The Obsidian Heart Inne, this place was famous all over the lands of Arith and it was the first place that Sila Yar came to upon her arrival in her home kingdom. Make no mistake, this wasn’t a homecoming, she was simply here to do a job. That job happened to be a woman called Ophelia Harrington, a slip of a girl who had somehow escaped the grasp of one of the most powerful Black Mage’s Arith had never even seen. Her counterpart, Carver, had already attempted to apprehend the girl but had failed so miserably, that he had fled their leader’s wrath. Now it was her turn.
Sila, or Aravis as she was currently going by, was stood outside the aforementioned Inne ready to step inside and test her newest form. There were some aspects of herself that she was unable to hide: the colour of her eyes, her sleight stature but they were easily passed off as part of her form. Inhaling, just once, Sila stepped into the belly of the beast and looked around.
The inne seemed empty for the most part, one drunken fool in the corner and the bar keep. That was what she was hoping for, just one person to make sure that her work was sound. “Good morning…” She said with a gentle tone, before approaching the bar and the woman stood behind it. “I’d like an apple tea and a scone, please… with plenty of butter.” She enjoyed the butter more than anything else but she had to keep up appearances, didn’t she? A coin to cover her food and drink plus a tip to the woman was placed on the bar and she moved away to find a seat.
It didn’t take her long, for there were many free, so once she had settled her belongings upon the table, Sila took a look around. Every so often she would touch the arm of a chair and wait, to see if she could sense any feeling of her target (skill: Psychometry) and every so often, Sila was able to pick up a feeling of the Bard, but not much more… the touch of a memory here, and the image of her face and an older man talking by the fireplace. It seemed like the girl had not been to this place for some time.
Disgruntled, she sat herself down just in time for her tea and scone to arrive and it didn’t take her long to tuck in to the sweet cake and the mound of butter that was attached to it. How delightful. Sila was going to enjoy this assignment if this was the food she was going to enjoy! Her thoughts moved to other ways that she could find Ophelia, she knew full well that there was a lover somewhere, and her sister was around too.
It was to the sister her thoughts fell; she was nothing more than a girl, even younger than the Bard she’d been sent to capture. “Could I?” She asked herself, then a smirk formed and she nodded, as she answered herself, too. “I could.” What could she do? Well, that would all come out in time... but for now, Sila was going to make herself a new friend. With that happy thought in mind, Sila sipped at her tea and watched the inne as people came and went throughout the day, even stopping to chat to some of them if they felt the need to say hello. No matter what, her conversation always came around to the two Harrington sisters, one of them was almost-famous, after all!
