Scar Match
Win = 4XP
Lose = 2XP Plus Scar (to be marked in Dossier)
Witness = 1XP
Proctor = 1XP
Send spar logs to the Activity Mod for validation and credit.
Your roleplay must be at least a full and complete sentence. We will not give credit for -he punches him in the face- and that type of roleplay that only tells us you are out for the XP and do not care about story development
Scar Match
- You must use Rank Dice.
- Life is DOUBLE what it would be in a normal spar or adventure. So if you have 30 life normally, in any SM you will have 60.
- Hand-to-hand, weapons, and magic can be used.
- Class Bonus, Skills, Loot, Etc. are applicable during high impact spars. You MAY heal, or self-heal during these matches, though it will consume your turn.
- Anything marked "Once per adventure" are not to be used in spars, as they are adventure items. Had they the intent to be used in spars they would have been marked "Once per combat".
- Add your Quickness bonus to your initiative.
- You may add your Strength (melee) or Quickness (ranged) or Intelligence (magic) bonus to your roll.
- There must be ONE Witness to this match.
- The loser of this match is to receive a scar from the winner. This is permanent. No healing, self healing, wish, or even miracle will rid the loser of this scar. (Keep in mind this is a SCAR not a dismemberment. An example is that you mat notch an ear, not take it off.)
- If there is ANY question/doubt/concern/complaint over something during this match, pause it immediately, contact the Storyline Leader or Combat Moderator, and you will be advised on how best to proceed before you may resume match.
- *Standby for limits on SM participation.*
Weaknesses in a Scar Match
If you are weak, be it racial or other, any wounds suffered by said substance are multiplied times 2 unless it specifically says 1.5. If this weakness is applied to a weapon/vocation (poisoned, bludgeoning, silver, fire, piercing, etc.) ONLY the weapon/vocation damage rolled is multiplied (such as 1d5 piercing dagger, no rank dice, skills or traits) to avoid confusion. DMs can and will change this depending on their play style, but in High Impact Spars and Scar Matches only the weapon/vocation damage is affected by racial or flaw based weaknesses.
When applying defense, first you multiply the damage caused by the weakness, apply it to any other applicable damage for that attack, and then subtract the applicable defenses from armor or skills.
How It Is Run
- Always log your spars, so that they can be sent in for XP credit.

A Cairn of Rage: Thick shoulders rolling slowly as he shrugged off the thin tunic, letting it fall to the snow covered ground in a heap. His voice a grave rumble, growled out as if each word hurt his throat. That harsh Zorcan tongue fitting for this frozen wasteland. "No cloth. Just flesh. See if you can make my blood run." With a sudden burst of speed, Fenris closed the distance between them. His left hand clamping down upon Astrid's exposed forearm while the other dropped like a smithy's hammer on the joint in her elbow of her sword arm. Immediately afterwards, she stepped back as her Stigmata was activated, causing blood to begin to stain that dark leather around her wrists. (+3 to Defense - Stigmata Skill) Once she felt the dam break from the deep scars upon her wrists, she lifted her sword and with a loud battle yell moved in for him, slashing across the front of him, trying to make him bleed as he had taunted her about.

No sooner had the blade passed him by, did he snap his fists out, coming over her shoulder in a quick left and right connection.

Relic of Enmity: Pummeled, jaw out of sorts, blood pooling in her mouth she spit it out and shook her sweaty red hair out of her eyes just in time for Fenris to grab her and put another fist against her body then lift her, letting her fall with a hard thud upon frozen ground. She was up quickly, shield and Skoldinfrust in hand, and growled at the man as she began to stalk in a half circle as if a feral creature. She let out a yell in Zorcan, a prayer to Zorja, as she came in towards him again and attempted to send the tip of her blade - flickering with frostfire upon the blue ice - into his gut and give a violent twist one way, then the other to maximize the wound. (Oath of Annihilation - unable to use any defense)

A Cairn of Rage: Those beryl eyes narrowed slightly, burning wild and forge hot with that bottomless rage and hatred. Astrid crouched and ready, stalking around him like a cat about to pounce upon the barn mouse. Fenris watched her come, only there in the corners of his lips did one note the subtle change. A lupine curl in the very edges, smiling like a fox that had seen the coop left wide. As Astrid lunged with that sword, Fenris rose his left hand and brought it down hard at the flat of the blade. Driving it down and into the earth while the woman's body continued forwards, now stumbling. Where his right fist would crash once more against the front of her chin to snap her head backwards in a spray of bloody spittle.

Fenris pressed forwards, balling his hands together as he charged after her flailing body to drop his shoulder into her middle and send her sprawling away from him in the dirt.

Relic of Enmity: Punch, punch, punch, all about her poor body, leaving her broken and bruised and bloody. That did not stop her, even nearing unconsciousness. In fact, a wicked grin appeared upon swollen, bleeding lips as she spun around as he came for her again. Her frostfire blade held horizontally for a moment, then twisted point first as a wave of celestial holy energy rolled down the flickering cold flames even as she skewered him upon his run towards her, and that blast of celestial smite echoed inside his body where she'd found a way in to pierce him.

A Cairn of Rage: He bent forwards as her blade sunk down into his stomach, blood spaying out to stain both fighters and the ground between them. When she drew it out those eyes flashed down and locked upon her own, hard as nails on an anvil his face loomed over her own. As her shield came as a streak in from the side she felt as though she had struck a wall. His hand catching and holding the thing still, as if frozen in ice. Before her sword could move, she felt the pressure of those rough fingers close upon her hand and jerk it out wide. With a slight lean backwards and a step forwards, he smashed his forehead into the bridge of her nose before letting her go.

A Cairn of Rage: Fenris Vidarr, has won the Scar Match. Fenris, please role play out you placing the scar on your opponent.
A Cairn of Rage: Even as she fell backwards, he was on her. Landing atop her so that his knees found her shoulders and he sat upon her middle, pinning her beneath him. Drawing a savage looking knife from the top of his boot, Fenris set the blade upon the side of Astrid's neck and drew a deep line. Wiping the blade on her shirtfront before standing he turned from her and walked back towards where his shirt lay. Scars were a mark of pride in Alzorc, everyone worth their salt had them. Often to boast over around the hearth or hall or fire. "Get up, we still have work to do." Handfuls of snow gathered up and used to rub at his torso to let the blood wash clean before his shirt was drew back on.
A Cairn of Rage: Do both parties agree to both how this match was conducted and the result?
Relic of Enmity: Not scars gained from losing a battle! Those were a mark of incompetence, shame. She'd be more likely to scar herself to mark a win, then appreciate a scar from a battle lost. She grunted, hand moving to her neck as she rose. (Yes)
A Cairn of Rage: (Yes)
