Tesarik One: Mistakes, IM me.
Tesarik One: It has not even been a week since a team was sent to rid an
abandoned village, Darrow's Crossing near upper Sarkotos, of the undead
wandering it's lonely streets. The undead were appearing in droves, all
seemingly connected to the
Tesarik One: prophecy of the triple eclipse that was set to occur at some
point in the future - when, no one knew. While the above ground had been
cleared, through some intelligence gathered by some folks it was determined
that Darrow's
Tesarik One: Crossing still had some issues, and a team was being gathered
to be sent below ground. Those who had gone there before had seen the goblins
come out of the cellar doors, and there was always the Shrine which was known
to have crypts
Tesarik One: below it. So, Port Union would teleport our group right in the
center of the abandoned town this time. Stepping free, it was daylight and
looked about the same as it had before save for rotting goblin corpses here
and there. (Begin

Ashton Locke: Darrow's Crossing? Surely if he'd ever been there, it'd been
long enough ago that he didn't really remember it, so port union it was.
Safer than trying to teleport in to some old memory on his own, anyway. Not
to mention he had no

to the other kingdoms, longer still since he allowed for himself to be
counted amongst the ranks of the Heart. Though now that he was there, it was

of her cloak pulled over her head and only silvery curls revealed poking out.
It was only her respect for Maria that kept her going time after time with a

Just sort of staring off into space and remaining mostly silent for now.

tolerance. She stepped

Tempt of Black: While she'd been to the Heart to visit once or twice now, it

Tesarik One: The ruins were once an agricultural town, whose residents had
been run off by hill giants. Huge stones were still embedded in some of the
walls. Most of the roofs were gone. The whole place was laid
Tesarik One: out in an X shape with overgrown fields around it. There are
cottages of stone walls, no roof, and cellar doors on the outside; two stone
barns with slate roofs; a granary which was a row of three
Tesarik One: stone beehive looking buildings, a spring house which was where
fresh water was located and a one story fortresslike structure called the

Tesarik One: Their task lay below the village. Every cottage had an old
cellar door, some half ripped off and they were also made aware that there
were crypts below the Shrine.
Ashton Locke: Work? He wrinkled his nose just at the sound of that word. It
surely didn't sound like a fun way to spend his evening, but alas, here he
was! He'd just have to make the best of it. Perhaps he'd be able to see
something more in
questing requiem: Long as the day found them largely in the light, the
minstrel wasn't going to bother with the shadow magics that were far more his
forte. Not that this stopped the minstrel from drawing on a little of that
negative energy either
Ashton Locke: Shroudsight than he could on the regular visual spectrum! So
went his thinking as he moved over to one of those torn open cellar doors and
peeked down into it. (Skill: Shroudsight, if it'll reveal anything
pertinent.)
A Cairn of Rage: A rough clap to the shoulder of Rhyss and another to
Requiem as he passed by. They had to go below the city. That much had been
said. It stood to reason that the biggest house would have the deepest
cellar.....which very well may
Indrila: Indrila nodded towards Rhyss and glanced around at the others with
slightly narrowed eyes only for a moment, then she gave her attention to the
village around them. It had certainly seen better days. She drew in a deep
breath and

green eyes. She drew a breath, huffing it out softly and immediately.

A Cairn of Rage: (Check out the big brain on Brad)
Ashton Locke: Well, at least he hadn't seen anything that made him want to
panic. He wasn't sure he even had the energy to panic, really, so that was
good. He stuck his hands into his jacket pockets, then headed over to the
shrine along with
Ashton Locke: Indrila.
Tempt of Black: and on she walked, following a short ways after the others.
A turn of her eyes fell over to see the ghost elf ahead, and then again to
view the one she'd met at the Inne not long back. -- Pressing on still. -d-
Tesarik One: Indrila and Fenris were heading in the right direction, and the
door was still open from days ago. Inside, two goblins lay rotten, looted
already. There was a ladder that went up to the roof, and a door across the
way that no doubt
Tesarik One: led to below the shrine.
Nobilis Arcanus: ::That shoulder did drop from the impact of that clap, the
arm a bit numb from that motion but he rolled the shoulder a little to get it
into motion while turning and followed along. Falling into himself, eyes

A Cairn of Rage: "If you don't mind?" Fenris gave a slight gesture of both

he was going to break it in.

ajar though she took a moment to quietly speak in the White Tongue to cast a
spell allowing her to see in the dark. (Nighteye - Darksight) She did not

Indrila: large man going ahead of her, and stepped aside, blinking a bit as
it seemed he was going to charge an already open door. Then he stopped and
she reached out and opened the door for him and waved her hand. "After you."
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He himself was moving forward, powdered carrot removed
from his overcoat. The powder vanished for the casting of the darkvision
spell.::
Nobilis Arcanus: (Darkvision - Duration 24 hours - Self)
Ashton Locke: He perked up a bit when he heard White Tongue, but only
because he was so close. He then gave Indrila a tap on the shoulder before
she moved through the door and leaned in to whisper.
Tempt of Black: As the progression went forward (when it did), Kana kept
pace along with. She kept alert, letting her eyes adjust as the darkness fell
in, skirting away the light. (Darksight, too.)
Indrila: She stared at Dorian a moment, and then gave a brief nod and then
spoke the same words of the spell in White Tongue, this time targetting
Dorian. (Nighteye - Darksight on Dorian).
Ashton Locke: He smiled a little and offered a polite bow of his head,
speaking...well, more audibly, but still barely above that whisper. "Thank
you." And then he blinked a bit and stared into the dark for a moment to get
himself used to that.
Tesarik One: It was a small crypt, no bigger than the building above. Only
the most important officials had been interred here, in stone coffins on
every wall.
Tesarik One: They were lucky (maybe) because whoever had been here before
had made no effort to hide the trapdoor in one corner of the crypt. The door
was nearly ripped off it's hinges and there were stairs.....leading further
downwards, a
Tesarik One: putrid smell rising upwards.
Indrila: She glanced around, reaching out to run her hand along the coffins,
feeling to see if this place was hallowed or unhallowed. She shook her head,
if it had ever been hallowed it was no longer. She moved around to see if any

A Cairn of Rage: Fenris was something of a traditionalist. He liked to stick
to the basics. One part wooden beam. Three parts rotten goblin clothing. Two
parts oil. Strike flint and steel above. End result, the Northman walked on
with his torch.
Indrila: stone coffin lids had looked like they'd been moved recently. One
could never be sure with an undead infestation like they had.
Tesarik One: These coffins had not been disturbed, and still had a thick
layer of dust across the stone surface.
questing requiem: " Well isn't that nice and telling. " Mostly the whole
being ripped off its hinges part put up quite a few alarm bells. While others
improvised a means to see and one Ghost Elf investigated the coffin.. the

Tempt of Black: That smell curled under her nose and made her stomach feel
as if it'd sucked into her throat. Horrid. Observing as Indrila inspected the
coffins, she'd slip forward a little more to view the busted trap and the
stairs nearby..

that she barely allowed her voice to rise above. Once she'd looked at every

Nobilis Arcanus: ::He moved on over and would drop down near the trapdoor

eyes to the stairs. From beneath the warmage coat he withdrew a small

took a knee. That smell was disgusting, but she had smelled the like before.
"This is the way."
Tesarik One: You see what has already been described, nothing new.
Nobilis Arcanus: the contanier he would pour out the preserved eye and would
simply whisper to himself. Next he tossed the eye to roll and bounce down the
steps before inacting the magic eye spell. His own eyes closing.::
I Yield to None: -The silent drow simply moved with the group, his gaze
moving around as they moved, his mind working over any appropriate poison he
may wish use in the immediate future.-
questing requiem: Always into the dark, putrid places with these necromantic

Deathless and White Necromancers. The things Girard considered were trivial

Tempt of Black: getting a bigger whiff of the hurl-worthy brew crawling up
from the depths of the place. Hearing Indrila's words, Kana peered down into
the blackness a bit more. The view was cut short to observe instead Rhyss'

Tempt of Black: very interesting! -d-
questing requiem: someone to head down or otherwise began the progress
himself. Death-Touched among the undead.. why hello oh rotten putrid cousins!
-d
Indrila: Indrila would have gone down the stairs, but Rhyss dropped an
eyeball down there. She assumed, to take a look, so she rose upwards and
folded her arms across her chest and waited for the go-ahead. "What do you
see, Rhyss?"
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He turned his head first left, then right as if looking
in those directions before finally speaking,:;old sandstone catacombs and two
pathways, one to the west and one to the south. That is about it except for
sootstains. *D
A Cairn of Rage: Fenris watched as Rhyss worked his own magic and how
A'kana's own eyes grew with interest. Spellbenders always seemed to find
wonder in each other's wicked twistings of energies and forces beyond his
preferred medium. That of the
Indrila: "Let us move." When he gave the description, she began to move down
the stairs into the catacombs below using her darksight to see around. He'd
not spotted any undead it seemed, unless they were hiding. She moved swiftly,
tugging
A Cairn of Rage: raw, physical and most importantly, mundane realm. Hearing
Rhyss speak his findings, he had to admit, at times......these types were
handy. Saving them all the headache of wandering about in the dark. "Which
path is cleaner?"
Indrila: her sword out when she stepped foot on the sandstone floor. This
place was much, much larger than the other areas. And much older. She ran her
fingers along the sandstone wall and peered both the ways offered to them.
Ashton Locke: Well...if they were moving, they were moving! He was enjoying
a little rest, leaning against the wall, since it was much too crowded for
everybody to go down all at once, or even look all at once. He'd head down
after the rest of
Ashton Locke: them, since he'd be less than useless up front anyhow.
A Cairn of Rage: Whatever path was cleaner, or rather less cluttered would
be the one most often taken...and the way to go.
Tempt of Black: Kana tipped her head, turning a look back to see the doomed
one not far off, and then followed after Indrila. She took care not to step
on any magic eyeballs along the way--still trying to think over that spell
even as her feet
Tempt of Black: found the floor below. -d-
Tesarik One: It was obvious many more steps had gone in and out the south
rather than the west, but both showed signs of use.
Nobilis Arcanus: There is footsteps in the dust going both ways though there
is more going in the south pathway,::he was opening his eyes, a quick shake
of his head to re-orient himself with his own true perception before. Rising

A Cairn of Rage: Fenris turned south, and walked towards not only towards
the front, but assumed it. He had tried to be kind as he moved up through the
ranks, but if that didn't work a small bump from an elbow and a gentle urging
from a hand did the
questing requiem: Whether the first to reach the floor or one of the middle

having that song in his head to distract him away from noticing much of what
surronded his day to
Indrila: Once she'd looked around, she began to look at it differently,
using her Shroudsight ability to see into the ghost world. Just in case.....
and her black eyes got wide when she saw it, and she pointed in front of
them. "Wraith!"
A Cairn of Rage: trick just fine.
Nobilis Arcanus: he was remaining alert as well, hell half his mind was
always on reworking his spells to be adaptable.::
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He looked up hearing Indrila, hands wreathed in
electrical but he frowned, the warmage coat was jerked open and he had a
slender length of wood in his gloved hand.::
Tesarik One: The wraith had been just fine hiding and watching, but then the
ghost elf pointed it out on the ethereal plane so POOF it appeared to them
all, a floating horrifying creature with long claws looking like sooty shadow
were wisping
Tesarik One: off of them. It flew towards Indrila and attempted to reach out
and touch her sending pain through every synapses as it's claws ripped across
her.

Ashton Locke: place with this group...and yet he continued tagging along

Indrila: Onward then. They were here to fight undead and by Kanesh she was

A Cairn of Rage: Fen gave a faint tip of his head towards the lever as they

Tesarik One: Missed A'kana.
A Cairn of Rage: Up rolled Fenris, like a thunderhead over the Knockskulls
the Zorcan continued his path of open hostility. Moving into the horde that
tried to grab at A'kana, limbs snapping, bones cracking, flesh tearing
beneath those hands. (ZT4)

Tempt of Black: (I'm noting the badge for adding this week, too.)
Tesarik One: When the zombies all fell over, the portcullis began to slowly
lift once again. They could go no further in this area, but there was still
the West Crypt to explore, unless they were done with the undead and wanted
to go home!
Tesarik One: (Ok so that means no one has to send it in yes? You're adding
it for us?)
Tempt of Black: (Correct. :) )
questing requiem: Done with the undead.. Girard at least could never be
completely done with them.. the nuisance of having been born through notably
necromanctic means. The hordes had fallen at least.. leaving Requiem at least
intent on exploring..
questing requiem: there was bound to be a necromancer somewhere in the
tunnels after all! " Lets keep moving.. there is a source and I mean to see
where its scurrying about. " -d
A Cairn of Rage: Fen shook himself violently, like a dog tossing water once
it climbed from the lake. Pieces of zombie-ick flying to land where it would
before he his hand down the front of his face, sucking his teeth slightly
before spitting to one
Nobilis Arcanus: ::He chcked to make sure the zombies were just twitching,
head tilted and a couple balls of flame struck a zombie that twitched to
much. Turning he moved from the area silently, head tilted some working
towards the west end of the
Nobilis Arcanus: crypt and that pathway now.::
Tempt of Black: Having set her bone bow back in place, A'kana turned and
leaned to the wall for a moment. She watched the others turn their way back
out, pushing up to again follow amongst them. She got a bit of the
zombie-flicking from Fenris,
A Cairn of Rage: side. "Requiem has a point, job ain't done." One small
smirk and quick wink given as he moved towards where they needed to go.
Ashton Locke: His psicrystal was well on its way to bully someone in the
group since there were no more zombies to pick on, but he used a bit of
telekinesis to yank it back into his hand and stuff it in his pocket, then
wrinkled his nose when it
Indrila: She crawled down the shelves and landed with a soft thud of her
boots when she got to the floor, and looked around. This place needed
hallowed, but that took time because it was quite large. They had to make
sure the other portion
Ashton Locke: was suggested they continue on. He let out a sigh, then
...well, stood there and waited for someone else to move along first so he
could drag his feet and follow along.
Indrila: was cleared through. She moved beside Dorian, hand reaching out to
grip his upper arm a moment. no the job was not done. She made haste towards
the other passageway, she apparently didn't have enough sense to be afraid of
going
Indrila: first, or second if Fenris was ahead of the small ghost elf.
I Yield to None: -The drow watched the ghost elf climb down and lifted an
eyebrow at her behavior. He remained silent though a half smirk did form on
his dark mouth as he thought of the irony.-
Tempt of Black: narrowing her eyes over at him, but a grin showed just below
that. A single flick of flesh from her arm and the Islander pressed on,
nodding and smiling her admiration to the ghost elf along the way. Her
zombie-vs-zombie spell was
Tempt of Black: splendid, indeed. -d-
Ashton Locke: Grabbing onto his arm! Was he being dragged along, perhaps? If
not, he'd settle to the back of the group once again. He might want to do a
hundred other things (who wouldn't?) but that didn't mean he'd ditch everyone
here. Hell with
Ashton Locke: all these folks he didn't particularly feel in danger, anyway.
Indrila: Indrila nodded back to A'kana, somber as always though, gripping
her sword in hand though she'd been using magic so far. At least her
darksight was still working.
Tesarik One: Five sarcophagi sit in the center with shelves on the wall full
of dead bodies. There is a heavily fortified door against the back wall, and
standing before the door is a ghost. A very well armored
Tesarik One: ghost it looks like. He does not attack the group though when
you all appear before him, he merely stares at you all then speaks up, "What
do you seek deep within these ancient crypts, adventurers?"
A Cairn of Rage: Oration. A well known strong suit of Fenris. Which he
proved such, by pushing Girard out to talk to the ghost. Minstrels did that
after all. Talk.
I Yield to None: -The drow looked back the way they had come and then the
way everyone was going. Moving in so he was at the end of the moving group he
simply looked around before coming to a stop with the others and listening to
the talking ghostly
I Yield to None: tin can.-
Nobilis Arcanus: ::Well now he would let someone else speak since he doubted
the ghost wanted to hear eradication of the undead in this area. Turning he
would look towards the group, head tilted a bit.::
questing requiem: Progress led them to .. a ghost.. and a chatty one, had
they run into one of those of late since the Spiralling Staircase? No, he did
not believe so. Fenris's push did send the Minstrel forth.. and why not? He
was of ghostly lineage
Indrila: She came to a halt and seeing the ghost did not instantly attack
and in fact was asking questions, she bowed respectfully and stepped forward.
Though if the bard wanted to take point, she'd surely stand to the side.
Though she did
Tempt of Black: Kana grinned some, seeing Fenris elect the minstrel to
speak.
Indrila: whisper to the ghost, "We have been sent to clear the blight of
undead from this place, ghostly sir. What do you guard here?"
Tesarik One: "Ahh it certainly is a blight, crawling around. Do you know if
you go that way you will find hordes of crawling hands? That is all, crawling
hands." The ghost pointed towards a wall, with a close look a door could be
made out. "I
Tesarik One: guard my King. King Coronas of Valden."
questing requiem: .. nice of the ghost elf to beat him to it. Leaving the
minstrel quieting himself with only a slight frown. Well there was no reason
not to continue where the priestess left off. " Crawling hands you say? Hm..
" Ah well the spirit
questing requiem: provided a detail he could ponder over in the form of
mentioning a King. [ Knowledge check - Nobility & Royalty ]

A Cairn of Rage: then?"
Tesarik One: eternity and protect my lord's tomb from any unrest at the
