John:
- Dwarven Axehead - You may make this into a war axe or dwarven urgrosh for half it's normal price. For instance, a war axe is 3500gp, so for 1750 he could have a war axe. It would be even cheaper if a crafter makes it.
- Runestones (3)
(1) Rune of Torch Light This rune creates a glowing ball of light that floats above your shoulder and lights the area as well as a torch. It lasts for three hours, and will dim and flare as you command it. No save required.
(1) Rune of Adjustment
This rune adjusts one armor, weapon, shield, or clothing item to fit the caster or target, which lasts through one adventure.
(1)Rune of Forced Quiet 600gp | 125gp | 225gp | 1CP
Ever have that party member that just cannot stay quiet? This rune causes one full party and it's accoutrements (horses, wagons, pets, etc) to be forced to remain quiet for 1 hour. Save required if resistant.
Viola:
- Burned scroll case containing a handwritten (in Bryonish) account of what happened here 437 years ago, when the lord of the manor went crazy and killed his family. It is written by that lord, and explains in detail every step he took as sort of confession.
Wesh:
- 50gp
- Bastard Sword [1d6]
Warren:
- Mage's Spellbook: You may add 3 new spells of your choosing to your spell list.
- Spell Component Pouch

don't like my rules, don't play when I'm DMing.)
Tesarik One: (Your snake passes probably 90% of the time anyway so it's
easier to have him right after you)
Mighty Gar thog: (ver well ~sighs~)
Tesarik One: (I will put him where you rolled this time because I'm way too
nice, but if it slows us down considerably and then you end up typing a pass,

Tesarik One: ^v^ 10/14/2014 9:27:46 PM ^v^
Tesarik One: Ok fellow adventurers, it is nearing the time of year when the
veil between the living and the dead is thin (halloween!) and so many strange
things have started to occur around Arith. Not all need the expertise of the
Heart, but
Tesarik One: today Maria has been asked to get a group together to not only
explore an apparently 'haunted' keep, but to locate a group of missing
adventurers who headed to said keep a week or so ago and have not been heard
of since. The keep is
Tesarik One: located in Bryony, fairly near Tuckbury, so the portal is
opened into the main square of the village of Tuckbury. The main inne/tavern
is called the Fryer Tuck Inn. You will need to go and seek information there.
(Begin RP)
Tesarik Five: Warren had been out and about when he heard about something
being haunted, and of course the curious little fairy just had to go and see
what it was! Quick to bolt through the portal he looked around, a big smile
on his little face
abenedictionhymn: Viola stood quietly in the inne while the portal was
opened, tying her azure blue coat around her small waist to keep it nice and
tight. Her long blonde hair was braided and curled in a sort of crown atop
her head, and her hands were wrapped with the handwraps of a lighter shade of
blue. Usually barefoot, she'd decided
Mighty Gar thog: ~The Snake was wrapped around Weshs arm, while he wore a
bandolier this eve, with a spear dangling off its one strap, and a khopesh
shaped sheath off another, he stepped through, smiled to Raelgil and said
lowly~ Ladies
Mighty Gar thog: first.
abenedictionhymn: it would be a good idea to wear boots tonight. A copper
torc bearing snarling lion heads seemed a bit too gaudy for the monk to wear,
nonetheless it was around her neck. As the portal opened, she headed for it
with a big smile and a bounce in her step.
SwordOfAtrophy: "I ain't afraid of no ghost.." "Don't recall anyone saying
you were." A final check of the gear to make sure he was ready, and
everything was all set. A stock of who would be coming, and a nod to a few
familiar faces. "Ah, well at
Tesarik One: Maria stood there waiting for everyone to gather, and when they
had she spoke, "Tonight, we need someone to lead.... "
RageofNocturne: :: John stepped through the portal portal in his were form
his duskwood armor being worn over his fur with his cloak of the ursa along
with a sword, whip and gun on his hips he sniffed around a bit then looked
around the main square
Adal Ag Hamid: A haunted keep! Well that sounded like it might be
interesting. He had gone back to the desert a bit, but he came back when he
heard about this! Although since he no longer needed to be in disguise, he
was all done up in his robes,
RageofNocturne: and shook his fur out then looked to Maria and blinked but
well he was no leader-D-
Tales0fBeauty: The beautiful snow elf would have heard about a place being
haunted and being the elf she was seemed like the place for her to be, kaldra
would follow her as always, she offered each and everyone that showed up a
nod and she would
Tesarik One: (If you'd like to be the leader tonight, then roll a 1d20)
Tales0fBeauty: go through the portal with the others and looked to maria and
noded. (D)
Tesarik Five: as he turned in the air there in quick jerky actions, trying
to get a look at everything before he tried to find anything that looked
shiney.
Adal Ag Hamid: veil and turban, obscuring any real features except from his
eyes. The robes were all loose, so it was even difficult to tell what sort of
build he had! Golden eyes shifted to Maria and blinked, then he held up his
hands and shook
OnlineHost: Tesarik Five rolled 1 20-sided die: 11
OnlineHost: Tales0fBeauty rolled 1 20-sided die: 12
SwordOfAtrophy: least Vi is here. Someone with some sense that I can talk
to.." "Oh don't worry, I'll keep the ghosts away with my beautiful singing
voice." "Joy of joys..."
Adal Ag Hamid: his head a bit, then signed to her. "It may be difficult for
me to lead if not everyone understands commonsign."
OnlineHost: Mighty Gar thog rolled 1 20-sided die: 2
Mighty Gar thog: (hee hee)
Tesarik One: She nodded to Adal, and glanced around at those gathered. "I'm
going to allow various people to lead in the coming weeks, and at the end
your teammates will vote and tell me how well you led. If any of you
completely disregard your
Tesarik One: leader, your pay will be docked. Hmm. Well, Raelgil you will
lead tonight. Agreed?"
SwordOfAtrophy: "Fine with me. Though, you know, Maria.. doll.. if I didn't
know any better I'd think you saddled me with this sword on purpose.."
"That.. that hurts me, E. It really does." "Oh nobody believes you."
Tales0fBeauty: She looked to her and gave a firm nod while holding her gaze
with those silver eyes of hers "It will be my honor." (D)
Mighty Gar thog: Docked? Like how much? ~that made him blink a few times~
Tesarik One: She snickered hearing Ellis, and then nodded to Raelgil before
replying to Ellis, "I might have gotten tired of it being noisy in my
treasure room.... just possibly. Ok off you all go. Be careful, find the
missing team, explore the
Adal Ag Hamid: Well at least there were enough people chattering away that
him not talking might not stand out so much! Including objects. He eyed the
chatty person and the chatty sword, then looked to Wesh at his question and
tilted his head a
Tesarik One: keep if possible. You'll need to ask around at the Fryer Tuck
before you head off."
Adal Ag Hamid: bit, not seeing what that mattered. They had a leader! Unless
she gave orders that were completely horrid, he didn't mind abiding by them.
He looked to Raelgil a moment then, before he looked back to Maria and
grinned a little,
Tesarik One: "However much I decide based on what you've done," she replied
to Wesh, with a slight narrowing of her eyes, "You aren't even an official
member of the Heart, gypsy, so if I were you I'd be glad at whatever you get
from me."
Adal Ag Hamid: though the veil hid it apart from at the corners of his eyes,
and he signed again. "Hopefully I won't be the only one with good questions
to ask."
SwordOfAtrophy: "You got it. We'll be back.. in.. as close to the same
condition as we leave." Then he and the chatty mchatterson sword were off
through the portal to parts unknown, well, that wasn't true as they knew
exactly where they were going.
RageofNocturne: :: He looked to Raelgil then nodded-- So the paladin is the
leader....i can live with that... --he said then looked to Maria and heard
the name of the inn and stepped a bit ways then stopped and looked to
Raelgil-- Im going to check
RageofNocturne: out this inn, hopefully some will have a loose tongue to my
questions.-D-
abenedictionhymn: She headed over to Ellis and gave him a little tap to his
ear playfully, and then moved over to the veiled Adal and nudged his
shoulder, "Hey."
Tales0fBeauty: She looked to everyone and gave a frim nod "Alright lets go
find out what we can from the fyer tuck inn, i think it is wise that those
with diplomacy ask questions when we get there agreed?" (D)
Mighty Gar thog: ~He thought he was, since he had acquired a ring and the
pin item, to use. He loved all the extras she seemed to give~
Adal Ag Hamid: He'd arrived in a bit of a rush, so he took the time while
heading out to pull out his handwraps and get his hands all wrapped up and
ready for fightin in case it was needed, smiling at the feel of the holy
energy running through
Adal Ag Hamid: him. He looked to Viola and smiled all the more, offering a
nod in response to her greeting. Did she understand his signing? He couldn't
remember who did and did not!
Tesarik One: She only gave those items to members of the Heart, it specified
that in the newsletter! So if he had them, he stole 'em!
Tesarik Five: Typical gypsy with the stealing!
Adal Ag Hamid: Thieving gypsies? Somewhere, once again, Baldur got angry for
no reason.
abenedictionhymn: She unfortunately did not speak sign language.
Mighty Gar thog: ~He would follow behind Raelgil, thinking he would try to
act as a guard to the leader this eve. That rarely fails!~
SwordOfAtrophy: Though a 'hi' sign gesture would probably be pretty
universal, no?
Tesarik Five: ANYWHO! With all that sorted out Warren just sort of fluttered
about. He'd already of gone through the portal, being sneaky, and darting
past Maria before she had the chance to say anything. So he was just sort of
waiting for the
Tesarik One: So, through the portal they went, into the main area of the
village. The Fryer Tuck Inn was located right across from the grassy area in
the midst of town. Even at this time of day (mid-day) there were people going
in and out, but
Tesarik One: not many. Only a handful of folks were inside the popular inn.
A grizzled old man with long white hair and beard stood behind the bar,
wiping some glasses.
Adal Ag Hamid: Of course! That's what the nod was for. He even gave her
shoulder a little pat and a squeeze, then it was through the portal! He
glanced up at the sky to see what the weather was doing in Bryony, and headed
towards the inn, stepping
Adal Ag Hamid: inside and grinning when he saw the man behind the bar. He
hadn't been to Bryony before, but if it had grizzled Santa tending bar, it
couldnt' be too bad. (brb)
Tesarik Five: others. Arms crossed at his chest, and as the others filed
though he smiled to them all and followed right on along with them.
abenedictionhymn: Viola was from Bryony, but from the big city of Shrine.
She hadn't even been to Tuckbury before, but she knew Bryonish! She headed to
the bar and slid her little rear end onto a stool and smiled at the keep,
speaking in Bryonish, "Good day, sir. Cup of tea, please?"
Mighty Gar thog: ~The snake tried to remain silent, hoping to go unnoticed
amongst people. Wesh stayed near the back, watching the people, hood down to
hide his face~
Tesarik One: He poured her a cup of black tea and slid it over, and glanced
to the others moving in as well. Odd group of people, enough to make him
raise a brow, "Must be a group of adventurers, they all have the same sorta
chaotic look about
Tesarik One: them. Where you all headed?"
Adal Ag Hamid: He gestured writing on his hand to the bartender. Hopefully
he'd get something to write on, and he wrote that he would also like a cup of
tea, and handed it back to the man. (brb for reals!)
Tesarik One: He spoke in common.
SwordOfAtrophy: He intended to offer to his services as an information
sniffer, but Viola beat him too it. Eh, she was better suited anyway, though
he could attempt to help, and he saddled next to her, but faced the other
way, maybe to find a
Tales0fBeauty: She would step through the portal with the others and kaldra
was right behind her he of course followed her everywhere unless commanded to
do otherwise, she would make her way to the inn and she would see the grizzly
old man and
Tesarik One: Adal got a cup of tea as well.
Tesarik Five: "A haunted keep!" Warren spoke up in a quick little cherp.
RageofNocturne: :: With the others he went and he would head inside and
looked around the place and at those whom were within the Inne and looked to
the man behind the bar-- We are heading to the haunted keep.. Might I come to
ask you a question? -
SwordOfAtrophy: waitress or something, someone who overhears things. Because
well, he was a kid, and women generally found him adorable and would tell him
things with a bit of prying.
abenedictionhymn: She sipped her tea, and smiled over at Ellis when he sat
beside her, then looked back to the man. Raelgil was in charge, so for now
she'd stay quiet.
RageofNocturne: -the bloodhound asked as he got out his notebook of
inquiry-D-
Tales0fBeauty: gave him a firm nod "We are looking for a group of missing
adventurers who came this way, you wouldnt happen to know anything about that
would you?" (D)
Tesarik One: Raelgil, John roll a Gather Info check. Add CHA.
OnlineHost: Tales0fBeauty rolled 1 20-sided die: 12
OnlineHost: RageofNocturne rolled 1 20-sided die: 6

RageofNocturne: +5 Investigator, +3 You're Shitting Me, +5 Notebook of

Mighty Gar thog: ~Seeing the one guy get a notebook out, he thought maybe he
should take his out, too, but simply petted his snake, instead~
Tesarik One: "Aye, the Keep. I’d not go there if I were you. There was a
bunch of people much like yourselves went up there not too long ago, must be
the missing adventurers you're looking for. An elf, a
Tesarik One: dwarf, couple of big guys with swords, a priest of Leaxo's, and
a real pretty mage lady. Nice people; said they had a treasure map, they
did, and they was going up there to get the treasure. Left, what
Tesarik One: was it, six days ago, wasn’t it? Never came back. Figured they
hit the jackpot and left by another way."
Tesarik One: He looked at John and raised a brow, "What sorta question you
want to ask me?"
RageofNocturne: :: He nodded as he listened and wrote all of the info down--
Well my question was sir. Had anything strange occured the night the other
team left here? Or was anything heard from the keep about what would have
possibly happened to t
abenedictionhymn: She was using her fingers to count how many the man named;
elf, dwarf, 2 fighters, priest and mage..6 folks. She continued to listen.
RageofNocturne: hem? For they never did return nor was word heard of them
since they made their trek there.--he spoke as he looked to the man waiting
to scribe down more information if the man had any to give-D-
Adal Ag Hamid: He sipped at his tea, lifting his veil up just enough to get
the sipping done, then set the cup down and closed his eyes, thinking a bit
and taking in the information being said.
Tesarik Five: "Oooo! What kind of treasure?" Well he didn't really expect
the man to know that, but he'd ask anyway! Fluttering on down to land on the
bar top he smiled wide. Then looking back to the others and their questions.
Did they really
Tesarik One: "Nothing I remember happening in town, not many go up by ways
of the haunted keep. It's all grown over, not a main road, no one lives out
that way. Just an old stone tower in the hills a few miles from here, kind of
a wilderness
Tesarik Five: have to ask all these things? The keep is where they wanted to
go, and they knew it! Though he didn't know anything about what Maria had
said of course.
Tesarik One: area you might so. Like I says it's haunted, so if they didn't
find the treasure the ghosts probably got 'em." He grinned a bit, then
shrugged. "Wouldn't catch anyone here in this town going to that blasted
keep. It was built by a
Tesarik One: former member of the Council of Wands, but it's been in ruins
for ages. Legend has it..." he leaned forward at this, voice going low, "..
after the lord of the castle went into an unexplained rage, he
Tesarik One: murdered his ENTIRE household. No wonder it's fuckin' haunted,
eh?" He leaned back and began to clean the glasses again, the pointed. "Just
take the main road south, turn on the first path to the right."
SwordOfAtrophy: "Question, if I may sir.."
Tesarik One: He grunted and nodded.
Tales0fBeauty: (amulet of teamwork in play +6 to damage, saves and spell
dcs)
abenedictionhymn: She wrinkled her nose, killing everyone in ones household
sounded pretty awful to her, what if there were children? She fidgeted a bit,
and finished drinking some of her tea then offered some to Ellis since she
was sure they'd be leaving soon. "Want a sip?"
SwordOfAtrophy: "Any of these adventurers look lightly armed? Maybe wearing
leather, or carrying knives?"
Mighty Gar thog: Did the owner ever die, be seen dead? ~he did not ask if he
could ask~
RageofNocturne: :: He nodded as he wrote down the words of the keeper then
looked to him-- Any other things you can think of about the Keep that we may
need to know? --he asked then looked to Ellis before his eyes shifted back to
the man-- And fina
Adal Ag Hamid: He opened his eyes again, then picked up his cup once more
and once again snuck it under his veil to have a drink.
RageofNocturne: lly....yes did the Lord ever die and can you describe what
the legend says he looked like per chance?-D-
Tesarik One: "Yeah..pretty sure most of them were wearing leather armor, two
had the swords, elf had a bow, dwarf... axe I think. Dwarf had some hefty
armor on him. Didn't really notice any knives but I wasn't taking stock in
what they owned."
SwordOfAtrophy: "Oh, thank you darlin." He took a sip from her cup, resting
a hand on her shoulder to reassure her restlessness. "More than helpful,
thank you sir."
Tesarik One: He paused and then shrugged, "Dunno what happened to the lord
of the keep, and as far as what he looked like, hell if I know. This was ages
ago. Some folks say they see a lady ghost up on the ramparts of the tower,
some say they see
Tesarik One: children playing about the hills. You'd best be heading there
before it gets dark though, I suppose. I'd sure hate to be up there come
twilight."
Tales0fBeauty: She was done with her questions but would let the others ask
whatever they thought was pertinent to the mission two heads were better then
one, and she had 6 allies, which was a good thing she would wait till the old
man behind the
Tales0fBeauty: bar was done answering all the questions asked and looked to
her allies "well if no one else has any other questions I think we best
follow his advice and head to the tower..." (D)
Mighty Gar thog: The crazy lord is the haunter. Bet he's not dead, just
crazy. The last adventurers, might be alive and trapped, dead, or teleported
elsewhere.
RageofNocturne: :: He nodded-- Well it was worth to ask. Thank you very much
sir, have a good night. --he said after writting all the information the man
had to give down then labeled it under Bryony Keep before he closed the
notebook and put it aw
Adal Ag Hamid: True, getting there before dark would be nice! He enjoyed the
sun. Of course he did, he would've left the desert ages ago if he didn't. He
finished off his tea, then settled his veil back into place and nodded his
thanks to the man.
RageofNocturne: ay-- I say we take a look at the hills around it first
before heading right on in but you are the leader Lady Raelgil. --he said and
nodded to her-D-
Adal Ag Hamid: He assumed that Maria would cover their tea tab, ha! Out he
went, stretching out a little to make sure he was all limbered up.
abenedictionhymn: She patted Ellis' hand when it rested on her shoulder, and
when all the questions were asked adn they were ready to go, she rose upwards
and brushed out her coat, then headed towards the door back out into the
sunlight. She smiled up at the warmth of the sun kissing her face and then
turned towards that road he'd said, heading south. "There's the road."
Tales0fBeauty: She would thank the old man and heading out with the others
down the road headed south. (D)
Adal Ag Hamid: Yep, on down the road it was for him as well!
Mighty Gar thog: ~As he followed behind Raelgil, he continued to speak~
Children could be kobolds or goblins, at a distance, too.
SwordOfAtrophy: "Double time then." "On the road again... I can't wait to
get on the road again..." "Please don't do that." Down the road they went,
eagle eyes looking for the turn off the man mentioned.
Tesarik One: It was about a half a mile out of the town before they found
that path. It looked barely used, overgrown, but it was passable. It's hilly
land, so it's difficult to see too far ahead of you and the road is winding.
Thick canopied
Tesarik One: trees only just now beginning to turn fall colors shade much of
the road. As they turn a corner though.....you all see lumps in the road
ahead. You're too far to make out exactly what they are, but it looks like
large bodies.
Tesarik Five: Welp, as the others started off done with their questions he
was right behind them. Leaping off the bar before flying right behind them.
Adal Ag Hamid: Bodies? Well obviously he'd be moving up to see what sorts of
bodies and what in the world was going on there.
abenedictionhymn: She was at the head of the line since she'd left first, so
she'd spot the lumps and give a sniff of the air. She pointed forward, so all
would notice if they hadn't, "Looks like something's happened ahead of us,

Tesarik Five: (Not sure if it's forest....But if it is, then Warren can't be
surprise attacked.)
Tesarik One: Adal had already moved towards the bodies!
Mighty Gar thog: Sounds fine by me.
Adal Ag Hamid: He was indeed moving towards the bodies.
Tesarik One: It's woodsy yes, hills mostly but woods in areas.
Tesarik One: Whoever moves ahead to scout out the bodies .....You see eight
dead orcs lying along the trail in a space of about fifty feet. To judge
from the condition of the bodies, they have been here about a
Tesarik One: week. Two of the orc bodies have arrows sticking out of them,
three others are hideously burned, and the other three appear to have died
from sword cuts. Just off to the side of the trail, there is a
Tesarik One: mound of dirt that appears to be a recently-dug grave. At one
end of the mound is a marker consisting of a roughly-cut log, about three
feet high, with a holy symbol of Leaxo attached to it.
Tales0fBeauty: She looked to viola and then looked ahead and then looked to
the wolf and noded "It would be good to see if it is a trap first but I
believe one of members has already strayed to far ahead." (D)
Tesarik One: Adal roll a Spot.
Adal Ag Hamid: Well hey, nobody had stopped him! He knelt down near the
first body he came to and gave it a quick examination, but it did seem they
were dead for quite a while.

trees. Giving a little giggle at one more he then blinked, hearing about
bodies he flew back
RageofNocturne: :: Well...--ahh well nevermind. --he said since the other

Adal Ag Hamid: He moved amongst the bodies, checking them out, then turned
back towards the group and signed. Does aaaanyone have commonsign or was he
signing to nobody?
Mighty Gar thog: ~Wesh moved over to the grass, leaning down, whispering to
it ~ What specicies is buried here? (Animism)
Tesarik One: I don't know what Wesh is asking, clarify.
SwordOfAtrophy: "Far too quiet, though it could just be... well, maybe we
should have brought an interpretor." He'd take the chance and move forward to
join Adal amidst the dead.
Tales0fBeauty: She would smile seeing the fae land on her shoulder and she
would lift her hand to pat him lightly on the head with her index finger,
there were only a few that could make the zorcan smile and the fae were one
of them. Those
Mighty Gar thog: (You said there was a buried spot with a tombstone. asking

Adal Ag Hamid: He let out a small sigh, then cleared his throat. "It would
seem these orcs ambushed the previous adventuring group, and likely killed
one of their number..." Said in his heavily accented common with a point at
the fresh grave. "And
Adal Ag Hamid: then were driven off back into the woods."
Tesarik One: (Oh ok I wasn't sure what specicies meant)
Tesarik Five: He patted Raegil on the side of her head, as he was there on
her shoulder, before he pointed off to the side. "There are more dead orcs
over there." They would of course be further in the forest.
RageofNocturne: :: He stood back up-- Nothing but animals around us. --he
said and nodded to the others-D-
Adal Ag Hamid: So hey, anyone who had previously seen him in disguise might
well recognize the voice at least!
Tales0fBeauty: silvery hues would scan the area "this looks like an
encounter our missing group of adventurers had with some orcs and it looks
like they lost a memeber of their team and buried them there" she said
pointing to the grave that was
Mighty Gar thog: (lol typo)
Tales0fBeauty: dug marked with the holy symbol for Leaxo. (D)
Mighty Gar thog: Well, ~he rose back to his feet~ A human is buried here,
killed by the orcs, I'd say, buried by their bad priest.
Tesarik One: Anyone want to roll an Insight?
SwordOfAtrophy: "Does fit with the timeline, but I can't imagine the
remaining Orcs are still lurking nearby, so it should be relatively safe for
now." "The other group left us a few breadcrumbs looks like." "At a price.."
He looked further up the

the priest. He is buried here.
abenedictionhymn: "Bad priest? Now how in the name of the heavens would you
already condemn their poor priest to being bad? Who are you to judge?" She
wrinkled her nose, she already didn't like that fellow. He was rude,
condescending and just not nice to be around. "Anyway, it's the priest that
is dead. That symbol is probably what he wore."
abenedictionhymn: She looked towards Raelgil, and waited for her to make a
decision on what to do next.
RageofNocturne: :: He looked at the grave then sniffed around it and looked
at the symbol then shook his head-- No....it was the priest that died, most
likely the symbol he wore is what is carved on the wood. So that would leave
5 others that went
RageofNocturne: to the Keep.-D-
Tesarik One: It's not carved on the wood, it's attached to it.
RageofNocturne: ohh)
SwordOfAtrophy: "That doesn't bode well for them, to lose the one with
healing arts to an Orc ambush."
Adal Ag Hamid: He shook his head a little, then made a note to come back and
properly dispose of the orcs' remains once they were done. He wasn't
comfortable with anyone just being left to rot, though he also wasn't sure
what orcs tended to do
abenedictionhymn: "No, it doesn't."
Tales0fBeauty: She would nod hearing the others "It is sad they lost a

with our quest, we are in search of 5 missing adventurers now, stay alert and
keep an eye out for
Tales0fBeauty: anything..." (D)
Adal Ag Hamid: with their dead. At any rate, it'd be something to deal with
later. "The priest was not necessarily the only one with the ability to
heal." He could heal, after all! And he was no priest. He shut up again for
now then, having talked
Adal Ag Hamid: more in the last ten minutes than he had in the last month!
Mighty Gar thog: (investigator +5, Beholder +5, btw)
abenedictionhymn: "So, moving on?" She nodded and turned, heading along the
path again. She was looking about, left to right and ahead because now she
was a little nervous about orc ambushes!
Tesarik One: After about a mile and a half, you spot the keep.
SwordOfAtrophy: "Only? No. But they train in it exclusively. Kinda why
they're around."
Adal Ag Hamid: That..depended entirely on the priest!
Tesarik One: The Keep is a large stone tower that appears to be five stories
high, sitting on top of a low hill. There appears to have been a wall around
it once, long ago, but the only evidence of that is a low,
Mighty Gar thog: ~He was in a daze, for a brief time, then looked at the

Tesarik One: irregular mound covered in vines and weeds. The Keep itself is
intact. In the wall facing you, there is a large double door at ground
level, which is partway open. In the level above it, there is
Tesarik One: a row of arrow slits. Above that are a row of larger windows,
evenly spaced. The fourth level has a group of three stained glass windows
in the center.
SwordOfAtrophy: Stop ruining my point with your silly details!
Tesarik One: You all catch the faint smell of rotting flesh as the breeze
blows towards you.
Adal Ag Hamid: Oh, that lovely smell of rotting flesh, splendid. He wrinkled
his nose and eyed the keep a good bit.
Tales0fBeauty: She would take the lead and moved back on the path after
stepping around the dead bodies. She would wait for the others to follow then
spotted the keep and then she wrinkled her nose as she sniffed the air and
caught the scent of
Tales0fBeauty: death she moved more slowly and cautiously "Be on your gaurd
something is not right here." (D)
abenedictionhymn: "Eww, something's dead... ghosts don't usually smell like
that do they?" She moved along with the group, glancing to make sure that
Adal was near, and Ellis was near.
Adal Ag Hamid: He shook his head in response to that question. No ghost he'd
ever met had smelled like that! He was near! Had to stick near the other
person who could beat people up with style, after all! Even if she used
weapons, ha!
abenedictionhymn: "It appears the door is opened," she pointed, and paused
at the area where there was once a wall.
SwordOfAtrophy: "No.. but I can think of a few things that are just as
dangerous that do." He tended to stay pretty close to Vi as a rule, not much
caring what anyone thought or assumed by that. "Beginning the list.. Zom.."
"No, no list."
Mighty Gar thog: ~He stopped at the orc bodies, and searched them for
anything interesting~
Tesarik Five: He rode nice and easy on his elf friends shoulder. Though when
the smell of rotting flesh hit his nose his nose scrunched up and he shook
his head. "Ewwww. I don't like that stinky smell!" He huffed before covering
his face with his
Tesarik One: There was nothing of interest on the orc bodies, any weapons
weren't even usable.
Adal Ag Hamid: Well, they wouldn't find anybody that needed rescuing by
hanging around outside, now would they? So he headed towards the door to have
a peek in since it was open.
Tesarik Five: hands to try and keep that smell out the best that he could.
Adal Ag Hamid: Was Wesh a mile and a half back???
Mighty Gar thog: ~He was fast, so would catch up~
Tesarik One: Apparently so. So, all of you have the map I sent via email.
There are two maps, we are using the first one right now with the five round
rooms. So please make it clear what room you are attempting to go into when
you post.
Tesarik One: Use the level and alphabet so on level 1 room A would be 1A.
SwordOfAtrophy: (assumed it's dark in there?)
Adal Ag Hamid: Well it seemd 1A was where the door was, so into 1A it was!
Assuming nothing leapt out at him.
RageofNocturne: :: He walked with the group and looked around then at the
doors and tilted his head then shook his head and snorted at the smell of
rotten flesh-- Ahh....that smell...i fear the worst befell the other
adventurers. --he said and look
Tesarik One: 1A has enough light coming in through the door to see in low
light. It is the entrance hall to the keep, and decorated with the remains of
once-fine tapestries. At the other end of the room is a set of double iron
doors, which are
RageofNocturne: around then went over to room 1D and reached for the handle
to open it-D-
Tesarik One: part-way open. It is dark beyond those doors into 1B.
Tales0fBeauty: She would follow adal into the room 1
Tesarik One: Ok folks please look at the map. You are in A. The only way you
can go is into B.
SwordOfAtrophy: "Now, now, no jumping to conclusions.. all the dead tend to
smell the same when they're rotting away." Sword was drawn, and the crimson
claws lit it up to provide light.
Tesarik One: Everyone except Wesh make a Spot in 1A.
Adal Ag Hamid: Well apart from some ruined tapestries, there didn't seem to
be much in here. Maybe!

RageofNocturne: en went for room 1D-D-
Adal Ag Hamid: He had his own moonglobe flashlight as well, which he stuck
onto the strap of his backpack and turned on to give him some light.
Tesarik Five: Well Warren couldn't see nothing now, but at least he didn't
have to worry about that, as he could just ride on his friends shoulder the

Tesarik One: 1D - Old Storeroom
Mighty Gar thog: ~Wesh finally caught up, after checking out the dead orcs.
Never know when something might be hidden on a body, so he took the rear spot
of the group~
Tesarik One: There are barrels and crates strewn about. Whatever was in them
has long ago rotted away. There is the scurrying of rats when John enters the
area.
Tesarik One: 1C - Weapon Room
Tesarik One: There are racks on the walls that may have once held weapons.
There is unrecognizable trash on the floor. There is a door in the left wall
that leads outside.
SwordOfAtrophy: He had a sword that was on fire. "This should be good enough
darlin, but thanks." "I'll alert him if your boytoy is going to get himself
hurt cutie." "You will not and you know it."
RageofNocturne: :: Seems like an old storage room here... Nothing
else....wait i think theres a door. --he said and went over using his
darkvision still and grabbed the handle and tried to open it into room 1F-D-
abenedictionhymn: She nodded, and snickered hearing the sword. "Annoying
twit," she said sorta affectionately and then began to explore the area with
the others.
Adal Ag Hamid: Well..he'd tried to indicate to her that they'd lost someone,
but then he'd shown back up, apparently. He eyed Wesh warily, then gestured
something to Raelgil to indicate that she ought to keep the group together a
bit better, being
Tesarik One: It's another old storeroom, yet again you hear rats and just
see old crates and barrels.
SwordOfAtrophy: He'd follow John, since the man was rushing ahead to
explore, he may end up needing backup.
Adal Ag Hamid: the leader! Gesturing ideas was more difficult than signing,
but perhaps easier to understand.
Tales0fBeauty: She would be with the other using her brilliance/light embued
melee harded bow weapon to see her way through things "I think it would be
wise if we expolered together after all death was the first thing we smelled
upon entering the
abenedictionhymn: She was trying to keep up with Raelgil but as yet she
wasn't really offering much in the way of direction, and everyone was doing
their own thing as they always did. She shrugged and moved into 1C, to check
the door into 1E.
Mighty Gar thog: ~He was at the back of the group, simply looking around,
trying to figure out where the wind blew from, since the bodies should be in
that direction~
RageofNocturne: :: Nothing in there either. --he said and shook his head--
Just rats and more rats. --he said and then went back for room 1B-- Nothing
but storerooms there. --he said and pointed behind himself-D-
Tesarik One: The wind had blown from the direction of the tower keep, so yes
the bodies were probably in the tower!
Adal Ag Hamid: Well it seemed 1e was the room that hadn't been peeked at
yet, so he'd move to that door along with Viola.
Tales0fBeauty: place...." she would have made her way 1E where adal and
viola were.
Tesarik One: 1E - There is a table and a few old chairs in the middle of the
room, and unrecognizable trash on the floor. All in all, the first floor of
this keep was probably the one most people at the very least explored so
there was nothing
Tesarik One: but trash and rats.
SwordOfAtrophy: "Doesn't smell like death over there either, so I think we
can rule out them being over there." He'd check the door in 1B that lead to
the stairs, but wait for everyone before heading up.
Tesarik One: There is a spiral staircase that leads up and down through that
narrow door out of 1B.
Adal Ag Hamid: Trash and rats! Well then...seemed it was too the stairs,
though he'd wait to see if everyone gathered up, at least, before heading up
them.
Mighty Gar thog: Well, shall we go to the tower, to find the bosdies?
Tales0fBeauty: "Ok this is how we need to do things on the next level we all
need to decide as a group which direction to go and move as a unit unless you
all want to suffer the same fate as the ones who died here. I think this is
fairly empty we
Tesarik One: That door was opened a bit that Ellis checked.
Adal Ag Hamid: Wait, there was an up and a down?
Tesarik One: Wesh, you are all in the tower already.
Tales0fBeauty: should move on to the next level." (D)
Tesarik One: Yes, up and down.
SwordOfAtrophy: "Sure, Rael. So, up or down?"
Tesarik One: Wesh, check your map. You are in level 1 on the map.
Adal Ag Hamid: He held up a finger for a moment to Rael, then sat down and
closed his eyes, concentrating a moment. Or meditating, rather.
Adal Ag Hamid: Skill: Augury!
Mighty Gar thog: I'd say, the scent rises, so we should go down.
Tales0fBeauty: "We should take a vote who wants to go up and who wants to go
down, all in favor of going up say aye" (D)
SwordOfAtrophy: "Wind doesn't care what level a smell is, it just carries
it."
Tales0fBeauty: She looked to adal and noded "We will wait and see what he
finds out first."
Adal Ag Hamid: Sometimes the gods were maddeningly unhelpful. Blessed Ruth
could be too vague for her own good sometime! He opened his eyes and stood
up, then shrugged.
SwordOfAtrophy: "We know there's a few levels above us, but chances are
there's only one below. Eliminate the bottom first?"
Adal Ag Hamid: Though after a moment of thought, he decided to speak again.
"Well...now that I re-interpret what I saw, up will lead us to the missing
people."
Mighty Gar thog: ~He nodded, then looked at the way down~ I think down is
best.
Tales0fBeauty: She noded seeing adal shrug and looked to the others
"everyone in agreement we go down then?" (D)
Tesarik One: So Raelgil, as leader, you choose.
Tesarik Five: He leaned over a little, he didn't mind going up or down, in
truth, but he was there. "What if it's a upside down tower?" Just because he
was silly like that, and would probably build a tower that way for the
laughs.
Mighty Gar thog: Oh. ~he mumbled., seems he was totally off this day!~
Tesarik One: Up leads to missing people, down to....who knows.
Adal Ag Hamid: "Though both paths lead to something. Up will take us to the
missing people for sure, however." Nod.
SwordOfAtrophy: "The adventurers take priority, I think?"
Adal Ag Hamid: He nodded. That was how he felt, anyway.
abenedictionhymn: "I agree, let's find the adventurers first and then we can
handle anything else that needs handled. But, Raelgil is the leader so
whichever way she says, we'll go. Which way, Raelgil?"
Tales0fBeauty: "yes i agree, we should go up, and seek the missing
adventurers first and if we are able we can explore down later." (D)
RageofNocturne: :: He shrugged and waited for their leader to decide which
way they went then when she did he nodded-- Up it is then it seems.-D-
Adal Ag Hamid: Well that settled it! Up the stairs it was, to have a moment
of zoning out. (brb)
Tesarik One: So up! As you begin to move up the winding staircase.... you
notice burn marks on the wall about five or six steps up.... then
Mighty Gar thog: Could be they got trapped up there by whats below...
Tesarik One: you see the feet of what appears to be a dead body just above
that.
Tesarik One: In the faint light from the arrow slit on the outer wall, as
well as any light sources you all bring with you (or darkvision) you find the
dead body of a dwarf face down on the stairs about halfway between the first
and second
Mighty Gar thog: These adventurers were either greedy or stupid. To continue
after treasure, when losing one after another.
Tesarik One: level. The dwarf has been burned beyond any recognition, and
there are scorch marks on the wall above where he lies. The dwarf's clothing,
leather armor and equipment are burned so badly they are useless.
Tesarik Five: "Aww. The stubby hairy fellow...Poor guy." He tilted his head
a little and gave the dwarf a slightly longer look before he darted out one
of the arrow slits, flying away far and high enough to get some fresh air! Oh

good shape but would need to be repaired-- Sorry....but this wont be of any
use to you anymore.
Tesarik One: Info sent via IM if you got any.
Adal Ag Hamid: Poor dwarf. He knelt down near its corpse and offered up a
prayer of his own, probably why he didn't notice anything else.

abenedictionhymn: She stood off to the side, staring at the dwarf's body,
then to the walls, and then back to the dwarf. She glanced to Ellis and
leaned over to speak low to him, "I think something came up from behind and
the poor dwarf took the brunt since he was bringing up the rear...what do you
think?"
SwordOfAtrophy: "Definitely hit from behind and they fled up. He didn't seem
to stand a chance."
abenedictionhymn: "I don't think it's stupid to run for your lives when
something is coming up behind you in a small staircase. What could they do,
squeeze through the arrow slits?" She shook her head, and moved on up onto
the second floor, quite wary now.
Tales0fBeauty: "onward! we better watch our backs too!" she would say and
stepped carefully over the dwarf and continued to head up the stairs to the
second floor. (D)
Tesarik One: So up into 2B, another short hallway with doors at either end,
and a door across into D.
Tesarik Five: "Behind?" Blink blink. Then flying toward the rear of the
group he placed his hands on his hips and he puffed out his chest, eyes
narrowed while he stood in mid air as proud, strong, and intimidating as he
could look. "Nothings
Tesarik Five: going to burn our booties!" Nope! Not when he was on watch!
SwordOfAtrophy: Onward and upward. "You know, if I didn't know Warren, I
might have laughed at that. Now I just feel sorry for anyone trying to sneak
up on us."
Mighty Gar thog: Could not have been a large creature, it would not fit
inside.
Tesarik One: C, D, E. None of the doors are locked, but the doors are all
closed. It's pretty obvious the group went running up higher and did not go
into this floor.
Tesarik Five: Well Warren wasn't going to try flying backwards, while it
wasn't hard to do, it never seemed a good idea indoors. So instead he found
his perch on the shoulder of the person who was currently at the back of the
group, but he kept
RageofNocturne: :: He nodded and followed Raelgil up to the second floor and
looked around through the darkness and at the door to 2E and looked to
Raelgil-- I say we check the side rooms before the room ahead. --he said and

nothing could sneak up on them, as best he could at least. And anytime
someone would get behind him, well he just shoulder hopped right to theirs.

oven against the outer wall between the arrow slits. There are also wall
racks which might have held weapons at one time.
Adal Ag Hamid: He looked to the doors, seeing them all closed and reasoned
as well that the adventurers didn't go this way. Well...he was going to keep
heading up, since there could be someone still alive and in need of help! But
it seemed someone
Tales0fBeauty: She would give the wolf a nod "agreed we should check the
side rooms first" (D)
Adal Ag Hamid: wanted to check this one out. He'd just wait by the stairs,
glancing up them

weapons. Anyone who enters 1C roll a Search.
SwordOfAtrophy: "Just remember.." He pointed across to the door to 2D.
"There's a hatch in the middle of the floor there, since by my guess that's
above where we came in." He himself would wait near the stairs, to watch
their hindsides.
abenedictionhymn: So check the siderooms she said, so she went over to 2C
and opened the door quickly, using her foot to push it all the way. She
peered in, then stepped in and began to move around looking under the beds,
and anywhere else. Even in the old brick oven.

OnlineHost: RageofNocturne rolled 1 20-sided die: 19
abenedictionhymn: Viola, you find a scroll case hidden in the brick oven.
It's blackened on the outside, but apparently made of some metal that would
not melt. It's very old.
RageofNocturne: +5 +3= 27)
Tesarik One: Wesh, you find a stash of 50gp in a ratty old bag buried in the
rotted mattress.
Tesarik One: John, you find a loose brick in the wall and behind it is a
stash of 3 gemstones with runes carved into them.
SwordOfAtrophy: He'd notice Adals apprehension. "If they were fighting, we'd
hear it. Don't worry, if they're up there and alive, they aren't in danger."
abenedictionhymn: She tucked the scroll case away, it was filthy and would
need cleaned probably before she'd ever be able to get it open. She headed
back out to the hallway and wiped her hands on her coat.
RageofNocturne: :: He noticed one brick that seemed.....wrong and went over
pulling it out and blinked-- Hmm... --he then reached in to get what he had
found and then looked at the gemstones-D-
Adal Ag Hamid: He frowned at that, then looked to Ellis. "Wounded people can
die very, very slowly. I still feel that time is of the essence here."
Tesarik One: Once you all get finished, you can go into 2D - This room is
empty except for some trash in the corners, and rats. There is a hatch in the
middle of the floor. Anyone who opens it, will see down into 1A in the floor
below. It is a
Tesarik One: 'murder hole' used to protect the keep by raining arrows down,
dropping boiling oil or such.
Mighty Gar thog: Raelgil? Are we trying to be extra silent in here for a
reason?
abenedictionhymn: She peeked into room D, and when she saw it was mostly
empty she headed in and opened up the hatch, to peer down into the room. She
closed it, and rose again, then walked around the room before moving to the
stairs ready to head upwards again.
Tales0fBeauty: "Ok lets keep moving we need to find these adventurers!" she
would say and headed up the stairs to the next level. (D)
Tesarik One: Level 3
RageofNocturne: :: He looked around once more then stepped out and went to
room D to have a look around then turned and looked to the stairs and would
follow up them-D-
Tesarik Five: With the others searching rooms and such Warren stayed at the
door to the stairs, Eyes darting from down, then up, keeping an eye on things
to make sure nothing could sneak up on them. No sneaky stuff with him.
Adal Ag Hamid: Yay they were gonna head up the stiars again. He was antsy,
so he headed on up. Perhaps when they got to the right floor he'd recognize
something from his augury.
Tesarik One: The door to this level is closed. There are scorch marks along
the wall.
SwordOfAtrophy: "It followed them this far, maybe they managed to trap it
outside this door."
Tesarik One: Room 3B is what the door opens into. This is a large chamber
with two doors along the right wall, two on the left, and one at the other
end.
Adal Ag Hamid: Did the scorch marks keep going up or were they just around
this door?
OnlineHost: Aislan Liam has left the room.
Mighty Gar thog: Which means whatever it was will likely come up behind us,
soon.
Tesarik One: Going up.
Adal Ag Hamid: Well then this was another floor he didn't have much interest
in exploring. He'd take a couple steps up to indicate that, then wait.
SwordOfAtrophy: "Keep going then is my estimation, we can search later."
Tesarik One: C, E, F, G are all old bedrooms. The furniture is deteriorated
and covered in mildew. In Room 3E, there are two skeletons of children in a
corner, huddled together, their skeletal arms wrapped around each other.
Tesarik One: 3D is simply a latrine with a toilet that opens to the outside
against the wall in a corner.
Tesarik One: Moving up yes?
Tales0fBeauty: "I think we should keep going up"
Adal Ag Hamid: Up he went!
Tesarik One: Ok so disregard what I said about that floor!
SwordOfAtrophy: But.. but the feels in 3E ; ;
Tesarik One: So up to Level 4... the door to this level is closed, and on
the landing is the corpse of an elf. The elf appears to be recently
dismembered and partially eaten.
Tesarik One: The elf's bow is broken, but there is a longsword and three
arrows intact easily visible by the poor elf's rotten, eaten body.
SwordOfAtrophy: "So not only does it incinerate things, it eats them too..."
"Dragon..."
Tales0fBeauty: She would see the corpse of the elf and rumaged through her
mind the discription of the adventureres they were looking for "i think this
is the elf we are searching for, we are down to 3 adventurers to find now."
(D)
Adal Ag Hamid: He frowned upon finding the elf's corpse and crouched down to
offer up a prayer for the poor thing as well. How did the sword think a
dragon would fit in here to be eating? He looked to Raelgil to see if she
thought they should head
Tesarik Five: Ewwwwwwwwwwww! Elf weren't for eating! He tilted his head some
and saw the arrows. He almost wanted to get them, but then there was dead elf
attached to them, so nope! He'd leave them alone. "Dragons are to big."
Adal Ag Hamid: up the rest of the way and just work their way down, or stay
here.
RageofNocturne: :: He looked over the elf's body then looked to the weapons
and well he went and picked up the arrows and looked them over then looked at
the sword-- Anyone require a new sword? It wont be serving him very much
anymore...--he said a
RageofNocturne: nd picked it up-D-
abenedictionhymn: "I think they are all dead.... it's been a week. They
would have escaped wouldn't they?" She frowned and stepped over the elf's
body, and noticed it looked like it had been eaten. She shivered a bit.
SwordOfAtrophy: "Dragons don't come out of eggs as big as castles, jeez.."
abenedictionhymn: She snickered, "True, they are small when they are born. A
juvenile dragon could certainly fit up these stairs."
abenedictionhymn: She shook her head, she didn't need the sword or the
arrows.
Adal Ag Hamid: "If the entire group was killed by a juvenile dragon, why
were they adventurers in the first place?"
SwordOfAtrophy: "Adal? Does this look familiar or do we keep going?"
Tales0fBeauty: She said a quick prayer for the elf and continued on up
"Onward we must press on and see if anyone survived." she would continue to
go up. (D)
Adal Ag Hamid: "None of it really looks familiar, it's just a feeling I get.
I think upwards is where we need to go, though." Nod, and then up.
SwordOfAtrophy: "Someone clearly misunderestimates a fire breathing lizard
thats eight feet long and can snap all your bones in a bite."
Adal Ag Hamid: Mostly because he'd fought a giant undead dragon and didn't
die.
Tesarik One: Ok! Level 5 - This is the top of the spiral staircase. The door
is open.
Tesarik Five: "Just poke them in the face with sharp things!" Warrens way to
deal with all things.
Adal Ag Hamid: Well then it was through the door for him! Looking around
briefly to see what there was to see.
RageofNocturne: :: He shrugged then slid the sword into his belt and put the
arrows in his bag with the axe head and his gems and well would follow
them-D-
Tesarik One: 5B This is a small chamber that has doors out of it to the left
and right. on the far wall is a ladder leading to a roof hatch, which is
closed. The door on the right is open, but as soon as the first person steps
into 5B two ghouls
Mighty Gar thog: Might be a chimera type creature. Many things breath fire,
don't recall which ones do.

SwordOfAtrophy: Indoctrination is a hell of a drug.
Tesarik One: So Room 5D is closed, and will not open with ease. You will

SwordOfAtrophy: He stepped over to the door to 5D, and knocked on it. "Hey,
we're a group from the heart, let us know if you're alive in there..."
abenedictionhymn: She stepped into the room and looked around, then at the
painting on the wall with the children. She moved about, looking to see if
anything of interest was in the room besides the other human fighter's body
and then moved to the closed door to lean an ear against it to listen.
