Scarletta had been out to sea for far longer than she would have cared to be. Her escape from that damn port tower in the distant
lands of Keldisan had left her without a doubloon to her name, nor a blade to her body. She had all but lost any sense of time and distance as she survived the seas without so much as a ship in sight, resorting to dining only on fish and seaweed and drinking of the salty waters she had drifted in. While the Siren was well adapted to survival in such a circumstance, it was almost maddening to be alone and isolated for so long. Even if she would just as likely use her wiles to kill any would-be 'rescuer' as she would be thankful for their company, any sort of interaction would have been welcome about now. Wading through the ebb and flow of the tides, she would desperately seek out....anything on the horizon. A ship....a beach to wash up on...even some desert island would be a welcoming sight!

Frustrated at finding nothing but the vast waters that carried her, she would curse at herself in both common speak and her inherent mere tongue.
"Blast these seas! 'Tis indeed a crueler mistress than even I! Am I doom'd ta drift an' wallow like a damned fish fer eternity!?"
Struggling to keep her temper in check, she would opt to dive under the waves once more, hoping to simply observe the other denizens of the sea and perhaps let THEM lead her to shore!

Once more, her efforts were fruitless as the aquatic life in her proximity simply scattered in every which direction, as if they
too were aware of her ever boiling temper at her current dilemma. All that time she had spent learning to imitate land dwellers had clearly dampened her navigation skills. She already had half a mind to just anchor herself to the ocean floor for the evening to ensure that she didn't drift even further from...well, anything that might be nearby, if she was even heading in the right
direction.
"I curse yer blood an' yer name an' yer ancestors an' everythin' there be ta curse ya fer puttin' me in this 'ere condundrum!"
Since her eyes revealed nothing, she would finally just perk up her ears, vainly hoping to find some kind of sound over her own banter and the endless waves about her.

Scarletta would finally burst into a mad fit of laughter as she could faintly hear the tolling of a lighthouse bell in the distance.
At this point, she couldn't have cared less if she was swimming right back into Keldisan, just to escape the sea, even if it meant being a fugitive of the law and leading up to her execution!
"Land ahoy!!! Yer ploys be not a match fer me, ye Infernal bastards!"
Now that she had a sound to follow, she would attempt to swim towards the source of her 'salvation' against the pull of
the waters.

Breaking free of her own bindings had left her completely spent, after one terrible turn of the tides after another ensured
there would be no chance of reaching land on her own this night. All she could do now is let herself drift off wherever the waves might carry her....and hope not to be rudely awakened by the stick of a whaling harpoon or the jaws of another sea predator.

The next morning, a local fisherman and his son would find a rather BIG surprise in their nets as they pulled them in from the
waters. Along with a host of fish, crabs and other bits of the day's catch was the body of the pirate lass.
"Help me with the net, son! We got us something pretty heavy! This is gonna be a good haul! Ready! One....two...three...and PULL!!!"
As the netting was tugged onto the docks, leaving some of the fish wriggling about helplessly, the sleeping Siren did not so much as stir at first.
"Pa...there's....there's a LADY in the net! Do ya think she's.....dead?"
The voices were quite abstract at first, but just enough to stir her from slumber, feeling that terrible pang of salt water in her gut. As the fisher checked on what he believed to be her corpse, she would lurch to the side, spewing up the waters and coughing violently. Panic would set in as well, knowing how they might react if they realized WHAT she was...
