Roguish Luck: So the story was left off with Violeta, Dirvish of the Capraru
and her Stray, Logen, son of Thundershore were on the road known as The Long
Walk. There bearing was North by Northwest, heading to pass by Broken Shield
and further on
Roguish Luck: to the Crossroads and Bent Elbow Pass. They had only just
crossed the bridge over the tributary heading in to Pincer Lake when the two
had the notion to test the medal of their Rumerian 'eavies. The sun was
shining with small,
Roguish Luck: cotton ball clouds in the sky, but to the north a storm front
was brewing with massive thunderheads being stalled by the Ballari
Ridgebacks. The two of them had taken to foresee their Fate to be drawn
north. The two wayward souls
Roguish Luck: owing no fealty to any Kingdom, only a loyalty to each other
and the Obsidian Heart. But what truly drove them to trek North? Some would
call it Justice, others would call it Vengence. No matter the opinion, they
rode to War one way
Roguish Luck: or the other. So as the two slowed down to give their beasts a
break, the wind picked up and cleared the dirt kicked up by the travelers. [
Begin Role Play ]
Roguish Luck: Logen had a wolfish grin plastered to his face even as he
pulled the reins back to guide the horse to slow down to a small swagger. He
didn't want to run Mik ragged before they really needed his speed and power
to carry him through
Roguish Luck: the Pass to the North. Surely Violeta would match his
decision. He's been to war already, remember? If he was slowing down, he had
a purpose. Hips would readjust in the saddle in the same slowed motion,
getting used to the horse's
Roguish Luck: movements below him. [d]
scales change: Leaving Kullyr late the prior evening had eventually led him
to Pincer Lake and the dealings with the minstrel called Requiem. Those
dealings now left the Dragonblooded warrior returning by the road that would
eventually lead to
scales change: Kullyr. The plan had been set in his mind since leaving
Dunsany, while he expected the authorities of Kullyr to become a nuisance
upon return.. he did not expect much of the unexpected until the border with
the Barony. The reigns in
scales change: his grasp were given the snap the minstrel had displayed when
showing off the Obsidian Standard.. and sped off for.. well those misfortune
pair of riders he felt he recognized on some level. Chaos.. his plan thrown
to the wind by
scales change: a wayward decision with none but his own impulsiveness to
blame. -d
Violeta Capraru: Violet's eyes were glued to the threat of a storm and its
ominous spot far off over the Ridgebacks. If that wasn't premonition, what
was? Of course, when did the gypsy ever stop from running head
Violeta Capraru: first in to conflict? Never. Most anyone who had met the
wiley, springy-haired tart damned well knew that. With that in mind, those
same people would see the grin on her face, hooking in one side of plush
Violeta Capraru: lips. This was going to be a bitch, she knew it already!
Her confidence hadn't so much as dented yet, however. She looked forward to
the unknowns heading their way. Having slowed Beaut to a playful
Violeta Capraru: trot, easing his movement down to a walk then stop, Violeta
let her gaze slide to Logen. One brow rose in question. Why was he stopping?
"Scared of storms?" Grin.
Roguish Luck: The grin formed down in to a smirk as he looked towards
Violeta listening to her snarky remark. A simple shake of his head before his
gaze went to the Ridgebacks, glancing over the length of the front. "Storms
scare horses, scared
Roguish Luck: horses throw riders.." Spoken towards forward but directed
towards her. His gaze moved back to set up his Gypsy with the same smirk
before he heard the rumble. No, it wasn't thunder. It was the clap of hooves
behind them. Logen
Roguish Luck: turned in his saddle to look in the distance to spot a rider
approaching. "Speakin of riders..." Logen gave a tug of the reins on Mik to
turn him to face the approaching equestrian.[d]
scales change: No surprise that the riders paused and turned their mounts to
face the direction he came speeding from.. a natural reaction. and one of no
assurances that those he raced towards were friends. The matter of
recognition came much more
Violeta Capraru: She mock scoffed. "Nothin' would scare Beaut.. " looking
down to the horse beneath her, Vi took a hand forward to pat Beaut's
shoulder. "Righ' baby..?" Her Voivan was sweeter than ever. Calling a
warhorse her baby--go figure.
Violeta Capraru: Once Logen's eyes turned back, she'd follow suit to twist
and view, guiding Beaut around by the reigns. Her grin was still rather
present. -d-
scales change: into play when he slowed the Obsidian to a trot then a full
pause before the pair. " Well now. " Exclaimed a grinning Kythin, his
silvery-blonde newly close-clipped to his skull made for a more..
intimidating look.. more likely it
scales change: the crimson staining about his jaw that would draw
attention.. or not. The half-plate clad man shifted, then glanced over the
Gypsy and the Northman. " ... Doesn't look like your on a mission of
diplomacy. Care for a third.. " It
scales change: would be a nice detour.. avoiding Kullyr's Blood Knights at
that, or so he hoped as the case might be. -d
Violeta Capraru: "Jus' because I'm here, doesn't mean were not on a mission
of diplomacy.. I can be diplomatic!" Her eyes narrowed... but then she just
laughed.
Roguish Luck: Logen gave a chuckle to statement and response. He'd rock his
hips to adjust himself in the saddle, placing both hands upon the horn of the
leather carriage. "We're heading North to Rumeria, Sir Kythin." It wasn't an
accentuation of
Roguish Luck: distaste, but more so for him to know Logen's heard some
rumors or perhaps truths about the Dragonborn. "Do you have any qualms with
shedding that color of blood?" In finality, it was Violeta's decision if
she'd want Kythin to join
Roguish Luck: them. Logen wasn't going to deny that it'd be handy to have
another blade along... So long as there were no Vampire Kings or Volcanos.[d]
Violeta Capraru: As for the blood at his jaw? It didn't truly bring her to
question a thing. Violeta was used to having black eyes, split lips and the
like, herself... and honestly just figured Kythin' opened her mouth for
someone's fist. No, the
Violeta Capraru: gypsy didn't much give a curious look until Logen called
the dragon 'Sir.' That was... interesting. Letting the Northman explain
their heading, dark eyes kept on their potential third. She waited to see how
he'd respond to Logen.

scales change: " .... Never diplomacy with you two, a fool could see as
much. " A bite to his words came more or less unbidden.. just in time to
precede Logen's use of the 'Sir' title.. bringing about a more fierce grin
from the 'Black Knight'.

scales change: The crimson staining about his mouth was purely..
decorative.. far more so than the curve of a ill-healed nose, courtesy of
Violeta once upon a time, and the scar above one of his eyes. " Lets not talk
about my adventures in Kullyr,
scales change: tis for me and the Blood Knights to sort out. How bout it
Logen, Vi, care for the additional blades? " Besides.. someone who could
transform himself into a Half-White Dragon was always useful in the North. -d

Roguish Luck: "How about we race on it..?" Logen pulled his gaze from Kythin
over towards Vi. Any chance Logen had to make a wager, he couldn't pass on
it. "Broken Shield is fifteen miles to the North... We'll race for one mile,
Kythin wins, he's
Roguish Luck: welcome to join us, if we win, he buys us drinks at Broken
Shield till we're drunk enough to invite him along..?" The wolfish grin
returned to the Northman's face.[d]
Violeta Capraru: Oh sure, play that card. Violeta never turned down a
challenge--Logen knew that, too. Sneak. Giving him an eyeing look, her grin
curled up more. "Sounds marvelous." -d-
scales change: " You'll be drunk by sundown either way likely on my coin
either bloody way too.. " A roll of the plate-clad fellow's shoulders
amounted to his agreement, a second level of it coming in the form of a nod.

Violeta Capraru: Vi huffed through her nose, snickering across the one
breath as it released. Turning to put her horse in place, she'd offer a sly
grin to each man. "You boys need a head start?"
Roguish Luck: Logen chuckled and pulled the reins of Mik to turn him around
and hold his position on the road, awaiting the others to veer around or pull
up to the line he made. "At the beginning of the woods on the Northside of
the road... About
Roguish Luck: a mile..." Logen would point towards the location so they
might see it. "I'll count it down when you're ready.[d]
scales change: Wasn't long pass his agreement that he muttered a
draconic-worded oath in his .. amusement and irritation. " Lets get on with

in close to the saddle, knees holding in just so, her shoulders and back

Violeta Capraru: horse's motion take them--speeding up the road...

arrows whizzed towards the three at the end of the race. Two of them missed
their targets while the third slammed in to Kythin from a forward angle on
his right side. The
Roguish Luck: movement came from the edge of the woods while a posse of
riders had come around the bend. Twenty men strong, give or take. Will the
three confront the large group...? Or race for their lives?

of the posse is defeated. Either by death or dismounting. As you can see, if
you take Damage while on Horseback, you have to make a Ride Check. If you
fail, you will
Roguish Luck: fall off of your horse. Falling off the horse for the players
will not be certain doom, it will just mean that you miss out on one turn of
the race. ]

go at. If one or more of the Posse rolls the same number that one of the
Players roll, they will be at the same distance, thus Allowing for Melee

Kythin viewed this as something of a worse case scenario. Not that such
stopped the fierce grin of

breath that preceded what was to come. The noxious weaponized breath, lovely
thing that it was, was put to good use against the poor fool (swordmaster)
nearest to him .. a

and pulled one of those throwing knives free of it's sheath and lobbed it at

Violeta Capraru: Violeta saw the asshole taking aim at her, having pulled
her cloak up to sour the precision of his aim. She'd curled her shoulder
down, the side of it having received a solid wedging of an arrow in the
process. She never knew the
Violeta Capraru: hit of an arrow like that--not one that delved so deep,
deep enough to shove out the back of her shoulder, clean through a hunk of
her body. It's not like she could see the tip behind, but she could certainly
feel the pressure of
Violeta Capraru: it, what with being laid out across the ground from her
fall. A fall she didn't remember in the slightest. The pain hadn't
registered, though. Having blacked out, only to be healed so thoroughly, had
her waiting in a gasping start!
Violeta Capraru: The arrow still through her no longer had blood spun about
its shaft, but the potion certainly didn't remove the item. She sat up
quickly, showered in blood in the process, to let her dark eyes find Logen
nearer her. The next second
Violeta Capraru: had her hand reaching to swipe one of Logen's returning
blades. Her 'good' side used its arm to send the blade careening, end over
end, at the Ranger. (Perfect Strike - 2 Strike rolls, take best)

targets ahead. One that stood out was the easiest to approach in the form of
the Bloodhound seeking to assualt the Gypsy as the Ranger had beforehand.
There would be no

themselves. What passed for some horrifying idea of a were-dragon abused his
poor steed in rising up and seeking to land atop the Bloodhound and his steed
..beelining pass Vi

sought to get him to keep still out of fear.. while he hacked and stabbed

shoulder whenever she moved. It'd not stop her.. oh no no. When the returning
blade she'd 'borrowed' from Logen came back in, the swashbuckler pretended to
