Nobilis Arcanus: (Yup)
Tesarik One: With summer heat comes the melting of snow and ice in the
regions far north. Of course, summer in the north is nothing like summer
elsewhere for it is still incredibly chilling. The seas have melted,
Tesarik One: allowing for travel through the once-frozen ocean and a pyramid
thought to belong to Pharoah Upsha was discovered in the ice in a barren part
of the Ice Floe Inlet.
Tesarik One: A man seeks our aid to help find his son who was part of an
expedition to uncover the tomb. He was due to be back days ago but has not
returned with the half a dozen others that went with him. So, we
Tesarik One: are asked to investigate and hopefully return the son to his
father! The Port Union mages are waiting, the portal open and beyond the
portal flurries of snow and a cold chilling breeze await them.
Tesarik One: (Begin RP)
Lord Kissekatt: Well, here came the good Baron Kissekatt, looking as
amicable as ever. Sour expression on his face, like the very thought of
spending time with any of these lesser folks just tasted foul. Still, he'd
not shirked from doing some work
Lord Kissekatt: before, and he was fairly good in cold weather, so he may as
well tag along, right? He was equipped somewhat differently from normal.
Still had fancy clothes on, but rather than his coat, he had on studded
leather armor emblazoned
Nobilis Arcanus: :::Moving forward he was always ready to head out on trecks
like this. The warmage coat remained half buckled, which the gloved hand rose

Ah, the Catlord

to her as others but her new acquisition, a ring of cold immunity, helped any

Indrila, what with her having that huge dog. Cats and dogs tended to not get

him a blank stare for

behaved. He may very well save your life, so hold your tongue." And into the
snow she went!
questing requiem: " Well you've a talent for unleashing horrors upon the
word, my Lord. Naturally someone might concern themselves with the safety of
the young Lady and the Knight Pearce. " At the very least the minstrel did

Those unprepared would find their exposed flesh frozen, lips chapped and
cracked and violent shuddering as the body attempted to keep warm. There was

Lord Kissekatt: "If he does, then I shall thank him. Until then, his
behavior remains to be seen by me." He looked to Girard once again then and
narrowed his eyes a bit. "And what sort of horrid host do you take me for?
Guests are guests, and have
Tesarik One: white landscape, and they'd see ahead of them the chunks of ice
some as big as a house floating in the inlet. It is summer, so there is not
as much snow and ice as usual. The snow is 3 to 4 feet deep and falls in
quiet flurries.
Tesarik One: For the time being, they are able to see ahead of them so they
can move along the cracked shoreline towards the direction they have been
told to go. North-west, following the line of the Ice Floe Inlet.
Lord Kissekatt: no reason to be mistreated." And then yep through the
portal. Good thing he was bundled up, even if not magically so. He pulled a
scarf up over most of his face to protect it and had a look about, then
followed along with the group.

Lord Kissekatt: He lifted a brow and squinted a bit, then trudged forward
and moved over to whatever it was he'd seen, nudging the body in the snow
with his foot. "Hm. Seems someone wasn't very lucky."
Tesarik One: In the snow, there is a frozen body of a human male, lying dead
near a pile of wood that it clearly set up for a fire. Any money or weapons
it may have had in life has been stolen by whoever murdered
Tesarik One: it. Even the man's clothing was stolen, including hits boots.
His skin has turned blue, his hair frozen.

questing requiem: Not exactly known for been of keen senses, quite the

Indrila: Mel who was sniffing around the camp. She glanced to the others,
then slowly turned about trying to see if the man's ghost was nearby.
(Shroudsight)
Tesarik One: The ghost was nearby, anger marked upon his face, trapped in
this world due to the violent way he'd died.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Walking over for a moment looking down to the corpse.
Turning he moved around the area slowly examining to well see if anything
might give a clue while the others stood over near the corpse. Yeah dead

frown forming as he gave a small tug to the braided beard.::
Lord Kissekatt: "Hm." he didn't see any real need to let the ghost confront
its killer, but he didn't see any reason not to, either. He didn't really
have a problem with ghosts, and he certainly knew he intended to be an angry
one someday. (brb
Indrila: "You must leave this place, only pain comes from an attempt at
retribution." She said to the spirit, then nodded to Girard. "His spirit is
here, being consumed by the anger as most spirits are that cannot move on. We
should burn the
Indrila: body." She glanced to Rhyss, then Baldur, "Either of you have means
to burn in this cold wasteland?"
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Looking over at the question he gave a nod,:;I figure I
can work something up. ::He was moving over and knelt down next to the
corpse, pack shifted around and off digging in the pack. A flask removed, cap
taken off and he sniffed
questing requiem: " Hm.. Indrila perhaps there is another way to soothe this
spirit. " About the best method he knew to do that was 'awaken' the undead in
question. " We shouldn't waste an ally who can reach peace through means
other than direct veng
questing requiem: ence.. " -d
Nobilis Arcanus: at the contents. Yeah,..didn't need to be pouring water
again in an attempt to burn something after that failed attempt for a
whirlwind of flames. Looking up to Girard then to Indrila, brow arched some
while holding the flask over
Nobilis Arcanus: the corpse ready to pour.::Shall I wait then?
Indrila: "What is it you suggest?" She rose and moved away from the body,
and pulled on Mel's collar since the sainthound was barking at the man's
ghost, that's what sainthounds did after all!
Lord Kissekatt: "Burn the body?" He shrugged, then tugged the spear off his
back, activated the flame enchantment, then gave the corpse a good stab right
in the chest. Oh wait, was Girard wanting to do something else? Oops.
questing requiem: Girard certainly would attempt his idea.. kneeling before
the corpse.. since he couldn't rely on his eyes to view the ghost in
question. " A spectre's rage is as bad as a ghast's mindlessness.. perhaps I
can restore some of his
Indrila: "...."
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He just shook his head some before a gloved hand ran over
his face. The flask was slipped back into the pack before once more
shouldering it and rose.::
Indrila: Baldur got a frown from Indrila, then she looked over towards
Girard and ripped the flaming spear out of the dead man's body. The body was
probably already burning, but there was time to put it out, maybe, before the
entire body was
Indrila: destroyed.
Lord Kissekatt: He didn't attempt to remove the spear either, just left it
in there so a good fire could catch, and shrugged at Girard kneeling next to
it. "Sorry mate, selective hearing I suppose." Grin. Although he'd tug the
spear out before he

for his ankle sheathed dagger was likely not a fair sign either. " If any of
you disagree with this idea.. speak now.. " Indrila's ditaste was rather
abrupt displayed and cert
questing requiem: ainly made the minstrel jump back from the flames. " ... A
little warning next time? " -d
Indrila: She just kept on frowning, and whispered..."Your selective hearing
is going to get you killed."
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He was removing the flask that held the endless water
now, shaking his head he was pouring the water on the flames since there was
an endless flow and all.::
Lord Kissekatt: "Hey, you're the one that suggested it in the first place."
Tesarik One: It was too late, the body was consumed with fire, but oddly
enough they each heard a hiss of "thanks"in their heads before those that
could see the ghost disappeared.

ghost was still about. "You're welcome, by the way. Just remember who helped

about agitating the likes of Baldur. " A rational ghost could have been given

Lord Kissekatt: He slung his spear onto his back once more and squinted off

Indrila: She was having trouble in the snow. She rubbed at her eyes, then
Mel went bounding forward when Baldur called out. Finally, she made out the

questing requiem: No reason not to move forward with the Catlord pointing
the way with the hound in chase. Least blood showed quite clearly against the
white of snow. -d
Nobilis Arcanus: Hmm blood and paws this could become intresting,::he kept
moving forward and was already tapping into the arcane, more to the point his
lineage and preparing the spell incase something attacked them.::
Indrila: Mel most certainly smelled the blood, and began to follow the trail
of blood sniffing. Indrila tugged her blade out, and began to follow her
sainthound as the trail of blood was followed, taking them it seemed even
closer to the
Indrila: pyramid that looked far more in place in sand it seemed than
surrounded by ice and snow.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He followed the hound then halted, arms crossed over his
chest.::Must have been a sight before the ice claimed it.
Lord Kissekatt: "Bunch of blind fuckers." Muttered under his breath before
he headed over towards the pyramid as well, then eyed all that blood as they
came to it. And the paws. He stopped at one of the paw prints and crouched
down, staring at it a
Lord Kissekatt: moment.
Tesarik One: As they traveled the path of the bloody paw marks, towards the
massive half-frozen pyramid of Upsha, they'd find the dead body of a shaggy
winter wolf......awwwww. Her body was cold, so she'd been dead for a little
while at least.
questing requiem: The pyramind certainly didn't look native by Girard's
opinion.. looked far more at home in Thanes.. or perhaps Madder. And.. low
and behold.. another corpse! Hard not to suspect a trail of bodies all the
way to the pyramind. -d
Lord Kissekatt: "Hm." He had his suspicions at least, which were apparently
confirmed when he moved on and found the body! He smirked just a little. "Oh
look. A canine." Said with a look right at Mel.
Indrila: Death everywhere so far, this was proving quite sad even for the
melancholy ghost elf. Mel sniffed at the dead body, then began to bark like a
crazy dog and nudge the body with his nose. She talked sharply to the dog in
Indrila: ghost elven, but Melethril would not stop pushing at the dead body
and yipping.
Tesarik One: The dead dog began to move a little....
questing requiem: " ... This one leave a vengeful spectre as well? "
Directed Indrila's way of course, .... and then movement.. well good reason
to step back. ..And draw his sword. -d
Nobilis Arcanus: :::Seeing the winter wolf then the sainthound going off
nudging and barking at the corpse had an eyebrow arching. Looking towards
Indrila he would tilt his head before catching the slight movement and
frowned,::hmm.
Lord Kissekatt: At the sharp talking, he responded in ghost elven, because
why not? "Oh let him have a bite." And then...it moved? He narrowed his eyes
and pulled his spear free once again. Ghosts were one thing, undead wolves
were quite another.
Indrila: She reached out and grabbed Mel by the collar and pulled him back
away from the body as it began to move, and still held her blade in one hand
as well.
Tesarik One: As the body moved, a white shaggy head popped up from beneath
the dead body....then another... and another. Three itty bitty wolf pups, who
began to yip.
Nobilis Arcanus: :::And Winter Wolves a whole different story, no weapon

seemed the body was shielding three wolf pups. Mel moved forward and began to
lick the
Lord Kissekatt: "Oh I don't know. They're cute now, but they'll grow into
that." Said with a nudge of his spear to the dead wolf. "On the other
hand....that could be nice to have around." He put his spear up again, then
crouched down and eyed the
Lord Kissekatt: little wolves more closely.
questing requiem: Well that was far ... alright it was a little more
concerning if one happened to have a soft spot for any creature given such a
circumstance. Exactly how he'd wound up with a half-ghost foster-daughter!
Girard did sheathe his blade
Indrila: heads of the little pups, and nudge them a bit, which made them yip
a little more and run about.
questing requiem: and crouch down to inspect one of the pups.. mostly to see
if they'd been harmed in any way by what had killed their guardian. -d
Tesarik One: They had some blood on them, but it was not their own. They
were three healthy pups, but far too young to be without a mother, they'd
need to be cared for at least a little while.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He reached over and lightly pet one of the pups heads, he
then was gently lifting one examining the blood on it.:::Well this one seems
unharmed, what of the others?
Indrila: "Well I expect we'll need to bring the pups back to the inne, and
see if one of the druids can nurse them to health." Not literally of course.
questing requiem: " I'm sure my Bobtail would find dodging the pup amusing.
" Yes, Girard had a pet cat.. how nice. One pup would certainly going with
him. " ... Agreed, Indrila. Though we can not trudge through the pyramid with
them.. " -d
Tesarik One: The pyramid was before them just a few steps away, and there
was a door. Upon the door were carved runes (Runin). One rune each in a
little box that one would have to poke their hand into to push. It was a code
they needed to figure
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Yes he was planning on claiming one as well,..let it play

Lord Kissekatt: "I don't see why we ought to take them anywhere. If they
can't survive out here on their own, and they wound up in this situation,
clearly they were not meant to survive in the first place. We'd be defying
the natural order." Well,
Lord Kissekatt: that and they were wild animals. They'd probably grow up to
maul whoever took one.
Indrila: "I will leave Mel out here to watch them while we enter." She then
gave the command to Melethril, who began to nudge and yip at the pups again
to keep their attention.
Nobilis Arcanus: Think you could return them to the inne Indrila then return
to us? ::He arched an eyebrow looking to Baldur,::or perhaps we were meant to

Nobilis Arcanus: (Yup as well as knowledge on codes and secret scripts)
Lord Kissekatt: "Well that's an awfully arrogant assumption." Coming from a
nobleman, that should be pretty harsh! As for the runes, he had no idea.
Tesarik One: (Or have Knowledge (Secret Codes/scripts)?)
questing requiem: And there came the thoughts of dragging the Catlord into
the shadow plane and leaving him there. he was fairly sure the Obsidian Heart
Ring wouldn't get him out of that paticular plane! .. Swallowing distaste

scripts was coming in handy as she attempted to figure out what exactly was
going on. "The name of the person buried here was.... Upsha?"
Nobilis Arcanus: As stated sometimes things happen even in the natural order
that can not be expalined,::a faint shrug was given.::They are given the
chance to live by being found, and yes Upsha.
Indrila: She pointed to the U. "Well, perhaps we must spell out the name?"
Nobilis Arcanus: Upsha Rise,::he tilted his head staring at the door. Brow

Nobilis Arcanus: Well rises,::he looked over towards Indrila then the

Tesarik One: So, he poked his hand into the openings to press the runes in
that order?
Lord Kissekatt: He was about to mention the man forgot one of the S's, based
on the letters he'd heard. He wasn't poking his hand into any of those holes
though.
Tesarik One: It was a good thing he got it correct then.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Yes he was poking his hand into the boxes poking the

a tomb as he expected them to be. And Rhyss hadn't loss a hand so things were
off to a good start. Time to watch.. the pyramid open up? -d
Tesarik One: The door slid in on itself and there was a corridor before
them. The door made a lot of grinding noise, so there was really no way for
them to sneak into the pyramid, because as soon as the pyramid door started
opening the Tomb
Tesarik One: Robbers already inside knew they were there! There was a blast
of ice down the corridor from the room within, aiming right for Rhyss!

Indrila frowned and moved forward, kneeling at the side of the poor man and
resting her hand upon his frozen forehead as she offered a soft prayer, then

Oops.
questing requiem: Girard certainly would attempt his idea.. kneeling before
the corpse.. since he couldn't rely on his eyes to view the ghost in
question. " A spectre's rage is as bad as a ghast's mindlessness.. perhaps I

Nobilis Arcanus: ::He just shook his head some before a gloved hand ran over
his face. The flask was slipped back into the pack before once more
shouldering it and rose.::
Although he'd tug the
spear out before he

little warning next time? " -d
Indrila: She just kept on frowning, and whispered..."Your selective hearing
is going to get you killed."
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He was removing the flask that held the endless water
now, shaking his head he was pouring the water on the flames since there was
an endless flow and all.::
Lord Kissekatt: "Hey, you're the one that suggested it in the first place."
Tesarik One: It was too late, the body was consumed with fire, but oddly
enough they each heard a hiss of "thanks"in their heads before those that
could see the ghost disappeared.
OnlineHost: tehcontractor has entered the room.
Tesarik One: see the ghost watched it disappear.*
Tesarik One: (Spot Check!)
Lord Kissekatt: Head tilted at that hiss, and he snickered a little. "See?

ghost was still about. "You're welcome, by the way. Just remember who helped

Tesarik One: Rhyss, Indrila and Girard just saw lots of snow..... Baldur on
the other hand, he noticed something ahead of them in the snow. Very hard to
see the white stone pyramid amidst the white snow, but there it was.
Tesarik One: Baldur could just make out the top of it, and once he found
that it was easier to make out the stepped sides, half of it still covered in
ice and snow.
OnlineHost: Tesarik One rolled 1 10-sided die: 9
Lord Kissekatt: He slung his spear onto his back once more and squinted off
into the distance once again, then perked up a bit. "Oh look at that!" Said
before he pointed.
Indrila: She was having trouble in the snow. She rubbed at her eyes, then
Mel went bounding forward when Baldur called out. Finally, she made out the
stone shape before them and began to look around to see if there was anything
else to be
Indrila: seen to show them exactly where they needed to go.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Looking over in the direction that Baldur had pointed off
to, hand raised to shield his eyes some while squinting.::
Tesarik One: As they move closer, they find clear upon the snow and ice a
trail of blood and large paws in the snow.
OnlineHost: tehcontractor has left the room.
questing requiem: No reason not to move forward with the Catlord pointing
the way with the hound in chase.
Indrila he would tilt his head before catching the slight movement and
frowned,::hmm.
Nobilis Arcanus: :::And Winter Wolves a whole different story, no weapon
drawn but his hands wreathed in electricty, seeing the three little heads the
current was drawn back into his body before moving forward frowning,::well I

Tesarik One: Awwwww.
Indrila: Well, that was unexpected. She had thought the wolf was going to
rise as some undead creature and they'd have to fight it off, when instead it
seemed the body was shielding three wolf pups.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Yes he was planning on claiming one as well,..let it play
with golden in the house.::
Nobilis Arcanus: Think you could return them to the inne Indrila then return
to us? ::He arched an eyebrow looking to Baldur,::or perhaps we were meant to
come upon them and return with the pups. ::He

Nobilis Arcanus: was then putting one of the pups down and rose moving for
the door. Head tilted as he began looking over the runes.::
Nobilis Arcanus: (Yup as well as knowledge on codes and secret scripts)
Lord Kissekatt: "Well that's an awfully arrogant assumption." Coming from a
nobleman, that should be pretty harsh! As for the runes, he had no idea.
Tesarik One: (Or have Knowledge (Secret Codes/scripts)?)
questing requiem: And there came the thoughts of dragging the Catlord into
the shadow plane and leaving him there. he was fairly sure the Obsidian Heart
Ring wouldn't get him out of that paticular plane! .. Swallowing distaste
ensued instead. -d
Nobilis Arcanus: ( yup x 2)
Tesarik One: (Ok)
questing requiem: [ nope. that's Kythin's game. heh ]
Nobilis Arcanus: As is your assumption Baldur,...do me a favor come and
stick your hand in the left hole and press the rune.
Indrila: The quiet ghost elf snickered hearing Rhyss tell Baldur to stick
his hand into the hole. She moved to the side, watching Mel and the three
pups a moment, then back to the door. "Well, it is some kind of puzzle.
Unfortunately I do

"If you can explain how letting the natural order of things decide what
should happen rather than some misguided sense of compassion for a wild
animal is arrogant, sure."
Tesarik One: Indrila would be able to at least make out they were letters.
Indrila: "UR ...PI....SS...HE...AS..." Her knowledge of secret codes and
scripts was coming in handy as she attempted to figure out what exactly was
Brow
arched and he began to press the runes in that order.::
Nobilis Arcanus: Well rises,::he looked over towards Indrila then the
others.::
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Yes he was poking his hand into the boxes poking the
runes in that order.::
questing requiem: " Upsha.. Rises.. " .. Well that sounded quite fitting for
a tomb as he expected them to be.

Tesarik One: The ghost appeared quite visibly, and of course since Baldur

"The fuck.."
Indrila: Oh dear, Indrila was laughing. It really wasn't a laughing matter,
at all. Poor man had died, but watching the spirit chase after Baldur was
just poetic justice.
Lord Kissekatt: Except now he knew to always, always burn the corpses.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Hearing the scream and baldur he turned his head.::What

glowing a soft red. Upsha has Risen.
Tesarik One: ---the end.....mwahahaha---

Lord Kissekatt: Well at least something horrible was awakened and Baldur
