sable discord: Raufak had agreed to go with Alluvia to hunt some certain
herbs that grew north of Navahla in the hilly forests. Salvia, and mullein to
be exact and anything else she could find that would go well in her mixture
of herbs for
sable discord: smoking. They'd started out early morning heading out of the
city and after several hours of walking, had taken a lunch break. Soon
enough, they'd started their walking again, following a winding path through
thick overgrown forests
sable discord: with a slight hilly landscape. (Begin RP)
Raufak Agnarsson: Herbs, yep! He knew a thing or two about herbs, but it
wasn't one of his specialties. Probably shouldn't trust him to find them
alone, but that's why she was with him, now wasn't it? He had his borrowed
armor on, sword on his back
Raufak Agnarsson: to go with it, and he was trying to keep his senses alert
for any trouble. He figured she probably knew where she was going better than
he would, after all!
sable discord: She did have an old map that every now and again she'd open
up, stare at, then fold again but this was her first foray in this area so
she didn't know where she was going either! But white sage, the type of
salvia she was looking
Raufak Agnarsson: (Oh snap, I forgot the init penalty for my armor! My init
would be 11, but still first. :) )
sable discord: for was pretty prolific so it wouldn't be too hard for them
to find it. She stayed on the road for the most part, every now and then
darting into the vegetation to sniff and look around, then come back to the
road with a dejected
sable discord: look and a shake of her head to Raufak. She didn't even
bother looking for a while, figuring they needed to get a wee bit further
towards the hills. "We may need to make camp for tonight and head back to the
city in the morning, as
sable discord: far as we are needing to head away from the city. Is that a
problem?"
Raufak Agnarsson: "Not a problem for me if it's not a problem to you." He
sent her a little smile. "We'll find it though, no need to look so sad about
it! And if we do end up having to camp for the night, then that's just all
the more excitement to
Raufak Agnarsson: be had, no?" He was ever the optimist! "I find it rather
fun to be out here anyway."
sable discord: "Nope, no problem for me, I like it out here too. I'm sure
we'll find it... though we probably need to get off the beaten track." She
paused, glanced one way then the other, and then stepped off the road and
pushed back some of the
sable discord: bushes so he could follow her.
Raufak Agnarsson: He nodded. "Good! We can make an even longer adventure out
of it than we had planned, then." He liked that idea! He moved off the road
after she did. "Thank you." He did appreciate her ushing the bushes back for
him! He'd probably
Raufak Agnarsson: just end up having to hack through them if left to his own
devices!
sable discord: She began to move through the vegetation, he might notice
that she moved so gently through the forest that she didn't even make any
noise. No crackling fallen leaves, no snapping of limbs as she moved past,
she was swift and silent
sable discord: as she moved along. (Silent Tracker). Every now and again,
she'd kneel near some low flowering bushes, and check them out closely.
Raufak Agnarsson: Well hopefully she didn't mind him lumbering along all
noisily, because he was making enough noise for the both of them! He tried
not to, he just wasn't very good at it, especially with all that armor on. At
least he wasn't trying
Raufak Agnarsson: to sing loudly while they travelled along. He stopped when
she did and eyed the bushes she was looking at, but mostly used those times
to look around for threats!
sable discord: Well it was a good thing they weren't needing to be quiet
then! She grinned back at him and even gave him a wink, then moved ahead
again. She had strung her bow a while back, just in case it was needed for
anything ..like finding
sable discord: dinner! She yelped happily, and one would think she'd found
something amazing but when Raufak got close enough he'd see she'd found a
blackberry bush overladen with juicy black berries. Lu's fingers and lips
were already stained
sable discord: from the few she'd started to eat. "Mmm." She handed a
handful of berries to him.

Raufak Agnarsson: He was too busy hurrying over with a clatter and seeing
what she'd found, then taking berries and chomping on some to notice much
else! He did pull a face after chewing on those berries a bit, though. "Hm.
Not much to my liking, I'm
Raufak Agnarsson: afraid. Probably my orc side coming out more. Thanks
though!" He shrugged.
sable discord: "Not sweet enough for ya?" She grinned, and got a little
pouch from her pack and filled it with berries, and tied it to her hip so
they wouldn't get crushed. "What's that orc side of you like to eat?" She
tilted her head as she
sable discord: looked around, then pointed, "I think there must be a stream,
I hear water."
Raufak Agnarsson: "Too sweet, and not...meat-like enough, I guess." He did
just eat a lot of meat, for the most part! Although in that respect, he was
not the slightest bit picky about what sorta meat he ate! "Although I like
taters, too." He looked
Raufak Agnarsson: to where she was pointing and nodded after a moment. "Mm,
I think I hear that, yeah. Should we go have a look?"
sable discord: "Yeah." She licked her fingers of the berry juice and started
to head that way, pushing the vegetation aside and holding it when she could
for Raufak to pass easier. "Father Wild must love it here. It's beautiful."
She glanced
sable discord: upwards along the tree trunks, the sun was dappled as it hit
the loamy floor and it was shaded enough to be pleasant.
sable discord: Soon enough they came to the creek. Due to the hilly nature
of the area, it had dug through the ground to form a sort of ravine and the
creek was at the bottom. They could climb down into the stream and then climb
up the other side,
sable discord: OR there was a large fallen log on their side of the creek,
that could be put across the small ravine for them to walk across.
sable discord: Log requires a STR check to move.
Raufak Agnarsson: He followed along. Did he know who Father Wild was? Maybe!
Anyway, and then it was to the creek with them. He looked to the stream and
wrinkled his nose upon the idea of climbing into it. "I dunno how deep that
is, and I don't want
Raufak Agnarsson: to find out by sinking to the bottom!" Sometimes things
looked a lot less deep than they actually were, after all. So he moved over
to the log, then set about doing just that, to move it into position as a
makeshift bridge!

sable discord: You easily get the log in place. As far as Father Wild goes,
you aren't quite sure who he is, though you do know he must be some sort of
deity of the wild. Cause, well that's just logical.
sable discord: She peered down to the creek, she was afraid of water - but
deep water, she took baths and such! But when he mentioned it might be deeper
than it looked, she was very happy he was a big strong fella and could move a
log across for
sable discord: them. "Nor do I. You being all big and strong is kinda sexy."
She grinned, and when it was in place she began to make her way across.

carefully.

sable discord: Lu sees what she has come for, a large area of low lying
bushes of the salvia type, white sage to be exact.
sable discord: "Ahh! Rauf!" She quickly made her way towards the bush, and
pulled her pack around so she could start picking the leaves and flowers. It
had a mint-like scent to it as she began to pick them. "This will work
nicely. I'll need to
sable discord: find some other herbs to add into the blend, I don't like it
just plain white sage, too strong. But this is nice and healthy, and this'll
be just fine for our little trip today."
Raufak Agnarsson: He got across without falling in, hurray! He hopped off
the log and onto the ground, didn't see much of anything, but she took off
again, so he followed! He looked at the stuff and crouched down, nodding a
little. "Ahh, I see. I'll
Raufak Agnarsson: remember what it looks like and if I spot any more, I'll
get it for ya." In fact, he reached into his pack and pulled out parchment
and his pen to do a little sketch of it so he could make sure to not forget
what it looked like!
sable discord: "The other one that'll probably be in the vicinity is
mullein, it's got a tall stalk with five petaled yellow flowers on it." She
smiled as he did a little sketch, the flowers were actually kind of unique
and pretty, not just your
sable discord: normal petalled flowers. She had a small knife and was
cutting the stems, so she could dry it while on the stems.
sable discord: And while they were busy picking flowers, and drawing, there
was a thud nearby and then a second thud as two creatures dropped from high
limbs down to the ground. When they turned at the sound, they'd see
sable discord: two odd creatures, humanoid in shape, but their bodies jutted
out with many small metal blades. Ferocious looking creatures, with yellow
sharp teeth, and one of them had a big great falchion in hand almost as big
as the creature
sable discord: itself.

Raufak, "You take him!"
Raufak Agnarsson: A thud? And then another thud? He scowled and looked to
where it came from, then set down his parchment and ink and pen carefully so
as to not ruin it all, then pulled his own borrowed great big scimitar from
his back. He eyed it,
Raufak Agnarsson: then the falchion. "Well, looks like I've got my new
weapon, if these things are hostile." And for some reason he didn't have
planar common! Though he did have knowledge - the planes to try and figure
out what they were!

slashed up his lovely face a bit, but he got his arm up to block the worst of

got into the joints of the armor. He grunted, but then came back with a loud,
angry shout, letting his orc blood rile him up even more! (Intimidate check

was quick and got outta the way fast as she could. She was drawing an arrow
from her quiver at the same time, then spun around and shot it right at his
head, between the

mine." He rushed in towards her, trying to pummel her with his bladed fists.

fighting showed! He had nothing at all to do with finesse (not that he had
much to begin with), he was just battering the Bladeling about the head and
neck with his scimitar,

master and staying out of the way of his horrible fists. She aimed and shot
another arrow for his neck when she saw that Rauf had damaged the other one
easily that way.

Raufak Agnarsson: He let out another nearly feral roar and just threw that
great scimitar at the fleeing creature, not really noticing that Lu had
already fired an arrow that was no doubt better aimed!
sable discord: The arrow claimed the bladeling, and as he began to fall, the
scimitar sunk into his body as well, slicing one of his arms right off then
sinking into the trunk of a tree.
