The barn was large, dusty and still showed the remains of last year's festivities. Tables and chairs were stacked near a large barrel of green goo, the use of which was honestly anybodies guess, perhaps just waiting to be cleared or maybe it was left behind for a nefarious reason. There was no point standing around in the door, so onward the team moved to make way for the largest bucket of hot soapy water anyone had ever seen. With the judicious application of soft feather dusters and a few gallon of magical disinfectant, because who even knew what had soaked into the wood during the previous festivities, everything would start to, slowly but surely, glow with the luminance of cleanliness. Cobwebs were eradicated, dust devoured, walls scrubbed with gusto, and the floors were made to glow so brightly that they would dazzle the eyes of those very hard workers.
However, with a bit of time, spit and polish the barn would eventually be clean enough to start decorating. What fun! To begin, jars filled with twinkling lights were strung up along all of the newly cleaned rafters, and around the window frames. Fragranced bunches of summer flowers were placed in strategic locations so that party goers would experience the full, but not overwhelming, warm sensations of the fields in the heights of summer. The blooms offered lively splashes of radiance and spectacle, especially the soaring sunflowers. Enough room was planned out to allow for a sizeable dance floor as rows of long tables and chairs were set up around the edges to allow plenty of room for the dancers.
The centre piece for each table included sheafs of corn, delicate bunches of lilac and gerbera daisies carefully held in ceramic vases, wrapped with yellow and burnt orange ribbons. They
