Oh the irony was practically palpable. It was possible that his dark mouth would forever be stuck in a half smirk from this day forth. As the courier huddled in the corner, near debilitating fear latched upon their body, the drow read over the scroll a second time. Not even two nights removed from looking upon an inn filled with the pleasant, honorable and brightest of lights that now represented the Heart. Rhyldrin knew it had been only a matter of time before his intentions and desires conflicted with the more light aligned organization. He would have preferred bedding the redheaded Maria before leaving, he had a thing for angry redheads, but alas, she would be make it away unscathed. Her heart would surely be broken though, poor girl.
A third time the scroll was visually consumed, the words now etched into his mind for later use. His arms would slowly lower so that the terrified courier could gradually come into his gaze. “For this guild’s sake, you had better not represent their membership.” Slender digits of ebon skin would curl inward to crumple the scroll before it was tossed to the person who let out a yelp and whimper in response.
“Flee insect, tell your masters I accept their invitation.”
Looking down at the badge now in his palm he would wait in silence until the courier managed to raise up on shaking legs and escape out the front door of the Black Recluse. Several moments later he would leave himself, sealing the door behind him, and begin to make his way to the Navahla Chapter House for Nefarious Works. Standing outside the front door he would study the simple looking building for several minutes before his cloaked and hooded form stepped up to the door and gloved fingers extended to open the latch.
Stepping in slowly he would look around, using both his eyes and his powers to ensure this whole situation wasn’t a trap. When nothing appeared out of the ordinary, at least out of the ordinary for a Chapter House of a guild that specialized in the more sinister elements of society, he would step in and make his way down the short hallway. As he drew toward the end of the passage a strikingly beautiful female would lift her head, revealing that she was sitting behind a desk at the end. She would hold his gaze for a second, assessing him without a care in the world, before she motioned slightly with her head toward her left (his right). Upon reaching the desk he would turn his gaze in the direction of her motion and see a window with two, what looked to be artistic pillars, flanking the panes of glass.
Returning his gaze back toward the desk he would lift an eyebrow upon seeing that the female was no longer present, or at least visible. A half grin was given, at least they had style. Making his way toward the window a subtle humming would be heard before a spark of red flashed from the badge beneath his cloak. The red would strike the right pillar before jumping to the left and growing thicker and cascading down toward the ground. Within a few seconds a swirling portal was before him and a few seconds later he was stepping through to see what awaited him on the other side.
