When thinking about the countries, here's a good guide of what sort of "feel' our roleplay country has, this is not exact it's just the "feel" of the place:
Sarkotos - England
Zyon - Greece
Bryony - French-Italian with a hint of Turkish landscape
Kullyr - Sweden
Kyngfeld - Scotland
Madder - French / Louisiana Bayou
Rumeria - Netherlands/Russian
Skegg Islands - Faroe Islands
Alzorc - Viking influence
Anoi' Pua Islands - Pacific Islands
Doxenia - Germany
Avilon -
Thanes - Arabic/Egyptian
Rayyan - African Grasslands
Shalott - Ireland
Kir'viir - Elven!
SARKOTOS
Just your usual kingdom type land, with mining, farming, big cities, small villages, forests and everything in between.
Dwarves live beneath the Ridgebacks.
ZYON
Zyon is not a kingdom, it is ruled by the citizens. It is an expansive area though, with inland forests, coastline, even a few small mountains.
BRYONY
Bryony is a mageocracy and ruled by a group of powerful mages. There are mage and bardic schools in Bryony and very focused upon the arcane, whether evil, neutral or good.
Dwarves live beneath the Ridgebacks.
KULLYR
Harsh, cold, but not near as patriotic and insular as Alzorc. It's a northern, rocky, seaside country.
Dwarves can easily be from the dwarven cities beneath the rocks in Kullyr.
KYNGFELD
A lot of feykin, and those types of creatures are from the Faerie Forest in Kyngfeld.
MADDER
Madder is a southern swamp/marsh area. It is ruled by a Serpent-King and you are forced to worship the Serpent-King as well as any other deity you worship. It has a large number of the more evil aligned creatures and characters that come from here, as well as pirates and swashbucklers, and rogues.
RUMERIA
This is one of our Northern countries, steppes, tundra, mountains. Very cold, and the majority of peoples are tribal. Horses are very important in this land.
Dwarves can be from Rumeria, mostly beneath the Knockskulls, and the Frigid Bluffs. Glacen has a good population of dwarves, located in the Bluffs.
SKEGG ISLANDS
The Skegg Islands are very off on their own, and because the sea is so utterly freezing and tumultous there aren't a ton of Skeggans on the mainland. If they are, they are probably sailors of some sort or another. It is more along the lines of Vikings, but not quite as much as Alzorc.
ALZORC
If we have vikings in our game, they'd be from here. It is very Norse oriented, and very, very insular. Zorcans fight, love, grow, die, and live mainly in Alzorc. There are very few reasons a Zorcan would leave Alzorc, they may leave if they were running from some sort of wrongdoing. It is rare for a Zorcan to truly respect anyone outside of Alzorc, but it has and can happen. Everyone outside of Alzorc are called "sveks" which is very derogatory. Zorcans are extremely combat based, male or female.
ANOI' PUA ISLANDS
This kingdom is a large chain of numerous sub-tropical volcanic islands and atolls in the Thunder Sea ruled by tribal clans. The tribal clans often fight over the resources of this unspoiled paradise. One of the main islands has opened to commerce with the other kingdoms to allow the trading of it's pearls and tropical fruits and spices. As a whole, the native peoples like keeping their islands pristine and without the touch of what most call 'civilization'.
DOXENIA
This kingdom is expansive, and they are interested in getting even larger. Knights are important here, and it is a civilized land.
AVILON ISLANDS
An island of forests, sailors, farmers and shipbuilders, Avilon was taken by Doxenia about 25 years ago.
THANES
If you want to play a desert character, then they'd be from the Thanes Desert. This is the type of desert covered in sand dunes, an arabian feel.
THE FINGER
This is a stretch of grassy land and plains between Thanes and Kir'viir. There are a handful of civilized cities including an underwater elven city but mostly it's rolling grasslands and plains like the African Savannah.
SHALOTT ISLANDS
This place has an irish feel to it, both in how the people act as well as the land itself. The main thing about Shalott though is that many dragonborn are from here. The royal family is dragonborn.
KIR'VIIR
This is our main elven land. There are pockets of various elves in other lands, but this is the main elven homeland.
Ghost elves live in the Ituri Forest, this is the ONLY known ghost elven town in the known world.
