Update 3.07
Greetings, OH Members:
After much discussion, and thought, I'm releasing Engineering this week for OH. I have always had a love for steampunk as those that know me can attest to, and I think there is a great way to incorporate clockwork/steampunk elements into our game without going overboard into too much modernity. Our game as it is, is a mix of medieval / fantasy / high magic / steampunk but the problem we run into a lot is that if you want to do "cool" things, you have to use magic. Magic weapons, magic spells, magic potions - not everyone wants to be magical. So, engineering will be able to fill a void for people who want to use non-magical alchemy, and other means to do some interesting effects. I hope you enjoy!
Don't forget, if you have crafting skills it's time for you to ask for your crafting points. Don't forget to tell (psionicwanderer) and let him know how you want your points divided between skills if you have multiples...i.e. "Alchemy 8CP, Artisan 2CP". If you have skills or items that give you more points, you need to claim that on your email.
WEEKLY CHALLENGE
Our challenge for this week is to come up with an item that an engineer could craft. This should be non-magical, keep in mind this is steampunk oriented NOT modern oriented, and that an engineer is capable in alchemy and clockwork artisan crafting! For some ideas see this thread.
Your challenge this week is come up with something an engineer could craft for use in storylines, missions and quests.
You may submit as many as you like! I will give you 1XP, 500gp for each item that is ACCEPTED for use. Any item that is not accepted I'll give you 250gp for submission.
NEW CHARACTER BONUS & RECRUITMENT INCENTIVE
We are continuing our incentive for new players and characters. All new characters at this time will start with 40XP, and 2000gp. This puts them at Topaz, allowing them to choose a profession as well as class. Be sure to let people know that there is an incentive going on right now when you talk to them!
Recruiters, if you recruit a new player (not just someone's new character), then you will receive 10XP & 2000gp per player that actually fills out an application correctly and is accepted! You may put this xp & gp on any character you wish.
CALENDAR
While it is a change to be using the Calendar System on our boards, let's try to start using it. This includes me! I will be using our Calendar system more and more, it's right across the top, click it for info. IF YOU ADD A DATE, I've added a new board called "Event Calendar" and you can link all your posts there, so if you are hosting a mission or quest, or other activity please use the calendar to let us know what's going on.

UPDATES
1. Traits / Talents & Tactics
You may now cast a trait spell AND a tactic or talent spell in one adventure. Previously you had to choose, but now you may have one trait spell and one tactic/talent (like spot, acrobatics, etc) in play at any given time.
2. Engineering Introduction
Here are the new engineering skills! Be aware we are still working on what you can craft with these!
Engineering Knack : You have a knack for innovation in your craftsmanship, and are considered the most technologically advanced crafter in the community. This skill allows you to craft engineering feats and marvels of science with schematics. See our crafting rules for more information.
Prerequisite: Alchemy and Artisan Crafting (Clockwork)
Modified Engineering: You have taken the world of engineered crafting to new heights. You have now gained the ability to modify existing schematics to make them more powerful and stronger in their uses.
Prerequisite: Engineering Knack
Heavy Engineering: Simply modifying your existing schematics wasn't enough for you was it? You just had to push the scroll (instead of envelope, get it?) and amaze not only onlookers but yourself as well didn't you? Well now you have done it, you have created such complex pieces of art that they can only be proclaimed as heavy schematics.
Prerequisite: Modified Engineering
Extra Credit: Answer a question for 2XP. Remember, one per player. Tell me where you want the 2XP when you reply! This question can always be found somewhere on our OH message board.
