Raufak Agnarsson: Raufak was not having the best night. He was a bit
distraught still, because of course he was! That was some heavy stuff, and he
was still young. So he'd just been drinkin. Sitting around drinking got
boring, however, so he'd
Raufak Agnarsson: decided to go out for a walk through the park, and he
didn't even take his weapon or armor! Just walked right on out the door. His
walking was not the most steady it'd ever been, and he currently looked like
he might just tip on
Raufak Agnarsson: over into the duck pond, since he was leaning towards it
and staring at somethin. Probably a sleepy duck.
Tesarik One: Suddenly there was a splash, and the little treant sapling on
the other side of the duck pond just jumped in and started splashing around
with his lil branches. Miakodah approached, quietly, looking quite a bit
different than usual
Tesarik One: since being in Ancient Aspect wasn't something she did
regularly. All her leaves were white instead of green, though her petals were
still colored, and her eyes were white instead of the normal green. But, it
was still her of course
Tesarik One: easily determined. She began to move around the duck pond
towards Raufak.
Raufak Agnarsson: He jumped a bit at the splash, then stared over at the
little treant splashing around with his branches. He snickered a bit after a
while, then started clapping. "Go little tree!" Then he was approached! He
jumped once again and
Raufak Agnarsson: eyed Miakodah a bit warily. "Uh. Hi." Stare. What was she?
Surely something in all that knowledge he had would let him know.
Raufak Agnarsson: And he said that in Arborian! To the tree. He addressed
Mia in common.
Tesarik One: She was a wilden. The tree, hearing Arborian, danced a little
more in the shallow water, splashing all sorts of water around, and then
climbed out and began to shake out his leaves. "Are you ok?" Her voice was
far more reserved than
Tesarik One: normal, but he would not know that! "Hello. I'm Miakodah
Greenthorn, I live at the Heart Inne. We were just taking a walk. That's
Ashsprout, my companion." She paused and then called out softly to her little
tree, "Sprout, come meet
Tesarik One: the fellow."
Raufak Agnarsson: Hazel eyes had a bit of a difficult time focusing on her,
but when he heard more splashing he looked over again and grinned. "If you're
not just the cutest little treant in all of Arith I dunno who would be." And
so his Arborian was
Raufak Agnarsson: a little slurred, but it was still understandable! He
switched looked back Mia and shrugged. "Orphaned a kid the other day, so I
guess I'm doin better than her. Raufak Agnarsson. I live at the inne too but
just on the weekends
Raufak Agnarsson: lately and I'm also takin a walk. Nice to meetcha, and you
too Ashsprout!" Well it was clear he was a linguist of some skill, what with
smoothly switching languages mid-sentence! "Just had a bit to drink is all,
I'll live. Unless I
Raufak Agnarsson: fall in there'n drown I guess."
Tesarik One: She could speak Arborian too, so she understood it all. She
frowned, and stepped in closer to help him stand up since he seemed to be
quite drunk. "Did the parents deserve it?" Sprout headed on over, gave
another shake of his leaves
Tesarik One: which got them wet, and then went right up to Rauf at his feet
and stared up at him, he didn't really talk that much. But he was still cute
as a button. "I won't let you fall in and drown."
Raufak Agnarsson: He was happy for the help! He straightened up a bit more,
swayed a bit, then decided to just have a seat on the ground. He eyed Sprout
heading on over, then got all wet when he shook his leaves and snickered,
reaching out to give
Raufak Agnarsson: those leaves a pat. "They did, but good luck tellin a
little girl that and not feelin like a jackass afterwards."
Tesarik One: "True." She had to agree with that, facing the child of those
you killed would be tough for many except the hardest of hearts. She sat down
beside him and picked up a few pebbles and tossed them out across the duck
pond, making them
Tesarik One: skip. "What's done is done, no sense making yourself sick over
it. She will grow up and do one of two things... hunt you down to avenge
their deaths, or understand that you were merely doing what was necessary.
You can't change it,
Tesarik One: no matter what you do. Even if you raised her yourself, one day
it will come to either of those choices. And had it not been you that killed
them, someone else would have if they were in a situation deserving of it. So
in reality,
Tesarik One: the blame goes to the parents who chose to do things to get
themselves killed while they had a child. No?"
Raufak Agnarsson: He grunted, then nodded once and watched her pebbles go
skipping. "I suppose that's true. And I don't know a damn thing about raising
a child, but I've been taking language lessons lately, so I told her I could
finish teachin her
Raufak Agnarsson: elven, and probably teach her how to read." He mostly
self-taught himself languages, so knowing how to actually teach other people
wasn't
Raufak Agnarsson: something he'd be good at 'til Dorian got done with him!
"I also said I'd teach her how to fight, and if she wants to learn from me
and use my own skills against me someday, that's perfectly fine. I know I'd
go after someone who
Raufak Agnarsson: killed either of my parents."
Tesarik One: "You are going to do more than most would do for the family of
someone that they killed. Some do not get to do anything for those left
behind, so in that case you are lucky." She tossed another pebble and it
skipped even further
Tesarik One: this time. "But, I have not been on Arith very long so I do not
know for certain. I just feel that is the case."
Raufak Agnarsson: "Hell, depending on how many years you consider long, I
haven't been on Arith very long myself. I dunno either, I'm just sorta..doing
what feels right. They weren't the first people I've killed, and they
probably won't be the last
Raufak Agnarsson: if I'm gonna be an adventurer. And I know I can't help the
family of everyone I wrong, but..maybe if I can at least help get her set on
a good path in life, it'll help balance things out a bit."
Tesarik One: She'd only been in existence since the Scarred Lands were
created! She wasn't even a year old! "I think so. It will only bring you down
if you let every heartache weigh your heart like blackness. The fact you feel
sorrow over this
Tesarik One: is a good quality, I think."
Raufak Agnarsson: "Well, I do try to be a good person, so I suppose it's
good I have good qualities." He grinned to her then and winked. "I certainly
didn't get the good looks in the family." He stretched out a little then, and
flopped onto his back,
Raufak Agnarsson: staring upwards a moment. "So do ya have any trinkets or
protective stuff for Sprout there? I've got somethin on a job recently that I
can't use since I've got no critters followin me around, and if you're part
of the Heart I may as
Raufak Agnarsson: well let you have it."
Tesarik One: "You are supposed to look different?" She didn't understand
what he meant. She glanced to Sprout again, he was resting on the edge of the
water, being quite still and looking like a little bush instead of a treant
for the t
Tesarik One: the time being. "No, I have not bought any trinkets for him
yet. I...just do not see him wearing armor or the like."
Raufak Agnarsson: "Nah, I'm supposed to look like this. My dad's a lot
prettier though, I took more after my mom." Though not entirely! There was a
bit of his dad in him, which is why he was easily seen as a half orc rather
than a full. "How about a
Raufak Agnarsson: collar?" He sat up then. He had his pack with him! He
opened it up and rummaged, then produced a collar and offered it to her. "It
does..uh..somethin."
Raufak Agnarsson: "Heals, it can heal him."
Tesarik One: "You look just fine to me, Raufak Agnarsson." She smiled, and
then reached over and took the collar when offered. "Oh, that is lovely,
thank you. Healing is always a good thing, Sprout tends to get himself into
trouble sometimes."
Raufak Agnarsson: "Well thank ya, Mia. You mind if I call ya Mia? You're
awfully pretty in a weird plant sorta way." He stretched out a little. "What
sorta trouble does he get into?"
Tesarik One: "You think I'm pretty?" She grinned and shook her leaves and
petals a little bit. "I'm usually more...green.... since I'm so young I'm
said to be in my spring. But, we have aspects, three of th
Tesarik One: them* and we choose them for a day at a time. The one I went
into today is called The Ancient and it makes me white. There is also The
Destroyer, which gives me thorns and black eyes, and The Hunter which makes
my leaves turn colors
Tesarik One: like in autumn."
Raufak Agnarsson: "Of course! If my dad taught me one thing good, it's to
appreciate beauty of all sorts. I think you'd be pretty more green, too.
Thorns sound a bit dangerous. I bet autumn colors are really nice to look at
too though." He nodded a
Raufak Agnarsson: bit, then put his hand over his mouth to hide a yawn.
"Ugh. Sorry I'm not the best conversationalist today, and I'm already gettin
tired on ya."
Tesarik One: She rose at that, and reached over to Sprout to give him a
little shake, "Wake up Sproutling, we are going to the inne." Sprout jumped
up and wrapped his arms around Mia's legs and she reached down and put the
collar around him.
Tesarik One: "Raufak gave you a pretty collar to help you heal." Sprout
wiggled his leaves to Raufak. Then, she nodded to Rauf, "Goodnight, be well."
And, began to walk away.
Raufak Agnarsson: He grunted, then rocked back a bit, to give him nough
momentum to roll forward and get up to his feet, grunting as he stood up and
gave a little wave in response to the leaf wiggling. "Well I'm not goin to
sleep right here at the
Raufak Agnarsson: pond, I'll walk back with ya at least."
Raufak Agnarsson: And then he did!
