahead. The real danger, in her
mind was giving one's back to another and trusting them not to run you
through!::
Lord Kissekatt: "Well well, this is a happy accident, now isn't it?" Though
he seemed less than thrilled outwardly to have a bunch of people show up
right when he was going to be sneaking about, he'd just have to change his
tactics! A flexible mind
Tesarik One: It was not hard to find the maze. They'd walk until they could
walk no more, because the trees were growing so tightly together it was like
a wall.
Lord Kissekatt: was important. He glanced into the forest for a moment, then
tugged his shortbow off his back and strung it before slinging it over his
shoulder once more. May as well make sure it was good to go. "I assume you
...people are here
Lord Kissekatt: for the same reason I am."
Lord Kissekatt: And yes of course he was walking along with them, towards
the back. Ranged combatant, so it made sense! Also, having a bunch of people
in between harm and himself made plenty of sense.
I Yield to None: -At first he hadn't noticed the ghost elf, not really
caring about anyone in the group, especially the stinky pirate. He happened
to take another look around him when they came to the second stop, his form
shifting a bit as he
Fiendish Arcane: ::He gave a slow glance around the group, a shake of his
head given before turning and began moving forward as well. The question just
had him snorting softly,::no we are here for brunch.
Indrila: "What reason is that?" She asked in her accented common, turning to
look over at Baldur. She was already itching to decimate this demon, truly
Maria should have known not to send this ghost elf on a mission that could
possibly
Indrila: result in a demon being spared. Not on her watch!
No True Form: ~She remained toward the back in the shadows silent, she took
in the group and wondered who was in more danger,..the demon,..or their own
group, this was not a happy group of people here, she began to take bets with
herself as to
I Yield to None: adjusted his equipment beneath his gear. Looking around he
moved his gaze to the.... ah, a ghost elf, though the fact she was a elf just
brought a sadistic smirk to his face and a slow lick of his lips.-
Of Crimson Tides: ::snorted a bit of a laugh as the others discussed their
purpose and intentions, drawing out the longsword that was granted to her,
though notably a bit unhappy with the heft compared to her preferred
weaponry:: HAH! I be here fer
No True Form: who might get a sword or dagger in the back first, the
sacrastic one, the drow, the ghost elf, or the stuck up one,..hmmm~ (D)
Lord Kissekatt: "There is a demon here." Eyes narrowed into the forest once
again. "Doxenia is my home, and that is unacceptable. I was here to scout and
report, but given the new circumstances, I see no reason any of us should
leave until it is
Lord Kissekatt: dead."
Of Crimson Tides: th' free drink! Anythin' else be jus' an added perk!
Indrila: She pulled out the scroll and unfurled it, then nodded towards
Baldur. "Very good then." As the scroll opened, she eyed the lady wanting
drink, then back to the scroll and she began to read the arcane words with
ease. She stood
Fiendish Arcane: ::He had to give a chuckle,::I highly doubt the demon
thinks Doxenia is anything or anymore special than any other land out there.
Just a crossing place, nothing more, nothing less. ::He looked over smirking
then towards the one
Indrila: facing the wall of trees, enunciating each and every word properly,
then rolled the scroll and tucked it away into her cloak and waited to see if
it worked.
Lord Kissekatt: "Wonderful. The Obsidian Heart continues to be infested with
the lowest class of rabble, I see." Said with a sneer towards the riff-raff
drunkard. She'd certainly be the finest of assets. He shifted his gaze
towards Chuckles then
Fiendish Arcane: with the scroll before looking towards the trees as well.::
scales change: How had he allowed himself to wind up with this powder keg of
a group? Kythin took note of the most recent addition. " .. Good to see we
are on the same page. " Maybe.. but who could be sure these days? -d
Lord Kissekatt: and tilted his head a bit. "And when something vile is
passing through your territory, you do not wish it killed?"
Tesarik One: Even as the words were being read, the trees began to part.
Like Moses parting the red sea, the trees split forming a wooden path
straight into the middle of the maze.
I Yield to None: "Depends on it's purpose. Would you not keep a spider in
your home if it took care of the flies and mosquitoes?" He spoke absently,
watching the scroll being read before the maze.-
Fiendish Arcane: ::He looked back over before a raise and a fall of his
shoulder was given.::No one has proven that this one is vile.
Fiendish Arcane: ::And as soon as that path was formed he turned and was
moving for it without another word. Head tipped back some glancing towards
the sky then looking forward once more.::
Lord Kissekatt: "It's a demon, you idiot. Of course it is." And then the
drow spoke up. He glanced over thataway then and lifted a brow. "No. That's
why I have cats." And why his wife kept those terrifying birds all over the
place.
Indrila: "Are not all demons vile, by the very fact of their being a demon?"
No, she did not believe in demons following the path of good. Not that she
was a goody two shoes, but she did lean more towards good than evil. When the
trees
scales change: " If I am not mistaken.. it has been determined to be a
demon.. its disorder is vile. Were it a devil... " Yes, someone around who
actually knew the damned difference. -d
Indrila: opened, she stepped up onto the wooden path and began to make her
way deeper into the thick of the forest.
No True Form: ~She tilted her head some then shook it a bit, it was a bit
disconcerting that the only ones she knew well enough to say one thing or
another was the ghost elf and the dude who wanted to take a demon head
home,..hm choices on who
No True Form: she would trust here,...not mr I wanna take a demon head home,
she slid forward silently through the shadow, course with all this arguing
she was wondering if the only safe thing in this forest was the,..demon~ (D)
Fiendish Arcane: ::Another chuckle drifted back from him as he continued on
along the path.::
Tesarik One: At the center of the maze is a glade in which they can see a
large, elaborate, bloodstained stone altar. As they approach, they can see a
number of twisted creatures and a large bear in the glade as well, though the
creatures do not
Tesarik One: seem to notice them while they are still upon the wooden
walkway. All the creatures save the bear appear humanoid, but possess
differing demonic features. Horns, scaled skin, wings in some cases. The
glade is not very large, and
Tesarik One: some bones of other creatures can be seen around the area.
Lord Kissekatt: "Were it a devil, Sir Steelfang, I'd want it killed just the
same. We don't tolerate a bunch of Rumerian garbage loitering in Doxenia,
we're certainly not tolerating this." And oh hey! There was an altar. And a
bunch of things that
I Yield to None: -Despite the current "discussion" the drow was also keeping
an eye out as they walked through, his cloak drawn close around his body and
over the weapons beneath. Making his way through with the others he decided
not to respond any
I Yield to None: longer.- [Spot Check]
Lord Kissekatt: certainly seemed off. He scowled at the sight. This was
certainly qualifying as vile to him. He wasn't a nice person, or even a good
one, but some things just ought not to be allowed to stand.

scales change: Well Kythin certainly disagreed.. a devil could be bargained
with far more acceptably than a demon.. all it took was knowing the rules the
fiend worked by. An impossible task when dealing with demons. " All things
come to an end..
Of Crimson Tides: ::opted to keep her mutterings about "Lord Prissypants"
under her breath for the moment as they made their way onward. knowing it
would be a wee bit difficult to defend herself if she were too busy trading

Of Crimson Tides: giving anything lurking in the vicinity the drop on

Tesarik One: If you step into the glade, please be sure to state that
clearly. Right now, everyone is still on the path, yes?
I Yield to None: -The drow's eyes narrowed before cocking his head to the
