ORGANIZATIONS OF ALZORC
Order of the Silver Flame
Official Knights and Paladins of Alzorc. As tough and hard as their land.
The King's Bones
In those times when one figure comes to unite the Jarls beneath him, crowning himself King of Alzorc, these are the monarch's personal bodyguards, and in peacetime number no more than 24 members. They serve in groups of six. The King’s Bones wear ornate chainmail and plate armor with the royal seal upon their shields and breastplates, and carry swords and spears as their weapons when on duty. In peacetime they guard the royal palace and the doors of the royal bedchamber, whilst in war they serve as the personal bodyguards of the king. They cannot be bribed and if anyone is foolish enough to try they find themselves arrested at once and dragged in front of the king to explain their actions.
Children of Zorcan
The Children of Zorcan are an elite group of warriors from across Alzorc who train together and hone their skills as a fighting force. They are the special forces of Alzorc, often sent out to do jobs that the Knights cannot accomplish. To this day there are only a few hundred members. Entrance requires you to defeat two members of the Children, one after the other, in melee combat. The entrance fight sometimes results in death for some participants. The main base of operations for the Children of Zorcan Alzorc Keep, but one can find small cells in many villages and towns.
Stormlords
The Stormlords are the elite mages of Alzorc, specializing in weather magic. They are also the reason that pirates are slightly wary of vessels that fly the Alzorc flag.
The Alliance
The Alliance is quite possibly the most disorganized group of interests ever to exist, as well as being one of the most powerful in Alzorc. Not so much a group of its own as a loose cooperative union of several of the nastier specimens of life in Alzorc, the Alliance is nevertheless quite powerful, and has been traced to all sorts of activities from drug smuggling to piracy to spreading dissent.
This vile assocation came about after several low-life criminal groups decided to band together in an attempt to gain power over the criminal gangs already entrenched into society.
The Alliance is not to be trusted under any circumstances due to its "ends justify the means" attitude towards action. As of the latest decree of the King of Alzorc, members of the Alliance have forfeited their right to life through their actions and are to be executed on sight
Named Men
Named Men are from Alzorc, where barbarians rule and war is a law of the land. They have fought as the lowest of thralls, and made their ways up through the ranks, fighting in battle after battle and killing man after man. In performing some great deed -- slaying scores of men, holding a fortress against impossible odds, surviving something none other survived etc. -- the Named Man earns his name. The Name almost always pertains to some obvious aspect of the character, or the great deed he performed in order to become what he is. They also tend to have that tribal feel to them (Ninefingers, Thunderhead, etc.). Named Men are more than just skilled combatants, however. They're heroes in their lands, commanding respect and fear wherever they tread. Only Named Men can become Chieftains, and as such most, if not all, Named Men have the ability to lead a group of men or an army. They're tacticians, ruthless savages, and perfect killing machines. Though they are called Named Men, they do include women.
OOC: To become a Named Man, you must meet the following prerequisites: 35 Reputation, be Zorcan, and write up a story of at least 500 words as to how you got the Name, as well as choose a pertinent name. This must be sent to tesarikone, and approved. Also, a Named PC can give another Zorcan PC a Name (if mun consents), if the character meets the prerequisites and as long as the storyline played out between the two meets the number of words.
