Update 2.09
Greetings, OH Members:
Note: I do not feel well at all today, so tonight you will be free to do as you wish, I won't be hosting anything. If I get to feeling better after a nap, then I'll open the inne for a bit.
I hope you've all had a wonderful week both in-character and out-of-character. I don't have a ton of things to discuss this week but one thing I do want to mention is that we LOVE for you to do your own missions and storylines, and roleplay... but please be aware that if we've listed a night that one of the Moderators is leading the roleplay, either ask that player if and when something is going on so your plans don't step on that Mod's toes and ruin the plans, or host your things on the other 3 empty nights, or countless hours before or after set roleplay/quests that are available. I can't imagine a worse feeling as far as Moderating goes than to plan out a night of roleplay, then when you go to IM folks the chat room being told someone else is hosting something already.
Remember that if someone has said they are leading roleplay on a certain night, that means they've put time and effort into a mission, a quest, or a storyline, or something and by hosting your things during that time this could really start causing some issues and hard feelings between players. I won't go into detail as to how that makes people feel, but as someone that puts a lot of time into OH activities and looks forward to it, I can say that I myself would feel a myriad of emotions from disappointment, anger, and sadness if someone else swooped in on my night, and left me with no one. All I'm asking is for communication....please. <3
{And no, I'm not putting this in the update to call out certain individuals so please please please do NOT take this as a personal attack. It is not. As far as I know this has only ever happened once. I want to put a stop to it before it causes an issue. It is an issue that EVERYONE needs brought to their attention so that it does not happen in the future with anyone, for any reason, for as we grow larger and get more players we will have all sorts of in-fighting and hard feelings if we don't show respect to each other. If our core shows respect to each other (you don't have to like everyone of course), then new folks as they join in will see that and hopefully do it as well. This is why I am using a public forum so everyone knows the etiquette involved. I am not mad, or disappointed, I just want to nip it in the bud before people get upset.}
Don't forget, tomorrow is Sunday. If you have crafting skills it's time for you to ask for your crafting points.

This means you! If you'd like to, please come up with a wish list of 1-5 items you would like to earn for each of your characters. This can be a description (i.e. something that boosts spot), or a particular loot item (i.e. a medic's kit), or just a slot you'd like to fill (i.e. my waist slot). Send me the list and I'll stash it and if possible during my quests I'll make some things available.
IN CHARACTER NEWSLETTER
I'm still considering an in character newsletter for our characters to advertise IC stuff, put in gossip, and all sorts of other things like Help Wanted, Weather and such. Got any suggestions for the name of our newspaper/newsletter? I haven't decided what day it will be sent, but it's going to be a once a month or possibly twice a month issue. We miiiiiight even open up a new Moderator spot for someone to take care of the newsletter, so if you're interested go ahead and let me know your ideas. If we open a Mod spot for it, it will need to be sent twice a month.
SPRING RECRUITING BONUS
No one likes to start at 0xp, do they? Well, here's what we'll do, any new character (remember, each player is only allowed at the most 7 PC's unless you've been given a freebie) will be allowed to start with 35xp, 2000gp, and 1 Healing Potion (10hp). This allows a person to start at Topaz Adept with a class AND a profession.
If you recruit a new PLAYER (not just a new char from a current player) into OH, you will be given a bonus of 10xp instead of the usual 5xp. And remember, you don't get any xp from "recruiting" yourself!
THE NEXT CLUE
My Tuesday quests are going to have a theme for several weeks, and it's going to be something of a clue game. You will have to figure out WHERE we go next from the clues you gain on the quests or in between, such as in the update.
HINT: They won't leave Sarkotos.
Those who fought the Chess Creatures at the Knifedge Arena won a pouch of gold coins. Each gold coin is exceptionally high quality gold. There is a shield cracked in half on the gold piece, and a raven emblazoned upon the shield. There is elvish writing around the shield on the outer edge of the coin.
This is common knowledge, but to find out anything more you will have to speak to one of the persons that went to Knifedge in-character. Logen, Indrila, Daemian, Sadlin, Torrin, or Adal.

Don't forget the Word of the Week, the same one is up now until someone uses it! It's XP you can earn once a week just within your normal roleplay! Check the message board. Use it. Send it in.

--1. NEW KINGDOM
The Kingdom of Shalott's information has been added to the Gazetteer. As far as roleplay goes, it was there all along but I had an idea and saw that the Atoll of Shalott and Deepreef Island were just kinda floundering out alone and had an idea they could be like an Ireland type country so....there we go. Shalott was born, ruled by the Bronze Court. The royals have bronze dragon in their ancestry.
--2. DRUID COMPANION
If you are a Druid and have Animal Companion, you are allowed to choose 3 skills free for your companion instead of the usual one skill allowed.
Extra Credit: You may use the web site for this to find the answer. Get it right? I'll give you 2XP.
