Eggcellent - Given to all for participating in a quest on Easter Weekend.
Loot:
(1) Dose of Giant Scorpion Poison (Effect Poison)
Type: Blade
Effects: Loss of Quickness -2
This blade poison reduces a target's Quickness Trait Points by -2. This lasts until the target gains a Cure Poison.
DC15 - Endurance Save Needed
Note for Poison Use:
If you roll a Critical Fail of "1" when you are attempting to poison a target, then you would still roll your 1d6 to find out what happens per the combat charter but you also will poison yourself regardless of what roll you make. You get an Endurance Save like anyone else, and if you fail you take the damage or effect of the poison, even if your 1d6 roll says that you are lucky and nothing happens. This uses one dose of poison, whether you poison just yourself or yourself and another target that round.
[If you have Improved or Greater Poisonmaking you may use this poison as an Improved or Greater Poison, including adding to the DC--]
Improved: -4 QCK trait points
Greater: -6 QCK trait points

Tesarik One: Mistakes? IM me.
Tesarik One: There are always trials and troubles in a world as large as
Arith, and this was no different. The call for aid came not from bordering
kingdoms or moonlit villages ravaged by the undead, but from a place far from
the mainland - the
Tesarik One: Thanes Desert. Thanes Desert is a massive area of land, with
all sorts of peoples, cultures and landforms and plenty of supernatural
areas, and monsters to boot. But, not all issues arise from the supernatural
- sometimes nature
Tesarik One: itself simply goes awry. You and your group has been asked to
travel to Thanes Desert to clear an area of monstrous scorpions that have run
amuck, more than the residents of the desert have ever seen. They are
everywhere, some as
Tesarik One: big as cats and dogs and others bigger than giants, killing
beasts and people alike. So, if you accept the challenge upon the sea of
sand, please join the adventurers by stepping through the portal Maria has
paid to open into the
Tesarik One: Thanes and get ready to work together and complete the mission!
NOTE: This is the desert, a sea of sand. It is going to be sandy and hot
there. Dress accordingly, as you know where you are going. (Begin RP)
psionic wanderer: The desert! He hadn't been there in a while. He wasn't
even sure if he'd been there at all in his present incarnation, which was a
damn shame because there was all sorts of trouble he could get into if he
started using his

psionic wanderer: telekinetic abilities around all that sand. He thought he
even had an outfit that was appropriate, and by way of his Gentleman's Bowler
Hat, he was clad in the same sort of getup one of the dreaded Thanes Ravagers
would wear, all
psionic wanderer: sand-colored, loose-fitting, and complete with a turban
and a veil. Unfortunately it seemed the magic of the hat didn't extend to eye
protection, but hopefully the Deathwatch Lenses would help at least a bit. So
yep. Red sunglasses
OnlineHost: Apparatus Bellum has left the room.
psionic wanderer: and desert gear, he was all ready.. Though he already felt
itchy under all that clothing.
The Lunar Beacon: Well, the Thanes. He'd have to suffer in his armor, not
much to be done about that, but he took the precautions of covering it under
a light robe and cloak. He'd still be hot, but he wouldn't bake directly
from the glare of the
badgers rage: The halfling was a bit .. not quite there this day. Muttering
something about cats and their naps and her lack thereof she shouldered her
small pack and after side eyeing the mages around the portal she'd push
herself through
Tesarik One: Indrila wasn't a huge fan of vermin of any kind, but monstrous
version she disliked more than others. At least one could simply step on the
smaller versions. She had chosen to dress a bit more appropriate for a trip
to the desert,

and shield, opting to carry extra waterskins over extra weaponry. He might
look underequipped, but he was confident of his abilities with his training
and equipment. He

"nnnnnnnngh." She did not like the heat. Something about being hot tempered
making it worse, or perhaps being so low to the ground she got sweated on by
everyone else. Cursing up
The Lunar Beacon: stepped through the portal, ready to do what he could to
aid those going along.
Tesarik One: and had instead of her usual gauzy clothing chosen thicker
material which covered every inch of her body, gloves, and a wrap around her
head and across her mouth and nose allowing her to breathe through it and
then on top of that
badgers rage: a storm and dancing from one foot to the other; she would
nevertheless bless Gwyn and her ingeuity - spitting out a spell between said
cursewords that would take the heat and allow her to survive in nothing more
than her skin if
badgers rage: necessary.. though it would not come to that, so relax. [ call
of the wild, fennec fox - survives in extreme heat! ] downside was .. out
comes a large bushy tail and tawny ears. As if she needed any more help
looking ridiculous.
scales change: A Desert.. truly they could not have provided him with a
worse destination. Hardly kept Kythin from making the trip to Port Union to
jump through a portal to throw his lot in those of questionable skill. Didn't
take long at all aft-
Tesarik One: her black cloak of defense, leaving her less ghostly and glowy
than usual. She nodded to Dorian when he was spotted, and proceeded to step
through the portal into the Thanes.
scales change: er reaching the other side of the portal to decide using his
armor normally here would be an unpleasant experience without a bit of magic.
A little potential salvation arose in the form of the spellcasting halfling.
" You.. halfling
scales change: .. what did you just cast? " Well.. maybe it was spoken in
curiousity? ... sure. -d
psionic wanderer: Well, when the short one sprouted ears and a tail he
couldn't help but snicker. Reminded him of a tiny Halcyon! Anyway, even with
the proper clothing it was dreadfully hot, so he'd set about tampering with
his mind. (Spells! Ignore
badgers rage: "Eh?" Fingers rubbed along the bristling growth to either side
of her scalp. "What's up there .. too hot for yeh? Eh heh heh .. " She'd
start giggling to herself, what would have normally been an endearing sound
twisted somewhat by

scales change: Course the halfling had to take a haughty way of addressing
his question. Luckily she'd not be too useful to him if he embedded a sword
in her hide. " Yes, bait the Dragon.. I am sure it'll be your crowning
achievement. " -d
Mighty Gar thog: ~Oh! The dragon remembered the dessert! He enjoyed that
trip! This time, if he caught a giant sand worm, he might even keep it! He
rushed on through, smiling happily at what he might find on the other side~
/d
badgers rage: Oooh Dorian had the long and the short of it. Ignoring her fun
for a minute she'd focus on her own skillset just a smidge and toss out
another beneficial spell .. [ call of the wild, polecat - quickness buff, +3

Tesarik One: Indrila watched those around her, what a motley group of folks
it was, but that was usually the case. She rolled her shoulders, and tucked

her eyes. Which were then rolled in Kythin's direction as she waggled her
fingertips at him. "Fine fine .. whatever .. " A strange sensation of warmth,
which would then be
psionic wanderer: "Does anybody who does not speak Thanic wish to be able to
speak it while we are here?" He wasn't sure if they'd run into many locals,
but it was still something to think on!
Tesarik One: mouth could be made out through the pale cloth. Mouth moved as
ghost elven was spoken, and her own spell was cast causing shadow wings to
flicker into being upon her back, wisping things that seemed to fade at the
edges.
Tesarik One: (Shadowrunner - +2 to QCK)
Tesarik One: Spell noted.
badgers rage: followed by blissful coolness as [ call of the wild: fennec

unfortunate byproduct! But it made her laugh some more .. "Oooh. Would ..
would thanish be
badgers rage: advantageous?"
Tesarik One: Spells*
The Lunar Beacon: He turned to regard Dorian as he spoke the request,
nodding to the man. "Suppose it couldn't hurt. Thank you for the offer,
I'll take you up on it."
badgers rage: (( +2 to quickness ugh .. sorry -.,- ;; ))
Tesarik One: Brendan 0/29 [18] || Badger 0/49 [24] (0/22) || Kythin 0/69
[22] || Gar 0/41 [22] (0/44) || Dorian 0/63 [11] || Indrila 0/48 [22]
Mighty Gar thog: ~The dragon waved a hand too. Maybe he should learn Thanic~
/d
psionic wanderer: "It'd be advantageous for me to not have to translate
everything that's said to us, if we run into locals." He eyed the three that
had responded in some way. He could only get one of them, so...
OnlineHost: psionic wanderer rolled 1 3-sided die: 2
scales change: As if he hadn't become use to winding up in forms other than
his most often seen.. functionality in the heat meant more right then. "
Appreciated.. , what was your name again? " To the femme halfling of course.
Course with the spell
psionic wanderer: Badger it is! He stepped over to the halfling and placed
his hand atop her head, and rewired her brain! (Spell: Universal Translator,
allowing Badger to understand and speak Thanic for 24 hours)
Tesarik One: Indrila blinked as Kythin sprouted tails and ears, and if she'd
been anyone else save for the calm and quiet ghost elf she'd have burst into
laughter. Instead, a brow lifted, and the slightest of smirks appeared
beneath the cloth
Tesarik One: covering her mouth and then she turned and set off in the
direction Maria would have told them to go once stepping free of the portal.
badgers rage: Eyes crossed ever so slightly .. "... ooh." Well that was
different. Fingertips touched her temple in a salute to the fancy man. "Ta
mate." Before turning her attention back to Kythin .. "Badger." It served,
and she turned on her
badgers rage: heel and followed Indrila!
psionic wanderer: Well, he may as well test it. He switched to Thanic and
spoke quietly to her as they started moving along.
scales change: cast he swiped a hand over the brooch to set his Folding
Plate to turning to its much more useful form as armor rather than brooch.
Then there was Indrila with her smirking. " ... Next Pit Fiend we run into..
" Then back to the some
Tesarik One: The portal closed behind the last person, and a triangular
stone appeared where it had once been, shooting a thin beam of light up into
the air. Those who had passed through the portal (and anyone with ability to
see magical
scales change: what amusing halfling. " .. Well Met.. Badger. " -d
Tesarik One: essences) would be able to see it as a beacon to take them back
to the portal point so it would reopen and bring them home. Maria would have
told them to move in a northern direction.
badgers rage: Eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly, the halfling kinda ..
leaning .. up .. as she gave back her own stagewhisper. "Uh .. yeh .. you're
speakin normal like. I can .. I can speak common .. " Wasn't much of a
stagewhisper! Her face
badgers rage: reflected her confusion some more before furrowing into
something bordering on agitation. "Is this a joke?"
The Lunar Beacon: Well, he could survive off the land if he had to, but he
wasn't the best of navigators on land, so he waited for someone to take the
lead and followed gladly. He watched Dorian and Badger as they all traveled
together, not
psionic wanderer: "Oh good, that means it's working." Still said in Thanic,
and he smiled to himself. "I'm glad, there is always a risk when tinkering
with unfamiliar brains. Hopefully you didn't lose any languages in the
process." Informed consent?
psionic wanderer: Dorian had no idea what that meant. (brb)
Tesarik One: That smirk faded and she stared at Kythin a moment with daggers
in her black gaze, then she drew attention away from him and began to move
again, northward. Her voice was soft, the wind picked it up and took it to
each ear, "Be
The Lunar Beacon: understanding a lick of what was being said, though
Badger's mounting agitation was translating itself. He gave a wave to
Indrila, recalling her from what seemed like ages in the past, moving up to
be within a closer distance.
Tesarik One: careful... these creatures are master of disguise from what I
have read."
badgers rage: "But .. but .. you're speaking common. Isn't he speaking
common?" Confusion, agitation, and perhaps a little distress, especially when
he added in the losing languages! Well if she lost any .. she didn't notice!
"Disguised
badgers rage: Scorpion beasts? Oh .. wonderful."
The Lunar Beacon: "Scorpions, that can change form? Are we sure they're
scorpions to begin with?"
Tesarik One: "They merely know how to blend into the environment, not change
form. They have adapted to the sands, over time I'm sure." She nodded to
Brendan as he moved up near her and spoke. Her gaze swept the area, looking
for anything out of
Mighty Gar thog: ~Oh, wow... the dragon was in a daze, having not been out to
adventure in such a long time. He stayed near the back, checking his gear.
No need to admit his first error of the trip~ /d
Tesarik One: the ordinary.
scales change: He had that effect on people.. course Indrila in truth had
proved worthy enough not to go selling out to random Baatezu. Didn't mean
he'd be pleasant about not doing such a thing. " No, Badger.. he's speaking
Thanic.. " Which so to
scales change: did Kythin right then [ polylingual ]. Then there was the
'fun' news about the scorpians. " Good perhaps this will be challenging. " -d
badgers rage: "Oh." That was good, features relaxing on at least one point -
felt like something deep inside her brain was going to pop if that carried on
very long! Now that she no longer had to worry about that little issue, she
focused her
badgers rage: attention on her eyes as well as her ears .. hoping she'd spot
something nasty before it had her head in its mouth.
Tesarik One: As you begin walking across the desert, the sun illuminates
several telling things around you. There are freshly picked bones of what
look to be camels in various places, and big shards of invertabrate
exoskeletons.
Tesarik One: (Does anyone have Knowledge (Nature) or Knowledge (Monster
Lore)?)
badgers rage: (( i think i do! sec ))
The Lunar Beacon: He would stop and examine some of the exoskeletons they
encountered, the smith in him trying to see if he could learn any tricks of
weaknesses in the creatures' joints. There just wasn't enough to tell from
what they had come
psionic wanderer: (Breadth of Experience!)
The Lunar Beacon: across(Not I).
Mighty Gar thog: (Monster lore)
badgers rage: (( omg i have something useful T^Y knowledge: nature, and

psionic wanderer: He reached into the satchel at his hip, having become
quite adept at doing everything one-handed by now, and he still didn't cheat
and get lazy by just telekineticizing everything to where he needed it. He
produced a spyglass, stuck

Mighty Gar thog: ~Shook his head, looking at the bones and remains~ Hope all

Tesarik One: (Did I get everyone that rolled?)
Tesarik One: (Continue!)
badgers rage: She peered over at the remains and grimaced, reaching out a
small hand as if to run a finger over the clawmarks .. but she managed to
stop herself in case a range too close for comfort would invoke some massive
hellbeast from beyond
psionic wanderer: "Hm." He collapsed the spyglass and tucked it into his
satchel once again, then tugged his glove off of his tattooed hand with his
teeth. He wasn't sure the tattoos needed to be uncovered to work properly,
but it couldn't hurt. Into
Tesarik One: Indrila moved along towards the closest set of remains and ran
her hand along the bones, with a furrow of her brows. There were an awful lot
of skeletons and exoskeletons around, from what she could see though her eyes
weren't the
scales change: Nothing wrong with a few arachnids.. a little roasting and
they would even be edible. Fat chance Kythin actually knew that though. Still
he had no reason to not keep with the group while they mulled over the
subject of the bones and
badgers rage: the desert sands! YEAH like that could happen. Immediately,
she began muttering the necessaries for another spell [forced empathy. group

feeling that it would

his hand didn't get too damaged by the seun. Well, that and he could just
keep it tucked under his clothing. "I doubt the creatures are all that far."
Tesarik One: "Yes, some of these are monstrous spider exoskeletons...but not
all," she whispered when she heard Gar say something about spiders. She could
not tell what had killed these creatures though. "Camels...
spiders....scorpions..."
Tesarik One: Everyone roll a Spot.
badgers rage: "All broken by somethin' with claws .. and big - if not big,
then hellishly strong .. " She'd mutter along, tugging at her mohawk with a
combination of concern, curiosity and aggressive glee! So many feels for a
small body.

Tesarik One: Everyone except Badger would spot five low mounds of sand. The
sand was otherwise flat, or swept onto dunes...so the small mounds did stand
out. Save for Badger who was too concerned with the idea of claws to notice!
badgers rage: Sounds about right!
The Lunar Beacon: He picked up on the mounds of sands, adding it up quite
easily in his mind. His movements were slow, easing the broadsword out of
its scabbard, readying his shield into place.
psionic wanderer: He eyed those mounds of sand, eyes narrowing a bit, and he
was tempted to just scatter that sand every which way and expose what was
under it!
Tesarik One: Indrila eased her glassteel buckler into place and drew her
black thinblade as she noticed the odd mounds of sand. That never boded well,
oddities in the landscape. She did not speak but pointed with the tip of her
sword to make
Tesarik One: sure all know where they were.

action against the mounds besides waiting?)
badgers rage: She'd jump a little as Indrila pointed them out, clearly
surprised ... but noticing the others with their weapons out and stances
aggressive, she'd take no chances as a ripple of fur broke out over her body
and she gained in muscle
The Lunar Beacon: (No, I'll get things rolling)

[If you have Improved or Greater Poisonmaking you may use this poison as an Improved or Greater Poison, including adding to the DC--]

all sorts of peoples, cultures and landforms and plenty of supernatural
areas, and monsters to boot. But, not all issues arise from the supernatural
