Raziel Ineztrix is a paradox. The reality in which he believes he lives is not the truth. You see, as a young man he set out on a journey. He thought he was simply making his way towards the sprawling capital city of Sarkotos, where he thought he would find his true potential. Little did he know that upon arriving at Navahla he had all ready reached this point. And that he was all ready a master of all things Time related.
But that was the funny thing about Time. When you began to play with it, it seemed to do funny things. It seemed to change and warp at the whims of an individuals consciousness. For one person minutes seem like years, and to another, and hour could go by in the blink of an eye. And, one could say, when something is forgotten it is actually Time, erasing itself, and with it the memories held therein.
Perhaps it was one of these, or perhaps...Time itself was bitter of his total mastery of the subject. But one thing was for sure. When Raziel reached his destination his trip seemed nothing more then that. With a cloudy haze that smoothed over the experiences of his journey, Time had erased the knowledge from his mind, and delivered the Psion unto Navahla like a newborn child from its mother.
Time had played a cruel joke on him. Denying him the power he had all ready once come to claim. Depriving him of a life well lived. But that was the other thing about Time. Nothing was a given. Even changes changed. And once you started down a path that mettled in Times flow, it never left you the same. Where once he could swim the river of Time like a dolphin in the sea, Raziel was now left to treat its tumultuous waters once again.
And where does this leave the lion tailed prodigy of his lycan tribe? Right back at the beginning. How, might you ask, does this make him a paradox? Well, perhaps it doesn't. After all, every one of us tends to look to the past for knowledge. But, how many of us can actually experience it? How many of us need to relive something, in order to fully understand its lessons?
This is what made Raziel Ineztrix a paradox. To gain the knowledge of Time for the first time, he needed to use his knowledge of Time to go back and learn it a second time. Did you get that? Neither did I. But this leaves a funny conundrum. (There goes Time doing funny things again.)
The life Raziel leads now, it seems, is unlike anyone else's. With no one else would the events in the present effect the events in the past. But this all hinged on one thing. Raziel would need to get a grasp of Time in the present, before he could wring its neck in the past and claim what is rightfully his.
The title of Chronokinetic master over the most mysterious and unknown of elements.
Time.
