Part 1
It was an emotion the drow had not felt in time rememberable; uncertainty. After his recent hibernation, followed by his wanderlust, Rhlydrin found himself weaker than ever before. His psionic powers had become all but dormant, slowly but surely his strength had left him and though he still had his quickness the reflexes of the past were no longer with him either. What troubled the drow more than anything was that he couldn’t remember why he had hibernated in the first place. Or had he hibernated at all? Black Flame Ventures and the slow corruption of Keldisan filled his last thoughts. The Infernals and their leader Necrosis. Had they done something to him? Had his “hibernation” been forced upon him, had he been punished for that which he couldn’t even remember now?
Regardless, damage had been done. How much damage had become evident to him during his first major assignment with the Obsidian Heart Adventure Guild. The previous night, what was meant to be a simple fact finding mission, had hinted that there was something very wrong with the drow. Not one to admit that he, Rhyldrin Ken’rae, had weakened he simply ignored the emotions and figured it was rust of the senses. But when fighting the crystal trolls and the crystal spider the following evening, it was no longer a question. Not only had he weakened but his stamina and overall vitality had also suffered.
To summarize the flow of emotions currently running through the ebon skinned killer would be to use the word; uncertain. He was growing tired more quickly, losing his breath far sooner than ever before. The toned muscles of the past now sagged in comparison. Was it the land itself he now found himself in? Was he only now being challenged by the world? Were the monsters and individuals in this realm even stronger than those he encountered before. If there was one thing Rhyldrin was sure of it was that he would not allow himself to simply fade away. Whether it led to his death or riches he would not find a hole to crawl into and wither away.
Rhyldrin inhaled deeply through flared nostrils as the last thoughts of the night flooded his mind and then his senses. No, he would not wither away, no he would not run, no he was no longer uncertain. The realm would tremble, the people would feel fear and the monsters would scatter at the coming of this drow. Even if he had to claw his way from the bottom this drow would rule.
I Yield to None: Standing Rhyldrin made his away across the room that he was currently using in the Obsidian Heart and unfolded the training dummy he had built earlier in the day. Inhaling deeply the drow cocked his head to the side before setting
I Yield to None: his stance. Even though he knew he was alone he still looked around carefully to make sure no one could see him, Rhyldrin Ken'rae, the drow of so many people's nightmares, using a training dummy.
I Yield to None: [Rhyldrin Ken'rae, Topaz Champion, 2D40, 20 HP, Defense DC 18]
OnlineHost: I Yield to None rolled 1 20-sided die: 13
I Yield to None: [+5 Spot = 18]
I Yield to None: [Successful, sees that no one is in the room]
I Yield to None: Satisfied he was alone he turned back to the dummy and reset his feet before launching into a combination attack with his bare hands.
I Yield to None: [No DC Check On Dummy. Dummy has 10 HP]
OnlineHost: I Yield to None rolled 2 40-sided dice: 6 28
I Yield to None: [Scored 3]
I Yield to None: [Dummy 3/10]
I Yield to None: Stepping back the drow would move the side quickly and sent his leg snapping out toward the center of the dummy before recoiling in the other direction and backhanding it where the face would be.
OnlineHost: I Yield to None rolled 2 20-sided dice: 13 14
I Yield to None: [Scored 0]
I Yield to None: He lost his balance during the initial kick and stumbled to the site and then around without even touching the dummy at all. Falling to a knee, suddenly winded, the drow growl low and simply rushed the dummy in frustration.
OnlineHost: I Yield to None rolled 2 40-sided dice: 32 29
I Yield to None: [Scored 7]
I Yield to None: [Dummy 10/10]
I Yield to None: Well at least he could still run into a bad guy though with this one doing nothing but standing there. It was hard to tell with the way his senses were obviously no longer where they should be. He crashed through the dummy and
I Yield to None: slammed into the wall behind it. The impact knocked over the pitcher of water on the end table and brought upon a scolding from below in the form of a broom smacking the ceiling beneath.
Moving back across the room the drow would lift the jug from the floor, trying to keep whatever water hadn’t split within the vessel. Setting it back on top of the end table he returned to the broken dummy and simply stared down at it. Another deep breath was taken, this one less... violent than the one just a few moments before. Shaking his head the drow moved silently across the room to look out the window. Before he got the window though he pulled on his Shadowsilk cloak to keep from standing out in the window on this particularly clear night.
OnlineHost: I Yield to None rolled 1 20-sided die: 3
I Yield to None: [+5 Hide Shadowsilk = 8]
I Yield to None: He watched casually and frowned when at least two individuals glanced in his general direction. They didn't so much look at him through the window as attempt to find the source of whatever disturbed their peripheral vision. Remaining
I Yield to None: perfectly still, so all that were moving were his eyes, he surveyed the streets below. At least those he could see.
OnlineHost: I Yield to None rolled 1 20-sided die: 17
I Yield to None: [+5 Alert = 23]
I Yield to None: Well at least his vision was currently behaving for him. He saw several rats, two hunched over people creeping around the same building. He focused on the two creepers after noting a cook tossing garbage out his back door the next
I Yield to None: street over. He also noted a whore working the corner and several cats looking for the rats he saw earlier. Various other events were taking place but were of little concern for him. The creepers..... what were they creeping for?
