(Occurs weeks before the Events outside the Shatter Isle Prison on the 28th of Zumyan's Pyre)
Rare though it was there the Black Knight of Dunsany chose to venture outside of the walls that protected the settlement of Bleakburn and the castle that loomed over it.. his presence within the Red Hospice was not completely uncalled for .. after the events that occurred there. There his former Squire and the Hellborne that would be Magdelana's Inquisitor had unraveled the schemes of the Greymen and their corrupted draconic master. It was exactly that and more that drew Kythin Steelfang into the locale.. himself seated across from the desk of the current Matron left in place after the change caused by his prior visitation.
How long had it been now? Over a year at least.. it'd been not long after locating his errant squire after having sent Lovisa off on her vigil to the accursed chapel where the Vampire King had met his end.
On the opposite side of the desk from where he set was the new Matron of the Red Hospice .. chosen after the events that saw Cosima carted off for her crimes. He remembered the name of the woman that had provided the most aid during the events that had transpired there. She would understand most of all the necessity of his presence now. There were larger concerns than the difficulties that seemed to arise in his wake.
" Matron Rhianwen, you have acclimated yourself to your new postion from the looks of it. "
While his expression was not unkind.. even the neutrality of it seem.. fierce, intense.. all the more when a sheathed, silk-wrapped specimen of long, curved blade sat upon his lap. As inevitably as could be expected the weapon loss its place there to be placed atop the Matron's desk.
" You will execute my will in a matter of great importance. "
He began to speak his piece even as his eyes watched for cues of understanding beneath whichever mask the woman might put forth to keep the fear of him at bay. That he found it necessary to wonder if this slip of a woman would carry out his will. Would she see the necessity of it against what was to come after? That the Black Knight was planning for a future without his frightful presence to ward off the Grey? Kythin saw that he could gain no insight beyond what might be borne of fear, fear of him, or fear of what was to come.
" Soon enough I will have met my end and You will keep this in your care until Davkul Twice-Damned comes unknowingly to claim it. He will not know of its existence nor why it might be left in your care. "
A pause; his eyes searching hers for acknowledgement or skepticism of his reasons for this undertaking. There might well be the chance she would believe him setting the Paladin up for corruption.. a possibility that would not be beyond the scope of the Black Knight rumors cast such fell darkness upon. It was this risk that he chose Rhianwen rather than Lovisa for this duty. While the Red Knight of Dunsany would have been the best choice for assuring the holy blade reached Davkul.. it would not have a bit of challenge to it.. of something that would test the Hellborne in even the slightest way. It would only have changed hands.. and while he sought the destruction of the Greymen and the Corrupted Great Wyrm that pulled their strings.. they all needed to be ready for what was to come.. coddling the Inquisitor would do nothing for that goal.
