[Present]
"Hajime!" The sound of the father screamed out at the young teenager watching over him with a stern look in his eye's. Seeing his form was slacking, he'd walk over towards him, with a stick, and hit the back of his legs and then his hands.
"You've failed again in your training. Your eye's are not focused and you're slacking off! Focus!" His voice shouted out in demand as aged and experice eye's stared at Kevin. The stick in hand ready to strike at any notice of defilement against his wish. The stern look looking right into Kevin's eye's.
"Why!? I've been training all these years and for what? Nothing! The village is at peace and there are no wars, not like there was back when you were young. Why am I being beaten constantly to do something I'll never use and quite honestly don't want to learn! I want to go and hang out with my friends. Be apart of the group and be social! Not tied up in this home forever and living like a hermit crab for the rest of my life!"
Kevin's voice shouted back, disgust in his eye's and rebellion swelling up within his chest, despite knowing the fact his skills did not match his fathers. Yet at that very moment, the flames of passion had been kindled and any logical thought had been lost within that moment. Raising up, he'd quickly run out and into the forest, trying to get away....trying to get away from the pressure.
Kevin's father stood by as he watched, his eye's becoming dull....dull for that moment as the recollection of memories begun to spring up out of the well of memories, things that should have never had happen.....
[Past]
The music of metal could be heard ringing through the field, playing against one another as the instrument of killing could soon be seen as two warriors, dressed in black and crimson armor, danced their dance of death, knowing that fate would only choose one to be the victor. One man was young and filled with energy, while the other was old aged and yet.....wise. The harmony of battle continued for some time before the younger fighter lifted up the blade and cut down the old man. The old man sitting there, smiled as blood ran from his lips and a laughter left from him.
"What is so funny....old man? Your life is forfeit and my followers are here to witness it." The young man spoke....
"Y...you fool. You've cursed yourself. You....you came here looking for power and power you shall......obtain. You've freed me of this dreaded curse, though my family line dies here, we.....can now rest in peace." The old man choked on his own blood, his body falling back into the dirt as strands of grey fell about his face, looking up as the word slowly started to fade, only a bit of life left within his bones.
"What do you mean old man? ANSWER ME!" The youth shouted as the weapon was held at his neck, blue eye's going wide in a frenzy.
"Your family and those....you lead will gain the ability.....to use magic...and other worldly power. Yet....the cost is that a powerful Oni, will now haunt you down and your.....family and kill you all. The vengful demon.....will leave me....and inhabit you. At first.....everything will appear alright....and fine...but eventually your soul will be consumed.....and you will die. T-t-then.....when your son becomes of...age....you.....you being controlled by that damned demon......will devour your own son. Hahahaha, and....you'll....you'll have to watch as you're....able to do nothing as you devour him....and feed his soul to the demon." The old man coughed up again.
"You're lieing!" The young man shouted back to the elder as the sword pressed more to his neck.
"Am....am I?" Slowly the old man's hand reached up and pulled the collar down along the younger man's neck, there engraved on his flesh was a mark. The mark of a demon, slowly growing and expanding. "The....faster I die, the sooner he'll find his way to yooooo......u." The last word was ushered out as eye's went dull and his head fell to the side, leaving the world behind and allowing the conflict between man to continue.
The youth stared down at his neck as he looked at it and he'd shake his head. "This....this is a lie. I will....I will defeate this demon"
[Month Later -- Past]
Within his home, the young man, now to be seen for what he truly was, a young lord, sat within the house of Kevin. To his right, the man that appeared to be Kevin's father. The young man nodding to him.
"Hiro. " The young lord said in a low voice, beaten with concern. Dark circles filling his eye's. "I've....been fighting this curse for a while. Now that my unborn son is nearly here, I can feel the effects of this demon devouring me. I.....I thought I could do something about it. But I was wrong brother. I have found a way to deal with it however........I need you and Akami to do me a favor"
Hiro stared at his brother and seeing the concern in his face, his head nodded to him slowly. "What is it Hajime?"
"I....need you and Akami to take care of my.....son. " A deep swallow was taken as his eye's become serious and he stared at him. "Ikira has become sick with fever and it is apperant she will not live. I have asked her to give apart of her soul in this process as well. I will us it to break off a bit of my soul and place it into my son. This....will hold off the Oni when he comes of age and starts to discover his power. However the Oni will still...consume my flesh and a majority of my soul. I need you and Akime to take care of my son.....is that....understood?"
Hiro looked at his brother in disbelief. Standing up as he'd start to shout at him. "What do you mean!? You can't...you can't...." His eye's looked down as he started to clench his teeth and his fist went into the wall. "We've just built this town! The villagers here believe in you Hajime! How can you give up so easily and leave them!"
The man stood up and stared at Hiro, a bit of a cough leaving his lips as sickly eye's stared into his, making it painfully clear that the infection was starting to raise up and claim him even then and there. "Hiro. Please...the villagers trust you as well. Though there is something else.....no one, espeacily my son, must know that he is mine. Please...."
Hiro continued to stare as he slowly nodded his head. "A.....alright."
The cries of a child could be heard in the halls as new life filled the air of the home they lived at. The baby boy being held in the grip of his dead mother. Slowly the brother, Hiro, took the child and away from his parents. Looking at Hajime, a tear swelled in his eye's as they shut the door, leaving the Lord and his dead lover to each other....alone.
"I....am sorry......this happen....to us." Hajime's eye's looked down into his wives as he lowered his lips to her pale lifeless lips, caressing them with his own and embracing them at long last. His hand running to her chest as a black web sprung out, made of shadow, spiraling around to make a hole in her chest, slowly a orb of light, a soul, arouse. From this, his own hand went to his heart and the same technique applied. The two slowly breaking a pecie off and merging into one. This union....created a small gem, clear. Standing up, he'd leave his wife there as he walked to Hiro and his son.
Looking down at the sleeping child he'd smiled at Hiro and then his son as he slowly rubbed his head. "My son....soon.....I will become nothing and Hajime will no longer be. It is for this reason....that I shall no longer be known as such, only the oni. I leave....this powerful name to you. Grow....stronger....Hajime." The crystal was lifted up and slowly it sunk down into the baby. He nodded towards Hiro as he hugged his brother one last time. "Good bye.....brother. Remember....make him strong....so he can....free us." Slowly he'd pull away and headed into a room alone.
Standing there alone the shadows begun to consume the room, leaving the morbid black there and the darkness to blind the visual of the man. However...the sound of the old man and the many that the Oni had consumed could be heard. A dark tall figure stood before him, slowly as the shadows around the face faded it was him....staring back at him.
"Human....you've used my power....and as payment, you shall become my vessel and will consume all of your blood line, till you are defeated in combat." The voice whispered out into his head. The whispy finger pointing at him. "Kneel before me!"
"No." Hajime said as he stared at the figure.
"You defy me?" The shadowy figure spoke to him as eye's glew in a dark crimson.
"Yes....if you want me...you'll have to defeat me in combat!" Hajime screamed out to the shadowy figure, a sword drawn.
"So be it." The dark figure spoke in reply.
Hajime quickly rushing the being soon would find that he could no longer move, the shadows coming around him and slowly starting to devour him. "Your soul is tainted too heavily with my magic. You're mine." Hajime watched in horror as his body was slowly devoured by the increasing amount of shadows.
Outside, the sleeping baby open his eye's and looked up at his new father and mother, though just as if he knew something was wrong a loud cry was given out as he begun to squirm and move around within their powerful hold. Hiro looked up towards the room where his brother had gone. Tears freely falling from his eye's. "Brother.....I.....I will do as you've asked."
[Present]
"Hajime....just like your father. I am sorry my son. But....I must prepare you for the trail that your father has entrusted you with...."
Slowly Hiro begun his journey into the forest to find "his son".
