Words that could not be further from the truth. A Half-Blood Dragon from the Swamps of Madder that came to devote himself to that country's Serpent-King. This betrayal of his full-blooded kin came in defiance of their preconception. Never as wild as the true children of the swamps, as soon as he could leave both his wretched human mother and her swamp-bound kin he made for the civilized cities of his homeland.
Both a blessing and mistake the then unnamed man came under the immediate notice of both the people of Madder who looked upon the strange-looking scaled behemoth with fear and the disciples of the Serpent-King. The Disciples found an eager recruit in the young half-breed. Eager to see just who this "Serpent-King" these manlings held up on their high pedestal.
He was not Impressed.
He did not need to be impressed with the King when the Disciples proved every bit worth his loyalty in exchange for the education and training they could provide that the swamp never could. While his social skills left much to be desired his mind was sharp, yet it was the physical that came to pit the half-dragon against the first mark his King and God desired captured, whether the order came from the Serpent-King in truth he never knew.
He never told the tale of what occurred when he located his target.
He came away from the unsung tale a scarred man.
He returned with his trophy and a name.
