Update 2.14
Greetings OH Members:
As you know, the Boss Lady is gone for the weekend so this little affair has fallen into my hands. So This letter may read a little different than ones in the past have. One special note, is that any XP turned in, will not be posted until Pam gets back and has the time to do so.
Don't forget, today is Sunday. If you have crafting skills it's time for you to ask for your crafting points. This is also the end of the month, so if you have skills that give you special things such as gold once a month, that should be done today, or this week!
QUEST LIMITS & SIGN UPS
If you know you want to be in an adventure, then please email the one running it, and tell them you will be there on Tuesday or Saturday. If you aren't there on time (or inform the DM you'll be a little late) your spot will be given to first come, first serve. Please tell the DM which character you are bringing so they can scale the baddies appropriately.
So, you all know when the quests are - Tuesday and Saturday. .
So remember - first eight who sign up go.
MOST LIKELY TO...
Down in the "General Forum" section is the OOC everyone (well almost everyone) voted on the awards. The results are in. Both the winner of each category and the runners up are named. If there was a tie then both names appear.
SPRING RECRUITING BONUS
This is still going on! Any new character (remember, each player is only allowed at the most 7 PC's unless you've been given a freebie) will be allowed to start with 35xp, 2000gp, and 1 Healing Potion (10hp). This allows a person to start at Topaz Adept with a class AND a profession.
If you recruit a new PLAYER (not just a new char from a current player) into OH, you will be given a bonus of 10xp instead of the usual 5xp. And remember, you don't get any xp from "recruiting" yourself!
You are welcome to open recruiting rooms, but we don't focus on such things so that is just if YOU want to do it! I sometimes open an OOC Recruiting Room just so I can answer questions about the game.

Removal of "Vice Grip" skill
There was some confusion about this skill. Basically it has been removed due to errors within the system. There are now 2 weapons that are both One Handed and Two Handed. They are the Katana and the Bastard Sword. They do different Damage and cost differently. If you have one it MUST be written in your Dossier as to what one it is. The Two Handed or One Handed.
Scar Matches
Are now up and running, these are a more serious type of engagement. Used mostly when two people have the want to seriously wound the other just this side of death.
Change in Emporium Items
The "Amulet of Armor" is now being called the "Amulet of Defense" since everyone has been using it for both mundane and magical defense when it was intended only for hardening your natural armor, so now there is an item that ONLY gives mundane defense a little cheaper. There is also an item that boosts your magic save roll.
Lose Turn Skills
All lose turn skills that are marked in red "Combat" grow, not just Combat Class lose turns. If you see one that is not marked, just let tesarikone/acairnofrage know.
Natural 1 and 20
We all have seen what a Natural 1 and a Natural 20 can do in the combat area. We have extended that outwrds so that it is now a borad blanketed tool. If you roll a natural 20 on anything, it will be considered an automatic pass, this is to stand for skill checks, saves, even spell saves. If you roll a Natural 1, it will be considered a fail, no matter your boosts. Only combat will require the additional rolling after a Natural 1. the rest is just a fail.
Proctors Now Get Something
All proctors get 1xp for proctoring marksmanship, spars, races, etc.
Shields as Weapons
We have added a skill that allows you to use a shield as a weapon, as well as an improvement for shields that give slashing damage.
Shield Weapon: This skill allows you to use a shield as a weapon, giving it damage according to the chart below. If you wish to use both a shield and another weapon at the same time, you must have Dual Wield.
Buckler = 1d2
Light Wooden = 1d4
Light Steel = 1d5
Heavy Wooden, Rider's, Spiked Wooden = 1d6
Heavy Steel = 1d8
Improvement: A shield can have it's edges sharpened or studded in some way to give slashing damage instead of bludgeoning damage. You must have "Shield Weapon" to use a shield as a weapon.
