These rules are limited to Board Only RP Adventures and should be applied to any Board Adventures posted in this section. Their design is one that puts an emphasis on RP and writing while also allowing for dice to still decide the outcome based on the situation and the PCs and NPCS involved. Though not required, if you are able, adding a visual aid by having a map with specific areas and objectives that is updated throughout the adventure to show progress could be very helpful and enticing.
Note: As with any new set of rules these may be modified and expanded upon as they are used so please be patient in the event questions present themselves.

**Rule Clarifications & Additions**
Below you find various clarifications and additional information that go hand in hand with the rules above. They are in no particular order and will be posted as questions are asked or the need for clarifications/additions are found.
Disclaimer: The Bonuses and Penalties of #3 put the outcome of the post in the hands of the player in that the player knows the amount they need to guarantee a "successful" attack. So the type of attack, the number of NPCs that need to be taken out for the objective, the amount of time the player has to write the post, etc., will all determine how much effort they want to put into the post. So if a player only has a short amount of time to post then they may opt for an easier objective (rank difference in their favor) and to only attack one NPC so they won't have to type as much to guarantee victory. Or they may not care about the guarantee and want the risk involved so they can make the situation harder for their character without typing as much to offset the penalties. Or maybe they are in the mood to write and can pump out a long enough post that allows their PC to attack all five of the NPCs for that objective and still guarantee victory with the RP Bonuses.

Rules
- For Board Adventures following these rules an overall situation will be described with various locations that will each have an objective, which can consist of various elements but is currently focused to be combat related tasks. IE: Kill five lvl 3 mobs to overtake position 1 on the map. One massive objective is also acceptable, such as taking on a small army that requires 30 mobs to be killed for it to succeed.
- The Mobs, or NPCs, will have 1 to 8 Monster Ranks to match the current number of PC Gemstone Ranks
- The outcome of the attempt on the objective NPCs will be 1D20 Difficulty Check (Basic Mobs will have a 15 DC, Objective Bosses: 20 DC, Area Bosses: 25 DC, and Adventure Bosses: 30 DC) based with the following bonuses and penalties being applied. Regardless of the number of NPCs included in the attack only one Difficulty Check is rolled. Be sure to include all of your character's Rank, Bonus and Penalty information in detail at the end of each post.
- PC Trait Bonus: PCs will add either quickness, intelligence, or strength depending on their chosen skills/play style.
- Rank Difference Bonus: For every positive rank difference between the PC and NPC the PC will gain a +1 bonus. So a Sapphire (rank 4) vs a Rank 2 NPC would get +2.
- Rank Difference Penalty: For every negative rank difference between the PC and NPC the PC will receive a -1 penalty. So a Topaz (rank 2) vs a Rank 4 NPC would get -2.
- Number of NPCs: For every additional NPC beyond 1 attacked in the same "post" the PC will receive a -5 penalty + (a -1 penalty x the negative rank difference). So a Sapphire (rank 4) vs two Rank 2 NPCs would get +2 for the first NPC, and then -5 for the second NPC. A Topaz (rank 2) vs two Rank 4 NPC would get -2 for the first NPC, and then -7 (the -5 for the second NPC and then -2 for the negative two ranks).
- Amount of RP Bonus: For every 50 words the PC gets a +1 bonus.
- After the DC Roll and after the bonuses and penalties are applied, if the DC needed isn't met,
then the attack is considered unsuccessful and a totally new one needs to be posted. If the DC needed is met then the attack is considered successful and the mobs are dead. Depending on the DM and the Adventure itself Bosses (all three) may require more than one successful attack to take down. Those details need to be included in the information provided during #1 above. - Criticals (Failures and Strikes) are not counted.
- Once all of the Adventure's objectives have been completed the DM running it will submit it for Mission or Quest EXP depending on the situation.
**Rule Clarifications & Additions**
Below you find various clarifications and additional information that go hand in hand with the rules above. They are in no particular order and will be posted as questions are asked or the need for clarifications/additions are found.
- Added 10/21/15: Objectives don't have to be done in the order in which they are listed/shown. However, if there is an objective that is "in front of" or "comes before" another the one in front must be completed first.
- Added 10/21/15: Unless otherwise stated the mobs in a particular objective will take a lowest level to highest level stance when "facing" the PCs. Meaning if there are two Rank 2 Monsters and one Rank 3 Monster the two Rank 2 Monsters will need to be attacked and defeated before moving on to the one Rank 3.
- Added 10/21/15: In clarifying #3, not all of the mobs in a particular Objective need to be attacked at once. It is up to the player in how many mobs are being attacked in their particular post. Multiple PCs, from different players, are allowed to take on the same Objective if there are multiple mobs or if the single mob requires more than one successful attack (See Next Item).
- Added 10/21/15: The DM, whether by way of text on their Adventure post, by way of an image on their Adventure post, or both, must regularly update what NPCs have been defeated in a particular Objective. In the event players are posting shortly after one another and the DM hasn't had time to update the Adventure the players are asked to read over the previous posts to make sure they aren't attacking an already defeated NPC.
- Added 10/21/15: In clarifying #4, specifically the last part that is in bold, an exceptionally strong or large NPC may require several "successful attacks" to take down. A successful attack is described as "If the DC needed is met then the attack is considered successful" in regard to the player's post. This means it may take several successful attacks (whether from the same PC or multiple PCs it doesn't matter) in order to kill the NPC.
