I Yield to None: The orders for this assignment were simple; steal the
daughter. Though the why shouldn't matter it was provided: the father of the
daughter owed someone a rather large sum of money and called their
I Yield to None: bluff on the consequences if it wasn't repaid. It is a two
story mansion surrounded by a courtyard and wooden wall. A small entrance is
found in the back and a large entrance in the front.
I Yield to None: Note before we begin. Per NW rules Maereth is in charge. If
the character wishes to pass the torch Mercy is next. The front, back, wall,
etc. can be used for entrance. Certain results are dependant on certain
choices. The object is
I Yield to None: to get the girl, how is up to you for the most part The
home is located north of Navahla so city guards won't be a problem. Personal
guards exist.

I Yield to None: ^v^ 5/10/2014 6:18:34 PM ^v^
devilish hex: Kidnapping seemed like such a physically tiring task that
Cassandra had considered only sending her bird along to aid her
would-be-comrades. It was the curiosity of what sort of people would arrive
to aid in the kidnapping of a
restless impulse: Mercy had arrived not too far from the mansion in
question, clothed from head to toe in the black necessary for someone to move
stealthily through life. A bit stereotypical perhaps, but it got the job
done. Standing at a safe
devilish hex: person that brought her to the meeting place, which was
hopefully not right outside one of the entrances, complete with Apex sat upon
her shoulder. Her hood was drawn up to hide her features within the darkness,
mostly so that
restless impulse: vantage point she would observe the mansion for a moment
or two [darksight] eyes cutting through the darkness as she watched for
telltale glimmers that the building held a guard. Hopefully, if there was a
pattern available she would
restless impulse: spot it and make the task of choosing a point of entry a
smidge easier.
lurkerinshade: A few more specifics certainly could have been
provided..until otherwise informed.. abducting the daughter unconscious and
bruised.. or bloodied would be the ideal result. He arrived on foot and clad
more for appearance than
devilish hex: people didn't hone in on the burning red of her eyes that
generally made her stand out in any crowd. Coming up behind the female all
clad in black, she whispered. " Boo. " Cassy couldn't see a jot in the dark
but that didn't matter,
devilish hex: really. She expected someone would be able to and that suited
her fine, standing at the back and making other people do all the physical
jobs was her forte!
lurkerinshade: practicality. The imp followed suit only after a drop to the
earth then the flap of wings and hop onto his customary perch. The womenfolk
that joined him for this job earned a look over. Well at least it would be
eventful at worst.
restless impulse: Unbidden, the words 'can't scare me, the lights are on'
almost fell from her lips but she managed to restrain herself to lifting a
hand in greeting: eyes trained on the mansion.
I Yield to None: The wall was meant for some protection but mostly privacy.
It wasn't a fortified home and as such there weren't any guards patrolling
the top of the wall. All they could see were a few illuminated
I Yield to None: windows on the top floor of the house, though the curtains
were drawn.
lurkerinshade: Rather than speak up he went for the direct approach in
discovering whether or not the others could communicate without words. This
led to the simple use of drowsign soon as he was able to capture their
attention. A simple translat-
I Yield to None: (Font change)
lurkerinshade: ion - Either of you understand sign? - -d
devilish hex: Cassandra had absolutely no idea what Maereth was doing but it
looked quite amusing. In the end, she asked: " What in the name of Antaia are
you doing? "
restless impulse: Once she ascertained that there were no guards patrolling
the wall, she'd turn to look at the others .. drawing in a breath as the
lightelf dared to twitch his fingers with drowsign. Her own hands moved,
fingertips working through
restless impulse: the brief statement of -Clearly- given that her racial
heritage was obvious. As for the other woman's question she'd simply murmur.
"Sign language." Tilting her head to the mansion in question. "Any particular
way you wish to go
restless impulse: about this .. ?" She'd leave it open for suggestion,
though working with two others would be interesting as she usually hit up
houses on her own.
lurkerinshade: Maereth kept his focus on the one that could figure out what
those gestures meant. While Cassandra garnered explanations from the imp from
his perch. " He wants to make with the stealth, Witch-Vassal. " Leave it to
an Imp to know
lurkerinshade: what Antaia referred to right then. Seeing as only one of
them knew sign.. murmuring would have to suffice. " Find a means of access..
if necessary I will silence our entry altogether from there.. the Imp and
either of you that feel
lurkerinshade: especially perceptive will keep an eye out for guards ..
avoid or slaughter them and procur the girl. ... Questions? " -d
devilish hex: Cassandra flared a nostril at the imp when he addressed her
so. She considered sending him back to the hell he came from but his
summoner was speaking, and so she turned her attention to him, instead. "
Would it not be a good idea
devilish hex: to ascertain which room the female is in first? We have two
capable.. " And expendable, " creatures at our disposal, that can fly up to
the top floor, to peek in and see where she resides this evening. " [d]
restless impulse: She bristled at the assumption that she would need help
remaining silent; but the pragmatic side of her insisted that if it actually
worked it could only be a good thing .. She listened to the conversation
between the two, looking
restless impulse: out of the corners of her eye at the woman's own pet.
"Mmm." Glancing over at the imp, a lip curled. "The .. bird .. would be best,
if it is seen whilst in motion it won't draw too much attention. A flying imp
however?" Definitely
restless impulse: cause for alarm.
lurkerinshade: Maereth did not bother with replies to either female, instead
retrieving a small steel mirror from the pouch at his belt. It was handed off
to Sonne even though the Imp remained at his perch. " Sonne is a much more
conspicious
lurkerinshade: creature. If it can pass word back to you.. ? " Even if some
avian posessed apparent magical alteration.. did not mean it could converse
through one means or another. It wasn't an assumption he was prepared to make
.. least not on
lurkerinshade: the first job. -d
devilish hex: Raven's didn't really carry a full range of facial
expressions, so he really just looked like he was staring at each of them
with dead eyes. " He thinks you're a coward for only summoning a lowly imp. "
Apex was not the average
devilish hex: raven at all, though he looked like one, just a little bigger.
" Yes, he can speak through me. " Or, she was insane and thought that the
bird could talk, when really it was in her head. Who knew! The bird cawed,
and soon (with a
devilish hex: little help from Cassy) he was airborne and flying towards the
upper floors of the mansion - specifically moving towards the first
illuminated window. [d]
restless impulse: She settled in to wait for any information funneled back
through the bird with interest.

I Yield to None: "What was that?!" Came a voice from on the other side of
the wall. "What?" A second responded. "It was something flying toward the
house. It had wings!" "Well that is why is was flying isn't it?" A third
voice called. "How big was
I Yield to None: it?" "About the size of a large bird." "Don't worry about
it then." "You sure??" "Yes, something that big isn't going to fly away with
the girl now is it?!" (d)
devilish hex: Cassandra could see through the eyes of the bird she called
her companion, and she hissed lowly. " There are guards all around this
place, on the outside of the wall. We should move from here.. " Apex perched
on something outside
devilish hex: the first window, and looked inside! [ Want me to roll? ]
devilish hex: Inside the wall, apparently*
I Yield to None: (Not necessary, but thank you) While Apex couldn't see
through the draped window he would suddenly hear a little girl's voice,
"Father, I'm ready for my bedtime story!" "Alright dear, just give me a few
more minutes." She was on the
I Yield to None: top floor.(d)
devilish hex: " She's in that room, with her father. " Apex stayed where he
was for the time being, because he wanted to hear the bed time story.
I Yield to None: And what a bedtime story he would hear!
I Yield to None: ^v^ 5/10/2014 7:02:06 PM ^v^
restless impulse: That narrowed it down considerably; a small grin was
offered as she looked over at the window the bird was surely perched next to.
"You said there were guards all around .. are they by the gate, or spread
along the wall?" She'd
restless impulse: speak quieter now, that she had been told there were
people over there and did not wish for her voice to carry with the breeze as
theirs had!
lurkerinshade: Least they knew what to expect once on the other side of the
wall and where the girl could be found.. or a general area within. Maereth
awaited for Cassandra's answer before settling on any plan in particular. -d
devilish hex: " I do not know.. let me just.. " Cassandra let her eyes close
for a moment and it looked like she was falling asleep. In fact, she was
trying to sort through the conflicting memories that were swimming around in
her head. It was
devilish hex: often hard to concerntrate on two places at once. " He flew
over people, I cannot tell you how many, though.. he could carry the mixed
scent of humans. They are near the gate, inside the wall. " Her eyes opened,
and she blinked a
devilish hex: few times.
restless impulse: "Near the gate .. " Eyes narrowing, she knew that her
usual course of action would be to slip along the wall until she was as far
away from the gate as she dared, and either scale it with her own hands or
use a levitational
restless impulse: boost. She would then curse: she was so accustomed to
working alone, she had not thought to bring supplies to aid others over a
wall themselves, and levitation was an inborn ability rather than an external
casting. "Are either of
restless impulse: you versed in climbing walls..?" She looked between the
two. "Or storm t#he gates." Was the other obvious one.
I Yield to None: Nefarious Works was really a fantastic guild to work for if
you looked at life from their side of the line (evil). If any of them had
read the guild charter they may remember #3. Assignments must
I Yield to None: always be completed as purchased. Deviation from the
original plan to achieve the purchased goal may be required or chosen, but
the purchased goal must still be completed as ordered. In this case, they
I Yield to None: were only instructed to get the girl, not in a particular
way.
lurkerinshade: " We will find a section of the wall sparsely guarded.. I
will bring utter silence to it.. climb over and deal with any stragglers. "
He'd murmur his plan..looking to the two of them to gauge reactions. Between
the three of them he
devilish hex: There was a look on her face, that neither of them could
actually see, that looked like the woman had just thrown rotten vegetables at
her. " Climb? It's a wonder I can walk sometimes. "
lurkerinshade: doubted they could take on a superior force. Thus..deception
and trickery was his natural Plan 'A'. -d
devilish hex: That sounded like a terrible plan because.. well.. she had to
climb over a wall, and that was just not going to work for her.
lurkerinshade: then we will clinb over*
restless impulse: She blinked a few times. Perhaps Mercy and Maereth could
scale the wall; and then unlock the gate for Cassandra .. assuming they could
deal with the forces behind the wall by themselves!
I Yield to None: If over the wall they will go then simply RP that which is
required from your end (all poetic that was!). I'll respond accordingly in
regard to the guards inside the wall.
devilish hex: " Well, let's have at it. I don't have all night. " She was a
witch, and she needed the moon!
restless impulse: "Ok." Heaving a breath, she'd break the impasse by
slipping down the expanse between the wall and themselves, creeping along as
carefully as she could until she reached a section of it wherein she couldn't
hear any guards. At that
lurkerinshade: First of all they needed to find a section of the wall not
overly saturated with guards. It was to this he assigned Sonne, hopefully
something the Imp could put that mirror to use in finding the best point to
climb in from! Off went
restless impulse: stage, for now, as it was just a wall built for privacy
reasons and not a full scale fortress she'd search for any handholds in the
brickwork and scale the dratted thing.
lurkerinshade: Sonne.. even if only to discover a safe area for Maereth to
levitate over to the other side. Whatever the case as soon as a suitable
section was found.. the Szarkai set to his favored work of weaving a suitable
phantasm..an affect
devilish hex: Apex was no longer interested in the bedtime story, instead he
wanted to witness the hilarity that would come from watching his mistress try
to climb over a wall. Cassandra, however, was still trying to figure out how
in all the
devilish hex: hells she was going to get over. There was quite the audible
sigh before she followed the woman because she at least looked like she knew
what she was doing!

restless impulse: Well. That didn't go quite as planned. After extracting
herself from the tangle, she'd curse inwardly that some wretched stonemason
had built a wall without being generous enough to leave any gaps for

she envied Apex ..

restless impulse: Err, was addressing Maereth, the defacto leader an all.
I Yield to None: ^v^ 5/10/2014 7:56:51 PM ^v^
lurkerinshade: Odds were fairly good the lot of them were making headway
towards escaping silence.. and the same into the interior of the abode where
their target could be found. All Maereth personally regretted was not having
garnered a look of
lurkerinshade: the guards into a mental visage he could copy into a
magic-borne disguise for himself. Either way.. he took point.. forcing the
Imp into a more inconspicious spot than his shoulder in case they ran into a
guard. Hopefully Mercy kept
lurkerinshade: an eye out for traps.. albino or not.. drow just weren't
trusting creatures. Especially not trusting of the family of targets! -d
I Yield to None: Upon entering they would hear a pair of voices coming from
the main room. The discussion was on the subject of magic and the discussion
was closer to a debate at this time. As such, unless someone knocked
something over on purpose,
I Yield to None: complete stealth wouldn't be needed. However, there was
only one stairway that went upstairs. They would find this out, possibly,
after seeing there weren't any stairs from their location, just a hallway
leading towards the
I Yield to None: illuminated room where the voices were coming from. All in
all, unless someone could put the pair to sleep or completely hide the
group's presence, they weren't getting past without a fight. At least not
this way.
devilish hex: It took her all her effort to follow through the door, rather
than stay outside and feel the exhilaration that Apex was feeling. Instead,
she was forced inside the building with the two of them. There had to be
easier ways than this
devilish hex: to kidnap a little girl.
restless impulse: Mercy followed the others .. though keen eyes were on the
lookout for shiny objects of worth and gold and value.
restless impulse: Treasure Hunter This skill causes you and your party to
locate and earn from 1/4 to 1/2 more gold than they would have normally and
find a few better pieces of loot (per DM's decision how much extra
restless impulse: you earn!). This can be used once per week.
lurkerinshade: Conversations about magic tended to claim Maereth's attention
more easily than other subjects. Rather than seek direct or alternative means
of advancing.. the Szarkai and his imp settled for listening to the chat. [

I Yield to None: (Not necessary, but thank you) While Apex couldn't see

along the wall?" She'd
restless impulse: speak quieter now, that she had been told there were
people over there and did not wish for her voice to carry with the breeze as
theirs had!
lurkerinshade: Least they knew what to expect once on the other side of the
wall and where the girl could be found.. or a general area within. Maereth
awaited for Cassandra's answer before settling on any plan in particular. -d
devilish hex: " I do not know.. let me just..
I Yield to None: Nefarious Works was really a fantastic guild to work for if

lurkerinshade: doubted they could take on a superior force.
Off went
restless impulse: stage, for now, as it was just a wall built for privacy
reasons and not a full scale fortress she'd search for any handholds in the
brickwork and scale the dratted thing.

drow. "GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF! IT'S HURTING ME!"
devilish hex: Cassandra had already drawn a pin from the pouch on her belt
and managed to wriggle her way towards Mage 2. The pin was stabbed into his
arm, but it wasn't it. As the pin sank into the surface of his flesh, she was
muttering under
devilish hex: her breath. [ Skill: Hex - Cackling Hex: this causes the
target to begin laughing & leaves them unable to cast any spells. - Willpower

I Yield to None: The father had hired a Captain but he wouldn't arrive until
the next evening so the mage brothers were the last obstacle, besides the
stairs. Hopefully they did better with them then the wall.
I Yield to None: Upstairs they would find the father, huddling with his arms
protectively around his daughter of 12 or 13. Once one of the NW members
grabbed her the final conversation would begin.
restless impulse: She'd make a grab for the child; she wasn't in any mood to
hang around ... Snatchy snatchy
restless impulse: After going up the stairs
devilish hex: " CAW! " Apex crashed in through the window all dramatically,
clawing at the fathers eyes so the daughter was easier to grab.. by whomever!
I Yield to None: "Please wait! I'll double whatever they are paying you!
Just don't take my daughter!" He would say this after falling over and
screaming from the bird attack. Blood would be dripping down his face along
with the tears of a terrified

I Yield to None: They may remember #4 of the guild charter. Attempts at
extortion on an existing assignment are acceptable so long as the previous

I Yield to None: Apex would get a collective swoon from the roosting ravens
in the surrounding trees after his window crashing skills were put on
display.
devilish hex: Cassandra had made her way up stairs, only to come into the
scene with her own gaze and not just her familiars. The witch cared little
for gold, so she left all that to the drow and the summoner.
lurkerinshade: Maereth hardly made a habit of keeping to deals, but it
rarely hurt to see what he could get out of a situation. " And do you have
those funds on you? " Knowing how heavy gold happened to be.. he had his
logical doubts. If there
lurkerinshade: coffers around though.. they could likely fill their pockets
and still make off with the girl. -d
I Yield to None: "I do, I do!" (For the sake of time I'm going to end the
adventure here with the decision they will accept the payment which will lead
to teh second assignment. Sound good to everyone?)

I Yield to None: The group would accept the offer, however, they would point
out per the rules of their employerer. Such meant they would have to take the
daughter and deliver her as originally hired. However, they would return with
her afterward.
I Yield to None: While the father didn't like the idea of losing his
daughter for any amount of time he really didn't have much choice. The
agreement was made to have her returned after she was delivered.
