(Apologies if it looks terrible, I just pasted the log, am too tired to make it prettier right now!)
Ashton Locke: As usual, Ash had grown just a bit bored from all the sitting around he did lately. What was a Thief to do if no jobs were being contracted for him? Why, how about find a job on his own? Sounded like a good idea for him. He didn't
Ashton Locke: want to do anything too fancy, of course, so he opted for
getting some basic magical items that could be helpful on adventures if
anyone wanted them! Simple blood charms, but they could very well keep
someone alive. So, back home he
Ashton Locke: went. He planned on using stealth to accomplish his goal this
time around, so he couldn't very well bring a bunch of crazy magic people
with him. That would draw far too much attention. He also left his sword at
the inne. Dagger and
Ashton Locke: armor he kept, since even if he didn't plan on a fight didn't
mean it wasn't a good idea to prepare for one! He had his cloak as well, but
kept his hood down, so as to more properly blend in with the crowd in his
hometown, and made
Ashton Locke: his way to where he knew such items were sold...or more
appropriately, tried to remember where they were sold to the local city
guards. (knowledge: local, +5)
OnlineHost: Ashton Locke rolled 1 20-sided die: 10
Ashton Locke: Yep yep, he remembered exactly the shop he was looking for! So
he camped out there a while, waiting for the guard courier to show up. Since
these charms weren't particularly expensive, he knew the courier wouldn't be
under heavy
Ashton Locke: guard, and he was correct! In fact the courier himself seemed
to be his own guard. Perfect. He followed the man into the shop after letting
him sit in there for a moment, and busied himself with eyeing some of the
other charms and
Ashton Locke: items while eavesdropping to try and figure out if the courier
was picking up the specific charms he wanted. (Listen check dc15, +5 alert
skill)
OnlineHost: Ashton Locke rolled 1 20-sided die: 8
Ashton Locke: But..sadly the shop was a bit too noisy for him to make it
out, so he moved himself a bit closer to try and get a look instead, hoping
he didn't draw too much attention to himself. The courier did glance over and
give the Thief a
Ashton Locke: questioning look, but all Ash needed to do to disarm his
suspicions was offer a smile and a nod, and then go back to what he was
doing. Or so Ash hoped, anyway. Well he couldn't imagine what else the
courier was here to get, so he
Ashton Locke: decided this man was his target even if he wasn't sure about
the contents of the sack he was given. Shortly after the man paid the
shopkeeper and slipped out, Ash followed along quietly. Now came the fun
part! Following the man
Ashton Locke: without being noticed, but getting close enough to steal some
stuff from him before he got back to the guard barracks. Finally he had a
chance to close in when the courier/guard cut through an alley! He moved in
to try and get his
Ashton Locke: goodies. (Ash roll stealth, guard roll listen or spot. Ash
gets +3 Thief bonus, guard gets +5 alert bonus)

Ashton Locke: So, Ash had closed in successfully...now he just had to
actually get the items out of the sack without the guard noticing, making use
of his dagger to slit it open. Luckily the guard had the sack over his
shoulder so it was behind
Ashton Locke: him! It'd still be tough, and he'd have to work quickly..not
to mention not taking everything, so it'd be less noticeable. (Stealth, +3.
Guard listen, +5)

the sack before stopping before the man noticed. (steals 1d5 blood charms)
OnlineHost: Ashton Locke rolled 1 5-sided die: 4
Ashton Locke: Those blood charms he'd snagged were tucked into his pockets
of his cloak, and then he quickly turned and started walking back the way he
came, at a brisk but not highly noticeable pace! Once he got away, it was
back to the Inne to
Ashton Locke: find Ankar and deliver the new goods.
