How To Submit For Pay
It's very simple to submit a RPL/PSL for pay and you don't need any special training to do any of these activities. You simply use the following format below filling in the applicable blocks and send it to the Storyline Mod (Currently xlwolfsbane@aol.com)
*Do not argue over what XP you are given. The Storyline Mod takes various things into account when XP is given, and XP is given very generously in this game, so we will not tolerate arguing over XP for logs.*
A log MUST BE at least an hour long to be counted for ANYTHING. Do not send in logs that do not last at least an hour of roleplay.
Type of Event: (RPL/PSL)
Name of Event: (RPL/PSL)
Players Involved:
If certain players came in late, or left early, state how long they were there.
Duration:
Small Summary:
-Attach the link to the MB post, or the log itself to the email. MUST have one or the other, no log is no payment.-
Note About Timestamps
Timestamping every hour makes it easier to gauge time spent on a log, especially if you need to splice it based on different game changing experiences over multiple rp sessions, and if there's a lot of coming and goings with a public rpl such as the OH Inne.
Payment Scale
This is the complete scale for payments involving all RPL and PSL submissions within the OH game. With payments that have a scale, it is the Mod's prerogative as to what you earn for your submission. There is much to take into consideration, and it is not always completely based on word count.
Roleplay Logs (RPL)
Participant: 1-10 XP.
Basic Hourly: 1.5 to 2XP per Hour
Experience caps out on a Log by Log basis for RPLs.
10 being the maximum a player can earn for a RPL. RPL's can be anything, as long as you are being active in OH, you can send in a log to be counted as a RPL and earn up to 10XP. These are logs of just general roleplay such as sitting around in the tavern, chatting and getting to know other characters, just your basic and normal roleplay. Only send in logs if your roleplay lasts at least 1 hour. The basic breakdown is around 1.5 to 2XP per hour, though Mod reserves the right to give less if the logs are short, usually representative of slow posting or afks and breaks.
ONLY 1 PERSON SHOULD SEND IN THE LOG, if the Storyline Mod gets multiple parts of the same log it will be ignored.
Personal Storyline (PSL)
Participant: 5-12 XP.
Basic Hourly: 2.5 to 3XP per Hour
Experience caps out on the Game Changing experience for PSLs.
If one scene spans multiple logs, they count as one game changing experience and are capped as one log. If there are two scenes e.g adventurers bed down for the night after an ordeal and carry on into the next day, that counts as two logs and can be submitted separately under different caps. This can also be done for message board play not just room play.
12 being the maximum a player can earn for a PSL and the SL must be game changing for the characters involved. There must be character development shown, or development for any certain storyline going on in the group at the time. You must state at the top of your log exactly what character development occurred in the log, if you do not point out exactly what makes this a game changing storyline it will be considered a RPL. Only send in logs if your roleplay lasts at least 1 hour. The basic breakdown is around 2.5 to 3XP per hour, though Mod reserves the right to give less if logs look short, usually representative of prolonged afk's or slow posting.
Solo Stories (Only Player was YOU)
Payment: 4-8 XP, up to 500gp, mundane loot of no more than 2,000gp worth.
These are normally written up on the message board, but in some cases some players choose to do these in chats and roll dice. You can also roll dice on the message board if desired, but you are more than welcome to simply write these out as stories about your character. Storyline Mod takes into account word count, as well as how well you told your story to determine payout. Max 8XP given for very long and intricate solo stories.
Circumstances That Effect Payments
Partial/Docked Payments: Not being present or participating throughout the entire event, will lead to docked pay. This could mean numerous and frequent 'afk', it could mean lingering at the back of the pack and posting as little as possible, or it could be a late entrance or early release. It is simple, full participation equates to full pay. Partial participation equates to partial pay. You either have the time for the event or you don't. We understand that life does happen, and life ALWAYS comes first. We also understand fairness and that a person that was only partially there or only partially committed to it will not be paid the same as a person that endeavored the whole event.
Falling Short Of The Mark: Everyone roleplays differently, everyone types at different speeds, these are facts that are crystal clear within the online RP community. Yet in a set amount of time, one can generally see a pattern in the length of certain events. If your submission seems to appear shorter or more cut than it should be for that type of event, the payment given may be slightly less.
Rebuttal: Should you question or disagree with a payment made, you are allowed a rebuttal to the Storyline Mod. It is your chance to explain why it should not be the way it is. After hearing and thinking over your rebuttal, the Moderator will make the final statement. And that's where it ends. No more back and forth. No more arguing. That's it.
Message Board RP: MB posts will be 0.003 experience per word count so long as the quality of the writing remains well done. If it's constantly filled with exuberantly utilized vernacular originating superfluous lexicon of constant repetition reflecting the same action as simply wiping one's nose or just bad writing, that ratio will drop. Or if it's better quality, that increment will increase.
Extremely Long Storylines: There are some storylines that have a lot put into them and can go on for long periods of time encompassing several scenes to finish, or it could just be that so much needed to be written to complete it. If you submit the entire thing as one log then it has to abide by the XP cap. However if there are natural breaks in the storyline where you move from one scene to another, you are allowed to submit multiple parts of the same storyline where each section then has its own individual cap. This includes roleplay done on the Message Board or in chat.
