Tesarik One: This is Part 2 of a small series of quests in the Thanes

Desert. In Part One last Saturday, we went to the Thanes in search of

monstrous scorpions which seem to have taken over a broad expanse of the

desert. We killed many of them,

Tesarik One: but it was obvious there were more to be dealt with, but could

not all be taken out in one trip. So, Maria has called those who wish to

adventure together again to cross a portal into the Thanes yet again (it is

hot there, dress

Tesarik One: accordingly!) and continue to eradicate the monstrous

scorpions. It's pretty evident that there is probably a nest of monstrous

scorpions spawning these massive creatures which has not been found yet. So

far we've fought scorpions

Tesarik One: the size of large dogs, as big as a large man, and a 20 footer.

The portal is open, step through when ready and begin! (Begin RP)

Nobilis Arcanus: ::Well he had actually been staying around Thanes in the

tower having taken it as a sort of home away from home but had been over at

the Heart when it was spoken of. So there he was moving through the portal,

leather warmage coat

Tesarik One: Indrila had gone along last time, and she would go along this

time as well. Dressed as she had before, with thin layers of cloth covering

her body to save against whipping sands, only her dark eyes visible and her

gear and weapons

Tesarik One: on her she stepped out of the portal and glanced around with

her hand up to shade her eyes. She could only imagine that they would find

even larger ones this time, and that could prove quite dangerous. She waited

outside the portal

Nobilis Arcanus: worn overa simple silk shirt, firey crimson hair braided

back in a slender braid that came from the back of his skull and single strip

of hair down the center, supple leather gloves worn, as he stepped through he

was buckling that

Tesarik One: to see who all was coming, quiet as ever with all portions of

her silvery hair tucked under the cloth covering her head.

scales change: Once again .. drawn to the Thanes Desert to deal with

glorfied arachnids, yet all of it proved straight forward without anything

truly surprising to contend with. Not that Kythin didn't come prepared

despite the apparent ease in

Nobilis Arcanus: coat, braid drawn up tucked within the hood of the overcoat

which he flicked up over his head. The heat was bypassed by one of the rings

worn that kept him comfortable.:: *D

x Silver Heat x: Akito had heard tale of this desert excursion in the Inne

the other evening and so when he'd heard they were heading back, Akito

decided to tag along. Since it was the desert he wore desert robes over his

clothes, including over the

Tesarik One: As before, the area is littered with the whitened bones of wild

camels, and big shards of invertabrate exoskeletons. Those who came last week

had discovered the bones and husks to be fairly fresh, and the husks were not

only

Mighty Gar thog: ~The dragon was ready. He expected no use of his mule, so

left it home. He simply stepped through, happy with his personal cool air,

the icemail he still wore~ /d

scales change: which the prior adventure had gone. Clad in the Blue-Black

armor,its various related pieces of armor, and the cloak sporting his heraldy

( and the charm of adaptation acting as a clasp). Thus through the portal

once more into the

scales change: desert full of scorpions. -d

Tesarik One: scorpion in nature, but monstrous spiders as well. Claw

markings were found by Badger on some of the bones and exoskeletons showing

considerable force was applied to the bodies.

x Silver Heat x: head to keep sand out of his eyes and protect from the

heat. Truth be told the coverings looked as if he were wearibng a beige

burlap sack. Even so, he glanced toward the others who had convened as he

moved into the portal. He made

x Silver Heat x: sure all of his gear was in place and not easily tangled in

the robes he wore. [d]

Tesarik One: "If you were not here last time, let me tell you to be wary of

the scorpion's sting. We were lucky last time, but it is very dangerous." Her

voice but a whisper, she spoke where they could all hear here though. A nod

was given to

Tesarik One: Rhyss, she'd not seen him in some time after all. She wondered

where Brendan and Dorian were, perhaps they'd show up a bit later. "Well, let

us continue our trek." She began moving in the northern direction they'd been

moving before

Tesarik One: as Maria had given them that hint.

Tesarik One: As before, when the last one stepped out of the portal it

turned into a triangular glowing stone that shot a beam into the sky allowing

them to find it from any direction. Only those who had the signature of the

portal on them from

Tesarik One: using it could see it. Just an improvement the Port Union had

made on portals.

Mighty Gar thog: ~looks at Indira~ Any idea wha dat is? ~fingered talon

Tesarik One: "Hmm." She noted the vultures as well, and stopped a moment.

They weren't far from the portal yet, but circling vultures was as good a

start as anything. "Shall we go and see what they are circling over?" She

peered forward, but

Nobilis Arcanus: ::He stared in the direction of the vultures, head tipped

slowly narrowing the bronze tinted eyes.::No,..there is a shape up there and

something with sunlight glinting off of it,::he was moving forward now. Hand

raised, touch to his

Tesarik One: could not make out much of anything else, due to the glare of

the sun. "I'm not sure." She began to walk that way.

x Silver Heat x: Akito shielded his eyes to try and hone in at what the

others had spotted. He didn't see at first until it was pointed out. He said

nothing for the time but followed in that direction.

Tesarik One: Good idea. She normally cast this spell at the beginning of any

journey but she'd forgotten for the moment, but soon enough ghost elven was

being uttered and shadowy tendril like wings appeared upon the ghost elf's

back as she cast

Mighty Gar thog: ~The dragon nodded, then waved Akito to his side~ <w> Stay

Kythin waited a grains of sand, so to speak, before he began to head towards

where the vultures had been pointed out by others. -d

x Silver Heat x: The hooded asian looked up toward the dragon crafter he'd

met yesterday and nodded his consent, quickening his step into the dragon's

range to keep a safe perimeter from enemies.

DaemianBerazalle: He moved quietly through the shadows, a nod given to the

portal mage as he stepped through to join in the quest. He was garbed in his

normal attire, his only weapons carried being his swords. A slight nod given

to those gathered as

Tesarik One: (One moment while I see if our new player wishes to join. Y'all

can keep rping moving towards the vultures if you like.)

DaemianBerazalle: he caught up with them, the brim of his hat pulled low to

keep his face in shade. Daywalker or not, deserts were not a fun environment

for him. (d)

Nobilis Arcanus: ::A glance in the direction of the vampire. Smirk formed

upon his face hidden in the shadows of that black hood. No he didn't wear the

overcoat to appear menacing or anything,..just had that vibe about the

heavily armored and

Nobilis Arcanus: enchanted wear of the Shallot Warmages,::long time no see

Dae. *D

Tesarik One: Indrila noted Dae, though only her eyes were visible as she'd

dressed for the desert nearly covering her pale body. A gloved hand rose and

waved to him, but then she began to plod yet again towards the vultures

circling in the sky.

Mighty Gar thog: ~The dragon was walking, not too fast, allowinh Akito the

ease of keeping up. After all, no point i letting any in the group get

harmed~ /d

Tesarik One: Sand was difficult to trudge through but she was doing even

better now that she'd cast her spell giving her a little bit added speed from

the shadowy wings now on her back.

DaemianBerazalle: "Indeed, it's been quite a while since I've seen most of

you, save for those I recently met again. It's good to be seen." He

chuckled softly, waving to Indrila before her attention moved away, keeping

up with the group easily.

heart of visions: Kissiae was indeed nervous about this being her first time

really as she moved to join the group. Her hair was pulled half up along with

flowers and her headband that had assorted flowers. Her attire was dressed

for the dessert

Tesarik One: (god almighty. brb, issue in my house)

heart of visions: , but at least she was dressed secent with a short dress

and shoes along with the bow and arrows that Dae gave her. Spotting Dae and

the others she moved toward them. "This is weird" -d-

Tesarik One: (teenagers. ok back. husband is taking care of it)

Tesarik One: As they move over the distance separating them from what some

viewed before them. It was a lot farther than it appeared, the desert was

like that, just dunes everywhere.... but soon enough

Tesarik One: they all would realize that what the vultures were circling

over was a truly massive specimen of scorpion... three times as large as the

biggest one they'd fought already ... 65 feet long in fact. It seemed to be

dead, newly dead in

Tesarik One: fact for the vultures had not ventured down to begin eating it

yet.

Mighty Gar thog: ~The dragon waved Kissie over, figuring he may be able to

aid in protecting the weaker folks better, if they were near him, as he

thought about how many objects he could make from that dead one~ /d

scales change: Kythin certainly could not admit to forseeing something quite

that bit.. damn arachnids was damn near as large as some dragons. He wasn't

quite ready to chalk it up as 'dead', for good reason considering how often

they ran into

scales change: undead.. perhaps such a specimen would be out of the

ordinary.. but he at least partially expected something of the over-sized

stew-filled carapace. " If that really is dead.. there will be something

worse nearby.. " They did need

scales change: to cover their bases after all.-d

Tesarik One: "By Kanesh, that's a big one...." Indrila hissed lightly as she

was able to make out the camouflaged hide of the scorpion against the sand.

She wasn't even sure she realized such things could grow THAT big. She wasn't

sure it was

heart of visions: Kissie made her way toward the Scorpion more curious then

anything as the Nymph skipped. Bending down she touched at the scorpion

pushing a few birds away. " Wow this is interesting" She said this was the

first time she seen it that

Tesarik One: dead either, and just for good measure she drew her blade and

readied spells at the tip of her tongue. "Let's circle around, half one way,

half the other... watch it for any instance of movement. Weaker folks, stay

with those that

Tesarik One: can aid you."

x Silver Heat x: As they approached the dead behemoth, Akito glanced up to

watch the vultures do their aerial dance before the meal they had claimed. "I

dare to wonder what sort of creature could fell such a huge beast.." Half to

himself, half

heart of visions: big. Looking to Dae and the gradon she moved ahead a bit

wanting to exsplore more. -d-

Nobilis Arcanus: ::A frown crossed his features seeing that large

scorpion,:;well,..isnt that just lovely? ::He wasn't being a fool, he growled

low, there wa asudden feeling of static electricty in the air as well as

ozone. The bronze of the iris

DaemianBerazalle: He gazed about, studying the terrain as they approached

the hulk of a corpse. Living or dead, he approached each foe with caution.

He slid his blades free of their scabbards, wanting to be ready should

anything happen. He smiled

Mighty Gar thog: ~Hearing that, he commented~ Somefin injured on da

udderside... Indira, care to look? ./d

Tesarik One: She frowned, but said nothing as the big old dragon left it up

to the little ghost elf to see what was making all that noise. It was almost

funny - almost. "Sure." She began to move around the massive scorpion, still

unsure if the

DaemianBerazalle: He moved closer to the colossal husk, hearing the

groaning. He'd not let Indrila go alone, stepping up beside her as she moved

to check it out. "Together, hmm?"

Nobilis Arcanus: ::A glance towards Gar,::come now we cant let the slender

elf lady do all the damage,..arnt you skilled in healing after all. ::But as

Indrila was moving forward he was at her side already as well.::

Tesarik One: beast was completely dead or not, to see what was making all

that groaning around the other side. Her sword drawn, she was ready to slice

it right through if needed. "Watch out for the stinger..." She said to no one

in particular.

heart of visions: "I don't hear nothing" She said some with a smile still

near the Scorpion poking at it some. Looking around the sand hearing him

mention something beneath the sand. "SOmething in the sand?" Now she didn't

want to step on the stand.

Tesarik One: She nodded to Dae.

heart of visions: She moved toward the head wanting to make sure it was dead

as her foot kicked at the scoripion a bit. Looking to Dae, Gar and the

others. "I think it is dead"

Nobilis Arcanus: We will let him stay back and guard the sand,:;offered a

wink towards Indrila from beneath the hood of that overcoat.:: *D

Tesarik One: As they came around the beast, there in the sand was another

large creature.... not nearly as large as the scorpion though... an

androsphinx, slightly larger than a large man. He was bleeding, and looked

quite wounded and was

Tesarik One: definitely the one making the groaning noise as he clawed at

the sand and attempted to move further away from the scorpion's body.

heart of visions: Seeing the wounded creature as she quickly moved toward

the thing groaning. She loved any animal, but to see them in pain was not

good. " Poor thing" She said moving a few inches closer that was never good.

scales change: Seeing as someone decided to rely on the smallest of them to

take a look.. Kythin took the oppurtunity to walk about the scorpion and

examine a bit. Naturally that eventually led to where Indrila and Daemian

took themselves.. and

x Silver Heat x: Akito kept his distance and observed next to the dragon

what the others were investigating. Looking at the girl kicking the corpse,

he grimaced a bit. "If it's not dead, the scorpion will kill you first." He

warned, until he was dis

Nobilis Arcanus: ::He halted staring at the androsphinx, hea tipped some

before looking to the scorpion then back over. Spotting the female moving

closer a gloved hand rose motioning her to stop,:;dont know if it will try

and attack.

DaemianBerazalle: He reached out a hand, touching Kissie firmly on her

shoulder, holding her back from approaching the wounded creature. "Not a

good idea, stay back til we know if it means us harm."

x Silver Heat x: tracted by the movement of the wounded. He had no ability

to heal the wounded, so he'd stay out of the way for the time being; a hand

tucked in the folds of his robe near his sword in case of attack. [d]

Mighty Gar thog: ~Oh! The dragon thought that whatever grosaned needed

healing, so had sent the best healer. If anyone tells him whats there...~ /d

Tesarik One: Indrila paused, and she grabbed Kissie before she could get to

the androsphinx and touch it, "Wait." It seemed the others had the same idea.

She eyed the nymph, thinking she might be the first to die, but then looked

back to the

Tesarik One: sphinx and spoke to it calmly, "Greetings, we have come from

the Obsidian Heart, and have been eradicating the monstrous scorpions from

the area. Are you friend or foe?" Sounded dumb once she'd said it, but there

it was.

heart of visions: Looking to <Silver> she nodded a bit. "My name is Kissie"

She said some and then feeling Dae rest his hand on her shoulder. "But if it

doesn't I don't like creatures dieing" She said some looking to Indrila, but

stayed where she

scales change: found what they did.. well that was .. unexpected.. fairly

interesting. Pity he didn't know if the thing could speak any civilised

tongues. With Indrila still taking the lead, Kythin crossed his arms ,

waiting for the situation to

scales change: play out however it might. -d

Tesarik One: The sphinx tensed as they came into view, but then relaxed as

much as his greatly wounded body could and sighed. His voice was growly as he

spoke, and tinged with pain, "Greetings, friends. I commend you on ...(groan)

such a

Tesarik One: duty. I too have been working on killing many of these

(arrrrrgh) beasts. I've left their bodies scattered across but there are

still more. This one..I was searching for the nest... (shiver, groan)...and

found this monster. It.. it

Tesarik One: has nearly killed me, but I downed it. I.. I... if you would be

so kind, healing is needed. I will pay you well... healing, and it stung me

thrice. I need the poison cured or I shall die."

heart of visions: was for now. "I will be okay" She said listening to the

woman talk to the thing. "We want to help " Moving closer to the Sphinx she

had that forest scent to her as Kissie bent down some near him. "Does it hurt

bad?" She asked some

Mighty Gar thog: ~Hearing and understanding the voice, the dragon moved

around the side, closer, to see what was speaking~ /d

heart of visions: her hand moving to rest on him some. "You will Die? Death

is bad" She said looking to Dae some and the others. "He seems nice" -d-

Mighty Gar thog: ~Then said to Indira~ GarThog can cure da poison...tell him

dat and ask his name please... /d

Tesarik One: "Yes. Intensely. I've managed to use my magic to stall the

poison's passage in my system but not for long."

Nobilis Arcanus: ::He moved so he was flanking Indrila on one side, Dae to

the other before listening to it speaking. Arms crossed over the leather clad

chest before glancing to Indrila,::I can possibly shrink the corpse to make

it easier for the

DaemianBerazalle: He nodded quietly as the creature spoke, patting Kissie

gently on her shoulder and leaning close to speak with her. "The creatures

in this land are all dangerous. It's a harsh environment, and they react

accordingly. Let those of

Nobilis Arcanus: male to get free.

DaemianBerazalle: us who have weathered more storms take the lead."

Tesarik One: (The sphinx needs 20 points of healing to stabilize, and 3 cure

Poisons to be completely cured. Depending on what you are able to do, will

depend on the payment he gives.)
