Of Ramus
There is a Start (section One)
Endless tides of snow drifted along the air on the great surface of land. The air was dry, and their were no fields of green in the colder season. Nothing had changed since there was a start upon this place far to the northern corners of what was known as the world itself.
Eons ago, a man came to the land, when man was nomadic he had no place to go.
Yet, this man decided to stay here, strange ideals, strange magic's, and dreams started to fill his vision. He was the start of the bloodline of the land we now know as Ramus. The man was named Ramuniousious Tormuckkinnkina Devashin.
Here he planted his seed, and studied the land gathering what information he could from it. His first home is located in the Great Cave of Legends on the Eastern shore of the city of Tormuck-Devashin.
It took many long years, but he would learn the seasons of this hard land. He was able grew seeds of food in both animal, and plant form. Yet, this was only during the right times of the year. Both planting, harvesting, and other had to be completed at various times. He built a mighty building, the start of a grand empire that still thrives to this very day. The power of one was strong, and he knew here he could do great things, and he did.
Yet, he was a graying man, by the time this was done, and often traveled outside in search of any other like himself. He found some elves whom taught him the ways of the forest, and passed down tales of other's like the odd man to his ears. He was moved by these tales, but felt too old to travel much anymore. Thus, he went home.
He stayed among the ancient building of Tormuck where he met a younger man named Dean. Dean didn't speak much common tongue, but he found the old man fascinating, and stayed. After Dean, came Shevin. Who came a small tribe called Cormik. These made up the first, and so on and so on.
In the year 203 Ramuniousious Tormuckkinnkina Devashin passed on, and the people decided it was time for a ruler. They knew what Tormuck had passed on, and looked to Gia for aid. She was old enough to know, and presented them with his son. She said that would be " Right" Considering it was his own blood . Thus they agreed.
In the year 203 the first heir was officially made his name was Xerian Tormuckkinnkina Devashin. After him came Sev Tormuckkinnkina Devashin in the year 280, Yavin Tormuckkinnkina Devashin in the year 336. After his death in 336 Quin Tormuckkinnkina Devashin (born in 320) was the first female ruler crowned and was said to have had relations with six mages, thus producing the first heir gifted in the ways of magic. He was born in 345. After her death in 346 Quax Tormuckkinnkina Devashin was the first child ever made to be king. It was said that his own father assassinated his mother, yet the truth of this tale was never solved. His father vanished at the hands of the Golden Lions right before his trial. So many would come and go, yet few had the full record of the bloodline outside the actual palace. It was something kept secret, though freely passed on to the people of the Island of Ramus.
(Section Two)
Over time a government was formed. Many things were tried, some failed, some didn't.
What worked was kept, what didn't work, was thrown out.
There were a few houses made up these were to help the King in making any Joint decision. There were few rules, and the island of Ramus lived in peace.
Even though the nations around it would wager war, and pressure many of its past rulers to do so in there favor, the isolated island of Ramus always managed to state firmly there way of life. Thus, many forgot about them, and left them alone. Yes, there was always something to defend against. The magics of other nations that would perhaps pose a threat would arise, but no actual war was ever declared.
Gold was exchanged with other nations, and for some odd reason the island of Ramus was rich in ore, and oils. Not to mention its fruits were found no place else. Many made wines, and fancy glass to trade. Others were fishermen, some farmers, and some were on the council
Of War
Chaos rocked the other nations, all trade seemed to be on a halt. The people of Ramus were crying out to there ruler, whom at this time was Moistar Delar Tormuckkinnkina Devashin. She ruled with a firm hand, and would not be sucked into a war for no reason. She persuaded the houses to lower there taxes, making cuts where it was needed. Yet, this was not enough, as a ship fleet from the nation of Marimart had come, and taken her captive.
Among there cells she sat, they demanded she surrendered, but she wouldn't. Yet, nor would she watch her people suffer. n the year 796 she took her own life, and prayed that her sister had made it, and would live for the people better than she had.
Yet there was hope, there was light, the Golden Lions stood there ground among the walls of Omenda , and united with another nation won there first victory against Marimart. Sir William Sharmantious, brother to a high lord, lead the legions across what would be known as Dead Mans Echo. For you see, even this day you can hear the voices of all that fell within that canyon. No one won, both sides were sacrificed, and the legions had to retreat. This was the first war, Ramus fought, but they were not broken.
The Age of Now
As time moved, Ramus engaged in a time of peace throughout most of the ages, being such a tiny place far off in the distance. However, Myteria took interest, and their king began treaties with the other nation. A deal was made, but not what it seemed. The Myterian King paid a greater price for what he thought was indeed the greater good. Collecting runes, he would summon a demon he thought he controlled, but in the long end the demon itself would take over both nations. It was a slow transition, and the legion had not seen this outcome occuring as they were busy fighting for a peace that was not to be found. A false peace created by the demon so that he could swallow the souls of the innocent for power.
Most of the Raithmorian population was exterminated, but not all. Even at the price of losing her brother, Devin refused to be one of those as she slowly saw the truth. At the Cliffs of Ra'daul she would release Guy Sharmantious' hand, and in turn be able to escape the demon's prision that had held her for a good five years time. She was not out of her teenage years when another event would challenge her again
Oh how holy the inquisitors were. The right of the right, the seekers of truth, and the hand of the demon to find who truly was devoted to his cause. Upon finding Devin, they took interest as she had actually managed to escape the demon's cells. Keeping the still child woman , they would peel her apart, until her father Darrios Sharmantious found out. He struck an attempt to free his one blood, but it failed at the edge of the Blyth. The sea would swallow what was left, and Devin watched slowly as her father made that last attempt.
Not knowing who she was, or even really what, she kept her stubborn sense of pride as a way to engrave her very strength. A hand of white came one day, and the High Commander Cheviler T'Dravous aided her in her escape. After months she would find he was her real father, a secret kept by her parents in hopes of protecting their family as they had instilled a spy. Never understanding a bond of trust, Devin would travel away, vowing not to return to something that was no long her own.
