Fizzwinken Gadgetcracker's Gyro-Blender Event! /CLOSED

[Head Moderator]

A rather amazing contraption sits outside of the Obsidian Heart Inne, looking very much like an oversized tea kettle on wheels! The gnome inventor, Fizzwinken Lugburt Gadgetcracker came into town pushing it along with a bit of effort. Fizzwinken has been given permission from Maria to set up outside the inne again as a special opportunity for the Yule Season. As you approach the tap room's door, he calls out to you,

"Ahh yes, intrepid adventurers the lot of you aye? Lookee what Fizzwinken's got here, come up with it in me own laboratory, took me YEARS to build yes indeedly YEARS! Introducing the Gyroscopic Blending Retroknitter Adaptation Booster! Look at it, isn't it a beauty? Long name, yes, yes, so we'll just call it the Gyro-Blender. You all had such a fine time with it before, Maria called me back!"

A pause, as he allows you to look over his contraption.

"What does the Amazing Gyro-Blender do? My dear, it blends, knits and adapts whatever you toss into it, completely rebuilding it into something EVEN BETTER!! Well, most of the time. Sometimes it just spits out a pile of broken parts. But, that's the thing with technology right?"

He opens up the tea kettle like area and motions.

"Just toss your pieces in there, and after a little bit it pops out something right in the middle here. C'mon, give it a try! Just 3,000 gold coins, a drop in the bucket for a wealthy adventurer! And it's not as if you won't find more treasure down the road, if it screws up, right-o?"

Here's the deal! This event will not last forever! When Fizzwinken heads out of town, you won't have the opportunity to use his machine until he decides to come back into town!

You may toss two items into the Gyro-Blender for 3,000gp. For guaranteed success it costs 6,000gp.

Before anything else is done, a plain d20 roll will be made by Fizzwinken for "Use Object". If a "1" is rolled, then whatever you have dropped into the machine is mangled beyond repair and lost forever (no you may not use Stitch in Time to fix it, it is utterly destroyed). Fizzwinken, feeling very sorry for you, will give you back your 3,000 gold.

If you'd like a guaranteed success, then you can pay 6,000gp and Fizzwinken will spend extra time to ensure that an actual item of use is created. His "Use Object" roll is considered an auto-success.

Choose two items you own: magic items, enchanted weapons, special materials, etc. Toss them into the Gyro-Blender and see what comes out! No two items the same! If you wish to add a third item, it has to be completely mundane and flavor-only such as a plain dagger, pair of shoes, a cloak, a belt, a plain gemstone, a hunk of regular leather, a feather, etc.

NOTE: You may not add in any previous Fizzwinken items. If you have any items created the last time Fizzwinken was here, those are NOT to be put into the machine.

NOTE: If you pay 3,000gp I will roll dice on the message board, if I roll a 1 you lose both items for good but get back your gold. It's a risk!


LIMITS: You may use the Gyro-Blender once per character. If you have your items destroyed, then you may try again with other items if you wish until you actually have a creation.

ONCE PER CHARACTER means one item per character, it doesn't mean you can con or finagle other players or use your other characters to drop in items FOR YOU in order to be greedy and get more than one Fizz item. This is making me angry, and I reserve the right to BAN any player that attempts to cheat the system from ever using Fizzwinken again. I'm so serious. People who are so damn greedy and try to cheat the system and get more than one item are going to ruin it for everyone else.

TERMS: Go to the event page and reply, on your reply you must roleplay out your use of the machine, stating very clearly at the top your character name, your screen name, and how much gold you are spending. YOU MUST HAVE THE GOLD. Then post EXACTLY what you are tossing into the machine, I want full descriptions and even worth if you know it.

REMEMBER: You cannot further enchant, or paragon, or add anything to a Fizzwinken item except LEGACY and MAGICALLY WARDED. Also, you may rename your Fizz item but you need to mark it with the full Fizzwinken name on your dossier as well so everyone knows it is a Fizz item.

"Actually going to partake this time! Grew no closer to cracking your secret, though I've learned how to make a wicked good smoothie out of objects found around the workshop. Fascinating really."

Once the money exchanged hands, she watched the machine with a vested interest, the many little cogs of her brain working overtime: perhaps if she saw it in action personally, she'd get a good idea .. or at least improve on that smoothie.

This object is a dull black stone is just large enough to fit comfortably in the palm of the hand. It has been meticulously sculpted in a somewhat abstract shape of a fly. There is an opening in the nose of the object and a second hole at the tail. Once per day when the owner blows into the tail opening, a small flying insect will erupt from the opening in the front, then proceed to fly away in the direction of true north. After a moment the insect will disappear in a small puff of dust.

Fizzwinken's Self-Actuating Cognitive Reception Apparatus
This small book is bound in hammered silver, and has a crystalline blue five-pointed star embedded on the front of the book. Inside, it is engraved with the continents of the world. This tome allows you to call upon the secret memories of the world to aid you in unlocking forgotten knowledge, as well as obtaining new knowledge. When released, it slowly orbits around it's owner's body, giving it's owner a boost of +5 to any type of knowledge check, once per adventure. If you allow the book to continue to orbit at any point, it flips open to a new page, and a magical quill begins to record new information including new places discovered, monster lore, weather patterns, arcane and religious information and anything else that it obtains while it orbits.

This flanged collar of mithral and steel is edged with a dull black stone, and protect's the wearer's neck and shoulders. It provides +3 DEF. In addition, it is engraved with a glyph of warding in the shape of a flying insect. When the wearer is struck in melee, he can trigger the glyph as an immediate action, causing the glyph to discharge a sonic blast of 2d5 DMG against the creature making the attack (and other creatures within 5 feet, per DM, wearer is immune). The blast sounds like the buzzing of thousands of flies, doing sonic damage. The glyph can be triggered even if the attack would normally leave the wearer incapable of taking actions (such as killed, stunned, dazed, or knocked unconscious). The wearer can trigger the glyph on his own by pressing in the glyph, in that case a swarm of flies bursts forward, forming the shape of an arrow in the direction North.

This powerfully sharp enhanced blade does 2d8 DMG. Fizzwinken's Luminous Mobilizing Aero-Strider
This multi-purpose disc can levitate off the ground, or produce eight silvery spider-like legs to move with ease across even treacherous terrain such as underground where there isn't room for the disc to levitate, lifting up to 300lbs whether crawling the surface or in the air. It moves at the same speed as a normal creature (30 ft). The edge of the disc is set with silvery plates that glow with a brilliant silver light. This silver light is the same produced by a silvern lantern, allowing travelers to assume that those with the light will be peaceful and will offer assistance to them if needed.

Fizzwinken's Sacred Strategic Durability Straps
These spidersilk handwraps are exquisitely woven with threads of cold black steel and give a +3 to all unarmed damage. They are naturally 'holy'. Once per combat, when the wearer hits a living creature, the target must succeed at a DC20 Endurance save or take 1d4 points of Strength damage in addition to the attack's normal damage. If the target of the attack takes any Strength damage from this attack, the ring's wearer gains a +2 bonus to her Strength for the following round of combat and the target appears to be weighted down with chains made of bright energy that continue to sap the strength of the target.

Fizzwinken's Unstoppable Security Armament Module
This set of armor is like no other. As you don the armor, your body takes on the properties of a golem of iron and stone with the spirit of a frumious bandersnatch. Short quills of iron cover your shoulders. This armor fuses with your body, transforming into living armor that moves with ease. Your eyes glow with a soft blue light, allowing you to gain low-light vision and darkvision to 60 ft. You also gain immunity to all mind-affecting effects such as charms, compulsions, phantasms, and morale effects, as well as immunity to sleep, paralysis, disease, negative energy and fear. One arm holds a shield gauntlet, attached to the armor so that both hands remain open much like a buckler, though it is the size of a light steel shield. You may, if desired, pull the shield off and toss it down, causing it to form a bandersnatch mount that stalks forward gracefully on six limbs, with quills running down it's back. Upon it's back is a saddle which protects you from the quills. With the shield, this armor gives +37 DEF; without the shield it gives +35 DEF. You may be raised and resurrected as normal in this armor, and retain normal effects when dropping below 0 hp. You cannot benefit from positive energy healing, you must be repaired in some way. You cannot gain any other defensive boosts while wearing this armor, except from skills and class/profession bonuses. (Heavy Armor)

This arandur scimitar is silvery-blue, due to the blood of a blue dragon added to the metal. Once per adventure, you may command this blade to glow with the soft and pure light of the moon, causing all undead to be repelled from the bearer. Undead cannot willingly come within 10 feet of the bearer for one full combat and all attacks you make with this blade will hit incorporeal creatures. The blade must recharge every 24 hours in the light of the moon. This weapon cannot be harmed or broken by cold, fire or electricity. This incredible blade can also be used as a moonlit torch, but this soft light will not repel undead, simply light your way with a silvery glow. It does 1d6 damage.
