We are just like most other fantasy worlds, so most of the languages one would speak in other fantasy worlds, can be spoken here. You come into the game knowing common, and 2 other languages.
Though your character may know languages that work on other worlds, you are allowed to choose 2 of the following languages that will assist you in adventuring here. TEACHING LANGUAGES
You may teach another person (or a class) another language if you wish, but it MUST be one of the core languages you choose upon creation of your character. Each person normally has two besides common, plus often a racial language. In other words, you can't teach someone a language you've learned through use of the Polyglot skill or anything similar.
Learning New Languages
- Find someone who can teach the language you want.
- You may only learn one language at a time.
- How many languages you can learn from others is based off intelligence bonus. So if your INT bonus is 4, you can learn 4 languages from other teachers.
- RP the actual teaching or agreement to teach once a week for the alloted weeks. It does not have to be anything long and drawn out, even a few posts from each of you to show you have at least met together and worked on it. Send this in to psionicwanderer.
- If you skip a week and don't send in a log, you can make it up. Even if it takes you 3 months to do one month of teaching that's fine. The language is still considered being learned until all weeks are done.
- The teacher can teach it for free, or ask to be paid. Send agreement receipt to psionicwanderer so that the gold can be transferred.
How Long it Takes
- Signal Languages take 4 weeks to learn.
- Natural & Country Languages take 5 weeks to learn.
- Supernatural Languages take 6 weeks to learn.
- Archaic Languages take 8 weeks to learn.
