Kythin: The Lows were not Kythin's favorite part of the city, in fact it was right up there with the section of sewer that the Tenebrae Cult once made used as some of his hated destinations in all of Sarkotos. Yet here he was after escaping the less than talented efforts of one of the Cult's few unarmed combat trained brutes, wandering the Lows closer to places where he knew his Gypsy quarry likely to hang out. Eventually he found himself failing to locate that one Gypsy yet wound up in the company of a couple of
others.. both sporting an Azure Butterfly somewhere on them.. wasn't difficult for the Dragonkin to recognize a Gypsy when he saw one. In the end he eluded advances of their services.. yet somehow wound up partaking of a card game with them. How the hell did he wind up in a card game with gypsys in the iddle of the Lows!? " ... I'll hand it to you, Curva, I know this game is fixed but I cannot for the life of me figure out how.. good on you. " What had become of him, bah! Complimenting Gypsies, he blamed Vi for this travesty.-d
Vi: Violeta made it part of her repetoire to be nearly untraceable. When she did not want to be found, there were few that could actually do well in going against her wishes. In the days since the trip to the islands and even past a trip to Doxenia, the vibrant swashbuckler actually wanted a bit of time out of the limelight. Her reasons were hers alone, of course. On this particular day, with the weather having warmed a few degrees and the snow subsiding, Vi took to a walk through the lows. A new pair of falchions were fixed in line with either hip, their pommels and hilts speaking of gypsy craftsmanship, right down to the bells running about each hilt. Attire was much the same as well: black cotton, tight-fitting leggings, black leather boots up to mid-thighs, grommeted half corset and ornately, red embroidered and black velvet coat over top of that. The only difference today was the vibrant purple shirt she wore, frilled softly in its plunging cut in the front and upon the ends of each sleeve. The springy, red-black curls atop her head were just as twisted as ever. When it came that her walk revealed the sight of the dragon across from gypsy kin, she couldn't help a smirk. Kythin was becoming something of a sympathizer! Walking her way towards the small group, in a placing that had the dragon facing away from her approach, she simply observed from behind--all the way through to his words being spoke. A compliment for a gypsy. If the orange-spice scent wafting around them didn't give her away, the amused small little snort would. -d-
Kythin: Mostly Kythin was busy trying his damnedest to succede in besting the , literal, gyspy whore - since unbeknowst to him the name she'd givne him was the Gypsy word for Prostitute. Clearly Kythin was a bloody git when it came to the tongue! Alas in the end the Dragon lose and admist his draconic grumbling, and the scent of orange-spice and the amused snort handed over a small leather pouch to 'Curva'. " Been there long, Igna'hi? " Said Ky to the amused Violeta he knew to be behind him, somewhere.. not above making use of the deific name the Priest from the isles had thought her to be due to his actions. Back to the two gypsy women he gave a fierce sort of smile. " Another time ladies, I'm afraid that friend I was looking for has finally shown up. " Excusing himself from the table he stood and wound up turning towards Vi, she'd easily note he no longer wore the crimson garb he'd become rather known for.. instead he looked like any other commoner, one who had seen an unforunate fiery trial at that! -d
Vi: So there was a bit of a roll to her eyes at being called Igna'hi.. but that might have hinged on the fact that she still had nightmares about jumping in to a river of lava! Who wouldn't? Moving on with a lacing of a smirk, cinnamon brown eyes watched the exchange and ended up rising that small bit to Kythin's face once he'd rose and turned around. The word 'friend' had not been missed, though unlike Vi--she did not employ a snarky comment to go along with that or to deter the notion... odd as it may have been. Staring at him a moment, with one eye narrowing as if she were trying to figure something out, Violeta huffed a small breath and turned. Her head jerked on its neck as if to invite him along with. "Why were you looking for me?" If he was going to rub in the fact that he saved her, this might not go in his favor! It was easy to say she assumed that's what he'd do. -d-
Kythin: She was of course free to assume whatever the bloody hell she liked, Kythin was not as one-dimensional as he put himself out to be. It was something that Aaron Hexenthal had realized just enough to give the offer that he had.. Kythin's own ambitious nature notwithstanding. Under Vi's stare, she'd find him crossing his arms over his chest as the Dragonkin shook his head just a bit. " You experienced something worse than I did Vi, it leaves its marks on the mind. " He was of course referring to his fall into magma and her mind-controlled leap into lava. " Believe it or not I was worried.. " Couldn't very well retrieve his stolen victories if she was a woman with a broken mind now could he? -d
Vi: Vi usually did assume whatever the hell she liked--so that'd indeed happen. Rarely did her assumption go astray, at least before, but recent happenings had taught the gypsy a lesson or three. In this instance, a sympathizing dragon was NOT foreseen. The Kythin she knew before might well have tried to spin the rescuing from the lava in to something of an I.O.U.. but now, it didn't seem to be the case at all. After he said what he did, she gave another small huff through her nose and turned to start walking.. but that didn't mean she was done conversing with him. Having crossed her own arms (albeit loosely and at hip level), she took a few moments to sort her thoughts. "Well.. if you hadn't done what you did, my mind would be the very last thing to worry about. No point in doing so now. I am out of it and well off enough."It wasn't exactly a thank you, not in words--but it was at least recognition. "... and you have been recovering well?" -d-
Kythin: An identity was no good if it did not evolve and grow with experience, Kythin knew this.. though this was likely colored a fair deal by his own attempts as -trying- to reclaim something he'd not experienced since before learning about were-crocs. While he did want to demand that she owed him, he'd come to be aware enough of how she was to know if she felt the need she would.. if she didn't to the hells with him. When she started to walk off, she'd no doubt note his steps falling into line though keeping him self at a distance of at least a couple of feet from her. " I'd be better if I could get the damnable kit's makeup to look passable in covering up my face.. " Murmured the dragonkin in a hushed growl. " I'll live. " Unfortunately for them, least in how she and others had considered him during the Dunsany incidents. -d
Vi: Weaving a questionable identity over a questionable alignment had to be difficult.. not that Vi knew anything of that. To her? Kythin was a big ball of confusing. Having gone from better-than-you attitude to something else (whatever this was now), from someone that called her gypsy, to Violeta to Vi.. to saving what he seemed to think before as her worthless, theiving life.. well--of course the changes brought skepticism. It really hadn't been that long between then and now, either. Knowing him to be walking in that near proximity, she kept her words light in volume, enough for just him to hear. "It doesn't look too bad." She frowned, though kept her face forward. "... and it is good you'll live. Especially if you keep on with this path. You're not so pompey like this." Smirk. -d-
Kythin: No one was more confused over what the hell he thought he was doing than himself. Kyhin was confused, primarily on the path to take.. recent events were wearing away at his faith in The Shadow That Was. He lacked the support of the cult as well, leaving nothing to confirm in his deific doubts. This of course was not a subject he would ever discuss with Violeta. She'd already proven her dislike of the faithful. " I'm not stupid Vi, I know how I look. Doesn't matter, just a little closer to matching the inside... hmph. Time will tell if it'll just be a change of place.. " Meaning if the inside would come to be as 'attractive' as the outside use to be. -d
Vi: Faithful sorts were simply sheep lead to slaughter for the highest-ranked self crafted cause. Fuck all that. They were all single-thought ninnies! This of course was not part of her thought process in this particular exchange, even if she knew Kythin to be a follower of something. What? She didn't know.. nor did she care. Social interaction with the dragon had been difficult from day one, though it seemed to have eased a small degree. Case in point.. she hadn't fileted him with words or blades as of yet! "You are stupid if you think it's truly terrible. It's not. Scars on a warrior never are." She quieted then. "If you are concerned of it, why not see the healer, Evangeline? Maybe she can lighten the damage." It was a thought, anyways. As far as the change of place, she'd not comment on that so much. She didn't need too, since Kythin was making the revelations of his own thoughts pretty clear. There were changes about. Vi would respect him enough to let him figure them out without her input. -d-
Kythin: Kythin let a smirk come into place at her words, she didn't understand the mindset that came with a draconic heritage. Of this he could not fault her, it took a dragon to know a dragon.. unless that Dragon was Gar Thog, that was a living insult to all dragonblooded.. " If I thought them bad enough I could deal with them myself, I could regrow a damn arm if I had to.. " The problem came in with his failing faith, why call on a deity that continued to fail him when he could just rely on his own power .. focus on an ideal like his father had.. his father's had been Righteousness... and it had got him killed, or was that stupidity? He couldn't quite be sure. Still he walked along with Violeta. " The bard's woman? I have doubts such a request would go over well with the bard, Vi. " If she had forgotten Girard to had felt the pain of his assualt at Aaron's vampiric domination.. alongside Logen. " I haven't the damnedest idea what I'm doing anymore, Vi. " -d
Vi: No, she did not understand the dragonblooded, and likely never would. But was it really a people's way of being--or just the way of each individual mind? Was Kythin taught to be a certain way? That's the fucked-up quality of devout paths.. everyone has to fit their way in to the cookie cutter mold, no matter how much of the rest of them it cut off about the edges. He could heal himself? Well that go a quirk of her brow. "Well then will your shit to fix itself and stop fucking with whatever kit you talked about." She'd turn her head to look at him wondering why the hell he hadn't done that by now. "And yes, Girard's woman. I doubt Girard would stand in your way, he does not seem the type to keep someone else from doing what they do. I have heard good things of Evangeline." She hadn't forgotten Dunsany and all that went on, but remembered just as well how Girard stood up for Kythin. "Girard was not so quick to villianize you as the others. Give him more credit than that." Nodding once, she looked back out infront of them. "... and you should do what feels right to you. All teachings, and fucking influences aside." -d-
Kythin: " I'm not as keen as I was once to rely on a God for such things. " Came Kythin's answer.. and not a surprising one considering the instances where he'd healed through by way of praying to that deity of his.. a crumbling faith likely wouldn't even allow him to draw on the energy needed as it was! No, he was on his own as far as he was concerned.. " And I've seen what bard can do, I am in no hurry to experience it should he have taken offense to my ploy. Bad enough we've not seen the last of the Hexenthal." At the idea of Girard villianizing him.. he found that laughable, the people of Kullyr could do that well enough all on their own.. who knew how quickly that news would spread to Sarkotos. At Vi's last bit of advice, he leveled a grin at her. " Isn't following such advice taking your influence? " Chaotic little whirlwind that she was .. it sounded like something she followed herself. " And Vi.. " His eyes finally narrowed on her. " Never slap me again, I'll not be needing that lesson a second time. " Apparently he hadn't forgotten her actions outside the Inne that one night. " That said.. I do appreciate that lesson then.. and your help in the temple. Like it or not you've earned my loyalty if not as a friend than simply out of respect. " -d
Vi: She'd simply nod at his talk of falling away from his God. Violeta did not know what that was like, so there was little to say to that. That's not to let off that she felt it good for him to stand on his own two feet in lieu of praying to a deity for his blessings. Fuck that. "And if you're that worried of Girard.. well, he'll be off and away for a few days here, soon. Stop in at the cottage and Pincer and let Eva decide for herself if she wants to help you." It should be her decision, anyways! She quieted a little, but smiled and laughed a slight bit as he mentioned of following her influence. That and the comment on her slapping him, it won a quip back.. "Well, I am a goddess now, no?" Igna'hi! "So I can slap you if I damned well wish and then you can pray for my forgiveness." A momentary smirk broke into another soft snicker. Then he went all serious.. hmph. "... you're not so bad yourself, Dragon." She nodded the notion back his way. Friends? Maybe so. -d-
Kythin: He couldn't quite bite back the laugh that the notion of stopping in on Evangeline brought up. Still he needed all the allies, if not friends, that he could get.. it seemed he had a small knack for improving relations with those he'd wronged surprisingly quickly. Mira and Vi, even Logen proved as much if only due to the actions they saw him commit to for their sakes or for those they cared for in any fashion. " I may do that.. " The quip she threw back earned another laugh from the Dragon. " A Goddess that owes her acension to me, I'm afraid that moots it Vi and we owe each other nothing on the matter. I'm afraid its a clean slate.” Still she was definitely a one who earned exactly what he said she did.. forunately his seriousness did not remain. " I need a drink, you know any place around here thats not a complete hole? " -d
Vi: "You forget the part where I've beat you in.... how many spars was it?" She'd grin his way... "... and this, the Lows.. IS the complete hole, Kythin." So everything inside it was pretty much the same. "Greenlord's not far. At least yeh can get a drink at a nice brothel there." Heh. -d-
