SKILLS

(racial) Versatility You may choose any of the Versatility (V) marked skills if you meet the prerequisites for your skill slots. You cannot take primary skills, at all, unless you have that primary class or profession. If the skill does not have a (V) beneath it, then it is not available with Versatility. (racial) Fearless This does not mean you have no fear, it merely means you are able to handle any fear that wells up without reacting negatively, or running away from the area or creature. (racial) Alert You gain a +5 to Spot and Listen Checks. (support) Acrobatic You have excellent coordination, and can take a +5 to all Acrobatics Checks. (support) Alchemy You are skilled in alchemy and potion making. You must have this skill in order to create potions for use and/or for sale. See our Crafting information for in-depth instructions. (crystal) Poisonmaking and Use The alchemist is able to create and use poisons. (Per Potion Rules, Poisons from List only) (crystal) Acrobatic Backstab Upon being attacked and taking no damage, you dart past your opponent, ending up perfectly positioned for a counterattack at that moment, allowing you to attack that same attacker instantly without taking up a turn. Roll strike as normal, and then proceed. This can be used once per combat. COMBAT (crystal) Sidestep You are skilled enough in acrobatics that you can simply dodge an incoming melee attack, taking no damage once per combat. DEFENSE - EVADE (crystal) Dexterous Fighter This fighting style values placement and quickness of the attack to do the most damage over raw power, and allows a combatant to use their quickness (QCK) instead of their strength (STR) for adding to damage. This is an innate skill. COMBAT (crystal) Diehard You have the ability to stay within combat longer than normal. You gain 5 extra hp. You may take this skill as many times as you desire. (crystal flavor) Track (V) You can follow the trails of creatures and characters across most types of terrain if they leave some sort of trail. (crystal flavor) Blindsense Using your senses, such as acute smell, hearing, or ability to see heat signatures; a creature with the blindsense skill notices things it cannot see, but without the precision of blindfight. Someone with blindsense cannot use this skill to make attacks but it will allow a person who cannot see the ability to make Listen checks whenever Spot checks are called for, and allows them to pinpoint creatures around them by sound, heat or smell. (crystal flavor) Clarity of Vision Your visual talents are so skilled that you can briefly see invisible opponents. If you are fighting an invisible foe, at the start of your turn you may make a DC20 Spot Check, if you pass then you can pinpoint the location of invisible foes within 30 feet. This clarity lasts until the end of your turn. (profession) Quick Reconnoiter You can make one check that includes both Spot and Listen, adding your Perception bonus to the roll and any other boosts to spot OR listen such as Alert. This can be used as often as you like, even during combat as a free action. (topaz) Dual-Wield You may use two weapons (light melee or one-handed weapons only) in combat. This allows you to use two purchased weapons and gain the weapon damage for both. (Example: If you have duel wield, you may use two swords in combat which makes your weapon damage roll 1d6 & 1d6). This is an innate skill. (topaz) Combat Affinity You have an innate or learned fighting style. (topaz) No Way Out (V) When an enemy attempts to escape, you may make a free action even if it is not your turn to follow and make an attack. This does not work if they have a skill that allows them to get away without being stopped such as Live to Fight Another Day. (topaz flavor) Investigator You gain a +5 on Gather Info, Insight and Search Checks. (amber) Improved Poisonmaking This skill add +2 to the DC of your poisons. Your poisons will also be improved, each poison's improvement is listed. (amber) Greater Poisonmaking This skill increases your DC by +4 instead of +2, and enables your poisons to be more enduring, and more powerful. The greater improvement for each poison is listed. (amber) Master of Poisons Your prowess with poisons is legendary. You cannot poison yourself, even if you roll a Critical Fail on your strike using poisons. You are able to apply poisons as a quick action, enabling you to make an attack the same round your poison is applied instead of taking up a turn to apply poisons. (amber flavor) Knowledge You have accrued knowledge of one specific source. You also gain a +10 to each knowledge check asked for in that area. You may choose ONE type of knowledge per Gemstone rank you attain to gain your boost in! This is retroactive, you may choose as many knowledges as your gemstone ranks. Without Knowledge, you normally cannot make knowledge checks unless untrained is allowed. The wearer feels a surge of heroism when she tracks down marked prey. She gains a +1 to strike and damage rolls made with weapons against one creature she has successfully tracked within the previous 24 hours. If her one target is considered a Mark, this bonus increases to +2. If her one target is also a member of her Favored Rival organization (using that skill), she gains a bonus on critical hit rolls against the target, allowing a critical hit on 19-20 Strike.  Armor: Armored Ink (13 DEF Mundane/Magic) Cloak/Shoulders: Catching Cape This silvery cape furls and ripples like a flag with every step its owner takes. Once per day, the wearer can order the cape to transform into a faint sphere of force that surrounds him on all sides, allowing him to evade any damage from a ranged attack, including invocations and visible spells (such as a fireball, or ice orb). When the field is used, all magic is lost from the cloak, leaving only a mundane silvery garment for the remainder of the day. Unlike a normal light source, only the holder of the rod can see the light produced.  2. Windcaller's Compass  This light gray compass made of fine metal, and is engraved with various depictions of the sun, moon, and clouds. Cloak of the Bat [Cloak]  Fashioned of dark brown or black cloth, this cloak bestows a +5 bonus on Hide checks. The wearer is also able to hang upside down from the ceiling, like a bat. By holding the edges of the garment, the wearer is able to fly. If he desires, the wearer can actually polymorph himself into an ordinary bat and fly accordingly. (All possessions worn or carried are part of the transformation.) Flying, either with the cloak or in bat form, can be accomplished only in darkness (either under the night sky or in a lightless or near-lightless environment underground). Either of the flying powers is usable for up to 10 minutes at a time, but after a flight of any duration the cloak cannot bestow any flying power for as long as it just was used to fly. [Worth: 3,500gp] Pendant of Joy [Neck] This crystal pendant is a deep shape of blue-green and any who touch it are reminded of a deep, clear, calm sea. When worn the Pendant of Joy creates a resonating field of positive emotions within 30' of the wearer. While this field is not strong enough to influence decisions or dictate courses of action, it does cause those that are willing to talk to be more patient and understanding, providing a +5 bonus to Diplomacy checks to anyone within 30'. This can only be used on unfriendly or indifferent targets, not actively hostile (check with DM). [Worth: 3000gp] Goggles of Bright Light [Head/Eyes] These sturdy goggles have a golden mirror sheen on the outside of their lenses, a wrapping of leather holding them snugly in place. This tint blocks a considerable amount of natural light. Once per adventure, the goggles’ wearer can emit bright light on command to a range of 30 feet. Any creature within that area must succeed at a DC15 Endurance save or be blinded for 1 hour. In addition, the wearer also gains a +2 bonus on any saving throws against visual effects. [Worth: 5,500gp] Sun Lantern This is in all ways comparable to a hooded lantern, except instead of oil, you may slide a sunrod into it.
