FLORA
Barb: These beautiful purple flowers grow among thorny vines. Very beautiful to look at but these plants are very dangerous and are able to literally spit out poisonous needles from their stalks into any nearby living tissue. Their purple sap is very sticky and can be used to treat the poison within the barbs if treated properly otherwise poorly treated the sap becomes a very corrosive poison.
Pods: Large yellow flowers can be quite beautiful and when we say large we mean it. They are humongous large enough to engulf a full grown man with ease. These carnivorous plants seem to have evolved with the blood of beasts as when they are closed one can clearly see the fur and jaws of a beast encasing its beautiful petals. When open this nasty plant is able to send out a central vine from a opening in its center to search out un weary creatures and yank them in to enclose on and digest for its sustenance.
Rubber Trees: Within the jungles, on both sides of the Southern mountain range, are a rare flora item. This is the rubber tree. By tapping a rubber tree, collecting the white, gooey liquid and alchemically processing it, a substance known as rubber can be created. At each tree a sharp knife is used to shave off the thinnest possible layer from the intact section of bark. The cut must be neither too deep, nor too thick. Either will reduce the productive life of the tree. This starts the latex flowing, and the tapper leaves a little cup underneath the cut. A rubber tree can naturally live to be 100 years old and can grow as high as 130 feet. It cannot be tapped until 6 years of age. To reproduce, the fruit of the rubberwood burst open when ripe, scattering many seeds in an area spanning up to 100 feet from the tree. Rubber was originally used to waterproof clothing, make shoes and to create rubber balls for games. The rubber tree fruit is barely edible by humans.
FAUNA
Enfield: With the head of a fox, the forelegs of an eagle (with wings), body of a lion, and hindquarters and tail of a wolf. This medium size beast is quick and vicious. Mainly coming out to hunt in the evening it isn't uncommon for it to hunt in the day to provide for its litters of pups. They are very territorial and are usually in a pair of two, a male and a female one usually remaining with pups and the other hunting. Don't let their small stature fool you as they have very vicious maws which can rip a mans arm from his body.
Weavers: These hand sized spiders are bulky and covered in black hairs. They live together usually in groupings of no less than 50 throughout the rainforest. Their webs are known by the locals to easily cover entire trees from trunk to the highest branches. Their webs have been used by the locals to make hunting traps though collecting the webs if very dangerous work as they stick to nearly anything and are harder and sharper than steel. Many men have been lost in the harvesting of their webs as these spiders attack in groups. When the vibrations of a large creature are sensed in their traps the entire grouping will migrate to that part of the web to attack the victim and take part in the feasting of the body until only bones remain.
The Ilthur: These massive, muscled, 4 armed troll-like creatures are vicious-mawed powerhouses that live within subterranean chambers within the Glittering Desert within caves lining the walls. They are all white skinned and some short furred, while others lack fur completely, to fend off the heat of the desert days and the chambers they call home are lined and littered with thousands of diamonds. Typically nocturnal these large beasts (roughly 11 feet in height upon their hind legs or 6 feet in height slumped onto their knuckles. Weighing 500 lbs to a ton) actively hunt at night for carrion or even unfortunate souls harvesting the gems of their caverns or the nearby desert. They not only survive off the meat of other creatures but also actively eat the diamonds they seem to so preciously guard to the point that over the years their bodies (upon their backs) have began to grow diamonds upon them, leading to the loss of fur upon the broad backs of many of the beasts, leading the many criminals who wander into the caverns during the daylight hours to believe the caves they sleep within to be simple walls of stone with handfuls of hand sized diamonds . They have tiny eyes, but make up for their less than on par sight by the use of their formidable noses, and thought their ears are tiny they have very acute hearing.
