You want to be a DM? Wonderful! Contact the Quest Mod and let her know of your interest, and answer any questions you may have. You will then be asked to write up and have an outline for an adventure you wish to practice-run. Once you write that up and submit it to the Quest Mod and Storyline Leader, we will go over and fine tune anything if need be. After which, you will be asked to run it with at least one Moderator in attendance. It may be HIGHLY helpful if you run a mission or two for a small group of people before attempting to gain your DM reg. The Quest Mod has the right to request new players to the game to run missions first to make sure they have learned the system.
Be sure you understand our rules completely before attempting to take on a DM position. New DM's are considered "Junior DM's", but once you have 10 approved quests under your belt you may become simply a "DM".
"Senior DM's" are those that the Storyline Leader feels understand the rules and storyline well enough to run super high level quests with much risk and danger involved, people we trust to assist other DM's and more than likely a Moderator (currently or formerly) in the game. Do not ask to become a Senior DM, if the Mods think you should be one, then they will ask you. If you feel that you've led enough quests, and are a Moderator, you may inquire as to what else needs done for this position, though.
1) Have a desire to DM
2) Contact Quest Mod
**Suggested: Run Missions as a warm up and to make sure you know the system.**
3) Write up your Quest and submit to Quest Mod
4) Run your Quest with a Mod in Attendance (Preferably Quest Mod).
**If the quest comes off a little rough, be prepared to be asked to run another just to be sure everything is sorted. This includes remaining in your 3 hour time limit.**
5) Find out if you earned your regs!
This is the list of official DM's in OH. If you are not listed here, you may still DM missions and storylines of your own making, but not quests.
