Tesarik One: (ha sorry)
Tesarik One: Kyle 0/38 [20] || Cherith 0/33 [15] || Brendan 0/29 [16] (0/12)
Tesarik One: Mistakes, let me know.
Tesarik One: Ok! So, Cherith and Brendan continue on their journey to
Sarkotos. They have come quite a long way, and have reached the mountains.
Information gleaned from various villages and towns have pointed them in the
direction of the
Tesarik One: nearest mountain pass as trying to pass the mountains on
horseback would be extremely difficult. Kyle, after turning the brigands into
the authorities, has joined them yet again whether by choice or by running
into them on the same
Tesarik One: road that he is taking on his journies (up to player). It is
morning, and their day holds the start of heading through the mountain pass.
As they awaken, they hear the tell-tale sounds of hoofbeats coming from the
mountain upon the
Tesarik One: dirt road. Whoever or whatever it is, is riding fast.
a merciful edge: Either way he ran into them, it mattered little to him. He
knew where they were going, and had in fact come from there, so he'd offered
to act as a guide! They were easy enough to get along with, so he certainly
wouldn't mind the
a merciful edge: company, and if they could use the help, all's the better.
It gave him something to do apart from wander about, to boot. Wandering with
a purpose made him much more likely to not just vanish from the face of the
earth, after all.
The Lunar Beacon: Up until their last encounter, their journey had been
quiet and combat free for the most part. Sure, they gave each other bruises
as he trained her, but it made for an enoyable trip thus far. As they met up
with Kyle once more, he
The Lunar Beacon: did his best to make the man feel welcome amongst them.
He'd proven good company so far, and didn't mind going out of his way to
avoid too much bloodshed. Qualities more folks could do with.
Tesarik One: Cherith rolled over in her bedroll, the sound of the horse's
hoofbeats awakening her. She was sleeping by the fire, nice and warm even if
it had died down quite a bit during the night. She suddenly bolted upright
and reached for the
Tesarik One: weapon at her side, as her free hand pushed her messy slept-in
hair out of her face. "What's that?"
The Lunar Beacon: Hearing the sounds of a horse traveling at quick speed, he
was reaching for his shield, strapping it into place as he kept an eye out
for what was going on. "Not entirely sure, just be prepared."
a merciful edge: Oh right, yes! Hoofbeats. He glanced in the direction they
were coming from, having just been sitting around meditating and all that
good stuff he tended to do during downtime. He stood up and gathered up his
weapons, shifting them
a merciful edge: into their proper places on his back, but didn't draw any
just yet. "Indeed. May not be hostile, for all we know."
Tesarik One: Two horses with riders were stirring up the dust in the morning
light, and a wagon pulled by two more horses with a driver and a hound at his
side came barreling down the road, kicking up all sorts of dust and rocks.
When they were
Tesarik One: spotted, the riders tugged the reins and shouted out in
Bryonish to the wagon driver, who slowed as well. The wagon driver kept
looking over his shoulder, as if he expected something to be following them.
Tesarik One: One of the riders called out to them in common, "Hallo! May we
share your fire?"
Tesarik One: "Share the fire? We need be gone! We've no time to rest, not
while that creature remains!" shouted the wagon driver.
a merciful edge: Well lucky them, he spoke Bryonish! He spoke just about
everything, for that matter. He noted the driver looking over his shoulder
the way he was, then looked back to the rider that'd called out to them. It
wasn't his fire to share,
a merciful edge: after all. At least not as he saw it. The driver, however,
that was interesting all over again. He looked to the driver and lifted a
brow, then replied in Bryonish, assuming that's what he was shouting in. "And
what creature would
a merciful edge: that be?"
Tesarik One: He was speaking in Bryonish, so Kyle would be privy to the
conversation. "It will not follow, we must let the horses rest." The rider
dismounted and tied up his horse to graze by the small stream, as did the
other rider. The wagon
The Lunar Beacon: He looked to Cherith for a slight moment as the question
was asked. He'd been about to answer the question when the driver spoke up.
They wouldn't be using the fire too much longer, so he prompted them to find
a spot, making sure
Tesarik One: driver pulled up and jumped off, he seemed uneasy still. "A
two-headed giant!"
The Lunar Beacon: none got too close to Cherith. Somewhat on alert.
Tesarik One: Cherith was up, rolling her bedroll and getting the fire to
blaze again. She moved to her own horse and began making ready to leave,
though she kept alert as to what the others were doing, and saying when she
could understand it.
a merciful edge: "Hm." He nodded once and offered the man a smile. "Well if
it does follow, unlikely as it may be, I'm sure it can be dealt with by us
here. No need to be alarmed." He looked over to his two companions and
switched to Doxenian.
a merciful edge: "Seems there's a two-headed giant that may or may not be in
pursuit of these fellows. I've taken the liberty of volunteering us to deal
with it if it does show up, though I understand completely if that's
unacceptable. I'm sure I
a merciful edge: can handle it myself." Confident? Always.
Tesarik One: The driver moved to the fire, after pulling out a few items to
heat up some water by the flames. "It's bout twice the size of a grown man,
with two heads. I saw it with m'own eyes! Standing there all menacing-like.
The stench on the
Tesarik One: air made me want to vomit."
The Lunar Beacon: He just grinned as he heard Kyle, considering it only for
a brief moment. "Two-headed Giant? Well . . . supposing they didn't do
something to provoke it, I can't think of any other reason why it'd be
chasing them. I've no problem
Tesarik One: (Knowledge - Monster Lore Check)
The Lunar Beacon: dealing with it if it's required." He set about finishing
up his preperations, checking and then double-checking their supplies.
OnlineHost: Tesarik One rolled 1 20-sided die: 13

Tesarik One: "A two-headed giant? Hmm. Could be an ettin." She'd never seen
one except drawn in books, and that made her a little excited to see it, even
though she knew enough lore to know it was a dangerous foe.
a merciful edge: He'd translate the driver's ramblings, in case that might
be more helpful when Cherith was doin' her thinking on what it might be, then
rubbed at his pinky stump a bit. "No sense in being too worried about it,
though. I highly doubt
Tesarik One: "They do not bathe, and their skin hardens from the filth and
dirt." She added, as she continued to pack up, and glanced down the road
towards the mountains.
a merciful edge: it could manage to sneak very well." Giants tended not to.
Tesarik One: "You'd all best take another path, unless you want to tangle
with that critter." Said the rider as he crouched by the flames, warming
himself.
The Lunar Beacon: He looked between Kyle and Cherith, a slight grin
spreading on his lips. "I've halfa mind to ignore their advice at choosing
another path, I'll be honest. I'm usually not one to go looking for a fight,
but I'd feel safer going
The Lunar Beacon: into the mountains knowing that at least one denizen
wouldn't be coming in a fury."
Tesarik One: "They tend to be quite evil, so they very well may have acted
unprovoked." She stuffed the rest of her belongings in the packs and waited
to see what the two men said.
Tesarik One: She grinned and nodded. "Three against one...er... well two. I
think we can take it."
a merciful edge: "If it attacked them unprovoked, it could well attack
others. It ought to be dealt with." Trying to capture an Ettin, he hadn't
done that before. He wasn't sure if it was even a good idea! But he'd never
know without trying, now
a merciful edge: would he? "Perhaps it's just angry about something and can
be convinced to knock it off." He shrugged. Either that or it could be
crippled, as far as he was concerned.
The Lunar Beacon: He knocked his fist upon his shield, nodding to them both.
"Well, if it wants to deal with us peacefully, I'll not pass up the chance.
I imagine he won't be an easy foe, regardless of our numbers. It would be
best to ensure it
Tesarik One: The three men around the fire were talking low, whether they
thought the others were crazy for talking about going to fight it, or thought
they were being brave couldn't be told. Though, after a moment, one rider
stood and headed to
The Lunar Beacon: can't do any harm though, I agree. We'll need to be
cautious in how we go about it."
Tesarik One: the pack upon his horse, and tugged out three potion bottles.
He handed one out to each of them. "Well, least I can do. Healing potions."
(1 10hp heal potion to Kyle, Cherith and Brendan)
Tesarik One: She curtsied as she was given the potion bottle, and tucked it
away. "Many thanks, sir." Once she was ready to go, she mounted Merlini, and
began to walk about the camp, waiting for the two men.
The Lunar Beacon: He accepted the bottle graciously as it was brought over
to him, nodding his head in thanks. "We'll see to it your kindness is
returned when we're able to do so. Hopefully with ending this threat."
a merciful edge: He took the bottle when it was offered and tucked it into
his pack, offering the man a smile and a nod. "Thanks, friend. Best wishes on
your travels." And then, if the others were ready, he'd start heading on down
the path, humming
a merciful edge: a pleasant little tune, left hand resting on the hilt of
the short sword sticking out beside his lower back.
Tesarik One: Down the path they'd go, the mountains rising up before them
about a half hour down the path. The pass was large enough for two wagons to
pass side by side, one coming and one going usually. It was rocky, but much
easier than
Tesarik One: trying to cross the mountains. There was a spot about halfway
through that due to the rocky outcroppings had to be passed through one at a
time (one wagon's width). It was darker, and colder in the pass though Bright
Eye could be
Tesarik One: seen high above.
Tesarik One: (brb)
The Lunar Beacon: He wasn't one for conversation in times when they were
looking for things, especially trouble. He'd upgraded his weaponry thanks to
the group of bandits that had tried to waylay them. His hand was ready to
reach for that
The Lunar Beacon: broadsword and put it to use, though for now he kept his
shield readied. He didn't know how well he'd be able to fare against any
sort of Giant kin. Their strength was, well, legendary. He was ever
watchful, looking out for Kyle
The Lunar Beacon: and Cherith as they headed through the pass.
a merciful edge: Well that was why he had his cloak! It might be a rather
ragged looking thing, but it was still warm enough, and provided some
protection. He was still humming. Not conversing, since he didn't want to
distract them, but being too
a merciful edge: quiet was not something he was good at at all, which was
part of why he probably wasn't wanted on stealthy sorts of tasks. As for his
equipment, he had exactly the same things that he'd had when they last ran
into him! He may have
a merciful edge: not even changed clothes, it was hard to tell with the
cloak on.

Tesarik One: Ettin remains undetected.
Tesarik One: She moved along in the pass, looking upwards on both sides, and
then even behind them as her horse moved forward. She looked over her
shoulder towards Brendan and gave him a smile, then turned forward again to
watch Kyle move along
Tesarik One: while he hummed. She didn't figure she'd stay smiling for long
but for now it was quite pleasant and she tapped her fingers upon her polearm
to the time of the song he hummed as they moved along.
The Lunar Beacon: He gave her a wink as she smiled back to him, a nod of
reassurance given to her. Truthfully, it would be the most dangerous thing
he'd done in a while, but he'd not shy away from the task. "A true trial,
we'll face in an Ettin.
a merciful edge: Must not be as bad smelling as that guy had been going on
about if they still couldn't smell it! He made sure to stay at the front of
the group so he'd take the brunt of any attack if the ettin did somehow
manage to ambush them,
The Lunar Beacon: Big louts with clubs, to hear the stories told."
a merciful edge: particularly since he was the one making all the noise and
probably drawing the thing's attention to them. He was keeping an eye out for
the beast, at least. Trying to, anyway. He really wasn't the best at
searching for things.
Tesarik One: As they got closer to the smaller section of the pass, they
would not miss the scent of foulness on the air. It could not be covered up
in any way, really, as the ettins were not magical. It was the foul stench of
years and years of
Tesarik One: filth of all sorts upon their clothing and body and hair. On
the breeze it was foul enough, but they'd be able to tell that if they got
close enough to the creature it could very well make them sick.
a merciful edge: Oh goodness. He caught of whiff of that now, and his
humming stopped, since it just meant he'd have to breathe more. "By the
Passions...blech." Best way to sum up his thoughts that he could think of!
Tesarik One: She wrinkled her nose as that stench came upon the air. She
swallowed, feeling her tummy grow a bit sick. "How can the creature not
sicken itself with a stench that terrible?" She pulled a handkerchief up and
wrapped it around her
The Lunar Beacon: "Of all the times to not wear a helmet . . . could at
least keep incense in them when I wore them. Although, I don't think it
would do much on this odor." He took very shallow breaths, not wanting the
stench to affect him too much
a merciful edge: (brb)
Tesarik One: nose and mouth, it had a fine soft scent of her mother's
perfume, she thought that may help a little.
The Lunar Beacon: from performing his role.
Tesarik One: Well, as terrible as it smelled, at least they knew their enemy
was up ahead! In fact, as they moved along the pass they'd see the 13 foot
tall two-headed creature sitting on one of the outcroppings of rocks about 10
feet above the
Tesarik One: road, chewing on the remains of a mountain goat. The head of
the goat lay in the pass ahead of them, bleeding. The ettin had not spotted
them yet. (If anyone has a ranged attack and wishes to attack first, then go
for it).
a merciful edge: And he had his scarf! He pulled it up from his neck,
figuring his poor nose being at least a little protected would be better than
hiding his horrible neck scarring. So he tugged it up over his mouth and his
nose, but he'd just try
a merciful edge: and mostly breathe through his mouth anyway. Once they'd
spotted the creature he glanced back to them, then looked back to the
creature. He frowned when he saw the goat head though. Poor little goat!
The Lunar Beacon: He gave her a warm smile, putting on a brave front for
her. He wasn't worried, so much as troubled. Still, he'd take up the point
position, giving Kyle room to move as he would need, keeping Cherith back to
put her weapon to best
The Lunar Beacon: use. His shield was readied, and out came his sword.
Tesarik One: She did not have anything to reach the beast, but seeing it
eating a goat, which also made her sad, she decided that she needed to make
sure the thing didn't eat her horse! She dismounted and gave Merlini a smack
with a command to
Tesarik One: run, which he did. This would, no doubt, pull the attention of
the ettin but it might allow them to attack if it was more concerned about
the fleeing horse.
Tesarik One: The fleeing horse did gain the attention of both of the ettin's
heads and it rose quickly, chattering to each other in ettin (a pidgin of
orc, giant and goblinoid) and jumped down, twisting and drawing it's weapons
as it stared
Tesarik One: where the horse was running, "Should we catch it?" "Yes!"
a merciful edge: He looked at the Ettin to see what it was doing about the
horse, but wasn't going to try and be hostile first! And would polylingual
let him speak and understand that language? If so he might speak back at it.
Tesarik One: Yes it would!
The Lunar Beacon: He just shook his head as he tried to make sense of the
words spoken and opted to shut them out. He used the distraction to move
into closer position, careful to make as little noise as possible. Not
trying to sneak, but just move
The Lunar Beacon: closer and hopefully not clang his full plate armor
against anything as he moved about.
a merciful edge: "I don't know that you should. You might raise the ire of
the horse's owner, and we wouldn't want that, now would we?" Said as he moved
a bit away from the other two. No sense in being close enough to let the
ettin hit them all in
a merciful edge: one big ol' swing, after all. "And you seem like a couple
of handsome, reasonable fellows. Perhaps we could talk."
Tesarik One: "What's that chatter?" "I don't know!" It spun around and
stared across at Kyle. "He speaks like us." "But he don't look like us!"
There was a pause, as they seemed to be thinking, then
Tesarik One: in unison they roared and lifted their morningstars and rushed
for Kyle, both swinging upwards and attempting to come down at him. A head
commanded each arm, so it was like having two creatures but in one body!

ankles after daring behind it, going for that good ol' achilles tendon.

that made the most sense to him!

was caught by the new arrival. He halted his momentum, bringing his shield

yelled and he blinked.
The Lunar Beacon: "Did I mention there used to be a giant bear right there?"
He called out and laughed a little bit, clanging his shield with his sword
once more, seeking to gain the Ettin's attention. Back to that same leg he'd

The Lunar Beacon: he'd stab into the meat of the Ettin's thigh.

off Brendan's hand before he started healing him! "Thank you, but you should
save your energy in case it's needed later. I'll be right as rain in a
moment. Hello, what's
a merciful edge: this?" He spotted that cave, head tilting a bit. Was the
ettin walk up-able to get up there easily?
The Lunar Beacon: Well, that was definitely not an easy question to answer.
He looked between Cherith and Kyle, then back again at the Ettin. "She makes
a valid point. I can't deny that. Still . . . " His words trailed off as
he saw Kyle's own
Tesarik One: She moved over near Brendan and lifted up on her tiptoes to
whisper to him. "It is an evil monster. What do you think we should do with
it? If we leave it here, it will awaken and try to kill those that come
through. I have never
Tesarik One: heard of an ettin that was anything but insanely evil." Her
nice way of saying the thing was chaotic evil and unpredictable. A menace.
Tesarik One: Yes!
The Lunar Beacon: healing powers take effect, chuckling softly as he nodded
to that. "Indeed, and very well then." He gave his attention to Cherith,
nodding slowly as he laid a hand gently on her elbow a moment. "When you
attain your knighthood,
a merciful edge: Well then he'd use the ettin as a platform and get on up to
that cave, drawing his short sword to use as a torch, since it glowed so nice
and bright. He was done with the Ettin, so they could deal with it. He'd
rather not watch it
a merciful edge: if they did finish it off anyway.
The Lunar Beacon: it will be done with the knowledge that mercy can be a
strength. I feel confident we could handle it again if we let it live.
Letting it live though . . . the crux of the matter. I want to think on it
before I decide. It is the
The Lunar Beacon: only thing I know for sure on the matter."
Tesarik One: It was a small cavern, dusty and untrodden in many centuries it
seemed. There was ancient gold coins scattered about, gems, and other items.
Not a large hoard, but some things. Little did everyone know they passed by a
cave of
Tesarik One: treasure when they traversed this pass!
Tesarik One: She nodded. She did understand that, but she also considered
that someone might pass through that could not handle the beast. A family
with children, or merchants. She frowned and then saw that Kyle was going
into the opened cave.
Tesarik One: She moved away and climbed up the ettin to peer into the cave
as well. "What is this?" She kicked some of the gold coins about, then leaned
down to pick one up.
Tesarik One: In the cave---
Tesarik One: A cloak made of a bearskin.
Tesarik One: Magical boots.
The Lunar Beacon: In truth, his mind was made up. The creature was the
epitome of all that he stood in opposition to. He hauled the broadsword
around when they had left, severing first one head, then the other before
joining them in the cave.
Tesarik One: Several heavy vials filled with something black and thick.
Tesarik One: Maroon leather gauntlets with an odd sigil upon them.
Tesarik One: A silver clasp with a star shaped crystal upon it.
Tesarik One: A keenly balanced shield with sharpened edges.
a merciful edge: Well he could make a cloak of bearskin with the bear that
he'd killed! Or rather, have someone make it for him. Instead, though, he'd
probably take the pelt and have his cloak lined with it. He liked his cloak,
after all! It was
a merciful edge: suitably shabby. "Lots of goodies in here, it seems." He
didn't go for any of the gold, which was probably why he was so poor. He was
examining the other items, instead, they seemed more interesting. He liked
magic stuff, and nobody

a merciful edge: !
The Lunar Beacon: He looked a bit grim, keeping quiet, the actions he took
weighing heavily enough on his mind. He'd never be okay with taking a life,
it just wasn't in his make-up. Still, though mercy was a valued trait, he'd
save himself future
The Lunar Beacon: agony over the "what ifs" that may or may not have arisen
had they allowed the Ettin its life. He shifted around a few of the items,
testing the shield's weight and the fluidity of its movement, putting it
through a few practice
The Lunar Beacon: swings to get a feel for using the shield as a weapon.
Tesarik One: "Lots." She moved over to the star shaped crystal and picked
that up and looked it over. She wasn't sure what it did, but it was very
pretty. She tucked it away in a pocket. Glancing over she watched as Brendan
checked out the
Tesarik One: shield, then picked up one of the vials and looked at it, that
thick viscious black liquid she wasn't sure what it was at all.
a merciful edge: Shabby cloak he might enjoy well enough, but his boots were
getting rather worn. He moved over to the boots and picked them up, eyeing
them to see what sort of condition they were in, then held them against his
feet to compare the

Tesarik One: Cherith takes the crystal.
Tesarik One: Kyle takes the boots.
Tesarik One: Brendan takes the shield.
Tesarik One: Anyone want the gauntlets, or bearskin? Or leave it behind?
Everyone gets a vial of black stuff too.
Tesarik One: Actually we can take what we don't want to Maria to put in the
vault.
a merciful edge: Maria could have the bear head, but Kyle wanted that pelt!
The Lunar Beacon: (Cloak could be fun to have, but I don't wanna be greedy,
lol. I think the gaunts would serve Kyle better than Brendan)
Tesarik One: Not the brown bear, the magical bear cloak in the cave.
a merciful edge: (I know, was just stressing that haha)
Tesarik One: Kyle want the gauntlets?
a merciful edge: Nah, Brendan can have them.
a merciful edge: Or Cherith.
The Lunar Beacon: (Ok, I'll pass on the cloak then)
The Lunar Beacon: (Yeah, would be fun to see her throwing the glaive around)
Tesarik One: (Ok Cherith will take the gauntlets, Brendan can have the bear
cloak)
The Lunar Beacon: (Sounds good!)
Tesarik One: She gathered up what gold her pockets could carry, and a few
gems, and headed back down the ettin. Seeing that Brendan had decided to kill
it, she closed her eyes a moment when she reached the ground on the other
side, then turned
Tesarik One: and whistled for her horse. Merlini came running, and she
tucked the things away and mounted.
The Lunar Beacon: He gathered up enough gold to fill his coin pouch, and
gems to take for his own purposes. He did travel with a Lady, after all. He

Tesarik One: the pass mountain walls were built her voice echoed around and

dirge, perhaps for the fallen ettin.
a merciful edge: Hey, there was one of those languages he'd actually taken
the time to learn, instead of just somehow knowing how to speak it. He smiled
faintly when he heard the singing, then looked to Brendan and nodded. "Fair
enough. Suppose this
a merciful edge: thing would've been tough to imprison anyway. Any idea what
would be appropriate to do with the corpse?" He did try at least to be
respectful of the dead!
The Lunar Beacon: I was thinking it'd be best to burn it, though I don't
know if I have what it takes to stomach the stench of it if we were to do so.
Worst comes to worst, we just drag it off to the side and make a cairn for
it. Should be plenty
The Lunar Beacon: of rocks for it, even with the size of the body."
The Lunar Beacon: He quieted and listened to Cherith's song, giving a short
whistle for Arondel to come. He had rope, and the horse was strong enough to
be put to use in moving the corpse to a less inconvenient place to perform
whatever rite they
The Lunar Beacon: decided to perform.
a merciful edge: "Hm." He nodded at that, and kept at skinning the bear!
With all his time spent wandering about the wilderness he at least knew how
to do that himself, even if he didn't have his own knife for it. And he
certainly wasn't going to
a merciful edge: use either of his swords.
The Lunar Beacon: Well, he'd found himself without a knife, but he wasn't
impartial for his weaponry to be used in a pinch. He offered up his
shortsword to aide Kyle with the task. Not the beest tool, but it would be
far from the worst for the task
The Lunar Beacon: he was setting out to do. While Cherith scouted ahead, he
set about rigging a harness to drag the Ettin's corpse along. He'd not be
riding the horse much today, so the exertion wouldn't be too much. At least,
he was hoping that.

Tesarik One: Kyle 0/38 [20] || Cherith 0/33 [15] || Brendan 0/29 [16] (0/12)

The Lunar Beacon: He just grinned as he heard Kyle, considering it only for
a brief moment. "Two-headed Giant? Well . . . supposing they didn't do

chasing them. I've no problem

Tesarik One: "A two-headed giant? Hmm. Could be an ettin." She'd never seen
one except drawn in books, and that made her a little excited to see it, even
though she knew enough lore to know it was a dangerous foe.

Tesarik One: "You'd all best take another path, unless you want to tangle

It was darker, and colder in the pass though Bright

shield readied.

The Lunar Beacon: closer and hopefully not clang his full plate armor

a merciful edge: "I don't know that you should.
A head
commanded each arm, so it was like having two creatures but in one body!

a merciful edge: (12 + 13 = 25, but of course it'll only do enough to put it
unconscious at its HP limit, as outlined in my Merciful flaw)
Tesarik One: Ettin 60/60 KO [15] || Kyle 13/38 [20] || Cherith 0/33 [15] ||
Brendan 0/29 [16] (0/12)
a merciful edge: And of course he landed quite gracefully, considering he
still hut from getting smacked by that morningstar. Only a hint of a stumble
and a grunt. He whirled on the ettin then and lifted his sword, but of course
rather than finish
Tesarik One: That ettin fell with a thud, blocking the way partially for
them to move past. As it's head hit the side of the pass's wall, rock fell
away, revealing a small cave about 10 feet above the
Tesarik One: ground.
a merciful edge: it off, he sheathed the weapon instead, and dropped to a
knee, closing his eyes and taking a few breaths, letting that magic come in
to knit up his innards that'd been all rattled by that hit he took. (13 self
healing)
The Lunar Beacon: With the heat of combat now abated, he walked up to Kyle's
side, resting his left hand on the man's shoulder, imparting the full portion
of his healing into the man(12 points healing done to Kyle). "Well fought.
We're very
The Lunar Beacon: fortunate to have you along with us. Even moreso as a
guide."
a merciful edge: Beat him to it, sucker! Mwahahaha.
The Lunar Beacon: (Bwahaha)
Tesarik One: "Won't it just wake up, and attack whoever comes after us
through the pass?" She frowned, she wasn't a cruel person but she also knew
that this creature was evil, and would attempt to kill everything and
everyone it could. She
Tesarik One: didn't see how knocking it out and leaving it in the pass would
solve anything.
Tesarik One: Kyle 0/38 [20] || Cherith 0/33 [15] || Brendan 0/29 [16] (0/12)
a merciful edge: "I suppose it's probably too much to hope that it'd learn
the error of its ways, but I don't kill creatures that can hold
conversation." Unless they were undead, but that wasn't killing, since they
were already dead! "If you wish to
a merciful edge: finish it off, that's your decision to make." He brushed
off Brendan's hand before he started healing him!
He liked
magic stuff, and nobody
a merciful edge: hid a bunch of regular treasure with a lot of gold and gems
a merciful edge: !
He moved over to the boots and picked them up, eyeing
them to see what sort of condition they were in, then held them against his
feet to compare the
a merciful edge: size. Ought to do nicely.
He
opted to wait on finding out what all his gear did, but he was already
favoring the shield, having

shoulder, motioning towards the road once more. "Well, I want you to know
that although I respect your decision to not slay the Ettin, I took it upon
myself to be sure it would do
a merciful edge: He headed on out of the cave and frowned when he saw the
state of the ettin, but didn't say anything. He just hopped out, moved over
to his bear, and assuming he could find a suitable knife, he set about
skinning the thing. He might
a merciful edge: need to borrow one from one of them.
The Lunar Beacon: no future harm. Forgive me if that offends you, but I
wouldn't lie to you on it, and I wouldn't leave you to see it without telling
you first."
The Lunar Beacon: He'd gladly be able to offer up a knife to the effort he
was setting about. It was to serve for their food, after all!
a merciful edge: "I understand. As you can see if you've taken a good look
at me, not killing my foes hasn't particularly worked out well in my favor.
As long as you respect that I won't follow suit, and avoid turning into some
sort of bloodthirsty
a merciful edge: beast of a person, I don't see why we can't still be good
friends."
The Lunar Beacon: "I'm very gladdened to hear you say such. I don't expect
I'll be going around wanting to end the life of all that we come up against.
I won't shy away from the hard choices, though I'll do my best to ensure
neither you nor the
Tesarik One: The bear was messy business, and she left the men to it.
Scouting ahead a bit, she moved along her horse and peered around and along
the cavern walls, wondering if other hidden caves existed. She began to sing
softly, though the way
The Lunar Beacon: Lady Cherith needs to be bothered with making them."
Tesarik One: the pass mountain walls were built her voice echoed around and
came to the ears of the men skinning the bear. She was singing in elven, a
dirge, perhaps for the fallen ettin.
a merciful edge: Hey, there was one of those languages he'd actually taken
the time to learn, instead of just somehow knowing how to speak it. He smiled
faintly when he heard the singing, then looked to Brendan and nodded. "Fair
Tesarik One: Log Off
