The Wandering Tournament of Arith. Held at random times throughout the year, but always in a different location, the Wandering Tournament is an opportunity for fame, glory and riches. There will be winners and their will be losers but no matter what there will be enjoyment, coin and fun for those participating and those sitting in the stands.
*Unique Wandering Tournament Rules found below.
Playwright Competition Rules Due to the limited number of Bards in OH at this time NPCs can be used. The NPC must be played by a separate player and must use the same rank dice or higher as the PC. Crystal & Topaz uses 1d5 Amber & Sapphire uses 1d10 Emerald and Ruby uses 1d15 Obsidian uses 1d20 Character must have the Bard Profession to take part in Playwright Competitions. Each Playwright Competition is five verses/parts with the participants using the dice assigned to them from their rank (see above). Each Bard will read or act their creative works before an audience with the audience reaction gauged by the dice roll. The one who achieves the highest score (best reaction) at the end (5 verses/parts) will be declared the winner of that competition. Steps: 1. State your name, and Dice Rank to be assigned bard dice. 2. Roll initiative, 1d20 + Quickness to determine who goes first. 3. First person makes their roleplay the telling or acting, then rolls their bard dice. For instance, you roll 1d5 and get 4. The next person does the same as the previous. 5. Continue on for Five Rounds. 6. Whoever has the highest score at the end wins. Send your Bard Shows to badgersrage for credit. Same exp will be earned as Arcane Duels. Competitive Healing Rules For Competitive Healing follow the same rules as the Playwright Competitions with a few notable differences. Instead of performing on an enchanted item the Healers will be healing NPCs (or even PCs if they want) that have been injured from participating in the tournament. The dice rolls will be used to determine how much the NPC or PC is healed in that particular round. Multiple NPCs can be used for roleplaying effect if desired. The Healer that heals the most at the end of the five rounds is declared the winner. Characters must have the ability to heal other characters (Healing Affinity, Healer Profession, Etc.) to participate in Tournament Healing. Send your Healing to badgersrage for credit. Same exp will be earned as Arcane Duels. The above Playwright Competitions and Competitive Healing will be counted toward your OH Bard and Healing Ribbons totals. Rank BAM Event Rules "This is the first time these rules are being used so your patience is appreciated in the event of a snag." That was present when the initial rules were posted. It turned out, unfortunately, to be true. Please see the bullet points below for the changes and clarifications that had to be made.
Rank BAMs are based on the potential score of their most devastating attack. There will be a BAM for each Gemstone Rank to keep things fair. To determine your attack the target (a magical meter that reads attack) will have the following settings: 100% Health, No Weaknesses (Racial such as to fire or ice, etc.), and will not counter, evade, or reflect attacks. Poisons, Engineering, Specialized Ammunition, etc., can be used in addition to Combat Maneuvers, Regged Spells, and Skills so long as they don't have specific limitations such as "Only Works on Undead" and they can be used with your attack (IE: To use poison with a magical attack a non-regged attack using an specifically enchanted Evocation/Invocation is required). Unregged Magical attacks are allowed to be used in place of a regged spell attack. What does "Potential Score" mean? It means that dice will not be rolled to determine the final score. The setting in which the attack is made and measured is considered optimal in all conditions and therefor leaves no possibility of error (missed strike or lesser attack strength). That means that a character's dice score is counted as if they rolled perfectly across the board (IE: A 3D95 would count as 21 x 3 equaling 63. Where a 2D50 would count as 8 x 2 = 16). There are two steps to submit a character's attack:
Each Tournament Event will have a Champion and Runner Up.
Miscellaneous Tournament Prizes.
This tournament is meant to be fun. Please direct any questions about the tournament to myself, iyieldtonone. badgersrage, in addition to myself, is also available for questions about the different rules and combat rules in general. Don't hesitate to ask
