Update 2.10
Greetings, OH Members:
Yet another week has come and gone within the world of the Obsidian Heart. We've got lots of things going on right now, so there's no excuse to not be active, right?! We've got storylines, quests, missions, various roleplay, and a high impact championship. Have fun!
Don't forget, tomorrow is Sunday. If you have crafting skills it's time for you to ask for your crafting points.
NEW STORYLINE COMING SOON!
Knowledge can come in all forms and from all sorts of people, too. Having heard of the Obsidian Heart Adventuring Company and the mix of those in its employ, a woman by the name of Pandora has made her way across the better part of Tenebrus to observe. Could she find help for her cause there, or at least a bit of wisdom to better aid her search across Arith? The items being sought, and for whom, have yet to be revealed—but those in the Obsidian Heart would be well compensated for help. If all the cards fell right, there were far more lucrative and beneficial devices to be had by association to Pandora and those who backed her.. but would the adventurer’s take her word? And where would these missions take them? The answers were there.. though so were the dangers... Pandora is currently staying at the Inne, seeking those with a true adventurer’s heart and a thirst for the knowledge that comes with it. Is that you?

PC WISH LIST
If you have not given me your wishlist, please come up with a wish list of 1-5 items you would like to earn for each of your characters. This can be a description (i.e. something that boosts spot), or a particular loot item (i.e. a medic's kit), or just a slot you'd like to fill (i.e. my waist slot). Send me the list and I'll stash it and if possible during my quests I'll make some things available.
HI-IMPACT CHAMPIONSHIP
If you haven't replied back to temptofblack about joining the championship (which starts tomorrow - Sunday) then you need to do so now! Right now, she will be allowing up to two characters per person. We would like to avoid if at all possible people have to spar themselves which is why we have decided to be careful about multi-chars from the same player. If it happens, it happens, but hopefully it won't!
The Hi-Impact Championship begins on Sunday, and it is as simple as it looks (see above)! All ranks are permitted (as are multiple character entries), and participants must keep in mind that these matches will hold nothing back. While they are intense, however, all matches end in a KO, not death. Each match is awarded the same XP payout as usual (4XP Winner, 2XP Loser) – but at the end of the championship, the first four places receive prizes!
Prizes:
First Place: 6,000gps & Special Prize
Second Place: 4,000gps
Third Place: 2,000gps
Fourth Place: 1,000gps
Rules:
- Championship Matches must be proctored by a Moderator.
- Individual matches must be completed (5) days from notification of it being your round.
- If match is not completed, absent participant forfeits match.
- Match wins still apply to Activity Spar Wins, to count towards ribbons!
- You can still only be a participant in (1) hi-impact spar a day!
IN CHARACTER NEWSLETTER
There is a poll for the name of our newsletter here, please vote!
Also, the first newsletter will be coming out this coming week. That means you need to submit anything you wish to be added into the newsletter by this Wednesday, March 13th, to TesarikOne. Remember, this is an IC newsletter so the submissions should come from your character, or be in-character type items such as gossip & rumors, advertisements for shops or businesses, articles of interest and the like.
SPRING RECRUITING BONUS
This is still going on! Any new character (remember, each player is only allowed at the most 7 PC's unless you've been given a freebie) will be allowed to start with 35xp, 2000gp, and 1 Healing Potion (10hp). This allows a person to start at Topaz Adept with a class AND a profession.
If you recruit a new PLAYER (not just a new char from a current player) into OH, you will be given a bonus of 10xp instead of the usual 5xp. And remember, you don't get any xp from "recruiting" yourself!
THE NEXT CLUE
My quests are going to have a theme for several weeks, and it's going to be something of a clue game. You will have to figure out WHERE we go next from the clues you gain on the quests or in between, such as in the update.
HINT: Still in Sarkotos!
After clearing the 'chain wielding bitch' from beneath the town near Raven Tree, a map to a place called Maze House was given to them. Even owning a map showing how to get to this place is illegal in all countries! It is a dangerous, deadly place but it seems that is where they are expected to go next!
This is common knowledge, but to find out anything more you will have to speak to one of the persons that went to in-character. Daemian, Adal Ag Hamid, Torrin, Violeta, Logen, Gar-Thog, William.

UPDATES, PATCHES, CLARIFICATIONS
--1. Artisan Crafting Patch
I am not sure how this wasn't caught in the past, but allowing artisan craftsman to craft very expensive armors and weapons and only charging 1 CP wasn't fair in the system, so artisan crafting is going by the same rules that the other crafters have to abide by, and that is 1 crafting point per every 1000gp of the item. So a 5000gp armor would be 1/4 of the cost in gold, and 5 CP.
--2. New Crafting Skills
I've added "Inkantation" and "Wandcraft" as skills you can take if you already have Craft Magic Item. Inkantation allows you to magically tattoo PC's or yourself, and Wandcraft lets you create wands which are 10-charge items that anyone can use.
--3. Alchemical Items for Alchemy Skill
Now there is a list of alchemical items that an Alchemy skilled person can create besides potions such as forgery papers, sunrods, tindertwigs, armorbright and catstink. These are listed under the potions.
--4. Karma
Karma has been clarified.
--5. Combat Companion vs Animal Companion
Yet another booboo as they tend to happen, we had two skills that did the same thing. So now there is ONE skill, called Animal Companion. So if you had Combat Companion, change that to Animal Companion. Everything else about it is the same.
--6. Familiars Can Fight
We have clarified that a Familiar can function as an Animal Companion and actually fight in combat, yet they do not get any special free skills. They have dice, and hit points, and can channel your spells as an arcanist.
--7. Races Expanded
I've added a few new races: Dragonborn, Fey'ri, Giantkin, Lycanborn and Dhampire. Remember that all races are allowed, and if they aren't listed or you don't like how one is set up you can always use Original as your race.
--8. Dragon Race Change
If you are a DRAGON you need to note that the skill you were given for race has been changed and upgraded. You do not have "Draconic Heritage" anymore, that is reserved for those with draconic heritage (ha!). Instead, you have Dragon Breath that you can use throughout combat.
--9. Learning New Languages
Not only have I added a couple new languages and reorganized the languages, there is now an opportunity to learn new languages from fellow PC's. Check that out on the Language thread.
--10. Moon Phases and Weather
Moon phases for our major moon Lunne are available on the board, and I am going to attempt to update weather on the news scroller at the top of the page every few days, as I was asked by a member to start doing. I will probably not include our other two moons as they are smaller and Lunne is the one that makes the difference in the world.
--11. Tattoos
Tattoos are up, and prices are listed. There is still much work to be done but you can start getting a tattoo of the ones listed now. If you have ideas (especially for the symbols listed alone at the bottom) let me know. And let's try to think of things that don't completely emulate skills, and that don't make you all-powerful in combat. Roleplay flavor is appreciated always! Things that help tactics and talents are good too. Tattoos marked "personal" are strictly flavor and do not take up your body mod slot.
