Silence from the Deep, An Adventuire of the Twisted Sigil
Solanine Tyr'avin
Grayson
Kyanee, Ship's Prelate (NPC)
So, the Sigil had been going here and there, doing it's dark deeds in the waters of their world for quite some time now. Some crew had come, some crew had gone. Tonight found the ship nearing port, but for some reason as soon as they got close enough to just see the lights of the seaside town, every bit of wind had fallen away. The sea around them stilled like a sheet of glass, and the ship stalled right in the water and bobbed there like an anchor had been cast. Solanine thought they'd docked, so she was making her way up on deck, as soon as her red hair met the chill northern air, she put her captain's hat on and continued upwards, her body clad in a long wool cloak that had seen better days. She'd looted the thing off a dead captain. Seeing they were still quite a ways from shore, she wasn't happy. "The fuck's going on around here. The wind just die on us?" She frowned and looked over the edge at the glassy still water. This was unnatural.
And Grayson came above deck shortly after she did! He had been, of course, checking out the supplies, since that's what he did quite a lot. It was a constant thing, resupplying and making sure everything was in good repair, and he'd gotten quite good at spotting things that needed fixing before they technically needed fixing. He had of course also assumed they'd docked, so he'd gotten all done up in his armor and his weaponry, and frowned when he saw where they were. "Hm. This is why oars would be a good idea." He moved to the railing and peeked over the edge as well.
She was cursing under her breath, until she realized Grayson was there. She moved back and tucked her hands into her pockets and began to pace a little bit. "Oars would be a good idea now, wouldn't they?" She moved along the deck away from Grayson, then paced back towards him and stopped right beside him. Him and his armor, made it very hard for her to sneak gropes. She gave a pat to his ass though, she had to. Then she glanced to the longboats and pursed her lips. "Think we should put the longboats in the water and head into town? Or sit here in the water till the wind blows?"
Well if he didn't wear his armor he'd be too dead to grope at all! He considered their options as he watched her, cracking just a little smirk at her first comment, then looked to the town. They could certainly make it in the longboats. "It could be a while before the wind blows again. I think we should leave a crew here to guard the ship just in case, some of us go in the longboats to shore, and see if we can't hire a large enough galley to tow us into port." Surely there was a spyglass somewhere! He'd use it to examine the port as well as he could to see if such a galley might be around. "If not, we can rotate out shore and ship crew, so we don't all starve to death."
That was true, she liked him alive. She didn't know if galleys would be this far north, but she left it up to him to see if he saw any in port. She began barking orders though, while he spied on the port, then headed below deck to grab her shore bag, then she came up as the longboats were being lowered to the water. Moving around, she spoke a few orders privately to some of the higher ranked crew, then moved back to Grayson and reached out, cupping his cheek with her hand a moment. "You going to stay on board, or come into port with me?"
"I'll come with. If I leave negotiations up to you, there probably won't be much of a town left." Ha! Like he was some big negotiator. He was just less inclined to get violent, really. "I don't really see anything with oars, but maybe we can hire enough people with smaller boats to give us a tow." Enough longboats would do it! If they just used theirs it'd take forever though. He went to his own group of men to give them their orders as far as rationing went, just in case they were held up and/or the wind took far too long to come back, and then headed to one of the longboats to climb down into it!
She grinned and shrugged. "Sometimes, towns just need wiped off the face of the earth." She leaned in and whispered, "But I'm glad you're coming." She headed to one of the longboats, climbing the ropes down and jumping the rest of the way before settling in the center. She didn't usually row, but could and would if needed. But that's what all her crew were for! She put her bag down between her legs and dug down into it, as a small white mouse ran up her hand and arm, then settled on her shoulder. She reached up and gave a little pet to the thing. "You didn't think I'd leave you on board when there's all sorts of stuff for you to get into in port now did you Enki?" She adored that little mouse, not as much as she adored that sexy Grayson, but she did love her mousey. "Alright, let's get moving."
"I don't disagree, I think I'm a bit pickier about which towns need it though." He winked to her, gave her a swat on the ass when she turned away, and then yep! They got all ready to row. Unlike her, he always rowed. He was one of the stronger crew members, after all, so it didn't make much of a difference to him that he'd gone up in rank more than a couple times, he'd help doing what he did best! Which was being a brute, ha! He eyed the mouse when it settled on her shoulder. He'd left his cat on board, of course, so it could do what it did best, and stop the rats from eating their supplies! "I'm surprised the cat hasn't eaten that thing yet." Quite the contrary, they quite regularly slept all curled up together! Awww.
She liked it when he swatted her! though in public, she'd give him the evil eye when he did it cause it was expected of her. So, rowing to shore they went! The odd thing was, even for the strongest brutes of them all, it was like.. rowing through...syrup. Something was not right in this area, perhaps with this town and port. It took all their strength to even get the damn longbow moving through the thick water. She smirked at his statement about his cat, she secretly his cat had a crush on Enki. But this area was giving even her the creeps. She paled a little bit as she leaned over to stare into the water, dipping her gloved finger into it. She jerked back suddenly, and swallowed. "Grayson. Something is so not right."
"Mm. It's not at all. This is like rowing through mud or something." He frowned, eyeing the town a bit as they ever so slowly got closer. "I doubt we'll be able to find anyone that can tow us in if it's always like this." He scowled then, his default expression! "But then how'd all the other ships get in in the first place? And what do you think's causing it?" He kept rowing just the same, because they couldn't really go back to the ship
without some supplies! They were good on water, but the food wouldn't last that long.
"The town would be dead if it was always like this. Something's causing it, something in the water, or in the air, or in town or something. A curse?" She began to help row, because it was just that difficult. They rowed for a long time, at least twice as long as it should have taken, until they finally reached the end of the dock. There weren't all that many ships in port, a handful really it wasn't a huge town, and all of them were stuck in the thick water and not a soul wandered the streets nor were there any noises coming from the local tavern though the lights were on. She climbed out of the longboat, she'd changed out her coat for her dueling cloak which she liked to wear when she went ashore. She started heading right down the dock, towards the tavern.
Soon as they had finished rowing he leaned against his oar for a minute and took a few breaths, his arms protesting rowing through syrup, as good arms ought to. So he took a moment to collect himself before getting out of the boat, and then..he noticed that nobody was around, and there was no noise. He scowled once more and drew his bastard sword just to have it readied, and started walking along with her, though he soon took the lead, since he was better at taking hits! Just in case anything decided to attack them from the front, he'd rather they go after him first. "This is...odd. I don't like it."
"I don't like it either." Her poor arms were not used to rowing so hard either, they hurt too! Thankfully, her sword was thin and light, and she was drawing it as she pushed one side of her cloak over a shoulder. She stayed behind w: Grayson, the other crew taking spots around her side and behind as they moved to the tavern. Nothing jumped out at them, not even stray cats, or dogs, or anything. There was no wind, no sound, no life it seemed. She paused at the tavern since Grayson was in front of her, letting him go in first as she had no clue what the hell they were going to walk into. She gave a little shiver though, not from the cold air, but from the eerie atmosphere. "Damnit all Grayson, I have exceptional hearing....and I don't hear shit. Not even a drunk guy snoring in the alley. Nothing." She slid her hair behind a pointed ear, as if that would help.
"Yeah, this place is fucked. Apparently someone thought it deserved to be wiped out." He didn't have exceptional hearing like she did, but hearing that even she didn't hear a damn thing made it worse. He paused at the tavern door, and rather than burst in all noisily, he carefully opened it, looking inside as he did, watching for anything terrifying! "No sign of combat, no blood, no bodies..." Then she got quiet when he went to open the door. What would he find inside? The lanterns lit, a fire in the hearth that was nearly burnt out, ales and such sitting around on tables and even half eaten food, bread and such. But not a damn person in sight. No bodies, no people, nothing. Eyes darted around a bit to take in what he could, he frowned a bit more, then pushed open the door all the way and stepped inside, heading over to the fire to try and get an idea how long it would've been going unattended to start burning out like that. He didn't put down his sword though, because it almost seemed like they all went into hiding all of a sudden to set up some sort of ambush. Either that or they'd just disappeared mid meal with no struggle. Either option meant he was keeping his sword, damnit.
About as long as it took for them to get to shore, and all the stuff they did on the boat. Basically, from the time the wind died, so a few hours or so. She moved around him as he eased in, and began looking around for any sign of life, her hand gripped tightly on her blade as she used the end of it to move things here and there. She went behind the bar, and poured herself a glass of rum and leaned against it, sipping it. "I say we steal everything we can carry.... " She paused, and cursed beneath her breath. Her ship was caught in the thick water, so they couldn't steal and run. "Forego that. I'm at a loss."
"Stealing would work if we could leave with it. We should send most of them back with as much food as they can carry though. Stuff that'll keep and go a long way." There was no way of telling how long they'd be stuck, after all! "Whoever stays will investigate, try and figure out what happened here, and how to undo it." He was already doing the investigation stuff, having a look around to see if there was anything notable apart from the utter lack of people "To do that though, we'll need to find some sort of storehouse. The question is, split up to cover more ground, or stay together?"
"We should have brought Kyanee with us. She was asleep, we need to get her. Maybe she'd know what is going on, she's a sea-person ya know. And a fucking cleric, maybe she could break this...curse...or whatever it is. Fuck! We should have brought her." Now they'd have to row out and row back, thank goodness she didn' thave to do that. "Yeah, gather as much food. There's gotta be hard tack, alcohol, flour, lard and such here. Then they need to bring Kyanee back with them, what do you think? She's your girl." Well sorta his girl, the storyline got convaluted a little, but all in all she was sworn someway to Grayson! She drank down the rest of the rum and began pulling bottles on the bar for them to take.
"Don't send them too much rum, it'll only dehydrate them faster, and while we're good on water for a while, it's not gonna last forever. And as much of a pain in the ass as it is to get back and forth, I'd rather we not need to resupply very frequently." He thought about the plan a bit, then shook his head. "She should stay on board if possible, but one of you wake her up. Tell her what's going on, ask if she has any idea what it is and if she can help. If she wants to come ashore, bring her, but otherwise let her stay there. You might have more need of a cleric than we will." They were the group badasses after all! "If she has advice, have her write it down and send it back to us here." Said to his crew guys of course!
"We can dump some of the alcohol and fill them with water from the well here if needed." She offered, but he was the supply man, not her. She depended on him! "Whatever you think's best." After he'd given the
orders to the crew, she waved her hand for them to start loading what they could find as he'd directed. Would probably take an hour for them to get back to the boat and back, if not a bit longer with longboats full of supplies and
Grayson not helping them row. She headed towards the stairway up to the rooms above. "I'm gonna go check upstairs."
"That's fine, I just don't want them having too much alcohol and not enough water and food. And I didn't say send none, gods know they'll need the morale boost." And then they set about supplying! He helped get the longboats as loaded as was feasible considering they still had to row back, then back to the tavern it was! And when she said she'd check upstairs, he nodded. "I'm going to look around the rest of the town, but I won't go far. Yell if you find something." And out he went to check out the nearby buildings!
She nodded and up she went, pilfering through all the rooms upstairs and pocketed any jewelry she found, and gold that would fit in her many pockets. She couldn't help it! But, she found no sign of anyone. One of
the rooms had a bath full of water, the water was ice cold though. Not a
damn person, child, or animal. Now Grayson on the other hand, he may have
found something pretty important as he went looking around the other
buildings. Now, the symbols were not visible from the front, but on every single building somewhere on one of the sides, or under a windowsill there was painted an odd symbol, probably something he'd never seen before. Some sort of rune. The runes looked to be painted in dried blood. He'd also find no horses in the stables, no barn cats, not even bugs crawling about.
He was looking for religious looking stuff! If there was a church nearby, he'd check it out first, really. And if he'd stayed with her he would've told her not to steal all that shit! It could be a cursed object causing this after all. But anyhow, he did check out the buildings he looked at rather carefully, so no doubt he would find one of those runes sooner or later. He didn't like stuff like that so he wouldn't touch it, but did look closely at it so he could remember what it looked like..and then started checking other buildings to find them. Hm. "Damnit." Well..it hadn't been long since the longboat left, right? It probably wasn't far! So, he broke a chunk of wood off of one of the houses, carved the rune in multiple parts into it, so as to not make the complete thing just to be safe, found something to write on and scribbled where he'd found it and what it was written on, wrapped it around the rock, then ran full speed to the docks, hoping maybe he could throw it out to the longboat before it got too far away!
Kyanee had awakened after they'd gone too far from the ship for her to call out to them. She awakened very disturbed, and the young aventi came running out on deck looking for Grayson, or Sol, or someone! One of her domains was Storm, one was Seafolk. She knew a thing or two about this! What did she do? She decided that she would swim to shore. She was a watery creature after all, and could swim as fast as she could walk on land, plus she had a few spells she could use to make her swim even faster which would possibly get her through the water at a normal speed. She ripped off her dress and jumped right overboard and began swimming towards shore.
They'd caught the rock and message, as they hadn't gotten far. Soon, Solanine was heading out the door of the tavern into the streets and glancing up and down. She called out for Grayson, and her voice seemed so loud in the quiet. "Grayson?"
The note of course would tell Kyanee how the rune was put together based off the pieces he'd carved! He was out of breath now from his mad dashing around in his armor after that long rowing session, and then heard Sol! He pulled his sword off of his back again, since he'd put it away for his running around, and started for the tavern as fast as he could, ready to
murder something! But...oh, it was just a regular calling out? He got all
nervous what with the creepy atmosphere going on. "You find anything?"
"Some jewelry, some gold, a cold bath." She wrapped her arms around her, still gripping her sword, and looked around. "What about you? I swear, there's not a damn thing alive here but our folk." She stepped closer
to him, she was a little creeped out and knew something wasn't right.
"Come look." He gestured for her to come along with him, moved to the nearest building, and then pointed at one of the runes with his sword, just to stay as far away as possible! "I got a message to the boat to take to Kyanee, to see if she can make sense of it. It seems to be on all the buildings, or at least all the ones I checked out. I only got the closest ones to the tavern."
Speaking of Kyanee, her fast finned self had gotten to the longboat, looked at the note, and kept on swimming. She rose out of the water at the dock pulling herself up, and ran leaving sticky tracks behind her. Her extremely long hair stuck to her almost like a dress, and without her usual clothing one could see the small fins on her calves and forearms that folded pretty flat when she was out of the water. When she spotted Grayson and Solanine, she headed towards them and fell on one knee before Grayson, reaching out to press a sticky hand to his waist as she offered a prayer of thanks. Then she stood and glanced around, then back to them. "We need to leave here. This place, it's dangerous. It has been claimed by the bagenik, very powerful sea demons that drink the life. This rune..." She showed him the paper he'd sent. ".. It is made by the demons, to mark their territory. If they come back, they will drink our life into their nostrils and we will fade into nothing." She grabbed Grayson's arm, trying to tug him to the dock.
"God damnit all. Fucking demons." She was amused at Kyanee's little prayer of thanks when she found Grayson, little thing was cute with her devotion and all. But, she shook her head. "Even if we get back to the ship, we are stuck."
Ooo, pretty, weird, cute Kyanee! He looked uncomfortable when she dropped to a knee and pressed a hand to his tasset, he never knew what to do when she started doing things like that. Thankfully she got right to the point, and saved the moment from being more awkward. He frowned when she said what was going on, nodded in agreement with Sol's last statement, then eyed the rune on one of the buildings. "These...bagenik...do they bleed?"
"Grayson..." She frowned and tugged his arm. "I can summon a storm, we may not go as fast as normal through the sea but I can summon the biggest storm ever and maybe we'll get out far enough. Yes, they bleed. Their
nostrils are on their foreheads, they have cold clammy flesh. They rise from
the depths, they have marked this town and all within it belong to them now.
You wish to fight them? Captain?" She turned to Solanine, panic in her stormy grey-blue eyes.
"If they are demons, Kyanee, you could fight them. That's what you do, for the love of all the gods. You're a cleric." She frowned, and rubbed her hand along her arm, as she glanced around then towards the sea.
"If they bleed, we can kill them." She could tug at his arm all she wanted! He was encased in a whole lot of metal, and wasn't keen on moving. And the runes marked their territory? He eyed the one nearest them, then smashed the hilt of his sword right into it, all sorts of breaking the wood right on the rune. Let's see how they liked that! "Maybe that'll get them riled up."
"What if we burn the whole damn thing down? Burn the runes." Oh boy, Grayson was doing his sexy Grayson thing and she grinned. She moved towards the sea, waiting and watching.
She dropped her hands from Grayson, if he wouldn't move, then it was her job to protect him! "I have never actually seen... one...only heard. I will do all I can to help." She was just a teenager!
Well, no, the demons didn't like it when the rune got smashed. The thick water began to rise up in spikes around the dock, though they didn't show their ugly faces yet!
"Just do your cleric thing, try and distract or weaken them. Hurt them if you can. We'll take care of killing them." For good measure, he went around and broke more of those runes! He figured they were probably magically connected somehow. And they could stay at the dock all they wanted. He planted his sword point-first into the ground when he saw the water rise, and pulled his axe and his shield into position.
Quickly, Kyanee began to work her magic, and Grayson would feel something very familiar, something she'd no doubt always do for him and
that is to make him even stronger so he'd hit harder as she cast Bull's
Strength on him! Then she began to glow with a silvery light, and ran down the dock and stopped at the very end. That holy light would have to do something to keep their attention, or at least make them think twice about moving too quickly. The longer she stood there, the brighter she began to glow.
The spikes of water got taller, at least 20 feet tall some of them, then the water began to pull apart like thick taffy and three creatures rose from the depths. They were 7 feet tall with huge eyes, and nostrils on their foreheads that dripped something black and smoky. They floated up out of the water and began to crawl onto the dock. Their bodies were covered in dark scales. Their long claws dripped of blood, and they had mouths that had teeth in jagged rows. One of them circled around Kyanee, staying just out of the light, and the other two headed crawling on all fours towards Grayson and Solanine. Out at the ship, several had begun to attack out there too!
She swung her dueling cloak down, and held her blade in hand, though her type of fighting she didn't think would work with these damn demons. So, as they began to crawl at them, she ran for the one closest to her with a loud cry. She sure as hell wasn't gonna stand there and let it creep to her all scary like. She charged forward, jumping on crates, and swing off timbers, and once she reached the demon she sent that blade right into where she thought it's heart might be.
Well yeah, things crawling at them wasn't going to work for him either! As soon as they started, he cocked his arm back and threw his axe just as hard as he could at...the one closer to Solanine! He then grabbed his sword out of the ground and charged. He'd set himself up where he had a clear run to the dock, of course, since he wasn't all awesome and fancy like Sol! Shield spikes slammed right into the creature that'd been coming at him, and then he tugged his shield free and kept running. Kyanee needed his protection as much as she seemed to think he needed hers, in his opinion, and he attempted to just cleave the demon that'd been circling Kyanee in half lengthwise with his sword, hopefully with it being distracted.
Kyanee's hand swept to one side, and a updraft picked up the demon coming at Grayson, and tossed it aside. She wasn't as powerful as this demon, but she was going to pull all the tricks she could out just to keep it busy. As long as that holy light stayed lit upon her, it couldn't actually touch her!
It was circling though, mumbling some demon magic as it tried to take down her magic defense. Though before it could get the spell finished, it felt the sword from Grayson strike it, in an attempt to cleave it. His sword sunk deep into it's body from behind, black blood spurting out, burning any bare flesh on Grayson that it touched and even searing any leather and metal it was so damn hot. It pulled it's broken body off his sword and spun around, reaching out with it's horrific claws to wrap around his neck and tug him close, as it attempted to draw in his very life force into it's nostrils.
Sol's thin blade pierced it clean through, and the black blood began to melt that thin blade, if she didn't pull it out, well the whole damn thing would just melt away and leave her holding the hilt!
It grinned if that's what could be called with that jagged tooth mouth, and it's claws came up and ripped right across one side of her face, barely missing her eye but digging near down to the bone through her cheek and through her lips.
Sol quickly pulled her blade out before it melted completely but the thing had melted somewhat and boy did that piss off that pirate. "You... you fucker.... this was my good bla..." Then she got the hell clawed out of her beautiful face and that only made her angrier....and it hurt too. Very badly in fact, something about those bloody claws. She screamed in pain, not really like her at all, and stumbled backwards away from the thing.
Well now see? That was why he wore armor, and had a magic sword, they tended to melt a lot less easily! And if it made Sol feel any better, there was that axe Grayson had thrown at it probably wounding it too! That thing though, was not magical at all, so it'd probably melt pretty quick if it wasn't pulled out. Grayson would just love to go help out Sol, but he was being tugged close! Fine. He dropped his sword and shield, slammed his helmet-clad forehead into the demon's face, then reached up and jammed his thumbs right into those nostrils and...just tried to rip the damn thing's head apart! Hopefully his gauntlets would offer some protection.
That boost of Strength probably gave Grayson some damn supernatural strength, and he ripped that head right off the body, which sunk thickly to the ground. The black blood flowing out and over, dripping down the dock into the water. One down, two to go.
Kyanee spun around, her lips moving as she attempted more spells. A higher level spell than she normally used, it would take most of her energy...not all....she had to leave some for healing. She held her hands out towards the one that was unoccupied, and then yelled out, "Close your eyes!" Hopefully they did, because an absolutely searing ray of light sprung from her hands, and hit the creature, lighting that thing with holy fire! Soon as it got on fire, the searing light faded, the silvery glow around her faded, and she sunk to her knees.
The demon near Sol, once he'd scratched her face all up, moved closer and jerked the woman towards it's body, almost cradling her as it began to suck her life into it's nostrils.
He tossed the head bits down onto the ground and then turned towards Sol, since yes, he had heard that scream, and it pissed him off. He might well be a berserker at times! He picked up his weapons, closed his eyes and brought his shield up in front of his face to help with that as well, and when the light went away, he started running, although..seeing that it had Sol in its clutches, using a big ol' sword like the one he had didn't seem like the best plan!
Fine. He dropped it mid-run, and his shield again, then slammed into the demon's back. Hands immediately went to its chin, and he yanked back hard. And kept yanking back, wanting to get as much use out of that supernatural strength as he could before it got away, twisting and jerking, and just trying to pull the entire head off of this one, since it'd worked so well before! If it didn't, it'd be thumbs into the nostrils again.
Sol kicked the thing, that hidden blade in her boot slipping out and driving into the wet body. As she was dragged close, she kept on striking with her boot knife, over and over even as it pulled her life out of her.
That stupid burning demon, just about dead, started to drag it's body towards Kyanee. The one trying to steal Sol's life dropped her when he was attacked by Grayson, and turned it's head all ready to take his spirit too, but instead
was met by a very angry man. It moved back, but was not fast enough as it's head was grabbed and twisted, a snap and the bones inside cracked and it went limp in his arms.
Dropped, bleeding like crazy, she sunk on her knees and one hand, the other hand pressed to the side of her face trying to stop the bleeding that was coating her in her own blood from the deep wounds. She rolled to her back, unable to even see out of one eye from the blood, once she'd seen that he killed that one. She caught the burning one crawling towards Kyanee and yelled out with a slight gurgle from all the blood, "Kyanee!"
She lifted her head, seeing the thing burning, crawling towards her, she spoke a word and the wind stirred around her, then blew across the creature causing the flames to lick and destroy it even faster.
He planted his boot on the thing's torso and shoved while he yanked on the head to pull it off entirely, then spun when he heard Sol's shout towards Kyanee. He threw the head at the thing since it's what he had handy, then dropped to a knee, yanked his axe out of its torso, and turned once more to throw it at the nearly dead thing. Hopefully between that and the wind helping that fire out, it'd finish the damn thing off!
It did! And about that time, those boys and girls at the ship had beaten the ones that came to get them too, a couple cannon shots were heard and then ... well the water just went normal and the bodies of the demons dripped into the water leaving nothing but dark stains on the wood. The people of the town were gone, but the town could perhaps be occupied again.
Kyanee rose, and headed towards the two of them, ready to give as much healing as she had strength left.
She was too hurt to even curse, and due to the cuts reaching near to bone, she just lay there feeling the chill far too much as she lost more blood.
He was breathing heavily, since that was a lot of running he'd just done, and gestured to Sol when Kyanee came towards them. "I'm fine...tend to her." He turned to Sol then and frowned. "You're gonna be okay, Kyanee will fix you right up." Said more for his own benefit than hers, probably, he was worried! And his hands burned like the devil'd gotten into them, since his fingers and whatnot were only protected by leather, and that blood had undoubtedly burned right through it, but her face was all gashed up badly! He was at least not bleeding. He did set about trying to get his gauntlets off though to get a look at the damage.
Kyanee knelt beside her, and quickly began using her heal spells on her. stopping the blood flow, and causing the wounds to begin to heal. "I will have to rest before I can make the scars go away." She couldn'tuse ALL her energy on Sol, cause awwww she had to look after Grayson. Once she made sure Sol wasn't gonna die, though she'd be weak, she turned and moved to Grayson, reaching out to take his wrists as he got his gauntlets off. Before he could resist, that healing energy flowed into him as well, healing up the burns best she could.
She lay there on her back after she was healed, just feeling terrible! She reached up and felt the scars on her face and frowned, then sat up and saw her go for Grayson. Sometimes, just sometimes she wasn't sure about Kyanee and that jealous streak in her was a mile wide. She snorted, though, she did love Grayson a lot so she couldn't fault her for healing him a little! "Let's get the hell out of here."
If he hadn't been so distracted with getting his gauntlets off he probably would've noticed her coming up on him to heal! His hands were in pretty bad shape. If he hadn't been so damned enraged, he probably would've never been able to get that second demon's head off! Of course, that had probably also just made it worse. But oh well. He frowned when she did what she could for the blistered (and in some places charred!) flesh. "I said I was fine." He flexed his fingers a little with a wince, since they were at least healed a bit, at least they worked! He then set about gathering his weapons and looked to Sol, taking off that helmet, since it'd probably taken some damage too with his headbutt! "Good plan. I think we should bring the ship in now though, if we can. Get properly supplied. Might need repairs if those things attacked there, too."
"But you aren't." She tilted her head, and blinked. "I can fix it better when I get some sleep, Grayson. I'm sorry I can't fix it completely." She looked like she was about to cry!
Yep! Back to the ship, ship to port, supply and get the hell away from this place!
"Kyanee, don't worry about it. My hands work, and I doubt they would if you hadn't helped. Thank you for coming, you saved us." He didn't want her to cry! And he'd stay to smash up the rest of the runes, ha! Hopefully that was all the demons.
She'd kiss them all better if she could! Aww.
